Chapter eighteen

(^idk what to say about this pic but its funny^)

(A/N: I had a mega brain fart and forgot that me and my parents are going to be out of town tomorrow (wednesday) so I couldn't update then

HOWEVER

instead of making you wait an extra day, I'm updating early ^-^ <3)

You stared at the door of the hotel, bored out of your mind. You were watching the front desk, and Charlie had a wonderful idea of "no tech at work day" so you had no phone; you had nothing to keep yourself busy.

"It'll help us be more focused on what we need to do," Charlie had said. You couldn't even leave the front desk to get a book, just in case a demon came along, and Domino was way too busy with the smurf pimp to carry a conversation with you. Luckily it was just an hour until everyone went to that theater to watch the documentary about Alastor.

You were actually kinda excited for the documentary. Normally, they bored you, but this time it was something you were actually interested in: Alastor. And in more ways than one. You let out a sigh. After denying Alastor a few days ago in you apartment, you couldn't tell him the truth. You were either going to have to shut up and try to fall out of love, or struggle in silence as you fall for him harder than a Boeing with engine failure.

You could also tell Alastor how you felt...and how tempting that was. But what if he didn't like you too? I mean, what he did in your apartment kinda showed you that he did like you, but who the hell were you to assume that? He was probably just using your feelings for him, against you. He is, after all, quite the narcissistic manipulative ass. You were really frustrated. Holding these feelings in was really difficult. You wanted to talk to someone about it, but you felt like you couldn't trust anyone.

{time skip because im a lazy ass}

You walked through the door of the theater with the rest of the Hazbin staff. Actually, not just the staff. Angel and Kobe were going too. And, oh, how badly you wanted to 'accidentally' slam the door on Kobe's face. But, you decided to not be an ass and just walk through without injuring him.

You were kind of confused about why Kobe's girlfriend was never around. Why didn't he invite her to this? You stared after him and Domino. They were getting along very well. Too well. As if it weren't bad enough that he stole Domi from you the first day he was at the hotel, now they were hanging out pretty much 24/7. Kobe hadn't stopped with his pimping, and you wanted to yell at him for taking advantage of the hotel so he could get laid with his supposed 'girlfriend'. You personally thought his girlfriend was imaginary, but he was rich. There are two types of people when it comes to how they feel about rich fuckshits: the ones who are madly in love, and the ones who can't stand them. You were one of the latter.

You could barely force yourself to take your eyes off Alastor, who was talking with someone you didn't recognize. The only reason you would force yourself to stop looking at him was that you didn't want anyone to know that you liked him. You had to stop yourself from smiling when you heard his charming laugh, distracting yourself by chatting up Domino.

"You smitten bitch," you told them with a smile.

"What are you talking about?" Domino asked.

"You accuse me of being in love with Alastor, which I'm not," you lied, "and then you fall in love with the smurf pimp."

Domino rolled their eyes. "Hey, I only tell you that because you are. I'm not in love with Kobe."

"I'm not-" you were interrupted by Domino's gasp.

"If you have Alastor and I have Kobe, we both get a berry pimp!" they said excitedly.

"No," you said plainly.

"It's true though," Domino told you.

"Yeah. Except for the fact that Alastor's not a pimp," you remarked as you grabbed a bucket of popcorn and a soda.

"Guys! The documentary is starting!" Charlie told you excitedly.

You followed her into the theater, behind Alastor and in front of Domino. You noticed it was very full for this to be a 'private showing' of the documentary. Before you knew what was happening, you were shoved into the row of seats Alastor was in. You looked back to see Domino giving you a wink before shoving you into the seat next to Alastor and jumping over the back of the seat in front of you. The lights turned off as Charlie sat next to you with Vaggie on the other side of her. Kobe sat next to Domino, and you resisted the urge to punt the blue demon in the back of the head, telling yourself to give Kobe another chance to not be a complete dick.

The screen lit up with the title of the documentary. It then changed to a video of an old radio, a static noise coming from the speakers as the old radio's dials moved up and down. The camera zoomed in on it slowly and the screen started to take on a red tint as the static grew louder. You almost got a jumpscare as the screen suddenly cut to a scene of a shit load of mutilated demons. It then turned into a photo montage of destruction, showing destroyed buildings and dead people everywhere. The montage ended with the radio again before the screen cut to black.

You heard Alastor's familar voice, and you almost looked at him to see if he was talking, but you realized it was audio from one of his broadcasts in Hell a while ago. Images of Alastor flashed across the screen as his broadcast played. There was an image of Alastor completely destroying someone, and you heard Domino yell, "Get wrecked!"

Alastor was watching with pride in his eyes. The narrator started talking about Alastor, and you couldn't help but steal sideways glances at the powerful demon. You started to realize you'd never have a chance with him...would you? He's powerful, busy destroying people, only at the hotel to watch everyone fail, and overall, doesn't have time or a reason to be with you. But...you also remember your mom telling you to never give up, and never lose hope. Maybe that could be applied to this situation...

A realization hit you like a brick wall. What if Alastor was your one shot at being happy for all eternity in this fiery pit of despair? If you didn't tell him you loved him, what if you miss your chance forever? What if you could not let go of him, if you do miss your chance, and you spiral down into insanity with your main focus being Alastor?? Okay, maybe that's a bit overdramatic...but kind of true. But, when would that one chance be? Hang on a second...you're in a dark room, everyone's focused on the screen...what if your chance was now?
