Chapter 15: Hazbin Hotel Cook Off Ends, Carmine Combat Training

In Charlie's office, Charlie, Vaggie, and Zelda are discussing the competition, and the menu that each of the competitors made.

"So Vaggie. Zelda, what do you girls think? I have to think all the food that they provided tasted good," Charlie says with a smile.

"Well, I do admit, they're not bad, and well, Angel was full of surprises today," Vaggie says.

"I agree. I never even knew that Angel could cook, and the Italian food he made was delicious," Zelda says.

"I know. The food he made was really good," Charlie says.

"Of course, Alastor and Niffty's menu items taste good as well," Zelda says.

"That's true. I know Alastor is a good cook, and he surprised me with the menu he provided," Charlie says.

"Same with Niffty, the Beef Bourguignon and the Pineapple Upside Down Cake taste good as well," Zelda says.

"True. However, Angel's menu is really good," Vaggie says.

"I know," Zelda says.

"So then, have you all decided who should win? I surely have," Charlie says.

"I have as well," Zelda says.

"Me too," Vaggie says.

Back in the dining room...

Angel sighs, "I'm starting to get bored. When are they going to come out?"

"I'm sure the girls will be done soon, but it will take a little time," Usagi says.

"Indeed. You can't rush these things," Pentious says and begins eating the Cheese Balls.

"Guess you're right. At least we made a lot of delicious food," Angel says and he eats the ravioli he made.

"Yeah. There's a lot of food that we made," Niffty says and eat the cheese balls.

Even Razzle and Dazzle are eating some of the food. Razzle has Alastor's Gumbo while Dazzle has Angel's salad.

Soon, Charlie, Vaggie, and Zelda return to the dining room with their decision made.

"Hi everyone, we're back," Charlie happily says.

"Well, it seems that our lovely judges have returned," Alastor says.

"Yes. We did and we have decided on our winner for this little competition," Vaggie says.

"I like to know," Usagi says.

"Yes. We really like to know," Pentious says.

"Well then," Charlie says. Then turns to Angel, Alastor, and Niffty, "Alastor. Angel. Niffty. We've done a lot of thinking with your dishes, and you all have done an excellent job on it, each definitely represents your interests and even your lives in the living world." The three nod their heads.

"And as you all remember, only one of you will be our winner for the competition. We've thought long and hard on the decision and I mean really long and hard on it," Vaggie says.

Then glares at the three, "And I better not hear any of your bullshit if you lose unless you want me to hurt you," and brings out her spear.

"But of course," Alastor says.

"Okay," Niffty says.

"Alright. We won't act like babies. We promise," Angel says.

"Good," Charlie says.

Then Zelda says, "And the winner of the Hazbin Hotel Cook off isâ"

Everyone waits patiently for the results.

With that, all three girls call out, "Angel Dust!"

"Yes!" Angel cheers.

"Well Angel, it appears that you prevail in the end," Alastor says.

Then has his hand out to Angel, "Congratulations."

"Thanks Al, and you did good yourself," Angel says, and shakes Alastor's hand.

Niffty hugs Angel, "You were great, Angel."

"Thanks Niffty," Angel says and pat Niffty on the head.

Then Vaggie says, "I have to admit Angel, you did really well. Sure, we did have a good taste of Alastor and Niffty's meals, but you really surprised me today."

"Yeah. I have no idea you were good at cooking," Charlie says.

Angel shrugs his shoulders, "Well, everyone has interest outside of their work."

"He's right you know," Husk says and begins to drink his booze.

"Don't you stop drinking?" Zelda questions.

"It's Hell, what do you expect?" Husk responds, and continues drinking.

"So Angel, since you've won this competition, what will you do?" Pentious asks.

Angel thinks for a minute and says, "I actually have just the thing. I've been wanting to do it for some time and it relates to Alastor."

"And what will that be?" Alastor says.

Angel leans to Alastor, "I actually want this to be a surprise from everyone, but what I want isâ" and whispers to Alastor about what he wants from Alastor.

Hearing it makes Alastor's ears stand on end and causes him to let out a little bit of static.

Alastor asks, "Are you sure you want to do this?"

"Yes. I've been wanting to do it, and Fat Nuggets can join us as well," Angel says, happily holding the little guy.

Fat Nuggets oinks happily in response.

Alastor sighs, "Well, since you've won the competition, I have no choice but to accept it. However, I suggest you be very careful with how you go about with this plan of yours, and with my belongings."

"Don't worry Al, I'm not going to be doing anything crazy. Besides, it's going to be a lot of fun and you'll be laughing your horns off when I'm done," Angel says.

"What are you talking about?" Zelda asks.

"You'll have to wait and see," Angel says.

"Good, then you'll be cleaning up the mess first. All three of you," Vaggie says, and brings out some brooms, mops, and other cleaning supplies.

"Yeah yeah," Angel says.

"Okay," Niffty says.

"Of course," Alastor says.

And with that, the three take the cleaning supplies and begin cleaning the mess from the chase and the competition.

"Now that is settled, we should put the food in the fridge to have for later," Charlie says.

Then Zelda says, "I think I'm going to go out and take a while. I feel a bit full from this event."

Charlie nods, "Okay Zelda, just remember to wear your disguise and remember to stay safe."

"Alright. I'll try not to be gone for too long," Zelda says.

Shortly after getting in her disguise and leaving the hotel, Zelda is taking a jog on the sidewalk to get a break from the incident early and to walk off the food she has eaten in the competition. The young girl wears one of her disguises to make sure she doesn't get recognized by the demons living here.

Zelda's disguise is a blue crop top with short sleeves, and black skinny jeans and sneakers. She is wearing a black belt with a silver shell buckle. Zelda has her body painted a pale white color and her rosy cheeks are painted light blue. She is also wearing a black bob haired wig that has a hair clip that has pearls in the shape of a flower. She also makes her eyes change to the demonic red and yellow and has her wings spread out.

Zelda sighs, "Sheesh, talk about one eventful day. I just hope I didn't have to go through that again." Then says, "And with how much I've eaten, I don't think I'll be eating in a while. Wonder what I can do to pass the time?"

Suddenly, Zelda hears a familiar voice, "Thank you very much, enjoy your Carmine Purchase."

Zelda soon looks up to see a delivery truck up ahead and sees three familiar girls putting the supplies back in the truck.

"Hey. It's the girls," Zelda says to herself.

She then calls out, "Giselle! Odette! Clara!"

Hearing Zelda's voice, Giselle and her sisters turn to see Zelda.

"Is that you, Zelda?" Giselle asks.

"It's me alright," Zelda says.

"Hello Zelda, what brings you here?" Odette asks.

"Just decided to go out on a walk. Are you girls helping your mom with the deliveries?" Zelda replies.

"That's right. And this is our last delivery for the day and we're just about to head home," Clara says.

"Cool. Things have gotten a bit messy at the hotel so I've decided to get out for some air," Zelda says.

Then Giselle asks, "Hey Zelda, if you don't have anything to do, you wanna come over to my place?"

"Would your mom mind?" Zelda asks.

"I'm sure she wouldn't mind, as long as you don't cause trouble," Giselle says.

Then turns to her sisters, "What do you think?"

"I think mom won't mind," Clara says.

"I don't see why not," Odette says.

"Great," Giselle says.

Sometime later...

The girls arrive at the building of Carmilla Carmine's business, and her home base. Once Odette parks the truck, everyone climbs out and walks to the building.

"Haven't been here since that Overlord Meeting," Zelda says.

"That's right. You haven't had much looking around since you've first arrived here," Giselle says.

"Well I surely didn't expect for Alastor to take me to an Overlord Meeting at the time," Zelda says.

"Then why were you with him?" Clara asks.

"Long story, but in short, I was supposed to make sure he doesn't scramble the Egg Bois when we're supposed to get them to leave, but they wouldn't leave," Zelda says.

The Carmine Sisters giggle in response as they and Zelda walk inside the building.

"At the end, Vaggie let them stay with Sir Pentious as long as they stay out of trouble," Zelda says.

As they walk inside, Zelda sees the large foyer that looks large enough to be a ballroom. Zelda looks at the walls to see a second floor, and a staircase on the other side of the room.

"Wow. this place is really huge," Zelda says.

"Sure is. This large room also counts as a training hall," Giselle says.

"Training hall?" Zelda questions.

"That's correct. As you can see, there are various angelic weapons on the wall. Some were made by Carmine Industries," Odette says.

"Sir Pentious told me that your mother is one of the top weapon dealers, and even sells Angelic Weapons," Zelda says.

"You got that right. Many of the Angelic Weapons we've got were scavenge weapons the Exorcists left behind after the Extermination," Clara says.

"I see, but still, it seems rather dangerous for you and your mother to scavenge these weapons, especially since they're used by angels against demons," Zelda says.

"I can understand your concern, but our mother taught us to use our angelic weapons when it's really needed, especially how uncommon angelic steel is," Odette says.

"I'm guessing it's because Exorcists are the only ones to have these weapons," Zelda says.

"You've got that right. Our mother taught us everything we know since we've been here. She even taught us how to use ballet combat," Giselle says.

"Ballet combat?" Zelda says, confused.

"Indeed. Our mother was able to use hand to hand combat, but also do it while performing ballet, especially with her specialized shoes," Odette says.

Zelda doesn't understand it at first, but then remembers seeing Carmilla the first time and notices her shoes make noises as they walk.

Zelda asks, "Are her shoes made out of angelic steel?"

"You are correct. After all, as an angelic arms dealer, it's essential that she's armed with them herself," Odette says.

"That makes sense," Zelda says, "I did some karate when I was young and still practice it by myself. Of course, my dad taught me anything out of the two about hand to hand combat."

"What about your powers?" Giselle asks.

"Well, Charlie and some of the others have been teaching me how to use my powers, but everyone is also busy with their own work, and the hotel, and other business, it's kind of difficult for me to practice, especially on my own," Zelda explains.

Just then, Clara has an idea, "Hey Zelda, maybe we can teach you a bit about fighting."

"That's a great idea, Clara?" Giselle says.

"Huh?" Zelda says, confused.

"It might not be a bad idea. After all, even though you had experience with fighting, you mainly fight humans, not many demons. I suspect you've fought a few since you've got here, but there will be stronger demons who will have the advantage because of your human body," Odette says.

"And even though you have magical powers, we can teach you how to use weapons," Giselle says.

"Are you sure?" Zelda asks.

"I wouldn't hurt to try," Giselle says.

"Wellâ" Zelda replies, thinking a bit, "I guess I could give it a try."

"Alright then,"Clara says, and walks to grab an angelic steel axe.

Odette also grabs an angelic spear and Giselle also gets an angelic sword, and an analgesic sabre.

Giselle passes Zelda the sabre, "Here you go, you can use the sabre."

"Thanks," Zelda says.

She looks at the sabre and says, "So all these are made out of angelic steel?"

"You got it," Giselle says.

"Alright then," Zelda says and positions herself to fight, "I help my friend who's in the fencing club so I did quite a bit myself, mainly because my friend needed a sparring partner."

"Well then, let's get started," Giselle says.

And with that, the girls begin to teach Zelda their combat training and weapon wielding.

Meanwhile...

Carmilla is in her office talking to Zestial, who arrived a short while ago. However, the topic they're talking about is Zelda, and Zestial explains to Carmilla about his theory about her.

"Really?" Carmilla asks, shocked, "You suspect that the young girl, Zelda, is the daughter of Alexander Morningstar?"

"I believe so. She may appear to be a young human, but given her abilities and a few key appearances, she resembles Alexander," Zestial says.

"That would explain her powers, and the wings," Carmilla says.

"Indeed. However, I believe the child had no idea about her father's hierarchy, given the last conversation we had with her," Zestial says.

Carmilla asks, "You believe she isn't aware that her father is the Grand Duke of Hell?"

"I believe so. What's more, it also appears that our old friend, Alexander, had kept this from everyone. Even kept this from his family, if possible," Zestial says.

"It appears so, but why? Why keep the fact that he had a daughter? We never even knew he got married, much less a living human from Earth?" Carmilla asks. She doesn't seem happy, but trying to understand. "We were good friends with Alexander, so why keep this important fact from us, from everyoneâ?"

Zestial however, has an idea, "The child, Zelda Kalamaâ Alexander did it for her. Similar to thou risk being killed by the angels for your daughters."

"It does make sense. Despite the powers and the transformation, she looks quite human. Which makes it dangerous for her to live in Hell at such a young age," Carmilla says.

She sighs, "No wonder Alexander was hardly around Hell in the past 18 years, and started to be around less and less before that. He was preparing to be absent from Hell to take care of his daughter, and the family he created on Earth. He probably didn't want to risk the angel and more dangerous demons from learning this."

Zestial nods in response.

Soon, the pair leave the office and walk down the hall.

"It's also possible that Alexander is looking for her, but is keeping this discreet," Carmilla says.

"I believe thou is correct," Zestial says, "It would be best to wait until Alexander ask for assistance on his own. For now, it would be wise to watch over the girl."

"We know she's staying at the princess' hotel with Alastor. Though, I have trouble trusting him without having any intention for her. I wouldn't put it past the Vees to have intentions for Zelda as well, andâ" Carmilla says.

Suddenly, they hear some strange sounds coming from down the hall. They look to see the two large doors to hear loud clanking, thumping, and shouting. Curious, the two walk down the hall, open the door, and enter the foyer. To their surprise, they see Zelda, Clara, Odette, as Giselle are battling against each other. From the looks of it, the girls seem to be battling in teams. Zelda and Giselle for one team and Clara and Odette are another. Each of the girls are clasthing their weapons as they swing at one another, and dodging the attacks. Giselle and her sisters use their ballet combat to dodge and strike at each other. Zelda however, is working on dodging while dancing, but it's difficult. However, she is good with her agility, combat, and reflex and her attacks.

"You're doing good, Zelda!" Clara says, "You just need more practice and work on your combat."

"Thanks, but it's more difficult than I thought with this combat skill," Zelda says.

Giselle says, "You seem pretty good with weaponry, especially how good you use the sabre."

"Thanks," Zelda says.

"You just need to remember that while fighting, you need to keep on your toes. You never know when their next attack is," Odette says.

"Alright," Zelda says.

"Then let's continue," Odette says.

And with that, the girls continue with their training again. This time, going on one on one. Zelda is battling against Odette as Clara and Giselle watch. Unaware that Carmilla and Zestial are watching the training session.

Zestial chuckles, "It appears that your daughters are giving Zelda quite the training session."

"Appears so," Carmilla says, "Zelda is actually pretty skilled for a young human. However, many demons in Hell, especially powerful Overlords and other high class demons are formidable. Zelda may not stand a chance with her inexperience of fighting demons compared to her battle with humans, and lack control of her powers."

Carmilla and Zestial continue watching Zelda having weapons training with Odette.

"Hmmm," Carmilla stares at Zelda's battle style.

Just then, Carmilla steps forward and jumps high in the air. She then dives down towards Zelda.

As she battles, Zelda senses something, causing her eyes to change again as her horns and tail appear on her. She quickly turns around and uses the sabre to block Carmilla's attack. Now the tip of Carmilla's shoe is on the sabre and Zelda is holding the sabre as she stands her ground. Then swings her sword away as Carmilla jumps away and lands on the ground. As she stands, Carmilla looks in shock to see Zelda's horns, tail, and her eyes.

"Woah! Zelda, how did you do that?!" Giselle asks, surprised.

Zelda turns to the girls in confusion, and touches her head to feel the horns.

Zelda panics, "I am so sorry, I didn't expect it to happen! It's just something I've recently developed so this is kind of new!" Then turns to see Carmilla, "and no offense Ms. Carmine, but was that all about? You almost gave me a heart attack!"

Carmila calmly smiles with a soft chuckle, "Call it a pop quiz, and you surely have performed self defense, excellently."

Zelda feels embarrassed, "Uh thank you. I did n't have much of a warning with that sudden attack."

"Still, the horns and tail are new," Odette says, adjusting her glasses.

Zelda sighs, "I have no idea about it."

"Though, thou hast done quite well, child," Zestial's voice speaks out.

Zelda turns to see Zestial walking down the stairs and towards the group.

"Zestial," Zelda says, a little surprised.

Zelda then quickly reverts back to her normal form and calms herself.

"I didn't expect you here," Zelda says.

"Carmilla and myself were having a discussion and we couldn't help but notice your little training exercise," Zestial says.

"I guess we were making a lot of noise," Clara responds.

"Appears so," Giselle says.

Carmilla says, "Perhaps, but I must say you all have done it well, including you Zelda. You were able to pick up the combat and weapon fighting well enough, but it's also clear that you have quite a lot to learn."

"Um yeah. I figured as much. It's been difficult for Charlie and the others to teach me how to fight because they're busy with their own agenda. I've gotten some lessons from my dad, but that's basically it," Zelda says.

"Hmm, then perhaps I can assist you in your training," Carmilla says.

Zelda turns to Carmilla and asks, "Really?"

"If you have some time," Carmilla says.

Zelda nods, "Yes. I have plenty of time. Besides, I really need to learn how to defend myself against demons. I've done okay so far, but I need to get better at it, especially with the Extermination coming early this year."

"Well then, it's best we get started," Carmila says.

Zelda nods, "Yes ma'am!"

And with that, Zelda begins her first training session with Carmilla Carmine, and it's proven that Carmilla is very skilled when it comes to fighting, which also means that Zelda has a lot to work at.

Sometime later...

Zelda has returned to the hotel, and is feeling pretty tired and sweaty after the training session with Carmilla and the girls.

Soon, Charlie walks over, "Hi Zelda, how was your day out?"

"It was fine. Did some walking, run into Giselle and her sisters, and visited their place," Zelda says.

"That's nice, what did you all do there?" Charlie replies.

"Well, the girls actually taught me some combat training and taught me how to use an angelic steel sabre. And Carmilla also gave me a bit of a training session as well," Zelda explains.

"You did combat training with them?" Charlie asks, surprised.

Then grows concern, "Were you okay? You didn't get hurt, did you?"

"Not much, but boy was I tired. Carmilla was pretty strong, so it was difficult to face her," Zelda says.

"I can imagine. Carmilla is a powerful demon and is very skilled," Charlie says.

"She is, and Carmilla said I did pretty well for my first day. She said I can come back for more training," Zelda says.

Charlie giggles, "That's good to hear, and it sounds like you had quite the day."

"Yeah. After everything that has happened today, I'm going to hit the showers and head to bed," Zelda says.

"Good idea. I'm a bit worn out myself after what happened, and pretty full as well," Charlie says.

"Yeah. I sure have," Zelda says.

Shr then asks, "So you have any idea what Angel is up to?"

"I'm not sure. I asked, but he said that it's a surprise. He said that the surprise will happn around 6," Charlie says.

Vaggie looks at her phone, "It's almost six right now, so we'll see what Angel has in store."

"Not so much as seeing, more like hearing," Alastor says.

Everyone turns to see Alastor.

"Hey Alastor, what's going on?" Zelda replies.

"Nothing much my dear, however, you are in for a very good, unique surprise right about now," Alastor says.

"What do you mean?" Zelda asks.

And right on cue, they hear radio static and it's loud enough for everyone in Pentagram City to cover their ears.

Vaggie screams, "¡¿Que carajo?!"

Zelda also screams, "ko'u mau pepeiao!"

Even Usagi screams, "museun il-iya?"

Finally the noise stop.

"Fuckin finally," Husk says.

"What was that?" Charlie asks.

Charlie's question is soon answered when everyone hears Angel's voice on the radio, "Hello Pentagram City and fellow sinners! This is Al's radio station to broadcast the most sexiest demon in all of Hell!"

Vaggie groans, "Oh no!"

"Is that Angel Dust?" Zelda asks.

Alastor sighs, "Sadly, it is."

Angel continues, "Today I've been given you all the opportunity to hear this sexy voice live from the Hazbin Hotel and with my cutie little co Star, Fat Nuggets."

And the oink appears on the radio.

"Hope you all are ready to have a fuckin great timeâ" Angel says on the radio and continues on.

Vaggie groans and covers her face with the pillow.

Zelda sighs, "This is not going to end well."

"I have to agree," Charlie says.

Alastor groans and places his hands over the face.

Angel continues on with his new radio broadcast special for the rest of the time. How will it end, well that's another story.
