[38] (Part 1)-A Jovial Journey!

The morning was young as always, the skies grey, and the smog of the city as dense as ever.

The wafting, curious scent of incense filled the spacious yet cluttered tent. Trinity was strolling around, interested by all the dusty glass bottles and grinded bone meals. 'There's not much to grow plants around here, except fruits I guess. But who am I to judge?' Trinity wondered.

"Well? Awrrk! You didn't come here for sightseeing, did you Mascara?"

"Pecker, I'm more deadlier than any of my companions I'll have you know - BUT! Before you go squawking more, I'll get to the point."

The blind soothsayer chuckled.

"You already know my question nonetheless..." Trin's voice died away, unsurprised.

The wispy blue energies traced upon the very tips of Onin's slim fingers. The moncaw spoke away for her, "Why should you worry about that?"

Trinity blurted, "Jak's supposed to do this alone! I, erm, I mean that... These are trials. You gave them for a reason." He picked up a skull of an extinct lurker subspecies animal.

The elderly woman lightly laughed and continued to smile. Pecker sighing but smirking. "Does it matter? All ends at the same point. And as violent as the other one may be, she's right on how time works."

With a few swirling gestures, three lines branched off like trees. Trinity had to step backwards slightly as they all tilted their heads skywards. Dusts of azure lights painted the interior of the tent, Trinity's mask glowed due to the magical display.

They all watched the lines grow thinner and thinner until-

"It's a tree..." Trin stated. He looked back to Onin, seeing that it looked as if she was holding the very base of it. All the roots lead to the seed-like illusion upon her palms.

"They all lead to same point squwaark!" Pecker grinned and waved him off with his feathers, "It shouldn't matter."

All the lights drippled back into her hands and Onin gently clasped it, the tent becoming dim once again.

"I can't even fathom how you can still smile knowing the future, or horrific possibilities, Onin." Trinity crossed his arms and turned away.

She hummed. "Because, Dark-and-Gruesome, arrk! You keep focusing on the dark probabilities and consequences." The bird pointed an accusing finger, "You should've learned this far long ago, awwrk!"

Trinity leaned dangerously closer, making the moncaw instinctively fly away into a nearby pile of ancient tomes. "You know my full story. Perhaps it was wrong of me to tell."

Onin, as silent as always, made a thin and firm line of her lips. Pecker perched upon her head accessory, his feathered fingers interlocked with each other. Looking as if the parrot-monkey animal was plotting something. "You forget that I've been with Onin for as long as I can recall. As a result... We know far more dark prophecies than you, Mascara. Arrk! But we don't focus on it!"

Trinity looked as if he was heavily contemplating something.

The flapping feathers ceased and Pecker regained his composure after Onin scolded it for making a mess of feathers everywhere. "Ehem! You get the point." The blue dust faded into a sickly purple as Onin made a claw-like grasp. "If you ever feel lost..."

"...I know what to do."

The air was as tense as the violet atmosphere in the room. But it all vanished.

Onin still had a firm line, but she smiled again. Pecker shaking his head and snickering as if a joke was being told secretly between them.

"I'd hold onto the Dagger if I were you, squwak!"

The man in the red mask sighed, but smirked. "Sure thing. Thanks." As he left the tent, he muttered. "As much as I want to have El grill you..."

"I HEARD THAT AARRK!"

"Mascara" laughed.

[Back at the UG Hideout. . .]

"How much did you drink?"

"Hell if I rememb—" Elise doubled over and spewed up her 'reminder' of her terrible addiction. Jak winced at the sight but continued to hold Elise's hair back. The poor girl was doubled over the toilet seat for the past half hour, Jak rubbing her back and holding her hair out of her face.

"You should really quit." He scolded and squinted at her.

She could feel his eyes on her, even while her back was turned. She wiped her mouth and flushed, sitting back against the sink. She glanced at Jak and smiled weakly. His expression was stolid, but she could sense the concern.

"Nah, it's one of my favorite past times." She turned to the sink and began brushing her teeth.

Jak raised an eyebrow. "You're an alcoholic."

"And you're a blonde."

"What?"

Elise spit toothpaste out of her mouth. "I thought we were stating the obvious. Keep going."

Jak grunted in slight annoyance and handed Elise a small rag. "Do you always drink that much?"

She paused and looked down at the sink. It was silent for a few moments. "No."

Without another word, Elise walked past Jak. He didn't bother to follow her as she made her way to the 'meeting room'. There, Torn was viewing the city map and mumbling incoherent things to himself. From what Elise could see—he looked aggravated. She stepped up to the table and leaned against it.

"Hey."

"Mh." Torn didn't look up.

She smiled, "Good morning to you too, Captain Ass."

He visibly tensed at the nickname. "If anyone else starts calling me that, I might put a bullet to my own head." His voice being extra raspy and rough. "Listen, I don't have any important missions but Trinity does at the moment.

Elise and even Jak glanced at each other, it wasn't hard to notice how frequent it was during Jak's recovery. "Any idea where he is?" Daxter pathetically crawled up to Jak's shoulder armor (or tried to) and had his friend pick him up.

Dax was far too beat physically and mentally to have the energy to yell retorts. "Hgnn..."

Torn shrugged his shoulders, "Heard him mumble about Onin..." He took out his knife to examine its keen edge. "But it's just a visit. I reckon the mission he's got is related to that."

Jak stretched, "Good. I was starting to realize why Trinity felt so eager to get out on missions."

"You two are so horribly alike in the worst ways possible."

Elise let out a soft laugh at Torn's remark. "Best and worst ways, honestly."

She stretched her arms before crossing them over her chest. "Ya know, you could've woken me up earlier."

"And have you puke everywhere? I don't think so." Torn grumbled.

Jak and Daxter let out snorts and soft fits of laughter whilst Elise's features flushed a pink. "Hey! I don't normally do that!"

"Normally. Not that it never happens. How much did you have to drink?"

"I don't know! Like four or five..."

"Shots?"

Elise looked down like a guilty child. "Bottles..."

They heard a loud crash and scraping of metal outside, startling everyone. "There's the devil."

The door was opened and in came Masky, who was massaging his back. Torn shook his head as Trinity walked past, waving his hand.

Elise chuckled, "Old man."

"Yeah, yeah." He straightened up, "Forget that, we..." Trinity scratched the back of his head. "Do you want to come El- Elise? Dax, you don't look too good yourself..."

"Jak'll... Jak boy here, hnn, will need someone like me!" The ottsel mumbled as his face was planted into the clothing.

"You still got quite an ego, I see."

Jak had his eyebrow perked up, "So what do you have for us?"

"It's the artifacts Onin wanted us to get."

Elise tensed up at the mentioning of her name and smiled weakly. "Yeah." She nudged Trinity with her shoulder. "You need someone to make sure you don't break your hip." She grinned.

Torn snickered and covered his mouth with his hand, a grin prodding his lips. He shook his head and looked at Jak. "I'll let you go on this mission—"

"Yes!" Jak fist bumped Daxter.

"If! You stay with Elise and Trinity."

"What?! The orange lightning needs NO babysitter!" Daxter shouted, "ESPECIALLY not... Her..." he flinched as Elise gave him a mischievous grin.

"What's wrong, Dax? Metalhead got your tongue?" Elise laughed when Daxter huddled into Jak's shoulder.

Torn rolled his eyes at Daxter's response. "Either you go with them, or not at all until you recover."

Trinny shook his head, "Stop treating me like I'm 100, Precursors!" He had his Snipertron slung to his back and he was stretching his arms and shoulders. "It'll be a long drive like to the Water Slums or Pumping Station, but westward from here." He hummed, "And more grass. I'm sure you'll recognize it, if my estimation is correct- you'll see. C'mon." He said quickly and didn't waste a second, leaving the others a little perplexed.

There, they took the 4-seater parked out back, and Trin was the driver.

"I've gotten enough gloom and doom for my taste around here lately." He stated. "There's still more things to do, I'm not going to sit around being sad."

'I don't want to.' He thought determinedly.

Daxter jumped onto Trinity's shoulder. "Oooh! Let me drive! I'll get us there quickly!" He ushered.

Elise took the seat beside Trinity and flicked Daxter away. "In your dreams, rat. You can hardly hold a cup."

He flipped back into his seat. "You could at least let me sit in the front!"

"No."

"But—"

All she had to do was give him a stern glare to silence him. Jak took his seat beside Daxter and flicked his head.

"It's like you never learn." Jak rolled his eyes and leaned forward to talk to the others.

"So how long do you think this mission will take? And please tell me there's not another chance of us dying..." He grumbled the last sentence.

'I hope not...' Trinity quietly prayed. "You already know this is... A shadow of the world you once were from, if you must." Trinity had a grim tone, but he quickly changed it. "If I'm right, and this structure is really the same and has been left alone for many years - centuries, even, think of this as an... Adventure."

Jak felt a little strange hearing a word such as that. He had wanted them when he was young, when he was back home. Back in Sandover.

"Ohhh, another dangerous wacky adventure, as if it already wasn't one already!" Daxter rolled his eyes, and even his partner's complaints had reminded him of older times.

They were driving deep into the Bazaar (albeit, obviously cautious of enemy patrols while at it), however they went much deeper than usual.

They began seeing more and more fruit stands, even gigantic plants being farmed here. It was a fresh sight to see more vegetation and green than Haven's usual display.

As they looked around, they saw people wearing cowls and hoods, their long ears poking out, in the corners or alleyways. People who were deliberately staring at them as they drove past and whispering as they ducked back into the shadows.

"Who are they?..." One of them wondered aloud.

Trinity let out a laugh, surprising his party. "If you can believe me, its supporters."

"I thought they'd be out for our heads." Dax shivered at a horrifying thought.

Trinity scoffed, "This is the quieter part of the Main Districts. The snakes and backstabbers you see 'round here would be near The Port. I've... been helping out on the small things with people here back then."

Elise looked around, a small smile beginning to make its way into her face. "Maybe on the way back we can stop to see Brutter." She mumbled softly.

The rest of the ride was as peaceful as it could get, Daxter popping in some ridiculous comments here and there, but they managed. Jak sat up every now and then to admire the scenery.

Trinity wondered, taking a quick peek at his Communicator displaying the holographic map. "If we were to pass through the Gardens, maybe. We're here, it's just up the ramp and past the airlocked gates there." He hopped off, "Ready?"

Trinity sounded a tad bit excited, he tried to contain it secretly. If he didn't, Trin might've looked as if he had finally snapped or something.

"Ready as ever." Jak slung himself off of the zoomer and stretched. "Finally good to be back."

"Careful, blondie." Elise jumped off of the zoomer. "Remember what Torn said. Stay with us, and try not to get hurt."

Jak groaned in annoyance. "Ugh, yes mom. And since when the hell do I ever listen to Torn?"

Elise chuckled, "Since I said so. Now move your ass." She began walking towards the ramp. "And that means all of you. The faster we get this done, the quicker we get home."

An unfamiliar woman came up to them holding a basket full of harvested fruits and plants. "Oh, it's been so long since you've came back to this Section." The woman was a little on the old side, seeing a ashen strand of hair being tucked behind her ear.

The children playing around the garden had stopped playing a long while ago when they had noticed the group, some hid behind the huge blue-green stems, except a few.

"Now, now, kids."

The children were running around and in between the Trinity's legs playing tag, he laughed. "Too long, I believe."

Elise smiled brightly at the sight of children, especially at the sight of them joyfully playing with Trinity. "So you are great with kids. I'll have to remember that." She hummed and chuckled softly. Trin couldn't help but feel flustered about that.

Jak blinked and took a few steps back. He didn't dislike children, he was just never really the best when it came to them. Daxter, on the other hand, jumped onto a child's shoulder. He grinned and stood proudly. "Ah, my adoring public! The Orange Lightning is GREAT with children!" He boasted and posed proudly.

Elise didn't wanna give him a good wack in front of kids, so she merely rolled her eyes.

Trinity made a macho-like pose, one arm being used as a bar to hang on for one of the kids. "It depends, haha."

"Red has girly hair hehe!"

The others snickered and Trinity got even more rosy.

Elise let out a laugh, "Aww, Trin's getting bullied by little kids." She laughed.

"Don't you dare push it."

Jak snickered and grinned widely, "What's up with the 'girly' hair anyway, Trin?"

"Hey, at least he wears it better than Torn." She nudged Jak which caused him to laugh, Trinity hoping she doesn't remember too much of the night before (but shook his head nonetheless).

She suddenly paused when she felt a small tug at her shirt. She looked down to see a small girl, staring directly up at her. The young girl smiled widely, proudly showing the world she was missing a front tooth. Elise smiled.

"Hi, Lady!" The girl shouted.

"Hello." Elise chuckled softly.

"You're staring at Red, quite a lot!"

Elise quickly flushed, "W-Wha? I'm n–"

"And you're turning red, like him!"

"I'm just–"

"Are you his girlfriend?"

"WHAT—?!?"

Jak and Daxter suddenly burst into fits of laughter. The small girl only grinned wider as one of her friends ran over. Those little brats began to chant. "Red's got a girlfriend! Red's got a girlfriend!"

Trinity had his mouth slightly agape but they would never tell (fortunately!), the elderly woman laughed. "Alright, lunch is almost ready, let's give some breathing room to these kind folks."

The boy on his arm jumped off with a huge smile, some of the others booed, but they ran off with snickers and laughs nonetheless.

"Bless the Precursors, thanks." He embarrassingly sighed.

"So, what brings you here?"

"We're going into the forest, how...are things?" He said slightly cautiously, as if he didn't want to offend her.

She waved it off. "I'm fine, everything is normal. Or the usual." She looked around the gardens with other adults who were working. "Is it true? About the incoming war?"

Jak questioned, "Where'd you hear that?" He crossed his arms, wishing he would've finished off the Baron back at the Palace.

"Word of news is loud and clear around here. The increase in shipments, food supplies, herbs, and medicines... It's easy to see."

Trinity gritted his teeth. "It's best to prepare - make tunnels and basements...like I said before."

Daxter hopped up on Trin, "Speakin' of before, what happened?"

"Y'all really want to know? We could go wait and listen in-between the gates while they're opening."

"It may seem small to you, Trin, but we're all very grateful. I hope you come visit us again, I must get going."

Trinity nodded as they walked up the steel ramps.

Elise stared forward, muttering softly to 'herself'. Or so Jak thought, at least.

Dawn: But they said it!

"They're just kids, Dawn. They don't know any better."

Dawn: You wanna know something about kids?

"Mh?"

Dawn: They always speak the truth.

"...Shut up. They were only teasing, there is no truth. Now hush."

Dawn: Blah blah blah. You're no fun!

Beth: Enough of that topic... the woman mentioned a war.

Elise furrowed her eyebrows. "Baron's just scared. He knows the danger he's in." She gritted her teeth. "And he better. If those metalheads don't kill him, We will."

Dawn: We?

"I'm not alone anymore, Dawn." She smiled weakly.

Beth: Oh, honey... You never were.

Jak gently nudged Trinity and raised an eyebrow. "Is she alright?" He asked softly, concern lacing in his tone.

"Yeah." After a short pause, he teased. "Just as right as any of us."

Jak paused. "Hey! What's that supposed to mean?" He playfully whined.

They waited in the spacious room, the gates behind them echoing and shutting. Trinity had one last glance at the woman before looking ahead.

Just like the Pumping Station, the gates and room were the same as anything else. Except lifeforms and greenery were creeping in between the rusted gears, rather than sand.

There was a small silence settling in until Trinity began. "It was early in my KG days." Then he snickered once again, "Back when the Krimzon Guards actually helped citizens. But there aren't many men and women like that these days."

Daxter scoffed, "To me, they all seem like Tattooed Wonders! All tall, serious, and super, SUPER hostile!"

Trin seemed to be deep in thought. "Almost all left and formed the UG, but there's still a few who don't entirely act out of evil. Some chose to stay due to fear..." They all had a grim atmosphere nestled within the air. But Trinity quickly dismissed it before it fully settled in. "That's not what you wanna hear though, it's the people of the Gardens Section here. These gates weren't as tough as it was compared to before."

The group glanced at the doors ahead; surely enough, when it began to put its ancient gears to work, the door had a hefty sound to it. In fact, the parts and assembly themselves were thicker if one looked hard enough.

"The gate had a malfunction, I'm no mechanical genius, but it was stuck open."

Jak hardly took note of what Trinity was saying. Once the doors had opened, he stared in awe at the scene. Daxter blinked in shock, a smile quickly taking over.

"It's amazing!" Daxter yelled and looked down at Jak.

He nodded in agreement and looked back at Trinity. "You used to come here a lot?"

There were steel gray rocks forming a canyon in front of them as they approached the grassy ledge. Each piled ontop of each other like pancake stacks.

The smell of nature flooded their senses as they could hear the sounds of humming waterfalls elsewhere, the skied were healthy unlike the polluted smog of Haven.

Trinity smiled widely for the first time in a long while. "It's still the same..." He walked ahead of them, "C'mon!"

"Hey wait, at least let us take the view in more!"

"Don't worry, this isn't the best part." Trinity couldn't help but laugh. "Let's go!"

He vaulted into the Precursor Ring, warping!

Jak quickly ran after Trinity, excitement flooding through his veins. "Wait up, Trinity!" He yelled as he jumped through the portal. Elise rolled her eyes with a gentle smile.

"They're so much alike..."

Beth: It's adorable!

Dawn: It's gross.

She chuckled, "I adore the both of them for it." She hopped through the portal.

When she landed, Elise looked behind them to notice she was teleported across the great fissure. Trinity couldn't contain his excitement, holding onto the strap of his gun on his back. She couldn't believe it, all the trees and flowers. All naturally grown, despite the machinery and dystopian city.

"I'm sorry if the world you knew changed so much... But some remained untouched through time." Trinity apologized.

Jak and Daxter looked in awe as their companion caught up. "It's the same one - The Mountain Temple..."

"I'd never thought I'd say this, but I miss seeing this Precursor crap!" Daxter hopped off to let his paws feel the grass.

Trinity went over to the tree, kneeling down, and felt the lavender flower petals. "The feeling of adventure... It was my dream as a kid."

He reminiscenced. On the other hand, Jak had felt the same empathy.

"I remember..." He muttered. "That's why I kept coming here."

Elise looked around in amazement, her eyes almost brightening with joy. "It's beautiful." She breathed out her words, grazing her fingers over a few flowers—just to assure herself they were truly real. She felt a tinge of longing, and understood why.

Everyone in that horrible city would kill to see something like this. Hell, they'd fight each other to pick a fresh flower. Elise kneeled down in front of a small bundle of forget-me-nots. She plucked a few of them and stood back up.

Jak laughed at Daxter who flung himself into the cool grass. If he hadn't known better, he'd think Dax was just a normal ottsel playing around. He jumped when he felt a hand on his shoulder, followed by some of his hair being brushed aside.

"Wha..?"

He looked and saw a flower carefully placed in his hair. He brushed his fingers over it, smiling tenderly at Elise. She winked at him.

"Thank you, El."

"You're always welcome." She patted his shoulder and hesitantly walked over to Trinity.

She tapped his shoulder gently. "Hey."

When he turned around, she placed the flower behind his ear and brushed some of his hair back. She smiled and tilted her head, attempting to look at his eyes through the nonchalant mask.

"So you won't forget me." She said.

Dawn: Good use of it's name, eh?

Beth: Awww!

Dawn: NO. SHUSH.

"Mm, oh..." Trinity smirked. "Thanks."

Elise saw his eyes under the dim eye holes of his crimson mask, it wasn't easy to notice. But his eyes were glimmering with something in them, within that second, Elise had realized how much all this meant to him: The temple, the adventure, the companions, and the life.

He stood up gazing at the glistening waterfalls and humming rivers.

Elise looked ahead as well, but her mind still fixated on that light Trinity had. Perhaps the sense of nostalgia and adventure he was getting from the Northern Gardens was so beautiful to him that it was almost sad to him.

Whatever happened during those gloomy days, it seemed as if Trinity had found the resolve he once lost.

Beth: This must be part of the reason why he's fighting...

The Precurian metal of the temple stood in its shining glory; brazen and bronze. Why this place was left untouched, no one really knew. No one cared as long as it's still here.

Dawn: I wouldn't be surprised if Trinny had something to do with that part.

Elise mumbled. "Maybe..."

As they continued a little further ahead, deeper into the area, Dragon Swallowtails could be seen hovering over the rivers and in the shadowy areas were...

"Metalheads." Trinity stated, eager as the others stepped forward with guns ready.

"Just like old times, yeah Dax?"

" 'cept with more firepower, let's turn 'em into swiss cheese!"

"We're heading for the closest one to us." Trinity had his Communicator fly around displaying the map of the Temple.

"What are we supposed to do here?" Elise looked at an oddly shaped Precurian floating platform.

Trinity readied his Snipertron-

*BANG!*

The platform suddenly switched upon impact! He had hit the tip of it, making it flip.

"That."

They continued on, exploring the ancient walls of the Southern Temple structures around the jungle-like area.

"Eugh! What are THOSE?!" Daxter pointed out small swarms of shadowy blobs. Trinity trained his sights at the darkness, getting a closer look. "Wait aren't these Maniacs?"

"Manics."

"Oh alright, Manic Heads Mr. Know-It-All."

Jak couldn't help but let out a childish giggle, rolling his eyes at his furry friend. The group made no effort in getting rid of the red Metalheads as they were some of the weakest except in swarming and overwhelming their victims.

When they went on, even weaker kinds of Metalheads called Hoppers made the group feel like they were rather having fun. "These toads don't stand a chance even with a little punch and kick from me!"

She grinned slyly. "Do they have a chance against you?" Elise mocked, knowing the ottsel would probably get eaten sadly.

"Way to ruin the mood- " She gave a death glare. "Ohh I- mean nothing!" Daxter cowered behind Jak, who was smiling at his friend's antics.

"These metalheads are weak, but all these jumps with a hangover like mine doesn't make these any easier."

Trinity checked on her. "You don't have to do this, you know? You could try out my gun and stay in one position if you want."

Elise shook her head, sighing softly through her nose. "I'll be alright, I've just gotta take it easy." She smiled jokingly. "If I would've known you were taking us here, I wouldn't have drank at all."

Dawn: Liar. You wouldn't have drank as much.

"Shut up, Dawn." She whispered, her tone a bit aggravated.

Dawn: Am I lying, though?

Beth: Shut up, Dawn!

Dawn: You're both mad because I'm right.

"Dawn!" Elise hissed, quickly slapping a hand over her mouth. She glanced at Jak who was raising an eyebrow.

"Uh..." She flushed a light pink. "This place would look beautiful at dawn!" She flashed a nervous grin to him. "Right, Trinny?"

Trinity continued on, unfazed about Elise, knowing she was speaking to Dawn or Beth. "She's not wrong. We can take it easy, nice and slow." The masked man settled his rifle next to him as he sat on the ledge, a small waterfall murmuring right by the group. Up ahead and right below them was rusted Precursor walls with green gems embedded on them.

"It's beautiful... How come The Baron didn't go after any of this? Didn't Ashelin say that they were after Mar's artifacts?"

"Huh..." Trinity hummed. "I didn't think you could get this smart on me."

"Yeah - wait."

Trinity laughed.

Elise let out a half hearted laugh. "He got ya there."

Jak crossed his arms stubbornly and glared at the both of them. "Yeah, yeah, whatever."

Continuing onwards by climbing and passing through the grassy paths, they found themselves stuck. It seemed as if a bridge was missing.

"Now what? We can't really past that, there's gotta be some stupid, hidden switch or- "

"Unfortunately..." Trinity cut Dax's quips short, pointing down at the large opening. "It's there."

"So? Let's go!"

"No, wait Jak!!"

All of the sudden, there was a great tremor! They all turned their heads like alert animals to the rocky walls surrounding the opening area Jak had hopped down to!

"Run! But don't go in straight lines!!" Trinity bellowed and with perfect timing, right after he finished his sentence, a giant beast shattered the wall nearest to the plate switch! Elise wanted to jump down herself to aid them, but Trin put a hand to stop her. "No, this is good, that Ramhead won't be able to reach us."

They both pulled out their weapons.

"This Ramhead you say is armored to the teeth." Elise didn't want to admit herself, but her pistols might as well be weaker than BB guns seeing a behemoth like that.

"I got a plan- Jak! Get it to hit this wall!" He loaded his sniper. "None of our weapons will do any damage except for its gem and underbelly."

Daxter was yelping in fear, but Jak already got the strategy down when seeing how clumsy it was when it came to stopping or turning.

*CRASH!*

The dull creature charged right into the stonewalls, shaking both Trin and El from its surprising sheer power! They didn't waste another second, firing all they could at the beast's head, making it roar into the air fiercely with its dying breath. It collapsed and disintegrated from all the eco bullets and its own blood.

"Ramhead none, us one heheh!" Daxter stuck his tongue out in mockery, Jak shaking his head (slightly panting but grinning still).

"Hit that floor switch."

Jak nodded and in astonishment, bronze metal platforms violently tore through the earth. Blasting away the rocks and jutting out.

'Now to get us our first artifact.' Trinity grabbed Jak's hand and they all hopped to the other side using the platforms.

Elise placed her hands on her hips watching as Jak stepped forward, Daxter perched on his shoulder as per usual. She pursed her lips in wonder. Those two in her head began to ramble yet again.

Dawn: What do you think the old lady needs the artifact for?

Beth: Don't be rude! Her name is Onin, but you do have a good question. What does she need them for?

Elise hummed in thought. "Not entirely sure, but I trust her. And you two should as well."

__________

JV007 A/N: I plan to cut this into two parts, probably time skip somewhere as we don't need to write EVERY single thing! Like many chapters, this has some heavy foreshadowing! Other than that, we get to have some small backstory on Trinity, or the influences he has on other people. These characters shown in Gardens Section aren't big characters. It's a nice change of view to see supporters of The Underground too! I couldn't help but make this mission happy, this area reminds me of Jak 1 parts sometimes.

Butterfly A/N: They're all babies and I wanna hug em.
