"Five minutes til the new year, bitches!" Domino announced.

"Thanks for telling us, motherfucker," you responded with a smile.

Domino smiled and gave you the middle finger. You knew it was just for humor, luckily, so you smiled and flipped them off as well.

"This is going to be so coool!" Charlie said, bouncing up and down slightly.

She had brought everyone up to some big balcony on the hotel. It was actually a beautiful sight to see Pentagram City at night. There was also a great view of the clock tower, which was ticking second-by-second to the new year.

Angel and Cherri were looking over the edge of the balcony, tossing potato chips to the people walking below. Even after repeatedly being told to stop, they both continued, followed by a death threat from Vaggie, to which they responded with throwing more potato chips at demons on the street.

Charlie cleared her throat to get everyone's attention before beginning a speech.

"In 3 minutes, we will be in a whole new year. Before I get started, I really want to thank my mom and dad for coming to our party. I love you guys so much!" Charlie said, giving her parents a quick hug before continuing with her speech. "We've all had a wonderful year. The hotel is up and running, we have two wonderful patients, and lots of help. I'd like to thank (Y/n) and Domino for volunteering their time here. You've been a great help! I'd also like to thank Alastor for helping us. After all, he's the Radio Demon, and he's still taking time to help us!! Isn't that awesome? I'd also like to thank Husk and Niffty for helping. Without all of you helping, I have no idea what situation the hotel would be in. Thank you to Angel Dust and Kobe for staying here and giving us all a chance," Charlie paused for a moment before continuing, "This year has been a bit chaotic as well. Turf wars, a fight with a news reporter, and a few more mishaps. But, we've gotten through it, and there's a great year ahead!! I really hope that we can stop this next extermination and get demons into heaven. If we can do that, we can do anything. So...in conclusion...thank you all for supporting the hotel! I hope we all find happiness, luck, redemption, and maybe even a li'l bit of love!" She glanced at you and someone behind you, then at Kobe and Domino.

You made an attempt at casually turning around and glancing behind yourself, and not-too-surprisingly, there was Alastor. Did Charlie look at him? You and Alastor exchanged a glance before you turned back around to look at Charlie.

"I hope you have a happy new year, and an eternity more!" Charlie said before looking at the clock tower. She then started counting down with the rest of the demons.

"10!"

"9!"

"8!"

"7!"

"6!"

"5!"

"4!"

"3!"

"2!"

"1!"

"Happy New Year!!"

Husk had countered that with, "Fuck the new year," before drinking more alcohol, and shoving Angel away, who was trying to kiss him.

Charlie shot some fireworks into the sky before kissing Vaggie (which was a really adorable thing to see), and you were surprised when you felt someone pat you on your head, and you looked to see Alastor giving you a cute smile. You smiled back before getting distracted by Charlie squealing. You looked at her, and she was staring at two demons very excitedly.

When you looked at the two demons she was looking at, you didn't even know how to respond.

It was Kobe and Domino.

And Domino was kissing Kobe.

"WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK, DOMINO!?" you shouted, staring blankly at the two demons.

Domino broke the kiss and looked at you with a challenge in their eyes. "Now you have to kiss Alastor."

You could barely even bring yourself to respond sensibly. "WHAT THE FUCK YOU MOTHERFUCKING DILLWEED!?"

Domino laughed. "I kissed Kobe, now you kiss Alastor!"

"No! What the fuck!? You could've picked anyone, ANYONE, but you picked KOBE!? Please tell me this is a fucking joke!" you facepalmed.

"Oh, honey, how I wish I could," Domino told you with a smirk.

You stared, trying not to say something you'd regret later or slap Domino. You turned to Alastor. "Please kill that soggy blue towel."

"Why are you asking him for help?" Domino asked with prying eyes.

"Because he's the only person here who can fucking destroy that failed attempt at a Blue's Clues parody!" you snapped.

Domino looked at you with a deadpanned expression and gestured to Lucifer. "Have you forgotten he's here?"

"Do you think he'd kill that rotten jar of blueberry jam for me?" you asked skeptically.

"Well, why would Al kill 'im for ya?" Domino asked in response.

"B-because...um...he's the only serial killer I know personally!" you said.

Domino looked at you doubtfully.

"Either that or I kill that blue waffle myself!" you responded.

"Chill, okay? You can't really get mad at me. In fact, you should respect me! I've got the balls to actually admit if I like someone!" Domino said.

"No! No, no no! Nononono! You do not like Kobe! Please tell me you don't like Kobe!" You put your hands on Domino's shoulders and looked at them straight in the eyes.

"Only if you say you like Alastor," Domino responded, pushing your hands off their shoulders.

"Fine, I like Alastor, as a friend!" you snapped.

"Fuck dat shit," Domino said with a laugh before turning away and walking towards Kobe.

You stared after them. How the hell did they fall for that blue douchebag? Sure, they were both assholes, but what about all that 'opposites attract' bullshit?

"Are you okay?" Charlie asked, a concerned expression on her face.

"Yeah! I'm fine!" you laughed, glaring at Kobe.

Charlie gently grabbed your arm and made you look at her. "I know it's bothering you, but it's really not your place to get mad at them. People fall in love unexpectedly, you know," she said, leading you over to the edge of the balcony and leaning on the railing. She looked at you with a patient and wise sparkle in her eyes. "For some people, it happens quick, for others it takes a long time. For some people, the other person is someone that's not really good for them, but they still fall in love. If Domi's making a mistake, it's theirs to make. They can take care of themself. They took care of themself for years before you got here, so they can continue to. If Kobe isn't the right person for them, they'll realize that eventually, and learn from it. Just try stay calm, okay?" She placed a reassuring hand on your arm and gave you a kind smile.

You sighed and looked at the city. "I just don't want to watch Domino make a huge mistake. They deserve someone better than Kobe. Kobe has a girlfriend anyways! Domi's already made a mistake there."

"(Y/n), you don't really think that Kobe's girlfriend exists, do you?" Charlie asked.

"Well...no. But there's also a tiny little possibility that she exists."

"He has no girlfriend. He hasn't for years," Charlie told you with a hushed tone, moving some of her hair out of her face.

You failed at trying not to laugh. "Years? Really?"

"Really," Charlie responded.

"Damn...kinda feel bad for that loser," you remarked.

Charlie smiled and looked at the pentagram in the sky. "Well, anyway, I guess the point I'm trying to make is that...unless there's a dangerous situation, you probably shouldn't interfere with Domi and Kobe. It's not really your place. If Kobe's the demon who can make Domi happy, then so be it. But, as long as you try not to get bothered by it, you won't lose focus on what's important to you," Charlie said before giving you a friendly pat on the back and walking away to Vaggie.

You let out a sigh. How were you supposed to just let your friend make a huge mistake? You knew for sure that Kobe was not the demon for Domi. You crossed your arms and laid them on the rail of the balcony and then rested your head on them. Domino was really screwing themself over on this one. Not to mention, you probably really overreacted. Well, you had an excuse. It was really sudden and stupid. 

What a chaotic new year.
