I don't know how you're going to take this. I have a really bad news" my heart was already beating at a high speed. Is he going to divorce me?

"Hayrah I'm getting married next month" he blurted out.

"You're joking right?" I said laughing hoping he'd start laughing any moment too. "No Hayrah I'm not." He bit his lower lip. I stopped laughing and looked into his eyes. I know it's his mom that planned all this. "Hayrah mom forced me to..." I placed my index finger on his lips "Sshh baby boo it's okay." I blinked back the tears that were threatening to cascade down my eye lids. My heart felt heavy. A knot tied up in my throat.

I stood up and hugged him. He was sitting down on a stool so I placed his head on my chest. We stayed there for some minutes before Maya decided to interrupt. "Mamii." Her mouth was covered with ice cream. I took a towel and wiped her mouth and hand.

Jabbar was just sitting there, staring at the blank space. I couldn't even read the expression he had on his face. I dragged a stool sitting in front of him "Abduljabbar" I called out. He looked up at me. "Can you please stop bothering yourself about it. Please baby boo." I held both his hands. "But..." I cut him off. "Hun I'm okay with your mom's decision. She's right, maybe I'm not good enough for you. You came from a rich family and I came from a poor family. We are two different people..." I wasn't done when he cut me off.

"Stop saying all of that please. Don't let my mom get the best of you, Hayrah. We are not different. You're more than enough for me. You're patient, nice, loving and caring. You raised our daughter in a good way. You have no idea how lucky I am to have you as a wife. You are the only woman I love and you'll always be the one" he placed his forehead on mine. "Don't let this ruin our marriage please hayrah. Please don't let my mom get in the way of our peaceful marriage. I promise you, I'll never let you down". I let the tears to roll down "Jabbar I'm scared, I can't leave you, I can't. Please don't leave me" I wailed. I was really in pain. My heart felt heavy. Like someone stabbed me with a knife.

"Ssshhh habibaty it's okay" he whispered in my ear. "I love you" I murmured. "I love you too" he replied. "Now please stop crying" he placed his forehead on mine, both his palm on my face. He wiped my tears. "Ok Maya let's go do your homework" I stood up picking Maya up. "But I don't wanna do it" she whined trying to wiggle out. I heaved a sigh "help me out please" I said to Jabbar. "Maya go and do your homework right now else I won't buy ice cream for you again" he said sternly.

She finally agreed to do her homework. I gave her a bath and dressed her up for bedtime. I made sure she was asleep before I left. I went to jabbar's room. I prayed isha before changing into my pajamas. "Since tomorrow is Saturday what should we do?" Jabbar asked. "I don't know. How about we go visit your sister" I suggested. Hidayah is jabbar's elder sister and the first born. She's so nice to me. Oh and did I mention my husband has a twin brother? Abdul jawwad, they look so much alike. I sometimes can't differentiate between the two of them. Jawwad isn't married yet.

Hidayah and jawwad are the only two that like me. But those twins and their mother. Lord! 'Ever since you came you bought sadness and depression to our house' that's what they always say.

"Hun" he called out. "Hmm?" I looked at him. "What are you thinking of?" He asked. "Nothing baby boo" I laid my head down on his broad chest. "Don't lie, tell me what you're thinking about" he stroke my hair. "Seriously nothing" I shrugged.

"I don't get what you're saying. So you mean you're going to marry lujaina the daughter of mom's best friend?That arrogant and rude spoilt brat" hidayah said pissed. So her name is lujaina. "I tried to talk things out with mom. It's even too late actually I can't do anything about it" he shrugged. "I'm going there tomorrow. I'm going to talk to her. I'll talk some sense into that old lady". All I did was just sat there looking at them.

"By Allah I hate how she treats hayrah. And those spoiled brats too. She teached them all this stupidity. I mean what has this innocent woman ever did to them". Have I ever mention that she's a talkative? "Hayrah don't let that so called lujaina ruin your marriage. Don't let her scatter your house. I know that girl can" she kept blabbing. All I did was smile.

We left the house after maghrib. I cut some fresh vegges for Jabbar for dinner cause he's a vegetarian. He doesn't eat anything that has to do with animals. "Here" I handed him the bowl of vegges. "Thanks Hun". I sat beside him on the sofa.

"Maami I can't find my teddy bear" Maya came running. "Have you asked ramlat?" I questioned. "I don't know where she ith" she pouted. "Ramlat!!" I called out and she immediately answered. "Help me look for Maya's teddy bear please" I said and they Both left.

"I have to go meet mom right now" he kept the empty bowl on the table. He was clearly frustrated with all what's happening. "Okay lemme go get your keys" I stood up. "Get your veil too, bring Maya with you" he said more like a command. "I'm not going to follow you" I smirked. "I wasn't asking for your opinion. It's an order, now go get ready please. And hurry". I heaved a sigh walking upstairs.

I came down all ready with Maya tailing behind. "Do I really have to follow you please?" I whined giving him the car keys. "Yes, now help me get up" he stretched his hand out. I helped him to get up before we went out to the parking lot.

We arrived in no time. I was so nervous. What will his mom say if she sees me? She didn't even ask to see me. We alighted out of the car into the house. My heart skipped a beat at the sight of his mom "Why did you bring her with you?" She asked pointing at me. "Good evening mum" he greeted ignoring what she said.

"Good evening mummy" I greeted squatting. "My son, let's go to my room. I need to talk to you privately" she said. "Whatever it is let's do it here, in front of my wife" he replied back. "Meet me in my room now before I lose my temper" she said sternly. She left the living room off to her room. "Just go, I'll wait for you here" I whispered. He smiled and left.

"Maami why does grandma hates you?". Oh great now this little girl has noticed the hatred mom has for me. "No baby she doesn't hate me. We're just... That's how she is" I don't even know hat to tell her. Thankfully, She didn't say anything again.

"Well! Well! Well! What do we have here"Aleesa said smirking . "If it isn't the pork that kicked us out of our brother's house yesterday" Aleena smiled, evily! "What the fuck are you doing here?" Aleesa asked walking close to me. "I... Look girls I don't want to fight please. Just leave me alone" I'm not ready for any stupidity. "Then get out of our house" Aleena yelled pointing at the door. "Now!!" Aleesa yelled.

I just sat there like a dummy, looking at them. Aleena picked my bag, she opened the door and threw it out. "Are you crazy? Why the heck will you do that kinda stupidity" they were getting on my nerves. Aleesa grabbed my wrist dragging me out.

They kicked me out!

I found a plastic chair and settled down with Maya on my laps. I don't know what I've ever done to this people to deserve all this hatred. Tears rolled down my cheeks. I looked at the sky, it was about to rain. "Maami let's go back in" she hugged me tight upon hearing the thunder storm.

"Maya I... We..." I don't even know what to tell her. And it's super cold out here. How can I go start knocking and expect them to let me in. "What the hell are you guys doing out here in this cold weather?" I turned my head to see Jabbar. I wiped my tears trying to hide the pain. "We were just..." He cut me short "you were what? The twins kicked you out didn't they?" He asked.

"Please Jabbar lets just go" I rose to my feet. "Don't even try to stop me" He went back into the house. He came out with both the twins. "Now apologize to her before I beat the hell out of you" he yelled. "We're sorry" they both said. They looked really scared. Yeah they're afraid of him. "Who even gave you the right to kick her out? Is it your house or our father's house?" He yelled again.

"What is going on here?". Oh lord, the boss is here. His mom! "Mom these two airheads kicked hayrah out" Jabbar explained. "And so? They did what they're supposed to do. Why are you girls kneeling down?" She asked looking at the twins. "Will you stand up!!" She yelled. They both stood up crying and went in. "Look, let me warn you. I don't want to ever see you here, ever again. Jabbar don't ever bring this girl into my house" she warned.

"Mom how can you say that? What.." He wasn't done when she cut him short "will you shut up!! Don't bring her here ever again and that's it" she turned and left. "Let's go home" he held my hand. The ride home was quiet.

I took a long relaxing shower. I wrapped my towel around my chest and came out. I dressed in my pjs. I checked on Maya before going to my room. I just want to be alone. I was having this mixed feelings. I can't describe how I feel.

"Hayrah" I heard a soothing voice calling. I smiled at him "hey". I sat up right. "Can we talk?" He asked. "Yes, sure. About what?" I questioned. He sat down close to me. I can smell his strong cologne. "Look I'm really sorry about what my--".... "Shh don't be. It's nothing, I get it. They don't like me and I don't blame them for that" I answered. "Don't say that please" he sighed.

I held his hands "Jabbar don't apologize for what you didn't do. No matter how they treat me, no matter what they'll do to me, the love I have for you will never decrease but increase. I know your mom wants me to leave this house. I know how she hates me cause I came from a poor family but please Abdul Jabbar don't leave me. Please!" I felt like my heart was being stabbed with a knife. I was really hurt and broken. Now if she separates us every bitter memory will come back crashing.

"I promise you Insha Allah I'll never leave. Stop crying please" he wiped my tears and hugged me. I felt safe in his arms. What hidayah was telling me about this lujaina is really scary. Insha Allah I won't let her to ruin my marriage. She won't achieve that goal!
