Chapter 1.

Keigo isn’t sure what possessed her when she decided she wanted a little bird of  her own, maybe it was because she was lonely, or wanted to hear the pitter patter of little feet, or have a little nestling she could spoil rotten, but here she finds herself outside of Kendo Orphanage, fifteen minutes early for her scheduled appointment.

Looking herself over, pulling her wings around to make sure the feathers were presentable, she folds them back, brushes her  fingers through her  feathery hair, and reaches out for the door handle. Opening the door, she's met by a woman, who’s eyes widen in surprise, before she bows quickly. “Hello, Takami, it’s a pleasure to have you here with us today.”

She smirks slightly, she loves it when she gives his true name and everyone’s always so surprised when she shows up, like, oh my god, it’s Hawks!

“It’s a pleasure to be here.” She bows in return.

“Thanks for making an appointment
despite the late request.”

“Of course.” The woman straightens. “I’m Kendo, yes, the same as the name on the orphanage, it’s been in my family for generations.” She turns and gestures for her to follow. “We received your request for a boy, so we gathered all of our boys in the day room, right this way.”

The hero follows after her, looking around at the bleak décor, or, in this case, lack thereof. The day room is the size of an average living room, within are about a dozen or so boys, ranging in ages, one catches her eye

Or rather three
as soon as she enters the room, sitting all on there own, in a pair of small shorts, are three little boys , two laying down the other hunched over reading a story book in the far corner, what sticks out are the long lumps running down there back's, she knows what those are, she knows what those mean, she’s seen them in pictures from his own childhood.

“Them",  she points to the trio of small children.

“Who are they?”

Kendo follows her gesture and purses her lips. “That’s izuku, akatani, and yuki we don’t have a surname for them, it wasn’t left in the note that was left with them when we found them on our doorstep as  infants. They're quirkless.”

“No, they're not.” She shakes his head. “they're not quirkless.”

“Well,” the caretaker intones sharply. “they've never exhibited signs of having a quirk, the only thing out of the ordinary are those two lumps on there backs, we haven’t the slightest idea what they are.”

“You’ve never taken them to be examined?” Keigo asks back just as sharply.

“You see  kid's with two long lumps on their backs and don’t think to get them to the doctors?”

“I don’t believe you understand, Takami.” Kendo was really getting on her nerves and she's only been with her shy of three minutes. “they're  quirkless.”

“I don’t think you understand, Kendo.” She

snaps back, just seeing the childrens back, She’s surprised they’re not breaching yet, it’s got to be excruciating, which spoke volumes that the triplets weren't screaming bloody murder. “Those lumps on there backs, those are wings, avian quirked individuals aren’t born with wings, not fully grown wings, they grow in. If you’d taken them to a doctor, you’d know that, growing in wings is excruciatingly painful, they tear straight through the skin, there on the cusp of breaching, they should be in the hospital, or at the very least, a make shift medical area here.”

“Well,” the woman sounds as though she couldn’t care less. “We have plenty of other children here, we can’t spend all that time on three kids.”

She turns a sharp glare on her and takes satisfaction when she swallows nervously. “I’m taking them, send the paperwork to my agency, they  needs to go to the hospital before they starts breaching.”

She stammers as the hero steps forward.

Akatani jolts when a gentle warm hand touches the back of his neck, startling the other's as they look up, relieved that it didn’t touch his back, because that would hurt, everyone else does it, and it hurt, it hurts bad.  looks up from his story book, turning around, his eyes widen when he meets the gold eyes of the hero everyone recognizes.

"You Hawks!”

“I sure am.” Keigo smiles at the little nestlings. “I’m Keigo, what are  your name's?”

Just then the small triplets shot up, quite like hatchlings as they excitedly stand up.

"I Izuku!" Shouted one with a mop of white hair, speckled with  small black spots.

"Yuki!" Shouted the next, what really surprised Keigo were his eye's, ears and teeth. His eyes were similar to her's same with the golden bird of prey like eye slit's. Next she noticed were his ears, they were elf-like and had small feather fuzz around them, and his teeth were small sharp and rounded almost giving him a raptor like appearance.

Izuku:" he's tani-chan!" Shouted Izuku, pointing to his black haired counterpart. Just like yuki, he as well looked similar to his brother's only difference was his hair which was black and peppered with white spots, and his eyes while similar to Keigo's were red.

Akatani simply gave a small wave and smiled.

Keigo:" hello younglings" Keigo said as she crouched down,

"do your backs hurt little one's?"

"Bad! It bad!" Izuku exclaimed while yuki and akatani nodded there heads.

Yuki:"owies!"

Akatani:"owies are no fun"

"Bad owies huh? They are no fun indeed" keigo said turning around to meet the trio of mixed eyes.

“I can take you little one's somewhere that will help with the ouchies, do you wanna come with me?”

The triplets whimpered as they straightened out there backs, and izuku nibbled on his lip

"Come, back?"

No, little nestling's.” Keigo shakes her head. “You’ll come live with me.”  she will admit, she nearly doubled over with a cuteness overload when they all shared the same happy and excited smiles

"Okay! We come!"

Keigo:" cool, im going to pick you guys up and I'll try to be as gentle as possible."

The small boys nod there heads, lifting there arms, whining when they each are carefully lifted up off the floor, which is concerning, in the new mom's opinion, that alone should have made them scream, and  they lean into the hero’s shoulder when she curls an arm under them “Come on little guy's, let’s go to the hospital they can make the ouchies stop"

The two year old's start breaching half way to the hospital, and with that, they do scream. It echoes in her ear, and Keigo grits her teeth as she wills herself to fly faster nearly stumbling slightly in a sloppy landing, she runs into the entrance of the hospital, tells the nurse at the desk that the  trio of two year old’s wings are breaching, and is immediately rushed back to an empty room.

The toddlers latch on mini talons digging into her shoulder, as they scream into her chest, akatani being silent but whimpering his hands closed up into fists. The nurse and doctor in the room instruct her to lay on the bed, seeing as to how the triplets aren't going to let go anytime soon, so she does, practically jumping into position on the bed.

The doctor introduces himself as he prepares the pull the small wings forth. Yamashita Benjiro.

The skin the triplets  back are soft, softer then usual to allow the wings to come forth when they were full and ready to, any scratch, even one as light as a feather, would tear it to shreds.

There tears soak into her shoulder, as she moves along, as it was, it appeared the toddlers had been tearing through the skin some time before she'd met them, just not enough for any physical sightings of the wings to be seen.

Keigo carefully pulls the fledglings in as close to her as she can, tucking there heads into the crook of her shoulder, and an arm around his there waist, keeping them in place while she gently peered over there shoulders.

Naturally, things moved right along, Yamashita has helped a great number of avian quirked children grow in their wings, the toddlers starts breaching half way down there  left side, there sobs growing hoarse pushing and pulling against the hero’s shoulder at the same time, little fingers gripping at her shirt, talons digging into her skin.

She could directly understand what they were going through, she went through it herself and it was in her opinion near the worse thing that happened to her during her childhood.

It was painful to listen to, as it was to witness, and Keigo was sure that the children would need a large cup of water to sip at after this to soothe their raw throat, and a good nap, growing in wings was exhausting work, and cuddles, because cuddles made everything better.

Yamashita glances up at her, and she nods, pulling the toddlers in closer, tightening his grip around the back of their heads and their  waist's  he steels his heart for what the doctor’s about to do, watching the man gently place the palm of his right hand flat on the remaining half of the left lump, the nurse doing the same with yuki and akatani. They  screams into her shoulder. Yamashita presses down on the lump the nurse following his movements, and slowly moves there hands downwards, to push the wings out and break them through completely.

Their screams, muffled by keigo echo around the room with yuki seemingly screaming the loudest, their skin tore at the pressure exerted on it and their left wings falls outwards, limply falling to the side.

Giving them a moment to catch there breath,

Yamashita pulls away slightly to examine the extent of the right wing’s breaching. keigo meanwhile presses her lips firmly to the fledglings sweating brows, perhaps before their bath they can take a nice hot Epsom salt bath. “One more little one's, only one more.”

They were weakened by the exertion of gaining their one wing, physically and mentally exhausted akatani barely managing to keep his head up. But izuku and yuki still managed to push weakly at the hero’s shoulder her chest, and shake their heads. They didn’t want to do it again, it hurt, and they didn’t like it.

“No! No more! No! Kei, no! Hurts! Ouchies! Please!” Painfilled teary eyes turn, lifting, meeting the gold eyes of there new mommy. “Kei! Kei, make him stop! Hurts! Make stop!”

Keigo longed to hold each of them, and curl them up in her own wings until there crying sobs have quieted down. But all good things in due time.

“I’m so sorry, little one's.” She whispers into the nestlings ear's. “It’ll be over before you know it.”

Now that the left wing was free, they couldn’t allow the right to remain inside, it was not as far along as the left had been,

And the doctor and nurse both grimace as they place there hands, palm flat, against the top of the right lump, and pushes down on it firmly. The toddlers talons dig in sharply into the different parts of her body, Keigo hisses as she feels small drops of blood drip down her shoulder, holding him steady as he arches away from the touch. Their sobs and screams picking up once more as the doctors hand downwards, forcibly pushing the right wing’s out.

As soon as there second wings fall free, their sobs subside. They were completely worn out, Akatani nearly passing out from the process his eye's nearly closed, keigo slowly positioned herself where she could reach all of them, slowly rubbing there backs and calmly saying soothing words.

Keigo:“There you go, it’s all done, they’re done, no more. It’s okay, you’re okay, no more, I promise.” a small whine courtesy of akatani was her response.

Yamashita waves at her, gesturing to the towels sponges and bowl of water.

She nods, this was an intimate act, the first grooming, sort of, the first time bathing the fledgling’s wings, an act usually reserved for the mommy and or daddy.

That's her, she's the mommy. And a proud one at that.

Keigo:"the hard parts over now little one's,now I’m going to clean them.” just as they start she's quick to reassure them.

“No, no, it won’t hurt, I promise. It’ll feel nice."

The nurse hands her a sponge and rolls the table with the water and towels closer. As she started to wipe  away the blood and other fluids, and picking some of the clumps free, yuki simply purred.

true to her word, it didn’t even hurt a little tiny bit.

It did feel good.

They sighed softly, the tension slowly falling away  melting more fully against their new mommies chest.

Keigo wipes in small soothing circles as She clears away the splattered mess on their sore back, careful not to disturb them as each drifted between the stages of awareness and sleep; smiling over their heads when they tuck in closer making a soft cooing sound of comfort, little fingers knead into her chest.

Working her way through the set of small wings, over every feather, taking the time to ensure that nothing was left untouched. Her little one’s wings were breathtaking, and though the color was just starting to settle in, and the true masterpiece wouldn’t set in until they shed their baby-soft downy and grew in their ‘big boy’ feathers, he could already tell they were going to be magnificent.

Izuku's wings were snow white, with small splotches of black spots.

Akatani's were different, being a cool midnight black with small white splotches.

Yuki's was similar to izuku's wings, but his were a bit more longer and thinner. Like a bird of prey.  But the tips of all their wings surprisingly faded into a light cool blue.

Retreating back to her humble abode, her penthouse apartment, she carries the exhausted fledglings through the threshold, back to the master bathroom, connected to her own bedroom, and turns on the water in the large jacuzzi tub, pouring in an appropriate amount of Epsom salt, she waits until the tubs half-filled before turning on the jets, low setting, anything too rough would be uncomfortable for the little one's right now.

Carefully, holding the sleepy nestling's up with her feathers, she pulls her jacket and t-shirt off, quickly changing into a pair of basketball shorts, and plucks the sleepy toddler's out of the air, calling her feathers back to her wings as she steps into the tub.

Slowly lowering  herself to sit on the inbuilt seat, she reaches out to turn off the water with her foot and sends a feather to press the play button on the music player on the vanity counter, filling the bathroom with soft soothing music.

Settling the toddler's against her chest, she pours handfuls of warm-hot water over his new wings, the warmth soothing the aching muscles.

There was an adorable cooing sound from each of them, there wings fluttering slightly in contentment.

Izuku lifts up his head, smacks his lips sleepily and mumbles a soft. “Love you, mommy"

Keigo smiles widely, nuzzling the little bird’s head lightly, She likes that, mommy'

She loves it. “Love you too, little one.”
