two.

"Did Liz get a new top?" Peter asked, "No I think she wore that before, but she never wore that skirt."

"What conversation did I just walk into?" Noah looked between Ned and Peter, "We should probably stop staring before it gets creepy." Peter noted.

"Too late...you guys are losers." MJ quipped, "Oo, I like you already." Noah stated sitting down, "Well then why do you sit with us?" Ned asked.

"Cause I don't have any friends." MJ explained, and Ned and Peter looked at her blankly, "Fair," Noah started, "Me neither...except some girl I met in the hallway earlier."

"You made a friend?" Peter asked, "Yes? Maybe? I don't know. Her name's Maddie."

"Mr. Stark owes me five bucks." Peter stated, "He bet against me making friend, how rude."

"Well you don't really seem like the friends type." MJ noted, "What does that even mean?"

Maddie must've spotted Noah across the room, because soon enough she was approaching the table.

"Is that a cheerleader?" Ned asked, "Walking this way?" Peter added, "That's Maddie." Noah explained.

"You're friends with a cheerleader?"

"Acquaintances, really." Noah corrected.

"Hey, Noah. Mind if I sit?" Maddie asked, "Go ahead," Noah stated, and Maddie took the seat beside her.

"So, it occurred to me earlier that the only thing I know about you is your first name, and that you're new. I figured we could take this time to learn stuff. I am a freshman on the cheerleading squad, my favorite color is green and I like photography." Maddie spoke, "Your turn."

"Oh, I'm also a freshman, I like reading, especially poetry, um my favorite color is maroon, I think that's everything." Noah tapped her fingers against the table nervously, "Cool." Maddie smiled.

Noah watched the Decathlon meeting, Peter had talked her into joining but now he was trying to back out.

"Wait, what's going on?" one of the girl's asked, "Peter's not going to Washington."

"No, no, no, no, no." the first girl quickly stated, "Why not?" the guy next to her asked, "Really? Right before Nationals?" Liz asked.

"He already quit marching band and robotics lab." MJ stated, "I'm not obsessed with him, just very observant."

"How about you new girl?" Liz asked, "Oh, I don't-" Noah started, "Yeah, maybe she should, I mean I've got a hot date with black widow coming up."

Noah was about to protest, I mean that was her mother he was talking about, Flash was clearly lying.

Someone at the table rung the bell, "That is false."

"What did I say about using the belle for comedic purposes?"

"Where are you going in such a rush?" Maddie arched an eyebrow at Noah, "Peter took off without me, I was just trying to catch up." Noah stated.

"He usually goes to Delmar's after school." MJ quipped somehow managing to sneak up on Noah, "Oh, is that a..." Noah trailed off.

"It's a deli," Maddie shrugged, "I can walk you there, if you want?"

Noah smiled softly but shook her head, "Maybe some other time, I should probably just head home."

"Okay." Maddie nodded, "I'll see you, tomorrow then?"

"Yeah."

Noah's eyes lingered on Maddie as the girl walked away, "You like her." MJ noted, "What? I do not."

"Sure you don't. See you tomorrow, Noah."

"I see you didn't get eaten alive." Tony quipped as Noah walked into the lab, dropping her backpack on to a chair, "Shut up." she muttered.

"Oh, and sense you're so, so worried about my education you should know that all the classes you registered me for I took a year and a half ago." Noah twirled her pencil around, "Wow, smarter than I thought I guess."

"Yeah, yeah." Noah shrugged, "So what about you? What have you been working on all day?"

"Ok, so hear me out, the Iron Man suit, but like retractable forms around your body from one central piece." Tony spoke, using hand motions to fully explain, his point, "Sounds awesome, Can I help?"

"Sure, but one question first," Tony started, "Yeah?"

"Peter? Where is he?" Noah shrugged, "I'm not sure, last I heard he was going to some deli."

"I'm off to India tonight, in like an hour...I guess what I'm asking is for you to keep an eye on him." Tony spoke, as the two of them tinkered with bits of tech, "You do relaize that under normal circumstances most people would be asking Peter to keep an eye on me, I am a year younger than him."

"Yeah, well you're mature, and an ex-assassin so...I think you can handle an off the wall high school vigilante."

"True." Noah nodded, "Also, the move out of the tower is being finalized between today and tomorrow, so living locations might shift around a bit."

"I figured."

Noah found out an hour later that this job of keeping an eye on Peter was going to be slightly harder than anticipated, as she spotted everyone's favorite friendly neighborhood Spider-Man flash across her screen.

"Oh this is going to be so much fun."
