Tyler is a supporting character in Hazbin Hotel and a staff member in the hotel helping Charlie and Vaggie achieve their dreams and helping Angel Dust rehabilitation. He is also trying to find Yuri to make up what he has done.

Appearance

Tyler is a young man with short light grey hair with white spots on his bangs with white skin and grey eyes with one black scar under each of his eyes. He wear a white untucked button shirt with navy blue tie with a white jacket with some black strips on it. He wear a ripped navy blue jeans with a black belt and a white buckle on it with black leather boots. The are a total of 6 sash on his back coloured white and grey.

In his full demon form, his grey hair floats up and it turns white and the white spots becomes black. He will have black sclera with white colour eyes and his iris will turn red. His teeth will sharpen and his hands will have sharp claws. He will have a somewhat white dust which look like cocaine around him and his sash will sharpen.

In the updated version, he no longer has white spots on his hair. He currently has grey star shapes on his eyes. In his demon form, he doesn't have black spots on his hair as well as his star shape on his eyes turn into a slit shape like serpent Iris.

At night, he wears a long sleeve white baggy shirt with a navy blue line on the collar as well as black lines at the end of his long sleeve which covers his hands. He also wears a navy blue long baggy pants that covers his feet which has light blue lines at the bottom of the pant legs.

In the updated version, Tyler is able to change his Iris shape depending on his current mood.

In the chapter 'the show must go on', He was wearing a steel helmet made from angelic steel as well as long sleeve white shirt with a combat vest that has many pockets and wrist shields coloured black made out of angelic steel, he was wearing his grey belt and blue cargo army pants and his black shoes for his combat uniform.

Personality

Tyler is described as a hard working employer at Charlie's hotel and a good friend and co-worker. He is someone that is kind and patient with others despite Angel Dust's fight with Sir Pentious. He is willing to give up his life for someone and he wants to help others achieve their dream.

Tyler does have a kind heart but he tends to make reckless decisions when he is put under pressure and when he is stress and tends to lash out at anyone and it can usually lead to him hurting someone with his sash. However, Tyler would try to find solutions to any situation but would get sceptical about the answer especially if it comes from Alastor or any Overlords. It is also noted that he is scared of overlords due to their power and status.

He is also seen that is has absolutely hatred for the overlords due to their absolute power and ability making other sinners kneel to them. He hates that those demons are using their powers to intimidate and control demons hence why he avoids them.

Despite Tyler's patient demeanour, he does possess the ability to give hatred towards anyone. This is shown in the final chapter where he berated Lute and calls her 'pathetic' as well as taunts her with Vaggie. This shows that Tyler is not always a kind as he is and will be ticked off if his buttons are pushed too far.

However, Tyler does show a softer side to him when it came to Yuri, his ex-girlfriend. He is shown to deeply care about her wanting to know how she was. He also possesses great guilt due to his past with her and deeply loves Yuri. This led to Tyler being clingy to her and misunderstood that she wanted to be with him. Nevertheless, Tyler deeply cares about Yuri and even said that if Charlie were to have demons rehabilitate and send to heaven, he would want to help Yuri and send her to heaven to have a better life.

Backstory

Tyler was born into a rich and wealthy family but due to their neglect towards Tyler, he tends to have bad habits and it can lead to him having alcohol and drugs.

During school, he didn't have much good friends and only friends who would likely do bad habits. He isn't really friends nor disturbed Yuri but does feel sorry for her and genuinely wanted to be friends with her but is scared if he did, others would bully him too. Later on, his friends told him to date Yuri just for the fun of it and after he did, they went out together and over time, he genuinely liked Yuri but later on Yuri broke up with him due to her finding out he was only doing this for a bet.

After that, he fell into a world of drugs and self hatred of himself and have horrible mental health. It became worse after Yuri's death which led him to die due to overdose of cocaine and drowning himself in the sea a few months after Yuri's death.

In hell, he later on met Charlie and Vaggie who hired him to be Vaggie's secretary of Happy Hotel. He currently works there and help them with their client, Angel Dust while also looking for Yuri and try to be friends with her.

Later in 'the show must go on', it is revealed that Tyler was a former Angel like Sera and Emily but doesn't remember much about his angelic life however, he is able to remember Lute as he was her former superior.

Abilities

Sash manipulation- Tyler is able to control his 6 sashes and according to him, he is able to extend its length up to 20 meters. His sash is also sharp especially when he is in his full demon form and can absorb anyone in it leading to their death. It can also break anything that is solid.

Dust manipulation- he is able to summon dust what is cocaine on his hand or around him especially when he is in his full demon form which can make his opponents high and weaken their brain cells and nerve cells which can make them tell the truth.

Hand to hand combat- in the pilot, he and Vaggie punched a sinner and fought with Charlie against most of the demons in the news. He also fights with his spear against his opponent.

Illusion- with his dust, he can create illusions against his opponents.

Full demon form- he can turn into his full demon form when he is faced with a real threat however, according to him, when he first turned into his full demon form, it got out of control but he was able to control it after a couple of practice but only for a couple of minutes. According to him, he can't fully control his demon form but can for only 5-10 minutes. However, after fighting with Yuri, this gave him better control and experience as he currently can control his full demon powers.

Super strength- Tyler is generally quiet strong since he is able to break the demons bones and throw them against the walls and make it break. He is also strong enough to drag Angel Dust after his fight with Sir Pentious.

Super speed- he is fast enough to run across the room to reach Charlie's aid and drag Angel Dust out of the battle field.

Durability- he is able to resist several attempts of the demons punches and kicks and is able to fight back despite having being punched.

Spear summoning- his signature weapon is his spear which has a golden handle with some designs on it as well as the tip of it coloured silver platinum. He can make it summon using his dust coming out of his hands.

Healing- this ability doesn't come directly from Tyler but from Sara as she possess the ability to heal any wounds. According to Sara, before she became her physical current form, she has the ability to heal and after some practice, she is able to heal again. It is unknown if her healing ability can revive the lost souls or how her ability is there.

Flight- he is able to use his sash's to make a wing like Angel wing to help him fly.

Weakness

Physical

Exorcist weapons- just like every sinner, he is vulnerable to angelic weapons as this can lead to Tyler being injured and even almost killed him if it weren't for Sara's healing.

Limited durability- despite being durable, he doesn't possess that much due to his lack of strength.

Limited combat skills- unlike Yuri who possesses exceptional combat, Tyler is completely limited and only knows how to throw in a few punches which lead to him boxing his opponent instead of using fighting techniques like Yuri. This is also limited due to him always relying heavily on his sash.

Limited time on full demon form- unlike most sinners who can fully control their demon form, Tyler is unable to and is only able to control it for a few minutes before losing control. This have been reduced due to Yuri's help and short training however, Tyler still has problems with controlling it fully.

Psychological

Survivors guilt- it is seen that Tyler may have severe survivors guilt since throughout the series, Tyler feels guilty Yuri died which led him to believe that he doesn't want to live which led to his death. Not only that but Tyler is also shown that because of the guilt, it causes him to lose control and act reckless which led him to being injuring himself and others. This may also explain why he is unable to control his full demon form.

Drug addiction- it is said that Tyler does have an addiction to drugs when he was alive and currently as this causes him to have severe withdrawals which lead to him being tired and vulnerable. This also causes him to have insomnia.

Trivia

- Tyler died in December the same year as Yuri died only a few months after her passing.
- according to Tyler, he died because he felt like there was nothing to live for and he genuinely wanted to be with Yuri.

- he doesn't know where Yuri lives nor know what she is doing

- originally, his replacement is going to be three options for the creator, he was either going to be replaced by Yuri's friend, her bully or himself but the creator decided that Yuri doesn't have a friend, her bully can be introduced in Helluva Boss or in Hazbin Hotel depending on which episode comes out and which scenario is best so it left out with Tyler
- Tyler was going to be a girl named Angelina but changed since the creator wanted to tell about his side of the story
- if Tyler was a girl, he would be the colour orange and would have died of drowning

- he, Yuri and Baxter are somewhat similar such as, three of them died of drowning, they have a fish like appearance

- according to the creator, Tyler's death is partly connected with overdose since he overdosed himself with cocaine but it was near the beach and he fell in the water and drowned himself while on cocaine which gives him the ability to have both sea and drug ability
- the creator wanted his death to be similar to Angel Dust which is overdose but doesn't want to copy it and tries to make it more interesting and it comes up with both overdose and drowning.

- when asked if Tyler and Yuri were to have a fight and who is more likely to win and is stronger, it would likely be Yuri since she is an overlord and has more range combat abilities and did karate while Tyler is limited to simple fighting styles. Yuri can also us his illusion against him and if she plans her attack well, she can win easily. Another reason is that Yuri lived in hell more then Tyler, she is able to control her demon powers in her full demon form more better then Tyler as well as she works as an assassin and Secretary and getting training from her job from killing people and gaining experience while Tyler works as a hotel keeper and does not kill people therefore not getting much experience.

- if Tyler were to meet Yuri, he wanted to apologise and try to be friends with her.
- when asked what is favourite food is, he responded is soup such as mushroom, tomato, chicken, etc.

- according to the creator, if he died in the same year as Yuri, he might spend around a few years in hell and since Yuri and Tyler were graduating, so therefore he might be in his 20's.

- in Tyler's previous design, he was suppose to look gloomy with red eyes, black hair and some blue strikes. He has different appearance but this was changed due to Tyler looking dull and the creator wanted to give him more colours and more interesting appearance and his sash looks dull as well as this design wasn't interesting and the author finds it difficult to draw his baggy eyes and hair colour and his clothing is dull and not interesting. His appearance looked like he is in middle school and the author wanted him to look like he was in high school and more older and mature look.

- similar to Yuri, his sash has a demon who he can talk to. This was inspired by Daki's demon belt who she can communicate with in Demon Slayer.
- according to Sara's voice of the sash and the language spoken along with the accent, it's presumably that she is English.
- According to Sara, she was once married but it's is unknown who is her husband.

- Tyler's last name which is Coke is a reference to the drug he used for his death a reason why he changed his name to it. His real last name is WhiteBell

-Tyler was going to be straight but it is changed to bisexual

- in ' Scrambled eggs', Tyler said that he kissed a boy when he was alive and because of that, he realise he is bisexual

- in 'Radio killed video star', Tyler said that he has insomnia as he can only sleep for 3 hours and can function normally for those sleeping hours but it is unknown why he can only sleep for 3 hours.

- in the episode 'the show must go on', Tyler bleeds out blue blood

Hey guys I really hope you enjoy this book since this is a sequel to Helluva Boss. I wanted to have this book with a different character other then Yuri because if I did, it would be boring so I wanted to have Tyler's side of the story. I will add Yuri's bully in soon either in this book or in Helluva Boss depending on which episode it better and which scenario would fit it. Hope you like it.
