As much as I was enjoying Husk's paw on mine, I pulled my paw away from his paw slowly. "Since you're still recovering, I'll leave you be." I said as I got up.

"Wait, what?" he asked me.

"You heard me, I'll leave you alone now." I said as I turned around and felt my way to get out of his room.

"Aqua, wait."

"Toots wait, you can't see!" Angel called out to me.

As I was still feeling my way through the hallway, I was thinking to myself. 'It's better for me to let Husk rest. So I won't be a bother to him. It's better for the both of us that way.' I thought to myself.

I was still feeling my way until... "Wah!" I felt myself going down and I was beaten and banged downwards until I fell right on the still ground. And I fell in the famous Peter Griffin death pose. "Ugh..."

"Holy shit Aqua!" Angel cried out.

"Ugh... what happened?" I sat up, not knowing where I was.

"You fell down the lobby stairs! Are you okay girl?!"

"Barely alive... but I deserved that too for foolishly walking with a cone on my head." I said. "And this is the second time I feel down these stupid stairs!"

"Damn girl!" Angel said as I heard him running down the stairs.

"Fuck..." I muttered to myself. I was about to get up until I felt a sharp pain at my side, which made me lay back down. "O-Ow..."

"Aqua?" I heard Angel's footsteps coming towards me. "What's wrong?"

I started panting all of a sudden. And then, I felt something seeping wet on my side. "I-I feel wet here. What's this?"

Angel gasped pretty loudly. "Oh my gosh!"

"What's wrong?" I panted.

"You're bleeding! And it's dark blue? Weird."

"Angel! Bleeding! Help!"

"Oh right! Vaggie! Charlie! Help!" Angel called out the girls for help. "Don't worry girl, you're gonna be okay!"

The pain got worst and it caused me to lay back on the floor. I still couldn't see anything because of the cone. I felt the cone coming off of my neck and I was finally able to see Angel's worried face. "B-But h- ow..." I moaned in pain.

"Can you heal in the pool bestie?!" he asked me worryingly.

"No... it's the new moon period. M-My time of vulnerability..." I panted. I was thinking about how I got the wound.

~Flashback from the other day~

"I'm gonna kill you Red Claw!" I growled at my rapist.

"You never will! Rah!" Red Claw charged at me.

"Rah!" I roared and charged at him. As I clashed weapons with him, I felt a grinding pain at my right side. "Ah!" I did a backflip to get away from him.

"You will be mine again!" he said.

"Never!" I roared as I kept fighting him.

~End of flashback~

"Well shit. I didn't realize that ow!" I moaned in more pain as I felt Angel putting pressure on my wound.

"We're here Angel!" Vaggie said as she ran in with Charlie holding the first aid kit.

"Oh my gosh! What happened?!" Charlie was worried sick.

"She fell down the stairs and then started bleeding pretty badly!" Angel explained to her in a panic.

"Huh? I can't... I can't hear you guys..." I said as I couldn't hear anybody and started seeing blotches of black spots at my eyesight.

"Hold on mija!" Vaggie said. "Hold on!"

I started to slip into unconsciousness and felt myself falling... falling... into darkness.

~Hours later...

I hummed softly as I was feeling a cool wet feeling on the top of my forehead. "Mmm..." I hummed.

"Shh, it's okay toots. I've gotcha."

I slowly started to open my eyes. As I was fully awake and saw Angel there in my sight. "A-Angel..?"

"Toots. Thank god you're awake." he said as he held my paw.

"Angel." I smiled lightly and wiggled my ears. "You're one in a million."

He chuckled. "I know I am." he said as he dabbed the wet towel across my sweating forehead. "I'll take care of you until the next moon cycle kicks in."

"Okay." I nodded. After he was finished cleaning me, he was touching my ears which made me giggle since they were sensitive. "Angel~!" I giggled.

"They're so cute. And so soft." Angel laughed.
"Husk would never let me touch his ears."

"Maybe it's a spot that he's not comfortable with. There are some body parts that are good to animals like me and Rachel and Husk."

"Hmm. I don't know how I would look in kitty cat ears."

"I think you'd look cute in them. You'd look cute in them my friend." I smiled at him.

"Thanks toots."

"Hey!" I giggled as he was still playing with my ears.

After he was finished playing with my ears, Rachel came in and brought us dinner. It was a surprise that Alastor helped make the meal. They made us baked potato soup which was absolutely delicious as always.

After I was done with my soup, I looked down. "Rachel and Alastor are lucky to have each other."

"They're acting like a married couple. Even though they're not married."

"I mean, they do look happy together. They're lucky to have each other. I wish I was like them and everybody else."

"What do ya mean toots? You have the girls and I, we love you."

"And I love you guys too. You're my family. But I meant, something more. Charlie has Vaggie, Alastor has Rachel, you have Fat Nuggies, Nifty has her broom, Pennie has his egg boys, and me... well I'm incomplete. I feel left out. The odd girl out."

"What? No you're not, you're not alone, and you're not the odd one out at all. You take care of Razzle and Dazzle and sometimes the egg boys."

"Heh, they sometimes look up to me as if I'm their mom. Since I love babies." I smiled. "I'm sorry for beating myself up Angel. I just have to learn how to... let go of the one I love. Well, used to love."

"Hey. If I know anything, is that love conquers all. Husky Wusky will get around soon enough. Hell, even sooner than you think."

"Maybe. Someday." I said as I was finished with my juice. I released a yawn and laid down. "Stay the night with me?"

"Sure toots. Whatever you wish." he said as he was cleaning up.

"Wanna get into bed with me?"

"Sure. Don't move." he said as he climbed into bed with me, and then he pulled the sheets over us, then he tucked me in. "There ya go. Nice and warm?"

"Toasty."

"Good." he said as he wrapped his arms around me.

I gently laid my head onto his chest fuzz. "Mmm, you smell good. Like strawberries."

He chuckled. "Thanks bestie. Goodnight."

"Night night." I said as I slowly drifted to sleep in the arms of my bestie.
