Chapter fifteen
^(oh god i think my heart is melting help)^
Kobe had been at the hotel for less than twelve hours and he was already driving you nuts. Judging you, telling you how women behave in 'his trade', giving you tips on how to be ideal for getting pimped out. He seemed to have shot down 5/6 of your self-confidence and helped your self-consciousness skyrocket.
You looked at the clock. You could leave in two minutes. You and Domino had decided to go barhopping tonight. You knew you'd need to get a drink and boost your own self confidence by getting guys to flirt with you at a bar. You collected the day's accumulated shit on your desk and re-organized it as the clock ticked.
{tiny time skip because idk how to write}
You walked out of your office and to the lounge area. Domino was having a conversation with the blueberry pimp and you stopped yourself from rolling your eyes. Domino looked at you. "Oh, (y/n), I'm gonna have to cancel on the barhopping tonight. Kobe's gonna show me how he works with his clients. Can I get a rain check?" they asked. Kobe looked proud of himself. "Um...yeah. Okay. Let me know when you can though," you said, failing to hide the disappointment in your voice. "I definitely will!" they told you. You forced a small smile and headed to the front of the hotel, putting on your white denim jacket and waving to Alastor who was at the front desk and working on files.
"(Y/n), dear!" Alastor called out to you as you were about to walk through the door. You turned around and looked at him. "If you need something to do, I could take you to a place I recently heard about," he told you. You glanced to the side. Okay, he's been hanging out with you way too much to be just friends. He doesn't even hang out with Husk this much. "Sure," you said with a smile. "If you don't mind, I'll finish this file and then we can head over there," Alastor told you. You nodded, closed the door, and then leaned on it, grabbing your phone. Normally you didn't turn to the internet of hell for advice, but this time you needed to. You opened the hell equivalent of google, searching, "How do I know if a guy likes me when we go out but he doesn't call it a date?"
No surprise, no results. You mentally cursed this whole kingdom of damnation. You turned off your phone just as Alastor closed the file and teleported right to you, making you jump a bit. He laughed a little, the laugh that you loved. NO! Don't think like that. "It's going to take a little bit for me to get used to that," you said with a laugh. Alastor smiled bigger and opened the door. "Ladies first," he said with his charming voice...DAMN! You kept overthinking everything about him. Well...not really overthinking. Just falling in love.
{time skippy peanut butter}
You sat with Alastor at an old-timey bar he had brought you to. It looked like it was from the roaring twenties. You looked around in awe. There were old pictures, old things, all over the place. When your gaze returned to Alastor, you noticed he was watching you. You smiled. "I see you're enjoying this," he said. "It's just so cool!" you remarked, looking at a picture of Pentagram City in the 20's. You were distracted by the bartender approaching you, a bored but irritated expression on his face.
You weren't sure how people ordered at bars in the 20's, so Alastor decided he'd take it upon himself when you told him. "Two shots of whisky," he told the bartender. Alastor didn't tell you that he was going to get you some whisky. And it turns out that ordering in an old-fashioned bar was no different than a modern one. The bartender brought out two little shotglasses and poured some whisky in each one.
"Have you ever had whisky before?" Alastor asked you. "Nope. I've always been more of a cocktail girl," you told him. "Well you're in for a surprise my dear!" Alastor told you. "Wh-what? Why?" you asked, a little nervous. "You'll need to try it to see," he said. You looked at the little glass. "Soo...do I drink it like all the people in the movies, or what?" you asked. Alastor looked unsure for a moment. He must have never seen a movie where someone drank liquor. "I'll demonstrate, darling," he told you before taking the shot. Yep. Just like the movies. You glanced at the little shot glass in front of you. You lifted it up and drank it, dropping it on the counter as you coughed. It burned your throat and your body rejected your attempts to swallow it, but you forced it to. It took you a moment to regain your composure and stop coughing.
"Holy shit that's some strong stuff," you said quickly. You saw out of the corner of your eye, someone staring at you condescendingly. "What?" you snapped. They looked away immediately. Alastor asked if you wanted another shot, to which you promptly said no. "It burned too much," you said. Alastor called the bartender over again and ordered a glass of whisky while you ordered a cocktail.
"So, my dear, what are your thoughts on the hotel's most recent guest?" Alastor asked. "I can't stand that little bastard," you answered. Alastor laughed. "I mean, as if it's not bad enough that he's using the hotel to get laid, he has to diss everyone and judge them, and he is staying free of charge. He has no intention of even trying to get redeemed. Angel at least tries!" you ranted, taking an angry sip from your cocktail. "You seem to be overly angry for just meeting him about twelve hours ago," Alastor noted. You didn't respond, just took a sip from you cocktail. "Is that because he took Domino from you?" Alastor asked you. "He's not taking Domi from me! I won't let him..." you answered, a dark tone on your last sentence.

You and Alastor ordered your third round of drinks. You were feeling a little bit dizzy, but not even buzzed. The bartender placed a cocktail in front of you as you carried on a conversation with Alastor. Suddenly, a random demon ran up to you and just...engulfed you in an embrace. he was literally right in your face, your noses were almost touching and you could smell alcohol on his breath as he talked to you. He was a rather small demon with wings and he flew around you and Alastor a few times before flying away. You stared after him with a O_O look (yes cringy i know don't yell at me).
"What the hell?" you asked, half to yourself. You took a sip of your cocktail, enjoying the lack of burning sensation that the whisky gave you. It had a strange bitterness to it, but you figured that you were just imagining it. You were having a conversation with Alastor when you started feeling strange. You were losing feeling in your fingers, slowly. You felt dizzy and you felt a strange feeling or emotion that you don't remember having before. Your vision became fuzzy and darkened, and you almost panicked. This wasn't you getting drunk. Something else was going on here. Something very wrong...
