Anusha's POV

When he came out he said-

"Dad Mrs. Sharma called me and she said that I need to leave for Mumbai urgently today. There's a problem with our deal. The investor's are having some issues. And it's really urgent"

"But, I talked to them this morning. They didn't mention anything to me then." Dad said pulling out his phone from his pants pocket

"Yes, I know everything was fine then but... Now I don't know what happened...I need to go and solve the problem by myself. You don't need to worry
" he said glancing at me for a second before meeting his father's worried face.

"But Siddharth it just been one day after your marriage and you are al..." Mom reasoned

"I know Mom but I can not do anything. I have to go."
Siddharth said looking at Mom than at me for a bit longer than required this time

"Okay. Then take Anusha with you as well."
Dad asked him looking at his wife's worried expression

"No. Dad, she will be bored...and I'll be staying in company quarters with other employees. I need to discuss something with them. Further check on them." Siddharth said,
"And I'll come back after I sort everything out. I will make it quick."
The line he said completely looking at me like he was asking me for my permission to allow him to go. He was trying to assure me he will be soon with me, his presence was urgent there.

The expression was different like he was doing something that he doesn't wanted to.

There were numerous emotions in his eyes, some giving responsibility, showing concern for his duties and some to hold back like they were asking him to stay.

With me? The question build inside me doing nothing just elating a bubble in my throat. I felt it.

Whatever he was doing made me respect him more, his duties comes first but assuring the dear one was important too. He was leaving but with promises to make it up, promise a better start after this gap.

I gave him a genuine smile, assuring him because I didn't wanted to stop him, after all it was his work and that comes first.

I didn't wanted him to change anything because of me. His responsibilities come first than me.

But Anusha why it's aching inside.

I wasn't aware how to answer the little voice.

It's been just one day of your married life and your husband is already leaving you.

But he has work too and it's more important. Responsibility comes first.

Really?

"How many days it will take for you to solve all this? And what about your wedding reception." Dad asked and I came back to the present.

"I guess around one week max. And the wedding reception..." Siddharth replied with a sigh before Bebe cut him off.

"One week? Are you mad Siddharth, you are leaving your bride for a complete week and just the day of your wedding."
Bebe accused with a frown looking at me with pity

"It's okay Bebe. I understand work comes first. I'll be fine. And Dad about the wedding reception it's not really important. We will do it later once he's back. "
I said smiling towards everyone, the corner of my eyes resting to the man who was the reason of this discussion

"But Bache....." Mom was saying something when I cut her off-

"Mom! It's fine. REALLY"
I said highlighting my last word assuring her my eyes opened wide with lips pursed.

Oh, shut up! You are not assuring her you are assuring yourself.

No, it's not affecting me.

Yes, it is!

No?

You sure? Then why are you asking your self?

" Ok fine do what you want. First, this boy was there who never listen to me and now my daughter-in-law is just exactly like her husband" She said angrily.

I smiled towards her and hugged her,
" Mom, relax. He's just going for a week."

"But it's been only one day after your wedding beta."
Mom replied sadly keeping her hands on mine

"So what? We will be living together in our new apartment later. Right now I'm with you. We have a whole week with each other. I'm not going to leave you in this coming whole week. Let him go, he do nothing but disturbs."
I said waving a hand towards Siddarth playfully. Avoiding his beaming stare.

Our apartment! Seriously Anusha?

"Aww... look at her, my daughter in law is so mature,"
Bebe said caressing my hair.

"Ok fine you can go Siddharth. But we will be having your wedding reception right after you come back. Ok? "
Mom said looking at Siddharth.

" And Anusha you know how to convince people? Hhhhh..."
now looking at me with a mocking face, pulling my ear.

Oww! That seriously hurts.

I smiled sheepishly.

" Thanks, mom."
" I love you,"
Siddharth replied to Mom but was looking at me.

On that moment I wanted to hide my face behind Mom.

Soon after Siddharth and Dad left the living room and went to Siddharth's room to discuss over something.
....................

When I came back to my new room.

Siddharth was packing his clothes inside his bag- calling the procedure packing would be a shame, the man was throwing his clothes inside.

"What are you doing? Here let me do this"
I whined while taking clothes from his hands.

"No, it's okay..." He protested grumpily

Shaking my head I took the clothes from him and started folding them properly to keep them inside the bag.

He was just standing there passing me all the things he wanted with him. But I couldn't ignore his amused eyes checking out my back shamelessly

I felt my ears turning red due to me being shy and feeling self-conscious all of a sudden, I was trying hard to ignore his presence close to me.

"Here done!"
I said once I was done, looking at my success proudly

He came in front of me and handed me a box.

It seemed like a jewelry box.

What jewelry?
Again?
He is never fed up with gifting my jewelry.
I thought to myself.

I took the box from him and looked at him questioningly raising my eyebrows. He gestured for me to open it.

I opened the box and there was a sober but beautiful gold anklet.
Just like him. Simple but capable of making the heart skip a beat.

Wait.

What?

Did i just say that?

"Wanted to give it to you last night but I forgot and then you slept,"
he said while rubbing the back of his neck.

I smiled and took the anklet out of the box.

I wore it in front of him. He smiled widely looking at me and then the anklet secured in my right ankle.

I would never take it off me. I declared inside.

"I was in the jewelry shop with Mom when it caught my eye. It reminded me of you 'simple but beautifully designed." He said.

By now I was turning into a tomato.

"Um...when is your flight?"
I tried to change the topic.

He chuckled noticing my cloddishness
"8 p.m."

"Oh."
Was the only word I was able to say.

We were standing there just like that glancing at each other.

With an awkward silence between us for I don't know how long.
When I decide to leave the room before making the situation more awkward.

I was about to leave the room when he called my name.

I turned to look at him. I was caught off guard when he suddenly hugged me.
"I wish I could pack you with me as well."

I wanted to laugh. Chessy he sound. He said the words in a mumble but I heard them anyway.

His body was warm against mine, his big arms engulfed me to him. The hug was like I was his missing part he was looking for so long. He kept me there in his arms for what felt like an eternity.

When he pulled back I found myself missing his warmth. And then he leaned down kissed my forehead. The mere gesture had we all waters.

And then he whispered,
"I'll miss you" in my ear. Making me shiver.

He explained that it was not that he doesn't wanted me to come, the reason was with me with him, he won't be able to concentrate.
I blushed hard.

Saying goodbye to everyone, he left the house with smile flashing my way.

Something inside wanted to say something, maube there was an 'I'll miss you too' lingering on my lips but I shooed the thought away.

It wasn't like I was already used to him.

Was I?
