🏔️ Elias admittedly never thought much about sexuality. he'd found himself having weak crushes on some of the men and older women that came by his families small territory near the Yukon...of course, he kept these feelings to himself. Modernly, he identifies has biromantic and asexual. He's admittedly too lazy for that level of passion and finds himself happier with a more domestic, romanticized type of relationship.

GIFT.

🌩️ Elias was given the ability to have never ending stamina. He never truly gets exhausted. His body stores fats that later burn when in extreme distress or whenever enough adrenaline rushes to his brain. The fats burn and provide him with seemingly never ending energy. This, of course, makes it more difficult for him to sleep or rest his body and mind properly, leading to him constantly feeling foggy-headed while his body is perked up has ever. Don't get me wrong, he WANTS to sleep. He just - can't. He absolutely despises the fact that his body practically forced him to stay awake; he's naturally grumpy, and the lack of sleep isn't helping his case.

🎙️ Elias is rather stocky - he has a bearish build. Fairly muscular with a good level of chub. His arms are muscular enough while he's naturally just leggy. Work in the yukon gave him a pretty good build, although extra body mass for warmth never hurt anyone. He's not particularly hefty enough to be considered plus-sized, but instead rather dad-bodded with enough thicker muscle for show his more bearish attributes. Additionally, Elias is veiny and has particularly large hands and feet, like a puppy.

🎙️ Above his right brow, an accident from a fishing incident where the line flicked upwards, the hook scratching his face. It starts at his eye and pulls midway towards his forehead.

🎙️Multiple moles scattered around body. Their typically small dots that have already two or one inches between each other. He has multiple on his face and near his right hip specifically.

🎙️Naturally, he was given a bit more modernized clothing to better fit in with the humans. He formerly would wear fur coats and men's blouses with sealers boots most often, but not he has a much more lazy style. Cozy, comfortable...

🌩️ Elias willingly can shift into a polar bear. It's massive, standing at eleven feet on its hind legs with dark skin and slightly dirty, fluffy white fur. It has a large snout and small, almond shaped black eyes and round little ears with large, wide paws with black pads. His polar bear form is also rather stocky, like his regular form.

OVERALL DESC.

🎙️ Elias is a sour grump.

The definition of a old man stuck inside a youthful body, Elias doesn't usually have anything nice to say about anything or anyone. He's snarky and self-aware, poking fun at both others and himself.

While he is a lazy, unmotivated and annoying bastard, he's not stupid. He's perfectly logical and smart, but much to complacent with people thinking he's an idiot. It takes a certain burden of always being the smartest in the room off his shoulder - he likes being considered normal and not having to keep up certain impressions. He's learned that being lazy, stupid and boring was always better. It felt better, at least. He's rather selfish in that way; keeping what he knows he can use to help to himself. Not motivated to show enough concern for others or himself, even if knows he has the capability. Like I said, Elias is self aware like that.

While in his sins has a unmotivated, selectively useless and lazy individual, he also is a rather good physical support figure. He's cuddly and enjoys warmth or even just being touched or even spooned, even if his new found abilities make it even more difficult for him to get a proper amount of rest. Affiliated with that is his constant neediness, has much has he tries to hide it. The only reason he even puts up with the group is because he likes being around people - even if he's not contributing in any way or fashion... just existing and "people watching" is always a fascinating hobby for him. Putting himself in scenarios and imagining what he'd say.

He's very detail driven and is often a bit obsessive over the smaller things in life. Looking at snowflakes up close. Bugs crawling around the grass - making sure they don't crawl onto his skin...

Eli enjoys praise, even if he knows he doesn't deserve it. A hug, a pat on the back, or getting his hair tousled is enough to perk him a bit. Part his lips and make him flush up.

BACKGROUND 💤

FAMILY.

mother - Isla Cartier. A mourning widow turned solo business woman after the death of her husband. She taught Elias how to read, write and negotiate. Isla always knew her son was incredibly intelligent and constantly motivated him...he was raised has well has any blue blooded royal. She held a slight preference for her youngest child, considering he reminded her best of her Édouard.

father - Édouard Cartier. He passed away from an unknown illness before Elias was born. Based off what his mother told him, Édouard was a charming family man with a warm heart and an head that was always running with ideas. He'd made close knit ties with the Huron-Wendats of the area. Has Isla said, Édouard was a perfect gentleman who tried to balance both parties. His death shook all those he affected, but inspired his now widowed wife to continue pushing forward and handle the family's fur trade business herself, no matter what some of the local men thought.

eldest brother - Arthur Cartier. Arthur was always pretty cruel towards Elias, especially after both there parents, who had Elias well in their mid forties, passed away. Arthur took over the families fur trade business and didn't take no for an answer. He especially picked on the mourning Elias and constantly berated him. Arthur always thought his mother went mad after his father died and incorporated that madness into Elias. Books didn't help one learn about sealing or producing quality furs.

older sisters - Genevieve, Celine, Charlotte and Collette Cartier. They always fussed over Elias when he was younger, often making him their little 'servant'. He was like their own little puppy and essentially a breathing, walking babydoll toy when they were younger. They still babied him a bit, knowing their mother would've wanted him to be well; not refusing to even pick up a book. They didn't support his sudden laziness and lack of motivation to even help his siblings, but they did pity him. They felt the same way when their father died, whom Elias never got to meet.

pet goose - Clancy. Clancy, like most geese, was an absolute menace. He'd stay the summers getting his meals at the Cartier household and later fly down south for the winter. He was meant to be a nice Christmas dinner, but Elias and the girls got a bit too attached when they were supposed to be fattening him up. Isla let them keep him. A red ribbon was tied at his left leg to make identification easier, and surely enough, after he was released, Clancy came back ever spring, summer and fall.

BACKGROUND.

Elias was born into a family of four traders, living far away from the locals near the ice flats. His parents were both well into their late forties when he was born. His father passed away two months prior to his birth and his mother was left in charge of the business, based off Édouard's will. Arthur, who was already in his twenties, was fairly upset, believing his mother was still in a state of shock and wasn't competent enough to handle a business dominated by men of the French or Indigenous kind. Typically, women were only to be involved in marriages to secure bonds between fur traders.

Elias was homeschooled by his mother and taught to read, write and negotiate. By age ten, he was already quite intelligent and puppy-like. His mother and brother took him a long to see how trading worked and allowed him to meet some of their trading partners. He found fun playing with the children of the other traders and often developed small crushes, although it never ended up going anywhere.

Tragically, his mother eventually also passed when Elias was around nineteen - leaving the business to Arthur until Elias himself turned twenty-five. Arthur's ideas were more crude and forceful. His trades often unfair and not more split. He'd essentially buried the Cartiers into a deep, dark hole due to his own greed. He blamed Elias, who'd since then lost most of his motivation and spent his days laying in bed, holding his mother's coats and smelling them. He grew irritable and admittedly selfish. He knew he could've helped, but he didn't. He wanted Arthur to suffer the same pain he was.

Annoyed, Arthur took Elias sealing in hopes of waking him out of the pit he'd "allowed the family to fall into". An argument formed, Arthur snapping his fishing line out of the water has he yelled. The line scratched Elias' brow and made blood run to his eye, masking vision difficult. In a state of panic and fury, Elias argued right back and fell into the sealing hole. He sank underneath the ice cold water, Arthur not being able to reach him in time.

Elias' body was found around two months later, having floated about until it eventually rised near a different sealers hole. He was brought to the Cartiers and had his cremated ashes thrown out to sea, which the Cartier siblings all decided Elias would approve of.

CAUSE OF DEATH.

🐻‍❄️ Elias was almost a pompous British knight. Kudos to everyone who voted for him to be a canadian fue trader instead!

🐻‍❄️ Elias spent most of his time in hell cuddling and sobbing, surprisingly enough. He found a smidget of comfort, although it didn't soothe the feeling of black tar sticking to his skin and permanent heat prickling at him. Tears seemed to cool his face down at the slightest.

🐻‍❄️ If he was born in a more modern time, he'd absolutely go for dilf & milfs. all his past crushes were either around his age or a little older.

🐻‍❄️ Elias has RBF / RDF.

🐻‍❄️ Ik he doesn't seem that bad, but imagine a life guard letting you and your family ( slowly ) drown because he's projecting his own pain onto you. That's basically what he did.
