"Tony Dinnozo!"
Chapter one:The Very First Time
‼️Trigger Warning ‼️

Olivia knew this wouldn't last. She knew the pain would go away but right now she was annoyed

She just started this job and she was already regretting it.Since the moment she arrived at the crime scene she knew this was going to be a challenge. Being the new agent on the team was going to be something she wasn't familiar with.

The strawberry blonde had worked the same job forever before finally deciding she wanted a new change of scenery. Of course not after Gibbs made her leave. He said it was time to move on and after everything that went on she had to admit he was right she did need to move on. She broke a very frustrating rule to break Rule# 12 "never date a coworker" he always told her that.

But Olivia couldn't help who she fell in love with. She couldn't help it. Tony Was charming. He made her feel like she was the best thing  in the entire world and she needed that, after all she did date bad men. Terrible men. They always hated her job, they didn't think a woman should have a higher paying job then they did.  They expected her to stay hidden to lay low. But Olivia was a force.

She kicked ass everywhere she went and maybe that's why she was drawn to her coworker. He understood her job and how hard that could be.  He didn't expect anything from her, but herself. She enjoyed his company and his witty jokes, and the fact that he was undeniably in love with her. Gibbs told her they needed to end it, that Tony was not right for her and she could do better.

So here she was in Hawaii getting ready to meet her new teammates. She pulled up at the crime scene explaining that she was the governor's task force. The officers told her she had to wait for the rest of the task force.

"Hi I got your message." An Asian guy said in a white shirt.

"Who's this?" The blonde guy with the tie says.

"I'm Olivia Sanders. Today is my first day." She says with a smile hand outstretched. He shook it as she offered her hand to everyone else.

"You're here pretty early." The blonde guy says as Olivia smiles through her aviators.

"I don't like being late." She explains earning an approving nod from a tall brunette.

."Good. Come on, let's start processing."

"Governor's Task Force. We'll take it from here. Chin, Kono, stay on the SUV. Danny. Olivia and I are on the van."

The trio began looking at the van. Danny went to go get more information as Olivia bent down. Her combat boots crunching  against the sand.  She pulled out a pencil looking at the shell casings a bit closer. As the blonde returned pulling her out of her thoughts

"SS-190 armor-piercing rounds. These guys were definitely well-backed." She says earning an amused looked from Danny who takes a seat in the van.

"Definitely not a local job. What do you got?"

"This van-- reported stolen two days ago. Two dead guys in the SUV: hired muscle from Bruddah's private security firm."

"That's interesting."  Steve says as Olivia rolls her eyes looking at the knocked over car next to the van.

"Why's it interesting?" The blonde questions

"This is density-layer ballistic glass, laminated onto a shield of resilient polycarbonate."

"Why can't you just say bulletproof?  I mean, how hard is that?" The blonde suggested looking over at the woman she just nods agreeing with him.

" Get Chin to call the security company, find out where they were going." Steve orders

"Guys, Roland's last call was at 6:15 a.m. Same time he was abducted." Kono says leaning through the broken van window.

"Who did he call?"  Olivia asked.

"His son, Evan."  Kono replied looking through his phone.

" We got a witness."  Steve says everyone started heading back to the Governor's task force offices.

Governor's task force office

"Evan, do you know where your dad was going this morning?"

"No. I mean, he probably told me, but I was only half listening. It was some big meeting." The boy says with a sigh.

Danny and Steve talked to the boy while Olivia began unpacking her office. She figured it didn't take three people to talk to a teenage boy. When she finished she joined the crew again. As a blonde woman runs through the room.

"Evan. You all right? I'm so sorry. You okay? God, you must have been so scared. I can't even imagine it. You know, you're gonna come and stay with me until they find him, yeah? Okay." The woman says as the rest of us leave to give them privacy.

"Who's that?" Steve asked.

"Name's Natalie Reed. She's Roland's girlfriend." Kono explains.

"She have any guess who'd want to grab her boyfriend?" Danny says as Kono nods.

" No idea." She says.

"All right, stay close. If this is a kidnap and ransom, then the abductors might try to make contact, and if they do, I want someone who can run the trace." Steve orders as Olivia nods. Her hair laying gracefully at
Her sides.

"Okay." Kono replies

"Olivia go with her." Steve says as both woman nod turning around to leave before the blonde speaks up.

"Hey, listen. Give us a couple hours, we'll run down some leads. We will relieve you. I promise you, you won't miss your graduation."

"It's cool, brah." Kono replies with a sly smirk.

" Grabbed the video footage from a traffic cam near the crime scene. I'll mine it, see if there's anything on there that can help us identify the shooters."  Chin says holding up a flash drive.

"Did you get in touch with the security company that Roland hired today?" Steve asked.

"Yeah, I spoke to the owner. Turns out, Roland hired the bodyguards for an appointment he had this morning." As

"Where were they going?"

"Hickam Air Force Base."

"Do you know anyone at Hickam? A stupid question. Of course you do."

Lowry Residence

Kono and Olivia have been watching Evan and Natalie. Kono's phone rings, and Olivia moves over to stand beside her as she answers it. "Evan, you got to eat something", Natalie tells Evan in the background, as if he could possibly be hungry right now. "Hey," Kono says to the caller. There is a pause, and Kono nods, "He give you anything?" She asks, moving away from the living room. Olivia returns to the living room. The biggest thing for her right now is making sure Natalie and Evan are safe. Evan only shakes his head at Natalie's repeated attempts to
feed him.

After a minute, Natalie looks up at me. She's frustrated, concerned. "Can you please find out if they learned anything from the phone call?" Olivia nods, and heads down the hallway to talk to Kono.

"Thanks", Kono is saying into the phone with a half-smile before hanging up. "Any news?"Olivia asks, brow furrowed. She shakes her head.

"Nothing concrete."

"He won't eat. He won't talk. I can tell Natalie is really worried about him. I am too," Kono frowns. A thought crosses her mind, and turns down the hall to address Natalie, "Natalie, do you have any paper?"

A few minutes later, Kono sits on the couch across from Evan, folding a piece of paper in her hands. Olivia paces, almost certain this is a waste of time.

"What are you making?" Evan asks Kono.
" A crane," Kono answers, looking up with a smile as she works the origami, "In Japan, it's a symbol of peace, honor and loyalty. I once had to make 1,000 of them for my cousin's wedding in Kyoto."

"Whoa. 1,000?" Evan's eyes are wide. I laugh internally.

"Yeah," Kono replies, "It's kind of a thing. You ever, uh, been out of the country?"

"No. We never go anywhere," Evan replies, shaking his head, "Hawaii's the farthest from Virginia we've ever been."

Olivia decides it's time to say something. She's getting him to come out of his shell, now we can ask some real questions. "Do you, um... do you recognize this guy?" Olivia holds up a picture of Sergei on my phone.

"No. Is he the man who took my dad?" Evan asks, voice brittle.

Olivia nods, "We think he's one of them, yes. We got him. You sure you've never seen him around? Anything could help..."

Kono interrupts, flashing her eyes at Olivia as she does, "We got him. And we'll get the others, I promise you."

"Do you think I could try to make one of those?" Evan asks, nodding to the origami crane in Kono's hand. She smiles.

"I'd love to teach you. Let me get a piece of paper." Kono gets up to go into the kitchen to look for paper. She stops briefly to whisper in Olivia's ear as she passes.

"Let's not push him too hard, okay? He's been through a lot already."

Olivia nods tersely. Kono goes into the kitchen, and Olivia takes a seat on the couch beside the one Evan is sitting on. The two sit in silence. Evan listens to music on his headphones. After a few minutes, a crashing noise comes from the kitchen, then another. As Olivia leaps to her feet, Kono calls, hoarsely and panicked.

"Olivia!"

When Olivia gets into the kitchen, Kono is reeling on the floor. Natalie stands over her, a large kitchen knife in her right hand. She looks up as Olivia enters, stepping back and readying the knife to fight again.

Olivia steps forward, left leg slightly in front of the right, hands up, feet shoulder width apart. Natalie comes at her with the knife. Olivia knocks the blade aside and delivers a hard right hook that sends Natalie reeling backwards. She doesn't hesitate to press her advantage, and moves forward again to close the distance and follow up with a cross, then another hook. Natalie jabs again with the knife, and Olivia wrestles it from her. The knife falls to the ground. Natalie push-kicks Olivia, knocking her backwards.

She's scared, Olivia thinks, she realizes I'm not gonna go down like Kono. She wants to keep distance between us. I won't let her.

Natalie is retreating as Olivia advances again. Olivia takes a step forward, and Natalie lashes out with a left handed jab that strikes Olivia's chin. Natalie's good, Olivia notices, very good. But she's fought better, and won at that.

Natalie kicks again, and Olivia catches her leg and sweeps her to the ground. When Natalie tries to climb to her feet, Olivia kicks her hard in the ribs. Natalie falls, then kicks Olivia's shin and regains her footing with the time the low-blow buys her. They are at the end of the hallway off the kitchen now; Olivia has driven Natalie back quite a ways. Olivia slips under a punch and round-house kicks Natalie through the bamboo wall and onto the deck by the outdoor pool in the Lowry family's backyard. Natalie is on her feet again, and grabs a piece of bamboo to swing at Olivia.

Desperate, Olivia thinks, and slow. She catches the bamboo and drives it upwards to catch Natalie in the chin. Natalie falls back into the pool, and Olivia jumps in after her. As Natalie tries to come up for air, Olivia grabs her shirt collar and punches her twice, powerful hockey-punches. Natalie is barely clinging to consciousness, and Olivia shoves her head under the chlorinated water.

"We need her alive, Olivia!" Kono has found her way to her feet and stands on the deck behind Olivia. Olivia turns to see that her partner is bleeding heavily from her scalp, but seems otherwise unharmed. Olivia nods, her rage abating somewhat as she realizes Kono had only been stunned, not stabbed, and she pulls Natalie's head out of the water. Natalie coughs up pool water and gasps weakly for air as Olivia drags her back to the deck and pulls them both out of the pool.

As Olivia grabs Natalie's collar with both hands and pins her to the deck, ready to interrogate, a raspy, serbian voice interrupts.

"Let her go, now."

Olivia and Kono turn to see a short, well-dressed middle-aged man standing in the hole Olivia had made in the wall, holding a gun to Evan's head. Olivia releases her hold on Natalie and stands, glaring at the man with the gun. Natalie climbs to her hands and knees, still coughing.

"We're going to take a ride," the man says menacingly in his thick Serbian accent, "all of us."

On the Road

Kono is driving, Olivia handcuffed in the passenger seat. Natalie and the man, both armed, are in the back with Evan. They exchange a few words in Serbian, then the man addresses Kono,

"Turn Left ahead."

Nadia is clearly annoyed with the man, "You shouldn't have involved the boy."

The man shrugs, " Well, you should have done a better job. You could have convinced him to sell it on the open market."

Natalie spits back angrily in Serbian.

"More time?" The man asks, incredulous, "It's been months. He was about to hand it over to the U.S. military."
Evan looks up at the man, scared and angry, "You've been watching my dad for months?"

Kono's phone rings. "It's my boss," she says, "If I don't answer, he'll know something's wrong."

"Tell him everything is fine," says the man, "or the boy won't see his next birthday."

Natalie holds the phone up to Kono's ear. Kono answers it, "Steve," after a moment, she shakes her head, "No," another pause, "Yeah, everything's great."

Kono waits while Steve talks on the other end, then responds, "Yeah, Olivia and I may even take Evan out to Mokuleia Beach for a swim." A short pause. "Exactly."

The phone beeps as Natalie ends the call by smacking the "end" button on Kono's head.

"I know what you're doing,"Natalie says, breaking the phone and tossing it out the window of the moving car.

The serbian man nods, then speaks to Kono, "Now, take a hard left."

Dillingham Airfield
After about fifteen minutes, the car pulls up next to a warehouse. Natalie and the serbian man lead the three captives inside at gunpoint. Inside are several armed men, and, in the center of the warehouse, a desk with a computer. The man who sits at the desk turns as the five newcomers enter. He is well dressed, but beaten and bloody. It's Roland.

"Dad!" Evan cries, recognizing his father.

"Evan." Roland begins to stand, and is struck in the back of the head by the butt of one of the warehouse goon's guns. He falls with a grunt.

"No, Dad!" Evan tries to run to help his wounded father, but the serbian man restrains him.

Gasping, Roland notices Natalie with confusion as she tapes Olivia and Kono to folding chairs. "Natalie. What are you doing?"

"She's one of them, Dad!" Evan interjects. A brave kid, Olivia thinks.

" No. No, no! No, that can't be!" Roland cries, but the serbian man just rolls his eyes.

"Oh, shut up!," he turns to Evan, "You see, your father has not been very cooperative, but now, with you here, maybe you can talk some sense into him, huh? Tell him to do what we ask." He yanks Evan's hair as he speaks, and Evan winces.

"All right, all right. All right, all right. You win. I'll do what you want. Just please, don't hurt my son!" the man kicks Roland hard in the ribs, sending him sprawling.

"Dad!" Evan screams. He's still at that age when a boy sees his father as a god, and it must be a harsh awakening to brutal reality, seeing god beaten before one's eyes.

"Leave him alone!" Kono yells. Olivia just spits on the concrete floor. She's dealt with men like this before; she knows better than to try to reason or appeal to their humanity. Either the rest of the team will find them in time or not. If they don't, Olivia would rather die with her silence and dignity intact; let no one say she begged for mercy.

Evan tries to help his father again, and again the serbian man restrains him, "Shut up! Sit down!"

He pants after wrestling the boy back into his chair, then slowly pulls Roland back up in front of the computer, "Okay. Okay. Okay, okay. Come on. Now, get to work."

Roland begins to work. He has suffered beatings and threats and torture, and he has not broke. He is a brave man, but he can not withstand seeing the same brutalities inflicted on his son.

"Make sure the radar is down until they land. Got it?" the man snarls. Olivia notices Kono looking around, She seems to have noticed something.

" What are they making him do?," Evan asks, "As soon as he's done, do you think they'll let us go?"

Olivia shakes her head. "No, they'll probably keep us until they get clear of U.S. jurisdiction, then put bullets in our heads and leave our bodies in a ditch somewhere."
Evan gasps with horror, and Kono glares at Olivia, a look that says, "why the hell would you tell a kid that?"

"Hey," the serbian man snarls, moving towards Olivia, "I told you all to be quiet."

"Hey, leave her alone," Kono interjects sharply.

"Huh?" The serbian man turns to Kono. She doesn't flinch.

"I said leave her alone, scumbag."

The man backhands Kono hard, and she falls, still taped to the chair, to the warehouse floor.

Natalie addresses the man in serbian. The man shakes his head.

"Nah, not yet. She's a good hostage. My hostage! Get her back up," Natalie pulls Kono back to an upright position, and the serbian man turns back to Roland, "Hey, get back to work."

Kono grunts as she's yanked back up, and Natalie leans down to whisper in her ear, (grunts) "You're dead. It's just a matter of time." Natalie is angry, her face badly bruised and her voice full of poison. She's had a rough day.

Kono is wincing and grimacing, but Olivia notices a light in her eyes. Looking down, Olivia notices the nail in Kono's hand, already put to work against the duct tape around her wrists.

A few minutes later, they hear a plane land outside. Momentarily, two asian men in business attire enter the warehouse. The tape on Kono's wrists is nearly in ribbons, barely holding.

"Where is it?" the older of the two asian men asks the serbian man.

"Let's see the money first," the man replies. He believes in nothing, he just wants the money. The two asian men each put down black duffel bag and the serbian man kneels down to count the money inside.

"Looks... looks like it's all here. This way, gentlemen." He leads the asian men into the warehouse. He takes them over to the computer and the hardware with it.

"Here it is, as you requested," He tells them. the asian men look over the hardware, seemingly happy with what they see.

"Dad?" Evan says to his father, voice shaky. Tears roll down the boy's cheeks.

"Yeah?" Roland's voice is low, tired, defeated.

"I'm sorry I called you a dictator."

In spite of everything, Roland cracks a half-smile, "It's okay. It's okay."

Olivia rolls her eyes at the sappiness. As she does, they catch something moving in the window of the warehouse door. Someone moving.

Steve. Olivia smiles. A few minutes later, she notices him moving on the railing above them. Danny too. Both have their guns drawn. Looking to her left, she can see Kono has noticed as well. The two women exchange a brief grin.

"Hey, both of you," Kono addresses Roland and Evan in a whisper, "Hey, listen to me. Get ready to hit the ground."

"When?" Evan asks.

"You'll know when. Just do it."

"You want to take um out?" the serbian man asks Natalie, who nods with a bloody grin. He nods back.

"Take her out."

Natalie draws a handgun as she strides over to Olivia, an unending string of serbian curses spilling from her lips. She stops and raised the gun. Olivia stares down the barrel, inscrutable, fearless.

"Well", Olivia says cooly, pausing to spit on the ground before her before continuing. She wishes that Kono had passed her a nail so she could also have freed herself, but there would have been no way to do so without alerting their captors, "I suppose me with bound hands and you with a gun makes a better match up, doesn't it? I mean you might actually win that one," she smiled, "Unfortunately, I don't think I'm the one you gotta be worried about right now.'

It happens fast. The sounds of gunfire shatter the air. Kono leaps from her chair to tackle Natalie and wrestle the gun from her. Olivia had been disappointed in the way Kono had let Natalie get the best of her earlier, but Kono makes up for it now. They hit the deck, and goons fell around them. McGarrett swings down from the rafters on a chain, firing all the while.

Showboat, Olivia thinks, but if she was being honest, she's glad the cavalry's here.

Serbian screams, more gunshots, a burst of flame as a bullet caught a propane cannister stashed in a corner of the warehouse.

"Everybody out now, now, now, now!" McGarrett screams, "Let's go! Let's go!"

Danny is there behind the captives, cutting their bonds with a folding utility knife. They race from the warehouse, barely making it out before the whole thing bursts up in an explosion of flames, throwing them to the ground outside.

They all lay on the ground for a moment, Roland crawling over to check on his son, "Hey, hey! Eddie, Eddie, Eddie," He relaxes, realizing Evan is okay, "I got you. I got you."

"Hands up," McGarrett says and Danny repeats, both approaching the serbian man with their pistols trained on him, "Stand up," McGarrett continues, "Hands behind your back."

"I got you." Roland repeats to his son. Both are still prone, as if they can't believe the ordeal is over and feel the need to keep low, lest some new threat take one of them.

"You two had me worried for a second there," Chin tells Olivia and Kono as they stand. McGarrett and Danny had raced to catch the bad guy, but Chin thought first of his friend's safety.

"We had it all under control," Kono replies with a smile. The dried blood covering half her face seemed to say otherwise.

Five-0 Headquarters

They wait in uniform for Kono to come out of the bathroom. The men keep asking if Olivia is okay, but Olivia is more worried about Kono.

When Kono finally comes out, Chin speaks first, a few kind words in Hawaiian. Steve hands her a small white cardboard box, nodding for her to open it. "Go ahead."

Kono opens the box, and Chin nods, viewing the contents, "Kel-Tec nine-mil. Very nice."

"Makes for a good backup weapon," Olivia adds.

"Keep it in your belt, your ankle strap. Doesn't need a separate holster," Steve says in an even voice.

"Thanks, boss,"Kono says, with a faint half smile.

"I'm sorry you were put in danger today," Steve says, glancing at Olivia as well as he speaks, "Both of you. We care for each other like a family, so please know we'll always do everything we can to protect you."

"Here," Danny says, handing Kono a small pendant. "He's the patron saint..."

"...of law enforcement. I've seen cops wear 'em," Kono finishes the sentence.

Danny nods, "Pretty sure with that roundhouse kick you're never gonna need it. My sergeant gave me one when I graduated from the Academy. I've always kept it on me. It's always kept me safe," he pauses, then nods to Steve, "That is, until I met him. You really proved yourself out there today."

Chin smiles, "You've earned this. And for the record, I wouldn't have missed your graduation for anything. Now, raise your right hand. I solemnly swear... to faithfully support the Constitution and laws of the United States of America and the state of Hawaii."
"I solemnly swear to faithfully," Kono says, repeating after Chin, "support the laws and Constitution..."

McGarrett approaches Olivia after the graduation. She sits on her desk, clenching and unclenching her fist, looking down at her scraped and battered knuckles.

"The movies make it seem like punching just hurts the other guy. But that's not true, is it?"

Olivia shakes her head, lip curled in a scowl. "Nope."

McGarret settles in beside her on the desk, "And it never stops hurting does it? You'd think your knuckles would get desensitized eventually but..."

"They don't."

He nods, slowly reaching into his pocket and retrieving a box like the one he had given to Kono. He hands it to Olivia.

"Good thing we got other ways, huh?"

Olivia briefly glances inside the box. It's another kel-tec, as she had expected. "Thanks."

"I'm not gonna regret giving you that, am I?"

Olivia shakes her head.

"You know, Kono said you just about killed Nadia. Said you wouldn't stop."

For the first time during their conversation, Olivia raises her gaze to look at McGarrett, "I thought she had killed Kono."

"That's part of the job. You can't let it cloud your judgement like that."

"My judgement wasn't clouded", Olivia said, frowning, "You said we're a family, Steve. What would you do if you thought someone had killed a member of your family?"

Steve smiled, hopping down from the desk to leave, "no, I don't think I will regret that I gave you a gun," he shook his head still grinning, "But Danny will."

It's then that she realized that her life was changing. This was going to be her everyday and she had to show them she could do it. That she was here for the job. Even if it meant fighting for my life on every case.
