My brother cheered as I walked out the door to meet up with Steve at the mall. Steve was waiting for me in the driveway. His hands were tucked in his pockets as he waited against his car. "Hey, thanks for inviting me." I smiled. "It's no problem, I realized we haven't really hung out on our own in a while." Steve said as we got in his car. My heart started beating so loud, I was scared he could hear it.
Steve backed out of my driveway as I looked into the windows looking out into our front yard. My brother's familiar figure casted a shadow on the ground since he was in front of a light. "I still can't believe my brother got in a relationship before I did." I groaned. "Technically, we dated in middle school, then you dated Billy for a week. So technically, you did cheat on me!" Steve says, bringing up our conversation from the Byer's house during the demo-dog raid.
"Shh, don't live in the past." I joked. Steve laughed beside me as he drove to the mall. "So I lied about the cheating thing, I guess I didn't stay faithful." I laughed. Steve pulled into the mall and got out. I followed his actions and met up with him at the front of the car. Steve held his large hand out for me. My lips curled into a smile before interlocking our hands and walking hand in hand to the theater located inside the mall.
Holy shit, I was actually holding hands with Steve Harrington. What were our intentions? Did we plan on becoming a couple? Did we even think we can work out with everything that happened a couple weeks ago?
"Angel?" Steve waved his hand in front of my face. My blue eyes snapped up to meet his brown eyes. "I asked you what you wanted as a snack? Are you okay?" He asked. I studied my surroundings to see we were standing outside Scoops Ahoy. "Yeah! I just have a lot on my mind. Sorry about that." I laughed before turning my attention back to the tall brown eyed boy in front of me.
His eyes softened as he looked down at me, almost as if he was scared I would break. "Why are you looking at me like that?" I questioned. He shook his head as his eyes hardened again. "No reason. Now, let's get you some snacks." He says before leading me to the movie theater a couple stores down from Scoops Ahoy.
Steve orders candies as I get our drinks. He joins at the soda station with various candies in his hands. "I know you like most of these, so I got them." Steve laughs as I put a lid on our drinks. "Thanks, Harrington." I smiled before he led us to the theater. As we sat down, a group of kids ran in and sat a few seats behind us. I immediately recognized Max's red hair and Dustin's hat. I let out a soft groan before turning back to Steve.
"I have to use the bathroom, I'll be right back." I told him before standing up and walking away. After making sure he wasn't looking, I ran up the steps to the row my brother and his friends sat down on. I crouched down to my brother's level since he was sitting on the edge.
"What are you idiots doing here?" I whispered-yelled at them. "We're not spying! We wanted to see the movie!" Dustin lies. "You hate Anthony Michael Hall." I glared. Dustin sighed before Max started talking. "I actually wanted to see this movie, if it helps." She laughs. I smile at her before straightening my posture. "You guys better not mess with us." I scowled before running back down as joining Steve.
"Sorry it took so long, I ran into someone I knew." I apologized. "It's all good." Steve smiles before turning his attention to the credits on the screen. "Oh! It's starting!" I exclaimed before turning my attention to the movie.

Steve and I walked out of the theater hand in hand. As we threw away our trash, I saw my brother and his friends sitting at a table in the main area. "I had a lot of fun at the movie." I tried to advert us from going in their direction. I lead us upstairs and walked around, looking at stores. "Me too, I didn't think I would like it." Steve chuckles as we swing our hands. "Then why did you suggest to see it?" I asked as we stopped by a railing, looking out over the court. Our hands detach as we look over the court. "Is that your brother?" Steve asks as he points to their table. They were already looking up at us. "I'm going to kill him."
"Don't. Let's just stay up here." Steve shrugs as he tries to stop me from attacking my brother. I knew he was here, but watching every single move I make with Steve was starting to piss me off. Steve's arm bolted out as I went to move around him and stopped on my stomach. He looked over at my small frame and softened his eyes. "It's fine. We can just go somewhere else." Steve says.
I softly nod as he takes his arm away from my stomach and grabs my hand. He leads me down the stairs and to his car. We sit in the car and wait for them to come out. Steve starts the car and pulls it up near the entrance, but far enough where they can't notice it. Steve and I get out and sit on the hood, waiting for them.
Mike, Max, Lucas, Dustin, and Will walk out of the mall in attempt to find us. Thank god the moon shadowing off of the mall's roof kept us hidden. "Looking for someone?" Steve asked. They twirled around before their eyes landed on us.
"We'd appreciate it if you didn't watch our every move." I said as we stood up and strolled over to them. "I was taken here against my will!" Will and Max laughed. We turned to Mike, Lucas, and Dustin.
"Let me guess, Dustin thinks that Angel and I are secretly dating and not telling him, so he pulled you guys along." Steve says. "But-." Dustin started. I already knew what was going to come out of his mouth by the look on his face. He was about to expose my secrets.
"Don't finish that sentence." I scowled at my brother. My brother quickly stopped talking. "For the last time, Angel and I are just friends." Steve says. Ouch. We were just acting like a couple, Why is he messing with my feelings?
My eyes lowered to the ground as everyone continues talking. As we were talking, the power went out in the mall. Steve pulled me into his arms as we watched the power flicker. "What just happened?" I questioned as I heard screams inside. "Power went out." Lucas rolled his eyes. "Shut up, Lucas." I rolled my eyes. "I meant why." I continued.
The power turned on a few moments later. Steve let go of me and glanced to the ground. "I just want to get home." I sighed. "I'll get you home." Steve softly said before leading me to his car.
