Chapter TwentyNine | Back Home.
Carolina was hiding something.
Braydon knew it. His wolf knew it and even the pups sensed something was going on; something big. She’d been avoiding her father, and neglecting her strict learning regime with the pups. For Carolina to act so detached from her pack was very out of character and Braydon would have noticed sooner if not for the zombie like state he slipped back into in the couple of days following his attempt at seeing Miranda again.
‘You know what you want. Why are you here?’ The wolf had pressed him.
“They don’t want me. What’s the point?”
‘Then you should make them see how much you want it. I want us to go home.’
Looking at the pack, Braydon wasn’t sure how he’d go leaving them. He couldn’t take them all with him, and if he left this time, they’d be no coming back or trying to be friends so he could stick around. Besides, what was Carolina hiding? She’d fidget with her hands whenever he asked her what was wrong while avoiding making eye contact and mumble something about having to go and do anything that gave her an excuse to walk away.
So on Thursday morning when she left the house to go to work, Braydon and Chad followed her. She didn’t do anything suspicious, going to her scheduled class and doing what she was paid to do. They were almost disappointed with that.
“What do you think she is hiding?” Chad asked Braydon curiously. Giving up, the duo went to a nearby café for breakfast.
“No idea. I heard her talking to Manuel about someone wanting to meet with her, well with us, but she hasn’t said anything.”
“Are you going to leave?”
“What?” Braydon instantly felt uncomfortable.
“Things are clearly not working out for you guys. So are you going to leave? You’re not really mates, not like any I’ve known. Have you even kissed her? Why did Miranda kick you out?”
So Braydon told Chad the truth, about everything, though had he been paying attention instead of making Connor a friend, he would have known most of it already. The pup once again showed that while he may be young, his mother had raised him with a keen understanding of the world. The human world, not the shifter one she had tried so hard to protect him from.
“You’re an idiot Braydon. You’ve seen enough TV to know that when the girl doesn’t want to see you, you make her. You buy the biggest bunch of flowers you can afford, you knock down whatever doors separate you and make your undying declaration of love!” Maybe it wasn’t his mother who taught him a few things, but the romantic drama’s she liked so much.
It then occurred to Braydon, they all really did watch too much TV.
“Life isn’t like the movies.” Braydon reminded him.
“No, but chicks aren’t really that hard to understand.” Chad acted like he knew a lot more than he did.
“You’re sixteen, what do you know?”
“More than you. I’m not the one sitting back doing nothing when from Rory told me, she’s actually leaving next week.”
That surprised Braydon. “You spoke to Rory?”
“I actually called her office and after a few clever moves on my part, got that out of him!” Chad grinned.
Getting up, Braydon went and paid for their meals before dragging Chad out of the café. He walked quickly, and with purpose, leaving the pup excited to find out what was going on. Getting to Miranda’s building, the security guard knew him and happily called Rory downstairs though when he came down, he was almost set on asking them to remove Braydon before he made a scene.
“What are you doing here?”
“I need your help.” Braydon started.
“No. I joke around that she is a bitch of a boss and whatever, but Miranda is my friend. She’s just starting to act semi-normal again and I don’t want you to ruin that!” Rory got defensive, and the guards started to pay attention.
“Rory, I love her. I really need your help and I’m willing to do anything to make it right again.”
The internal debate was obvious.
He’d managed to get her eating breakfast that morning, and the arrangements being put in place for the move had been enough of a distraction to stop Miranda from looking like she was going to fall apart at any second. Yet he saw the change Braydon had sparked in Miranda, she wasn’t the same person when she came back from the wild and from what time he’d spent with them as a couple told him it wouldn’t be right if Braydon didn’t a chance to make amends.
If it didn’t work out, at least next Friday she’d be out of the city and ready to really start again.
“I’m doing this for her. I still can’t believe that you of all people would actually have done something to break her like that. Plus I saw what you did to Jason and that, my friend, was epic!” Rory wasn’t forgiving, not yet, but he was willing to hope for the best. “What did you need my help with?”
Looking at Chad, the duo nodded. “Well to start with, I’m going to need a lot of flowers.”

With Rory back on his side and Braydon’s grand gesture in the process of being made, he was now left trying to work out what do about the pups. There was no denying their attachment to him and he couldn’t leave them with Manuel carrying on like he did. So with his new found determination and confidence that was only becoming more secure with Braydon finally having a goal, a purpose – he found the shifter in his office.
The second Braydon went in he realised he didn’t actually know what to say. How did he tell him he was leaving his daughter for a human and wanted him to be nicer to the pups? Would they fight over it? Would he send him off with a bunch of well wishes?
“Hello Braydon, I was just thinking about you!” Manuel smirked. While he had been thinking of his daughters mate, he didn’t actually expect him to ever approach him like this. “I’ve got something I think you might be interested in.”
“Oh?” Braydon really doubted that.
Going into the top drawer of his desk, Manuel motioned for the younger shifter to sit and Braydon obliged. Pulling out the beige folder, he passed it to Braydon. “The work I’ve been doing for our young is something the community has noticed. While you’ll get the cases like Chad, for the most part some of the packs have been very willing to do more for the pups exiled. We aren’t as savage as our animal counterparts, as humans we’re rather evolved and it’s about time we start to act like it.”
Hesitantly Braydon opened the folder to find a bunch of papers he didn’t understand, until the bank card fell out. “What is all of this?”
"Part of the program I have set up is, giving access to what the parents leave behind to their young, instead of it all going to their pack alpha. This is what your Uncle has agreed to fund you with, from what he inherited from your parents death."
Braydon looked over it all. There was notice of sales from his family home, banking details from an account made under his own name as well as his birth certificate and other document he needed to get by in the world. He wasn't under the radar anymore, he had an actual identity again.
"He also sent these things for you." Manuel got up and opening the cupboard, pulled out a small travel bag. Putting it in front of Braydon, the memories from his old home came rushing back, so much so he felt like he really had been dealing with amnesia. "I'm sure once you all move to be closer the pack, you'll feel like you never left!"
Braydon was terrified to open the bag, and looking at Manuel, he didn't understand what he just said. "Move closer to the pack?"
"Well you can't expect to take over from out here. Isn't that what you and Carolina decided?" He answered, confused.
Any other time, Braydon would have been able to see through the caring facade. He would have heard the variation in his tone and yet, as one bombshell fell after the other, the explosion sent Braydon back into his shell where he didn't know left from right.
"What?" The wolf didn't miss it, quickly seeking to take control and reclaim some ground.
"Carolina said, oh. Wait. She hasn't told you yet has she?" Manuel faked his horror at revealing the secret.
"No." Barydon growled, the rumble is his chest as he put two and two together startling the older shifter.
"I've said too much! Please Braydon, don't get mad!" He begged, holding back on the sarcasm.
"Thank you, for this." Braydon grabbed the bag and his documents, retreating to his room. He didn't even talk to Chad as they passed in the hall and shut the door before Amber could follow him.
Nicholas. Carolina had been seeing Nicholas. How did he not scent him? How did he not know?
Pacing the room, Braydon looked at the bag and with reluctance he opened it to find the smiling faces of his parents staring up at him from where they had been frozen in time. A bitter laugh left him as he pulled the images out and going through them had his heart twisting in his chest. What he wasn't expecting was to find a few of his old belongings in there too. It was if the old box his mother kept in the attic with his baby things in had been emptied into the bag as he pulled out the soft, blue woolen blanket and an ancient teddy bear. The photo of his family welcoming him to the pack was amongst those items, and to see a baby surrounded by wolves would seem unusual to a normal person. Braydon could identify each of the animals as if he only saw them yesterday.
Pulling out his new phone since he lost the old one, he called Miranda and the second he heard her voice hot, angry tears forced their way from his eyes.
"Hi, this is Miranda Wrights voicemail-"
Braydons heart sunk and as the message ended, he opened his mouth repeatedly to speak. He wanted to tell her about this, he wanted to hear her tell him it was okay and to have her hold him while he mourned for his parents; again, because now he was actually able to.
Instead all Miranda got when she checked her messages was a weird sobbing, breathing melody that she quickly deleted.
"You okay?" Rory asked cautiously, seeing her face as she dropped her mobile on her desk.
"Yeah, just some weird message from an unknown number. What did you get me for lunch?"
"I was running errands, I didn't realise you needed lunch too!" Rory lied.
What had started off with his half an hour lunch break, where he was in fact getting her food, turned into a three hour trip after sending Braydon. Clearly she didn't realise the time if she was only just asking him for lunch now and wasn't demanding an explanation of his absence.
"Oh. Never mind. I organised muffins for this meeting. I'll just snack on one of those!" Miranda grabbed her laptop and disappeared to get to the three thirty meeting she was almost going to be late for. It was then she realised how long Rory had been gone for, but didn't have time to question him about it.
The second she was gone, Rory texted Braydon to tell him he'd done what he asked and got back to work.

Braydon had his next few moves all worked out by Friday night. With Manuel out, Braydon ended up getting Chad to take the others to the local cinema, so he and Carolina had the house to themselves. They needed to talk.
She had avoided him like he had the plague, then again he was treating her much the same. It was just gone six when she got home from work, and finding the house empty instantly set her on edge. Her nerves were already frayed and walking into the kitchen, Braydon sat at the counter; waiting.
"Hey. Where, ah, where is everyone?" Carolina asked casually, yet Braydon could feel her anxiety.
"Out."
"Cool. Um, what did you wanna do for dinner?" Testing the waters, she moved close to him and putting down her bag, was surprised when he didn't flinch or pull away when she hugged him. Instantly she held him tighter, and rather than be delighted when he hugged her back, she felt like she was going to throw up.
"We need to talk." His words were a hum against her ear from where she was pressed against his chest. How could he deny how good, how right this felt?
"Sorry, what?" She mumbled, reluctantly moving back as he let her go.
"We need. To talk." Braydon got out through gritted teeth.
"What about?" Carolina smiled, yet not a muscle moved on Braydon's face as his eyes were that of his wolf, glaring at her. Cautiously she stepped back. "Bray? You okay?"
He put his phone, the one Miranda got him, on the kitchen counter and Carolina froze. "What have you been doing with Nicholas?"
The question didn't match the action, but Braydon was putting all his cards on the table now while keeping a poker face.
Carolina didn't know what to do or say, until her words rushed out of her like her tears. "I love you! Everything I've done is for us!"
"For us or for you?" Braydon growled. "I tried. I came here and decided to try, for you and the pups, but I told you before, she is my home and where I need to be. I'm done here."
"You can't be serious? She kicked you out, she doesn't want you! I do, Braydon, let her go. We never stood a chance with her around!" Carolina yelled.
"The problem with us, is you. What were you doing with Nicholas?"
"You can't blame me Braydon! You can't!" Throwing her hands up in the air she ended up leaning against the counter as she felt lightheaded.
"Answer my question!" He roared, standing abruptly, the stool fell to the ground behind him.
"He said he wants you to take over as Alpha! He hasn't had any other pups, but one and your cousin has mated to another wolf down south and they are not made for the position. When he is ready, he will back down, but he wants us, all of us to join them now!" She answered, sounding surprisingly calm. "This is a good thing! The pups will be in a real pack, I will be in a real pack!"
"Your dad doesn't want you to be."
"Of course he does. He wants whats best for all of us, unlike some people!" Carolina snapped.
"Why aren't you in a pack now then?"
"Because Dad needed some time after loosing Mum." She defended. "It was a territory battle when I was younger. Most of the pack was wiped out!"
"Or you're too young to remember and he lost an Alpha challenge?" Braydon pointed out.
"Why are you being such an asshole about this? What, cause you're not happy and hate what we are, you have to bring us all down?"
"No. I don't hate what we are. I hate packs, and Alphas and the stupid laws we are supposed to live by. I want you to have a chance at happiness, and these pups deserve more than what they're getting." For the first time in well, ever, Braydon was surprised at how adult he actually sounded. "They live in fear of him. You're so under his thumb, you don't see it and he told me about Nicholas Carolina! If you cared for them as much as you claimed, you'll be doing something about it."
"We can do something together. Braydon, this is why we're supposed to be together!" She pleaded with him to understand, not wiling to accept what was being said about her dad.
"If we were, I would've met you first and I never would be able to want someone else." He told her sadly. "I've been here two weeks. We're friends, that's as far as this bond between us is going to go."
"You haven't even tried to let it go anywhere else!" She screamed now, starting to get hysterical.
"I have. More than you know, Care!" Braydon didn't get to say anything else she threw her arms around his neck and kissed him again. Before there had been interest, curiosity and wonder. She was after all, his mate, and he had wanted to know what it would be like to touch her, taste her - and the spark, the fire, he had expected just wanted there. Even now and pushing her away, like he should have done before, Carolina knew it was over.
"I'm sorry. I really am!" Yet he didn't feel sad or hold any regret.
"Get out. Just, get. Out!" she went to slap him and punch him, dramatically loosing control as she wanted to stop herself and instead beg him to stay. Her wolf wouldn't allow it. Their pride and heart was damaged enough and deep down, they knew it was inevitable; just like how Miranda thought she'd always be second place compared to the she-wolf.
Braydon had never belonged to Carolina.
"Stop!" Braydon demanded, grabbing her arms, he held her as she gave into her tears. "You are strong, and an amazing she-wolf. The pups know I'm going and will be here for you, but you need to be there for them more than anything. I know you will have a wonderful life, I'm just not supposed to be part of it."
He gave her a final hug, and kissed the top of her forehead. No trace of sadness followed him as he left and Braydon had never felt so at ease with his mind or wolf. He was almost giddy with happiness despite his nerves being shot, as he got to Rory's house. His stuff was already in his friends small living room and getting what he needed, which included the biggest bouquet of roses he had been able to afford, they started the drive out of the city to Miranda. They stopped briefly over night and set of early in the morning so Braydon could surprise her when she woke up as Rory knew she had left straight after work to meet her parents at the house as the delivery crew would be there at nightfall. Braydon just prayed she wouldn't reject his grand gesture or him, especially after all the begging he did to get Rory to even be a part of this plan.
Rory dropped him off just before dawn, while his next stop was two towns over at his own parents house where he was going for breakfast and then looking for a place to rent. Unlike Miranda, Rorys position didn't give him the luxury of purchasing a property and as Braydon made his way to her Miranda's front door; he already knew she wasn't there.

Since it had rained over night, the cold and darkness of the pre-dawn morning made it nearly impossible for Miranda to get out bed. Considering she wasn't a morning person, the fact she did manage to get up was award worthy and she made sure to dress warmly before leaving her new house that was lacking everything that made it feel like a home. It had potential though and she'd planned a weekend of retail therapy to start getting it well on it's way to a place she'd be happy to go to each night after work.
Going out the back door, Miranda tucked the key into her pocket and stepped out from under the back porch took a deep breath of the cold, crisp air. It didn't make much sense for her to buy this house. The large yard would need maintenance and she wasn't exactly gardener of the year. She had plans of a vege garden though and extending the deck for summer parties; even in the dark she could see her plans coming together. Going down the side of the house, she left her property and walked along the gravel path that went along her side fence. The yard size and her big plans were only a small part of the reason why she bought this house.
The rain had the air smelling like damp earth, clean and invigorating. It was good for the soul and the weeks of pain seemed like nothing more than remnants of a bad dream. Almost. After all the reason why she had pounced at the opportunity for that house was this. The forest that signaled the end of the road of the street she was on. It went for miles. Perfect, untouched land that met up with a camping site about two hours walk north. and it was right along side her property.
She walked along the path, listening to the sounds of rustling branches as what ever creatures who called it home started to stir. Miranda had checked out the walking trails on the the website for the camp grounds and made her way up to one of the hills that was used for bird watching in the spring. It wasn't as good as the cliff Braydon had taken her too on what had been her last day in the wild, but seeing the wooden log that had been carved into a chair, she made it just in time to see the sunrise.
Heaven.
Pulling out the thermos of coffee, Miranda poured a cup as the bright orange rays streaked the sky as if an artist had put them there on purpose, with the sole intent of breaking up the clouds on the horizon with the promise of more rain. Steam poured from her hot cup as Miranda cradled it against her chest in a bid to warm her hands, loosing herself in memories of when she craved a cup of the black stuff, willing to do anything to get some of it again.
Now she did have it and when she got home, she would have bacon and eggs on toast. There were no mushrooms she'd have to worry about being poisonous or she knew her bacon was bacon; not what ever Braydon had caught for her. Miranda sighed heavily, wishing she could back knowing what she did now. Their introduction could have worked out differently for one and she wouldn't have exhausted herself by trying to escape him.
And what about when her Dad came searching for her; would she be so willing to go back to reality?
None of that really mattered now. You can't change the past and she was determined to make the most of her future. The snap of a twig from behind her made her jump; yet nothing was there. She'd make the most of her future if some psycho didn't kill her and bury her body in a shallow grave. There weren't any dangerous animals around here, she'd checked after the bear incident, and ignoring it, she pulled out her phone and checked the time.
She'd been out for an hour and now the promise of breakfast, a shower and shopping had her putting the lid back on her thermos. Standing she took one final deep breath and tried to keep a clear mind, yet she felt his presence before she actually saw him and like a deer in headlights, she froze as the wolf emerged from the side of the path. The shirt and pants were dropped from it's jaws as he studied her for a moment, it's tail wagging slightly.
The thermos was dropped as Miranda stared wide eyed and speechless as the familiar, blurry figure transformed into the man she didn't actually expect to see again. Had she fallen asleep and turning back to the seat, expected to see herself laying there. She wasn't and Braydon quickly dressed.
Miranda's heart hammered in her chest as her body struggled to remember what it was supposed to do to actually function. Braydon could hear the frantic thumping that matched his own and he studied her closely, not getting much of anything as her face paled and very slowly she pointed her finger at him.
"You're here?" Her voice was thick with disbelief, and barely a whisper.
"I. Miranda," He stuttered. Braydon had thought of many things to say, but now nothing seemed right. "I found you before and I've found you now, because I will always find you. You're where I'm meant to be!"
Silence.
Slow and cautious steps were taken as he approached her as if in a split second she could run. If Miranda did, he'd chase her like he did before. He'd be patient and track her to the ends of the earth if it came to it. He only knew who he really was when she was with him; the feeling of being lost and alone gone. Just by being near her had him feeling, better.
"You're my home Miranda and I should have fought harder before to stay. You can't tell me what to do, because this is what I want. Well, you can, but if I don't like it, I won't do it. Except for the dishes. No one likes those!" He rambled, totally loosing his focus as he had never felt so vulnerable as he did in that moment.
Miranda heard what he was saying, but was it real?
"Braydon, I-"
"I'm yours, I promise, nothing will ever happen again. Ever!" His voice broke as fear she'd let him go took over. "I'm beyond in love with you; heart, body and soul, I love you! Please, please believe me!"
Miranda's heart broke for different reasons now and she didn't even realise she was crying until Braydon wiped away her tears. She believed him. The fact he was even there said enough, yet what about her competition. What was Carolina thinking about this? If anything happened again, Miranda didn't know what she'd do.
"I'm just some human, why are you here; really?"
"Did you not just hear the part that I am completely in love with you?" He dared to smile, the new morning light finally reaching them, which caught each strand of her honey colored hair. With the light came hope, especially as she went even closer to him. "You're so much more than just human. You're it for me, there will never be anyone else. I know that now. I swear on my life!"
The breath was knocked out of Braydon as her arms made contact with his shoulders, snaking around his neck before her fingers threaded through his hair. She was all the air he needed, and he breathed her in while the sensation of her lips on his was life giving. Coffee didn't seem so bad now, the taste of was still on Miranda's tongue, which fueled Braydon on.
With a reluctant groan, Miranda pulled away to soon for his liking, and now her blue eyes had a sparkle to them that had been missing when he arrived. He'd missed that. He missed her and clearly the feeling was mutual.
"I love you, Braydon!" Miranda finally admitted. If she going in, she wasn't holding back now.
"You have no idea how long I've been waiting to hear you say that!" He smiled, and just for a second, the world really did stop. They had never seen each other so clearly, and they didn't even notice the sky darken over head.
This time Braydon made the first move, hungrily kissing her with desperate need. There was no going back now and as he buried his face into the curve of her neck, the scarf was pulled away. Each kiss he placed on that sensitive patch of skin had Miranda shuddering as she clung to him.
That was until the heavens opened, sending a torrential amount of rain over the earth. Braydon didn't let Miranda run as instincts told her to do, so instead she held her arms over her head as if that would stop her from getting wet, when in reality, she was already drenched. She squealed like a girl, and Braydon only laughed, looking up at the sky the rain didn't bother him.
"Let's go!" Miranda ordered, snatching her things, the duo started to run back down the path, with ended up with Braydon scooping her up as he moved quicker, easier than she could over the rough terrain. The second she saw her back fence, she got Braydon put her down and laughing like naughty kids up to mischief they kept going until they were on the back porch.
Gasping for air, they were exhausted. The half hour walk took less than half that thanks to the run back and pulling out the key, they were soaking wet as they went into the kitchen. The house was warm from where Miranda left the heating on, and Braydon obediently followed as she went straight into the laundry. Kicking off her boots, Miranda dumped her jacket on the washer, shivering involuntarily as the coldness of the wet clothes started to destroy all body warmth she had. Trying to unwrap the scarf had Braydon moving to help her and in the blink of an eye, they picked up where they left off.
Lifting Miranda onto the washer, Braydon pushed the wet clothes to the side and into the sink as her legs went around his waist. Heat rushed through the pair of them as their make out session turned into a frantic attempt to ditch the wet clothing, which would have been done easier had they let go of each other for longer than the second it took to pull of a shirt or unbutton pants.
Passion that had once been contained now ran wild, and playfully biting at Braydon's lip, Miranda's eyes fluttered open to find Braydon already staring intently at her. Barely any space was left between them as Braydon gently pushed Miranda's hair back behind her ear from where it currently dripped over her breast and against his chest.
"You know you're supposed to close your eyes when you kiss right?" Miranda blushed slightly, feeling ridiculously bare.
"I know." Braydon pulled her against him and he loved how she fit so well in his arms. Then he remembered what he'd left outside. "I'll be back!"
He grabbed a towel and finished ditching his wet pants, wrapping it around him, he turned and ran through the house towards the front. Unlocking the front door, he quickly picked up his bags and of course the flowers.
He'd just shut the door again when he sensed Miranda nearby and turning, he nearly dropped the flowers as she leant against the door frame watching him. This was another new look on her that he hadn't seen before, but this one he liked. It stirred something in the pit of his stomach and he coughed nervously as that wasn't the only part of him stirring. She still had her underwear on, but the biggest change was in her body language. There was a confident, sexual edge that had Braydon nervous.
"I ah, was bringing you flowers, but you weren't home." Braydon looked down at the mass of red roses, the smell more natural than the artificial scent of her perfume. "It was part of a romantic gesture."
Whether she realised it she was even doing it or not, Miranda's hips swayed with each step as she approached him which had Braydon struggling to swallow. "I appreciate the gesture."
He smiled, more out of fear now she was so close and it was obvious as he went red and couldn't look at her. If that wasn't enough of a sign, the way he nervously mumbled was. "Cool. Good. Great!"
Miranda shook her head, clearly amused as she took the roses and put the bouquet on one of the boxes that lined the hallway. Going back to him, her hand ran up his chest, making his tense at her touch.
"I'm going to go take a shower."
Braydon nodded and as Miranda went up the stairs, Braydon let out his breath that he didn't know he had even been holding in a loud sigh. Glancing up, he swallowed nervously as his mouth felt dry and deciding that it was now or never, he went up the stairs too - getting into her bedroom just as she disappeared behind the shower curtain. Seconds later, Miranda's head reappeared as she was almost expecting him to be there. "Join me?"
Miranda noted the way his hands were trembling, the mixture of lust and fear in his eyes. She welcomed him under the hot water, getting him to stand close to her as her hands slid over his back, and finding his shoulders, the pressure from her delicate fingers had him instantly relaxing as she worked his muscles.
"Relax Braydon. Nothing will happen that you don't want." It was a fact Miranda had no issues dealing with, no matter how many times she had wished their make out sessions had gone further before today.
That was fine for her to say, but Braydon was fighting every primitive instinct he had to claim her completely, yet the human was the only holding them all back. The soft sensation of her completely bare skin against him was torture, and it didn't help that she carefully went about washing him. When he showed interest in returning the favour, Miranda let him. That calm, patience he was so used to absorbing from her told him it was okay and once the longest shower of his life was done, Braydon couldn't deny himself any longer.
"Miranda?" He didn't recognise his own voice and as she paused by the bed where she was going through one of the many boxes in the room, he didn't give her time to respond before he lifted her onto the bed.
Miranda never answered, unable to as he kissed with a need and urgency she had internally been begging for. The soft moan that escaped her as his hands moved over her body, had Braydon more aroused than he had ever been before.
It was different now; everything was different now.
His fears had been washed away in the shower, and with Miranda's gentle and subtle guidance, they became completely lost in one another.
"Are you sure?" Miranda didn't want to push him if he wasn't ready; despite what his body was telling her.
Braydon nodded, and smirking, Miranda was suddenly looking down at him; not the other way around.
"I love you." She teasingly kissed his neck, before slipping lower, making him growl with need.
"I love you too." He managed to get out. Every part of him was turned on, every nerve was alert and never did he have any idea just want it meant to be with someone so completely. It was more than love, attraction - she was his mate. The mate he chose; and fate or what ever the hell it was that seemed to have some kind of say in it all needed to accept it, because he was never leaving her again.
He was home.
