The next day Chara woke up feeling nervous, they got ready for their journey ahead and meet up with Toriel in the living room, Toriel gave them a slice of pie before leaving and handed them a backpack fill with supplies

Toriel: here you go my child, I know its not munch but you will need these on your journey there
Chara: oh...! Thank you so munch... You didnt have to
Toriel: its nothing at all my dear its the least I could do... Ah Asriel and I have been talking last night and we think...

Toriel slowly takes Asriel off her shoulders and gently place him onto Chara's shoulder allowing him to wrap his roots onto their arm

Toriel: it would be best if he come with you
Chara: huh? Are you sure? You said the journey would be dangerous!
Asriel: and thats exactly why I have to come too, I can't do munch in this form but i can still help a little
Toriel: we just want you to be safe dear... The royal guards has been growing in strength with the years go by... So please... Stay safe...
Chara: I will Ms. Toriel thank you for caring for me so munch...
Toriel: yes... Be on your way now... The guards are on break at this hour so now is the perfect opportunity for you to leave
Chara: if I get out of this I promise I'll find a way to visit you

Chara and Asriel wave goodbye to Toriel as they open the door and walk outside letting the little snowflakes gently embracing their arrival as they fall from... The earth? How is it snowing down here...

Chara: ok... Where to now?
Asriel: this is the entrance to Snowdin a town must be nearby, we should go there for shelter before the guards come
Chara: alright

They hurry and leave to find a small town in the snowy woods, Chara takes the moment to look around at their surroundings, they are surrounded by snow and trees, its a magical phenomena on its own, walking deep into the woods they found a bridge up ahead to cross but as they are approaching the bridge, Chara have a strange chilling sensation as if someone was looking at them

Chara: hey Az... Do you feel like someone is watching us?
Asriel: huh? What are you talking about I don't feel anything
Chara: ah maybe its just the cold getting to me...

Chara reached the bridge and was about to cross it when they heard a crack sound like someone just step on a twig, they turn around and saw a tall skeleton figure standing behind them, the skeleton was wearing a long dark blue coat with black pants and blue shoes, it looked like it was looking right at Chara with its empty eye sockets and suddenly pupils appear in the eye sockets out of nowhere, scaring the 2 as they hold in a scream

???: human... Don't you know its rude not to greet a new pal...? Here...Shake my hand
Asriel: no don't do it you fool! Its clearly a trap!!

Chara slowly hesitates to raise their hand and reach for the bone hand awaiting theirs to shake and when Chara finally holds the skeletons hand to shake it...

Asriel: aggghhhh! God dammit why did you do that?! Aren't you sick of that 1 damn joke Sans?!
Chara: Sans???
Sans: hahahahaha sorry kiddo couldn't resist the joke, ah the good old whoopicussion in hand trick! It always works hahahahaha anyways how are ya kiddo? Names Sans I see another human has fallen down here
Chara: hold on! How do you 2 know each other?!
Asriel: ugh there's no time for that, look bonehead help this kid get to Snowdin quick before the guards comes and sees us!

Sans holds Chara hand as he teleports them to the inside of a bar? It was a warm and cozy place with a lot of customers relaxing and drinking with junk food, Sans walks up to the bartender with his hands in his pocket, Chara follows him as he sits down on the chair

Sans: hey Grills the usual for me please and maybe grab some fries for my new pal here, eh just put it on my tab
Grillby: alright, that is if your ever gonna pay me your debt
Sans: hahahaha don't worry I'll pay when I get the chance
Chara: this place feels really nice, is this a bar?
Sans: something like that, Grillbys is the best bar in the whole underground, the only competition being Muffets spider bakery
Chara: does it have actual spiders in it?
Sans: yeah all her bakery goods are covered in spiders but thats her main reason for her putting them at such a high price, trust me tho you wouldn't want to taste any of those
Chara: are you drinking ketchup???
Sans: yup best ketchup in town, want some?

Sans: so what brings you to the undergrounds? Why did you come here?
Chara: well... The people in the city always tell scary stories about this mountain and how our ancestors once banished monsters down here... I was curious so I wanted to check out the place... I didnt thought I would actually fell inside...Or meet actual monsters... Its all still really new to me

Chara: ....I really don't know what happened down here but... Before I leave... I think I want to help

Asriel: are you insane?! If a single guard catches a wiff of your existence then they'll serve your soul to my dad on a silver platter!! You can't stay here!
Chara: I know but I want to help! Its clear that everyone is suffering down here and I want to do something to be able to help! Even if I get injured...
