Y/n's pov

Hattie's ship was traveling next to mine, as we made our way to earth. We were both tired, so we went to bed and slept. I was suddenly woken up to alarms and shaking. My ship, was shaking. I bolted out of bed and ran to the main room, my main navigation screen was flashing red with the engine sign on it. I ran to the engine room, to see that the air pressure in the vent system was about to blow. I got close to it, and attempted to fix it, but before I could even start, it exploded. I was knocked out of the window and towards earth, and everything faded to black.

Hat kids pov

I woke up to my alarm going off, I groggily got up and went to the main room, only to see y/n's ship shut down and drifting. I jumped at the sight, knowing y/n could be in trouble. I looked toward earth, seeing something falling towards it. Upon closer look, I saw that it was a hurt looking, unconscious y/n falling down to earth. I knew I had to help y/n, but since her ship would drift away without anyone piloting it, I decided that I'd get y/n's ship first. I got my ship right next to y/n's, and used my hook shot to connect the two ships. Once both ships were secure and in orbit, I went down to help y/n. Using my telescope, I found that she landed in mafia town. I used the telescope to go down to mafia town. Once I landed, I began to look for y/n. I saw one of the mafia members and went up to him. He said "mafia saw little hooded girl fall from sky. Mafia think she landed over there". The mafia guy pointed to the opposite side of the island. Thanked the mafia guy and ran toward the opposite side of the island. On one of the cliff side, I saw cooking cat next to a bandaged up y/n. I went up to cooking cat, and cooking cat said "I saw this poor girl lying on the ground, so I decided to patch her up a bit. I just hope she's ok". I looked over at y/n, she looked so peaceful. I then got an idea. I looked around for a heart pon, and found one a small ways away. I grabbed the heart pon and brought it over to y/n, the heart pon went to y/n, and she began to wake up.

Y/n's pov

I opened my eyes to see a blue sky, with white clouds. Is.... is this earth? I bring my hand up to my head and feel a bandage. Wait... what happened? I then remembered the air vent exploding. Oh yeah. I looked around to see hat kid staring at me with worry and concern etched all over her features. I didn't like seeing her sad like this, so I tried to get up to reassure her, but she immediately pushed me back down. Hattie asked me "what happened?" I sighed and said "well, the main vent that runs the ventilation system on my ship got too much pressure on it somehow and blew up when I went to check it out". Hat kid then pulled me into a hug, sniffling a little bit. I returned the hug, tearing up a bit myself. We eventually broke the hug and Hattie helped me up. I looked around a bit more to find a cat with a chefs outfit on. I stared at it for a second and said "Hattie are you gonna introduce me to everyone or am I gonna have to guess". Hat kid perked up and said "oh yeah" hat kid gestures to the cat and said "this is cooking cat". I waved to cooking cat and said "hi, I'm hood kid, nice to meet you". Cooking cat said "nice to meet you too, I'm just glad you're ok". I nodded and hat kid dragged me away. We stopped in front of a few mafia members. I hid behind hat kid, not liking the vibe I got from them. Hattie noticed my shyness and decided it was best to get me back to my ship. When I got back to my ship, it was shut down. I grabbed my toolbox from the main room and went to the engine room, hat kid following me this time. Then the door to the engine room opened, there was a vacuum from the broken window. I resisted the pull and managed to board up the window. Now, time for the task at hand. I turned over to the main air ventilator. It was broken, and pieces of it were everywhere, but I could still fix it. I'll tell you what though, it took a lot of glue, screws, and duck tape to fix. I also figured out that the reason behind the explosion was the dirt in the air filter. I forgot to change it before I left. Luckily I brought a spare. Hat kid even helped a bit too, which was nice. Once the repairs were finished, I flipped the switch that turned on the engines. Just like that, the engines began to hum, and power was restored to the entire ship. Hat kid and I then connected the connection tube between our ships, and hat kid took down all of the ropes that she had used to keep my ship from drifting off. Once all of the work was done and finished, hat kid tapped me on the shoulder and said "tag, you're it" before running into her ship. I ran after her saying "oh it's on"

(One exciting game of tag later)

Both hat kid and I were laying on the floor of hat kids bedroom, heavily panting from playing tag. Once we caught our breath, I said "hey Hattie, why don't you tell me more about the friends you have on earth". Hat kid seemed to be in thought for a second before saying "ok, well you already met cooking cat and the mafia I guess. I also know these two birds who are movie directors. I got to be the star in their movies when I was searching for my time pieces. There's the conductor, who doesn't really look like a bird, but has an owl staff. The conductor makes a lot of train-related westerns. Then there's DJ Grooves. He's a penguin that has an Afro, star glasses, a microphone, a red suit, and really high heels. He has a penguin staff, and makes a lot of alien themed movies. The conductor and DJ Grooves are both usually at dead bird studio, either arguing or focusing on making their movies. And then there is snatcher. He's basically my contractually obligated BFF". I said "wait wait, didn't you say snatcher stole your soul and you had to beat him up to get it back again?" Hat kid nodded and said "yeah, he had me sign a bunch of contracts and do tasks for him first though, like delivering mail, cleaning a well, and going into a manor with a crazy lady in there that tries to kill anyone who enters her manor". The images I got in my head weren't pretty, but hat kid then told me about snatchers past.
