husk x OC
You asked, and you have recieved!
I got husk!! I like writing Oneshots with him. It's fun. (Also tell me if this is alright in the comments, I just assumed she was at the hotel already but not much of a friend with Husk)
This is a request, obviously. So this will be between their OC and Husk, though go ahead and replace their name with yours if you'd like, but it is an OC and will have specific traits (like Apep, her snake)
Also it's written in first person like the other one. Thought I'd go for a crush like the other, but it's more of a husk-likes-OC thing and also not much of a crush but more of a friend.

I stared at the wall, nearly beginning to admire the printed wallpaper.
"Viprah?" A radio voice called my name. I whipped to face the sound, Apep hissed a little and turned as well.
I noticed Alastor standing at the nearby doorway, his eyes bright with what looked like enthusiasm.
"My dear, I'll be out today with Charlie. And Vaggie. Angel is at...work, and Niffty is upstairs cleaning. Can you manage without us?"
"Of course." I responded, to the almost dumb question. Did he think I wasn't capable of staying alone at a hotel?
Not alone. I reminded myself.
Husk, that winged cat, was currently blinking blankly from behind the bar counter, like he was staring at something.
Apep hissed lightly at me, coiling around my arms.
"Wonderful!" Alastor smiled more than usual. "I'll be off, then. Have fun!"
With that, he began to make his way to the door, slamming it shut on the way out.
I watched around me, cuddling Apep quietly. I barely even noticed Husk cross the bar counter with a bottle in his hand and make his way slowly onto the red velvet chairs that dotted the parlor.
I watched, shocked, as the cat took a swig of alcohol right from the bottle. I nearly gagged at how strong that must have tasted.
Apep seemed to sense my dread and concern and coiled tighter around me, but not enough to hurt.
"What're you lookin' at?" Husk grumbled, and I noticed he was staring directly at me.
"Uh- nothing." I mumbled the response. "How do you even drink like that?"
"Like what? From the bottle?" Husk stared at me like it was a stupid question.
"I just- I was wondering if it tasted strong, is all." I scoffed, trying to pretend I hadn't asked the question.
"Of course it's strong, dumbass. It's straight whiskey." Husk replied. I was taken aback by his rudeness, since I hadn't talked to him much before this.
Only the occassional 'hi' and 'bye' every once and a while.
We were in silence for a while before he turned to face me on the chair. "It takes a while of drinkin' to be able to stomach shit like this."
"I would assume." I nearly rolled my eyes, and Apep was blinking curiously at Husk.
"You should come by the bar sometime, it's sorta lonely." Husk mumbled, as if embarrassed.
I was surprised by his request. "Sure, I guess."
---
Later that night, I had thought about Husk's words.
"You should come by the bar sometime, it's sorta lonely."
I had taken it to heart. Husk seemed like a genuinely nice guy, just misunderstood and angry all the time.
Apep curled around my legs, hissing lightly as I got up from where I sat, reading a book.
"C'mon, Apep. Let's go get a drink."
I started on my way to the bar. Alastor, Charlie and Vaggie were still gone, and Angel had stumbled up to his room a couple hours ago. Niffty was still upstairs doing who knows
what.
"Vip?" Husk seemed surprised as I crossed the corner. "Wow, you actually showed."
"Of course," I scoffed. "I wouldn't leave you lonely like that."
"I'm surprised. So, what's your favourite drink?" Husk asked, turning with a flick of his tail to the wall of bottles and glasses.
"I'm not much of a drinker. But I guess whatever's..I don't know, popular?" I responded, taking a seat at the bar stools.
"I'll give you an on the rocks drink, then." He mumbled, turning to grab something off the shelf.
I waited patiently until he slid a shotglass down the counter at me, a mysterious alcoholic drink poured over ice.
I took a sip, suprised by the flavor. Husk grabbed himself a bottle of alcohol and started to chug it down.
"So, what got you in Hell?" Husk asked, his ears flicking.
That one question spiraled into so many different, interesting conversations about many different things. I learned Husk was formerly an overlord, gambled his soul away to Alastor, and was stuck here.
I also told him about Apep, and Husk actually seemed into the conversation for once instead of staring into space like I'd seen him do when talking to Charlie or Niffty.
"...and that's it. How I ended up in Hell." I finished.
"Wow." Husk laughed. "That's a lot of information to process in four hours when you're drunk."
"I'd better head upstairs before everyone gets home." I told him, getting up.
"Night, then." Husk smiled at me.
"Goodnight."
---
Over what felt like days, but was more like weeks, me and Husk grew together. Our friendship bloomed into what could only be described as 'besties'.
"And then I said-" I was at the bar stool, talking absentmindedly, when I heard a soft noise from the other side of the bar counter, where Husk was.
He stared at me, looking interested, but he was clearly daydreaming. A soft, low purr sounded from somewhere close to him.
At first, I thought it was KeeKee, but after I saw her sleeping on the couch in the parlor, I realized what this was.
"Husk, are you purring?"
"Uh- no. Fuck that. No." The purring just got louder.
"Yes you are, you liar." I snorted. "It's fine, I get it. I'm adorable, I'm sure."
Husk's face blushed a deep red beneath that white fur and I watched as he shrunk behind the bar counter.
"Never have purred, never will." Husk grumbled at me.
"Whatever you say." I smiled down at him and his wings fluttered.
This clearly wasn't normal for a friend to do to another friend, right?
I guess we're already better friends than I thought. Maybe not even friends anymore.
