~The next 2 days later...

~Aqua's POV~

I was pretty excited and nervous about starting my new job as a lifeguard. But it was the only way to help out Charlie with her hotel dreams. I was in the pool room in a swimsuit that Angel fashioned for me. And I was impressed that he can work a sewing machine with 4 hands.

"Okay Aqua. Are you ready for your final day of training?" Charlie asked me.

"Ready." I wagged my tail and waved to Rachel sitting at the chairs with the others, including Husker.

"You can do it Aqua!" Rachel smiled as she waved a flag.

Rachel's words gave me encouragement and confidence.

"Okay. So we're gonna see how long you can hold your breath for." Charlie said.

"Sounds easy." I said as I got into the pool, it was warm. "Ooh. It's nice and warm in here." I giggled as Angel gave me the dumbbells to keep me sunk to the bottom of the pool.

"Good luck toots." Angel winked at me.

I giggled at his gesture. "Thanks Angel." I said as I took in a few deep breaths.

"Just in case you're in trouble, I'll go down after you. Okay mija?" Vaggie said.

"Okay Vaggie." I nodded.

"Ready? Set? Go!" Charlie started the timer.

I took in a deep breath and sunk to the bottom of the pool with the dumbbells. As I made it to the bottom, I sat down with my legs crossed like a pretzel. This test was going to be a piece of cake. As I was sitting there, I went into my chest fur and took out my reading glasses and a book to read as I was still holding my breath.

~Husker's POV~

I sighed as I was sitting at the seats with the other losers around me. I don't even understand why I'm even here at all just to watch a dumb dog holding her breath.

"I wonder how she's doing down there?" Angel said as he was looking down at the water.

"It's already passed 5 minutes." Charlie looked at her stopwatch.

"Let's take a look, shall we?" Alastor said as he snapped his fingers and then a cloud with an image of the dog showed up.

"What the fuck?!" I gasped. "Is she... reading a book down there?!" I said in disbelief.

Rachel giggled. "That's something I would do. But I hate water."

"Oh my god. She's really reading that book down there?! What happens if she laughs?! What happens if she loses her breath?! What if!" Charlie was starting to panic.

"Calm down Charlie. She's fine. Look, she's turning the page." Vaggie reassured Charlie. "I'm impressed."

I looked at the vision to see that Vaggie was right. Aqua was turning the page. "Damn. Just what the fuck is she thinking?" I asked myself.

"I'd have to agree with Vagina." Angel agreed. "She's definitely perfect for the job Charlie."

"I agree!" Charlie got excited.

"That's pretty cool." Rachel smiled. "How did you do that Alastor?" Rachel asked him.

"I'm simply the Radio Demon my dear. I can do just about almost anything."

"Yeah right." I scoffed as I continued to watch the vision.

20 minutes have passed and that dog was still down there. I would have to repeat this again... STILL DOWN THERE.

"My my, this has to be a demonically amazing world record!" Alastor was impressed.

"Uhh... maybe we should... bring her out..?" I asked quietly.

"Exsqueeze me? Did the grumpy old Husky cat just become concerned over the cute little wolfie~?" Angel laughed at me.

I growled at him. "Shut the fuck up."

"Dios mio. I'll go get her." Vaggie said as she held her breath and dove into the water.

I sighed out in somewhat relief as I was looking through Al's vision to see that Aqua was still reading that stupid book. Then I saw Vaggie tapping her shoulder and signaling her to come up to the surface. Aqua nodded and puts her book and reading glasses in God who knows where she got it from.

"Alright that's enough seeing for now." Alastor snapped his fingers again and the vision vanished.

"Hey! I wasn't done watching yet!" I growled and grew a little concerned.

~Aqua's POV~

After I felt Vaggie tapped my shoulder and signaled me to come up, I placed my things in my chest fur and swam up with her to the surface. After we broke through the water surface I inhaled in all the fresh air. "That was refreshing." I shook the water off my ears.

"Dios mio Aqua. 20 minutes down there and you're in one piece. You've earned my respect mija." Vaggie smiled.

"That was amazing!" Charlie clapped her hands. "Congratulations Aqua, you're officially a lifeguard!" she cheered.

"Thanks everyone." I wagged my tail in the water hearing everybody's praise.

"That was crazy! You could've drowned down there!" Husker hissed at me.

Husker's yelling made my ears go down. "I'm sorry, did I worry you?" I asked him.

"Yeah right, I wasn't worried! I wasn't worried at all!" he looked away and crossed his arms.

"Calm down Whiskers, she's capable of taking care of herself down there." Angel defended me.

"Angel Dust is right. And you don't have any right to yell at her that way Mister Grumpy." Rachel defended me as well.

Husker grumbled. "Something fishy is going on with you dog." he glared at me. "And I'm gonna figure it out."

When he said the word fish, I gulped and swam back from him, hiding behind Vaggie.

"Husk, what the fuck is wrong with you?!" Vaggie protested.

"You can't just say things like that in front of our new lifeguard!" Charlie also protested as well. "I swear it's like you don't even like her!"

"I don't!" Husker growled louder. "Oh well. It's whatever. Just don't do that again!" he scowled and turned around to leave the pool room.

As we all watched Husker leave the room, I got out of the pool soaking wet. "I didn't mean to upset him." I said as I squeezed the remaining water out of my hair.

"That's Whiskers for ya baby cakes." Angel said as he gave me a towel to dry myself.

"Has he always been this grumpy?" I asked him as I dried myself.

"Yes. But he's grumpier than usual." Alastor says. "He's still adjusting to get used to you. Don't feel bad dear. I'll have a chat with him." he said as he walked out of the room to go after Husk.

"Don't pay any mind to that cat. He always talks like that to everyone. Wanna have a drink?" Angel asked me.

"Umm, maybe later. I'm going to my room." I said as I started walking out of the pool room.
