This is meant to be the booklet that appears in the plot of this story, the one the characters can read and where they check who's who in the world of phoenixes.

It is NOT meant to be a substitute for the characterisation of these fictional beings. Their names and descriptions will appear whenever they are needed in the plot. 

I only created this chapter for fun!  AND IT'S NOT AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE STORY, just like maps or glossaries. It's only meant to be reference material.

Phoenixes are cybernetic beasts. Definition of a cyborg: A cyborg, short for "cybernetic organism," refers to a being that combines both biological and artificial components. It typically involves the integration of technology, such as implants or prosthetics, with the body to enhance its functionality. Some phoenixes are part eagle, part machine. Some others are part bird, part machine, and part other animals like lizards.

Name: Thunderbreaker
Nameplate: PHOENIX01
Size: 25 feet long from head to tail and 39 feet wide from one wing to the other.
Colours: Grey and white feathers, red eyes.
Physical traits: A big and sturdy-looking eagle. 
Skills: With its large wings, it creates strong wind currents and a thunder-like noise. It uses those to crush its victims under the buildings it destroys.
Weaknesses: Robotic parts are vulnerable to shotguns and fire. Aim at the canisters on its tail and its body parts made of flesh and bone for maximum damage.

Name: Deepdiver
Nameplate: PHOENIX02
Size: 16 feet long from head to tail and 25 feet wide from one wing to the other.
Colours: Deep blue and black feathers, red eyes.
Physical traits: A crane-looking eagle. 
Skills: It dives into the water and emerges with its mouth full of scalding water, which it uses to shoot at its victims at full pressure.
Weaknesses: Robotic parts are vulnerable to shotguns and flashes of intermittent light. Aim at the canisters on the lower part of the belly and its body parts made of flesh and bone for maximum damage.

Name: Ironshaft

Size: 22 feet long from head to tail and 31 feet wide from one wing to the other.
Colours: Deep green and grey feathers, red eyes.
Physical traits: A vulture-like eagle. 
Skills: It crushes its enemies with its iron feathers and sharp claws.

Name: Lightspark
Nameplate: PHOENIX04
Size: 14 feet long from head to tail and 24 feet wide from one wing to the other.
Colours: Silver feathers, red eyes.
Physical traits: A swordfish-like eagle. 
Skills: It blinds its enemies for a moment with a bolt of lightning and then, it pierces their bodies with its sword-like beak.

Name: Neckbreather
Nameplate: PHOENIX05
Size: 20 feet long from head to tail and 32 feet wide from one wing to the other.
Colours: Dark grey feathers with some light grey streaks, red eyes.
Physical traits: A giant lizard-like bird. 
Skills: It sneaks upon its victims because it's extremely stealthy and then, it beheads them with the tip of its long, steel feathers.

Name: Steelvane

Size: 30 feet long from head to tail and 41 feet wide from one wing to the other.
Colours: Dark grey feathers, red eyes.
Physical traits: A pterosaur-like bird. 
Skills: It crushes its victims with its body parts after hitting them with its fireballs, lava spits, and basalt darts.
Weaknesses: Robotic parts are vulnerable to water and shotguns. Aim at the canisters on either side of its body and its body parts made of flesh and bone for maximum damage.

Name: Airshark
Nameplate: PHOENIX07
Size: 17 feet long from head to tail and 29 feet wide from one wing to the other.
Colours: Grey and blue feathers, red eyes.
Physical traits: A shark-like bird.
Skills: Shark-like phoenix with huge teeth and mouth, which it uses to spit out venom and devour its enemies.
Weaknesses: Robotic parts are vulnerable to fire and shotguns. Aim at the canisters on its tail and its body parts made of flesh and bone for maximum damage.

Name: Fogthicker
Nameplate: PHOENIX08
Size: 29 feet long from head to tail and 38 feet wide from one wing to the other.
Colours: Red-purple feathers, red eyes.
Physical traits: A huge bird resembling an animal-like firetruck, with a long neck.
Skills: It spits fire. It likes to aim at the water to evaporate it and use the resulting fog to hide and strike.
Weaknesses: Robotic parts are vulnerable to shotguns and water thrown at high pressure — only ice-cold, though. Aim at the canisters on its lower belly and its body parts made of flesh and bone for maximum damage.

Name: Bloodrunner
Nameplate: PHOENIX09
Size: 9 feet long from head to tail and 13 feet wide from one wing to the other.
Colours: Blue and green feathers, red eyes.
Physical traits: Hummingbird-looking phoenix.
Skills: A very fast phoenix with kills its victims by stinging them and drinking their blood.
Weaknesses: Robotic parts are vulnerable to shotguns and water. Aim at the canisters on its back and its body parts made of flesh and bone for maximum damage.

Name: Sonic Echo Ranger
Nameplate: PHOENIX10
Size: 20 feet long from head to tail and 30 feet wide from one wing to the other.
Colours: Red-orange feathers, red-golden eyes.
Physical traits: Eagle-like resemblance, but much bigger. Owl-like ears that bend back while flying.
Skills: The fastest and most dangerous phoenix there is. It attacks the Hovering Hive's protective dome with its sonic echo attack, launched from its mouth in the shape of powerful sonic waves. Once the protective dome is off, other phoenixes can enter the city. It kills its victims with its sonic echo attack as well. It causes people to bleed out their eyes and ears.
Weaknesses: None.
Both robotic and biological body parts are the sturdiest we've ever faced. No weapons developed and tested so far have ever worked.
