Chapter 83

Ashton's PoV:

"Okay Gracie, it's time to say goodbye to Mommy." I said to the little girl who was skipping around the room with her Olaf in her hand.

She ran around the sofa and over to Carter who was waiting with open arms to hug her.

"I'm gonna miss you." Carter pulled her into her embrace, tucking the little girls head into her chest. "Be a good girl for your Daddy and Ender."

"Yes Mommy." Gracie said and Carter moved back so she could give her a kiss.

"I love you." Carter smiled.

"Love you Mommy." Gracie gave her a kiss back and then skipped over to me.

Carter came forward and hugged Ender as well.

"I love you, be good for Ash." She said and he hugged her back.

"I will." He promised and she kissed his forehead before moving onto me.

"I wish I could go with you." She wrapped her warm arms around my back while I pressed her to me.

"I wish you could go too. I know it's only for three days but I'm gonna miss you like crazy." I buried my head in the crook of her neck.

"Me too. This will be my first time ever by myself."

"We'll be back before you know it. I promise you."

"I love you." She said and squeezed me tighter.

"I love you too." I moved back so I could kiss her, feeling her lips against mine.

"You'll call tonight?" She asked when we had broken the kiss.

"You bet, and in the morning."

She nodded and I lightly squeezed her waist before unfortunately letting her go.

Carter grabbed Gracie's teddy bear backpack and put it over the little girls shoulders, caressing her cheek before pressing a kiss to her forehead.

"Bye you guys, I'll talk to you later." She stood up and waved lightly as I opened the front door.

"Bye love." I said and Ender waved at his sister before Gracie skipped out the door and Ender ran to chase after her.

The door closed behind me and I followed after the two kids, smiling softly as I watched them play around while we made our way to the jeep.

Once we were there I got Gracie in the back, Ender sitting up front with me and I drove out of the lot and towards the ferry.

I turned on the radio and Ender and I laughed while Gracie danced in the back seat and then we got on the large boat, turning off the car so we could start the two hour ride to Sydney.

It was around Gracie's nap time so I wasn't surprised when she fell asleep, and it gave me a chance to have some quality time with Ender.

"So be honest, is it weird having me be engaged to your sister?" I asked him.

"No. I actually like it. Carter was really sad after our parents died, and you've made her happy again." He smiled at me.

"She makes me happy too. I know it might not be for a while, but one day you're going to find the girl of your dreams too, and you'll understand how your sister makes me feel."

He nodded.

"So speaking of girls, is there any special someone at school you like?" I asked.

"Well, there's one girl named Chloe who's nice."

"Why don't you ask her to go to the movies with you or something? Carter and I could drop you off, and then you know sit in the back to make sure you're being the gentleman you should." I said and he laughed.

"A gentleman?" He asked through his laughter.

"Yes. See like with your sister, I always open her car door or open the door when she walks inside a building. Or when we go on dates I buy her meal, things like that."

"Okay." He nodded. "But I don't even know how to ask a girl out."

"Well, first start talking with her, get a nice conversation going, and then just be like "Hey, wanna go to the movies with me sometime?" and then go from there." I said.

"But what if she says no?"

"Then you smile, say that's fine, and then keep going about your day."

"Alright. I think I'll ask her next week." He said and I smiled. "Thanks for your help."

"Anytime End. If you have any questions don't be afraid to come ask me." I assured him.

Gracie slept the entire ferry ride to Sydney and to my moms house, and she woke up when I took her from her car seat so I could carry her inside.

"Grandma!" She exclaimed when my mom walked into the entry hall to welcome us.

"Hi Gracie!" My mom smiled and took Gracie up into a hug.

"And Ender, looking as handsome as ever." She pinched his cheeks and gave him a hug as well.

She gave me a hug and then Gracie and Ender ran off to go find Indie.

"So how is Carter?" My mom asked as we walked in towards the kitchen.

"She's good. She sends her love. She really wanted to come but Ari is sick and Jason is out of town so she volunteered to take care of her."

My mom nodded and I made my way to the living room to watch Ender and Gracie try and teach Indie to high-five like we had taught Bear.

The rest of our evening went by well and I realised as I was going to get Gracie's bath things from my suitcase that this was the first time I had taken care of both Ender and Gracie by myself.

"Gracie its bath time!" I called out through the house and soon she came running to me and I swooped her up, carrying her to the bathroom where I started the bath.

Carter had made sure to pack her bubble bath and some bath toys, and I laughed as Gracie played around in the bubbles until I washed her hair and skin before pulling her out of the water and wrapping her in her pink towel.

I took her back to my bed room where I got her dried off and then she stood on the bed, placing her hands on my shoulders while I helped her into her underwear and then Olaf onesie that my mom had got her.

After I had zipped her up she ran off to the living room.

I cleaned up and then went out to join everyone else.

"Daddy can you braid my hair?" Gracie climbed up in my lap.

"Sure." I smiled and started to fix her hair like Carter had taught me, creating two French braids in her hair.

I was working on the second braid when my phone began to ring.

"That's probably your sister End, answer it." I said and he quickly did as such, holding the phone up to his face as she appeared on the screen.

"Hey End! How's Sydney?" I heard Carters beautiful voice and smiled.

"The weathers really nice. I even went out and kicked a few goals." He responded cheerfully.

"Fun. I miss you like crazy End. It's weird not having you here."

"I miss you too." He said. "Do you want to see Ashton?"

"Sure." She said and Ender came over to hold the phone in front of me and Gracie.

"Hey babe." I smiled.

"Hi Mommy!" Gracie grinned as well.

"Hey loves, I miss you guys so much." I could see Carters face, her grey eyes bright and shining.

"We miss you too." I said and then finished tying off Gracie's braid.

"Wow, maybe I could be a hair stylist." I commented at my well done braid, and Gracie turned around in my lap to beam up at me.

"Aw, Daddy did a good job on your hair didn't he Gray?" Carter laughed.

"So how's Ari feeling?" I asked.

"Better. She still has a fever but I picked up her antibiotic today so hopefully she'll feel much better tomorrow."

"Good. Tell her I hope she feels better soon."

"I will." She smiled.

"Okay, well I've got to get this little one in bed, but we'll talk in the morning."

"Yeah. Sweet dreams you guys." She said.

"Love you." I smiled.

"Love you too. Goodnight." She waved and then hung up.

Gracie had slid off my lap and ran over to the counter where my sunglasses were and put them on.

"Look! I'm Daddy!" She exclaimed and my mom, Ender, and myself busted into laughter.

"Go stand over there Gray, let me take your picture." I told her and she stood in the middle of the living room and I had her put her hands in the air making peace signs before snapping her photo.

'Gracie Irwin as the stylish Olaf.' I posted the photo, still laughing at how silly she was.

I got Gracie and Ender together before saying goodnight to my mom and then ushering them off to my room since we had to get up early in the morning.

Ender and Gracie went to the bathroom to brush their teeth while I changed into my pyjamas and then flipped back the covers.

They came back in and I had one kid on each side of me, Gracie cuddling up to me with her bunny in her hands.

Even though I had already talked to her I sent Carter a good night text and then relaxed into the bed, falling asleep snuggled up next to my little girl and my future brother-in-law.

The alarm went off at 5:00 and I groaned as I moved to turn it off. Looking next to me I saw Ender asleep with his arm outstretched over my stomach.

Gracie was curled up with her head on my chest and her thumb in her mouth.

Taking my phone I took a picture of the adorableness that was these kids, posted it, and then carefully got out of the bed, heading to the bathroom.

After that I went out to the kitchen to start coffee and was soon met with Gracie's arms around my legs.

"Hey there princess." I smiled and placed a hand on her head before picking her up.

She fell back asleep on my shoulder and I smiled softly as I poured my cup of coffee and then began to carry her around the room, lightly bouncing and rocking her in my arms.

It was going to be a long day of interviews and press opportunities and I really wished Carter was here to share these moments with me and the kids, but since she wasn't able to I knew this would be a good bonding time for me and them.

"Gracie baby, it's time to wake up." I lightly tickled her and she squirmed around, a grin coming to her face.

I took her back to the bedroom and she helped me wake Ender up before I helped Ender pick out what he was going to wear and then got Gracie's outfit together that Carter had chosen.

It was a cute navy blue dress that had a white bow around the middle and a thick band at the bottom.

I got Gracie dressed and then strapped on her white sandals before taking her to the bathroom where I could fix her braids.

After that I went to get myself dressed and Gracie played with her toys on the floor while I pulled on some black skinny jeans and a black shirt.

I grabbed my fedora as well and then went to brush my hair next to Ender who was doing the same. He was wearing khaki shorts and a light blue button down.

Next I got breakfast started in the kitchen, trying my best at pancakes like Carter did, and everyone dug into their food.

Once we were done eating we only had a few minutes until the car would be here so I sent the kids to brush their teeth while I packed Gracie's teddy bear back pack with snacks and toys for her before switching places with them so I could brush my teeth.

My phone rang in my pocket as I was doing this and I spit out the toothpaste before answering it.

"Hey." I said.

"Morning love." Carters voice floated into my ears.

"Morning baby. How'd you sleep?"

"Good. I missed you though."

"I missed you too. Did you see the picture I posted of the kids this morning when I woke up."

"I did. It was so cute." She laughed. "Well I just wanted to say have fun today and I can't wait to see you guys."

"We will. I can't wait to see you too."

"Have they been good?" She asked.

"Yes. It's been nice bonding with them, Ender especially. We got some guy time in on the ferry ride over."

"Aw I'm glad, I've been worried about him." She paused. "Ari's calling on the other line, I'll talk to you later okay? I love you."

"I love you too Carter." I smiled before hanging up.

I left the bathroom and then had Gracie go use the restroom before we left while I finished packing her bag and making sure she had her bunny.

I heard the honking of the car outside and we quickly left the house with our things.

I had to get the car seat from my jeep and place it in the SUV we were using; Michael, Luke, and Calum already inside.

Gracie gasped adorably when she saw her uncles and hugged them before getting in her car seat so I could buckle her up, taking the seat next to her.

"How's hanging out with your Dad, Gracie?" Luke asked her with a smile.

"Fun!" She exclaimed, her charismatic self improving the mood instantly of the normal dire car rides.

I said hello to John our main sound guy who was in the front seat and introduced him to Gracie and Ender.

"Daddy you forgot my bows!" Gracie said suddenly.

"Oh you're right. I put them in your back pack." I said and found the little white bows that had the clear hair ties on the back and situated them to the ends of her braids. "There you go princess. You look very pretty."

She beamed at this and I tweaked her nose before starting a conversation with the guys.

As we neared the radio station we were playing and interviewing at, I turned to Gracie and Ender.

"Okay Ender, you're good with the fans so I have no worries about you, but Gracie, it's going to be loud okay? Don't get scared because of the loud noise. I'll be right there to make sure nothing happens to you." I told her and she nodded.

"Are we going to take pictures?" She asked.

"We are going to take pictures. Are you excited?" I grinned at her and she nodded, showing off her little white teeth with her smile.

When we arrived in front of the station there was a crowd of girls waiting for us behind metal barricades set up by security.

"Okay Gray, remember Daddy's right here and there's no reason to be scared." I told the little girl and she nodded again, swinging her feet.

When we stopped I unbuckled her and held her as I stepped out of the car first. Screams filled the air and she jumped slightly in my arms but remained calm.

Ender climbed out next followed by the other guys and we began the walk to the doors, stopping for photos.

I smirked when I saw Ender being a hit with the younger teenage girls, just like Carter he was quite the charmer.

I smiled happily as I took photos with fans, them all saying hi to Gracie who waved at them.

Finally we made it inside the radio station and we went to where we would be playing a few acoustic songs for the fans, our instruments and stuff being set up. We hung out out of the way until we needed to sound check.

"Okay you two," I turned to the kids, "I'm going need you guys to stay here until I come get you. I just have to sound check really quickly." I said and Ender nodded, taking Gracie while I headed over to the boys.

Michael and Luke tuned their guitars, and Calum tuned his bass, while I sat down on the stool in front of the cajon. I adjusted my mic and we all checked our vocals before moving onto the instruments, running through a part of a song to get the levels right.

I checked on Gracie and Ender out of the corner of my eyes and smiled when I saw them both sitting there quietly, colouring in Gracie's notebook with her crayons.

Once we were done sound checking I went back to get them, lifting Gracie up into my arms where she hugged me, her arms around my neck as her head rested on my shoulder.

"Daddy, I want juice." She said after a few minutes so I went to her back pack where I pulled out a bottle of apple juice and her sippy cup before filling it up and giving it to her.

"Ender do you need anything?" I asked him and he shook his head.

"So what exactly are you doing?" He asked me, surveying the room.

"Well, we are going to do a radio interview in the other room, and then come in here after that, there will be some fans in here, and play a few songs." I explained.

"What songs are you going to play?"

"We're playing the song your sister likes which is Beside You, then Out of My Limit, a cover of Teenage Dream and then She Looks so Perfect."

"Cool." Ender nodded and I smiled. It made me happy that he was interested in my job.

Soon we were taken to the room where we were being interviewed, and I sat in a chair with Gracie sitting on my lap, and Ender sat between me and Luke.

The hosts of the show were were going to be on were a man named Andy and a woman named Jessie.

"Ender, Gracie, this is Andy and Jessie and they're going to be interviewing me and the boys today." I introduced them and Gracie waved while Ender said hi.

I put the headphones on Gracie and Ender which they thought was so cool and I took a few pictures as well.

Gracie was talking to Luke and before the show started I took her stuffed bunny in my hand and bounced it up and down on her lap before she took it into a hug and leaned back so her head was against my neck.

Ender was watching everything in awe and then the light that said we were live went on and the interview began.

"Ladies and gentleman welcome back to 101.7, Sydney's station for all the hottest songs with Andy and Jessie, and we are here with the band Five Seconds of Summer."

"Woo!" Michael said and we laughed.

"So we have Michael, Calum, Luke and Ashton with us, but we also have two more guests, Ashton you brought your kids with you." Jessie said.

"I did yeah." I smiled.

"So is it bring your kids to work day?" Andy asked.

"It is." I laughed. "I was going to bring my fiancé as well but her best friend is sick so she's at home taking care of her."

"That's sweet." Jessie smiled.

"Yeah well she's a sweet girl." I continued to smile.

"So their names are Ender and Gracie, and I just want to add that these are seriously the most well behaved kids I've ever met. They are so polite and well mannered, you and Carter have done a good job." Andy said.

"Thank you, but I can't take all the credit because Carters been raising Ender since she was thirteen. But yes, they are very good kids."

"Do they want to say hello and introduce themselves?" Jessie asked and I pointed to the microphone in front of Ender.

"Hi I'm Ender." He said kind of nervously just like Carter would have done if she was here.

"And how old are you?" Jessie asked.

"Eleven." He answered.

"Ender's our footie star." Calum said and Ender grinned.

"Yeah, Calum and Carter have been coaching me."

"Won his first game too." Calum said proudly and Ender continued to smile at the praise he was receiving.

"So is it weird having your older sister date a celebrity?" Andy asked.

"No, it's cool. Ashton's fun." Ender smiled.

"I am pretty fun, aren't I?" I laughed and Ender rolled his eyes.

"And then we have little Gracie who's sitting in her fathers lap, how is it going Gracie?" Andy asked her and she looked up at me.

"Alright, say "Good" in the microphone
right there." I pointed it out to her and she leaned forward.

"Good." She said and then burst into giggles causing me to laugh as well.

"How old are you Gracie?" Jessie smiled at her widely.

"Four." Gracie grinned.

"And are you having fun with your Dad today?"

"Yes!"

"So who is the more fun parent, Ashton or Carter?" Andy asked.

"Ashton." Ender said and I laughed.

"Both!" Gracie added and I squeezed her waist.

"I think your Mommy is pretty fun too." I said and Gracie laughed.

"The boat." Gracie said.

"Yeah, she takes you out on the boat and takes you swimming."

"And cupcakes."

"Yes and she makes you cupcakes." I laughed.

"So Michael, Calum, and Luke, you've obviously gotten to know Carter, Ender, and Gracie quite well since Carter and Ashton started to date, and now your best friend is going to get married, how is that for you guys?"

"You know, when we first met Carter, Ashton was like head over heels for her, and he kept saying "I think I've found the one, I think I've found the one", and we were just like "yeah okay", but as time really went on we were all kind of blown away by how they fell in love and created this family together, and I think it's made all of us happier." Michael answered and I smiled at him.

"I know me and Calum were joking around seriously on the very first day they met and we were like "watch her end up being the girl he marries", and now she is so its kinda funny." Luke added.

"And I think with the kids too we've really bonded and connected with them, and Ashton probably feels this more than us because he's their Dad now, but we feel like it's our job to protect them and be there for them. It really gives you a new outlook on life." Calum said.

"The guys have been so great and supportive throughout all of this, and I know they've made Carter and the kids feel so loved." I threw in there and they all turned to smile at me.

Gracie shifted in my lap and began to play silently with Mr. Carrots her stuffed bunny.

"It's fun being an uncle to them though, like the guys and I see who is the favourite." Michael laughed.

"Oh, so Gracie who is your favourite uncle; Michael, Calum or Luke?" Andy asked and Gracie looked at all three boys.

"Uh oh." I chuckled.

"Hey Gracie, if you say Uncle Calum I'll buy you ice cream." Calum told her and she gasped.

"If you say Uncle Luke I'll get you a cupcake." Luke went next and Gracie's eyes widened even more.

"You are literally bribing my child." I laughed.

"Hey Gracie, I'll let you choose what colour I dye my hair next." Michael said and that seemed to be the deciding factor for Gracie.

"Uncle Mikey!" She exclaimed and we bust out in laughter as Michael smiled in his victory.

"What colour are you going to choose Gracie?" Jessie asked.

"Pink!" Gracie nodded happily and Michael grinned at her.

"Pink it is then!" He said.

"Daddy can I have pink hair?" Gracie asked me.

"Your Mommy would not be happy if you came home with pink hair." I chuckled. "Besides your hair is very nice the way it is now."

"Daddy braided my hair." She turned around and said to everyone in the room.

"Yeah I'd just like to point out the fact this is the first time I've watched the kids like all by myself, and I got this little munchkin bathed, dressed and fixed her hair, and I am very proud of myself." I said and everyone laughed.

"Well you did a great job, you look very cute Gracie." Jessie smiled.

"Do I look pretty like Mommy?" Gracie asked me.

"You look very pretty like your Mommy." I told her and leaned in to kiss her cheek.

"Like a princess!" She bounced and I laughed.

"Yup, you're my little princess." I hugged her.

"Is Gracie a Mommy's girl or Daddy's girl?" Jessie asked.

"I'm Daddy's little girl," Gracie said then paused, "and Mommy's little girl."

"That's right." I laughed.

"All I know is she has everyone wrapped around her little finger." Michael chuckled.

"That's very true." Ender piped up.

"So are you excited to hear your Daddy sing Gracie?" Jessie asked her.

"Yes." Gracie grinned. "He sings pretty."

"Does he sing to you at home?" Andy asked and Gracie nodded enthusiastically. "What does he sing?"

"Everything!" She replied and we all laughed.

"What do we sing Gray, we sing abc's, twinkle twinkle little star, and she knows the words to a lot of our songs because she listens to them on my phone." I laughed.

"Frozen!" Gracie added excitedly.

"Oh yes, we sing Frozen songs all the time. And I think Carter owns every Disney movie ever made so we learn those songs too." I said.

"You should sing one for us." Andy suggested and Gracie nodded.

"Daddy sing with me!"

"Okay okay, what do you wanna sing?"

"Snowman!"

"Do you wanna build a snowman?"

"Yes!"

"Okay." I laughed then knocked on the table in front of us for dramatic effect.

"Do you wanna build a snowman? Come on let's go and play. I never see you anymore, come out the door, it's like you've gone away. We used to be buddies, but now we're not, will someone please tell me why? Do you wanna build a snowman? It doesn't have to be a snowman. Okay, bye." Me and Gracie sang together and everyone applauded and cheered when we were done.

"Very nice! Very nice!" Jessie smiled. "Well it was so great to have you guys here!"

"Thanks for having us!" Michael smiled.

"So you guys are about to head off to finish opening the OTRA tour for One Direction, then finish out the rest of your first headlining tour in America?" Andy asked.

"Yeah, we are really excited to get back on the road." Calum said.

"Well we wish you guys the best and are excited to hear you sing in just a bit for our live lounge."

"Yeah, it's gonna be fun." I said.

We finished off the interview quickly after that and then left the studio, going to a back room while they finished setting everything up in the live lounge and brought in the fans.

Gracie sat on the floor colouring pictures in her notebook and had a giant stack of them by the time she ran out of paper.

"Okay you two," I walked over to her and Ender along with one of the workers at the radio station, "this is Patsy and she's going to take you inside the lounge."

"Don't worry, I'll make sure Gracie's quiet." Ender told me and I patted his shoulder.

"Where will you be?" Gracie poked out her bottom lip.

"I'll be there in a few minutes, but I'll be on stage so I'll see you after we sing." I crouched down to pull her into a hug. "But don't worry, you'll have Ender right next to you."

"Okay." She said and I gave her a kiss before letting her go.

I watched as Patsy took Gracie's hand and Gracie held on to her bunny and Ender's hand with the other, and they walked inside.

I could see them through the window and I observed as the fans waved at them and they waved back, Gracie even giving a few of the girls hugs.

They sat down in front of all the girls and Gracie began to look through her teddy bear back pack until she frowned and tapped Ender's shoulder, saying something to him.

Ender looked in my direction and I began to look around until I noticed her sippy cup on the counter behind me.

I grabbed it and one of the workers came over and I handed it to him so he could take it out to Gracie. She smiled at that and returned to her happy self.

She took her colouring book out and began to scribble on the pages, Ender watching her.

The girl directly behind them said something to the kids and Gracie turned around to smile and said something before handing the girl the drawing.

The fan hugged Gracie and then I watched in awe as Gracie began to pass out all of her pictures to the fans and the staff in the room until everyone had one.

"That kid." I shook my head and chuckled and the guys did too next to me.

Ender finally got Gracie to sit back down and put her things away before she began to look around and then poked out her bottom lip.

"I want Daddy." I read her lips as she spoke to Ender.

"Is she about to cry?" Michael asked from where he was standing next to me, watching the scene.

I didn't answer yet but watched as Ender talked to her and tried to get her to relax by smartly using Mr. Carrots to distract her, but her eyes welled up anyways and I saw the first teardrop roll down her cheek.

"Yup." I said and moved so I could get to the door.

All of the girls in the room awed as I walked quickly to Gracie, sweeping her up in my arms as she went to hug me with her arms around my neck and legs around my upper stomach so her head could rest on my neck.

"It's okay, it's okay." I said to her as I bounced her lightly. "Let's go in the other room for a minute."

I took her back to the room where the guys were waiting and the moment we walked in they were asking her what was wrong, trying to cheer her up.

"What's wrong baby?" I asked.

"I wanted you." She sniffled.

"Gracie I'm gonna be out there in a few minutes, okay? You're gonna be fine." I assured her, my hand on the back of her head.

She nodded.

I set her down on a counter and bent down in front of her to wipe away her little tears.

"Hey, can you be a brave little princess for me?" I asked her and she nodded. "You know who else is brave Gray, your Mommy. She's very brave, and I know you can be too."

"I can be like Mommy." She said and I nodded.

"That's right. Just like Mommy." I smiled and tweaked her nose until she smiled back.

"There's my little girl. That's my Gracie." I grinned and she went to give me another hug.

"Okay, do you think you can go back out there and sit with Ender until the show ends?" I asked her and she nodded.

"Good girl. Let's go." I set her back on the floor and took her hand as I walked her back into the room, every girl turning their head to look at us and awing again.

I took her over to Ender and crouched down in front of her. "Okay what are gonna be?" I asked her.

"Brave princess like Mommy." She answered.

"There you go." I smiled and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Love you."

"Love you Daddy." She smiled before moving in to hug me.

I smiled as I hugged her back, wrapping my arms around her tiny self.

"I wanna cuddle." She said and I laughed, hearing the aw's of the girls in the room.

"Okay." I replied to her and sat down on the floor, bringing her into my lap.

She snuggled herself into my chest and I kissed her face a few times, tracing my hand across her little tummy.

"Do you feel better?" I asked her and she nodded. "Love you munchkin." I kissed her forehead.

"Come here Gracie, you can cuddle with me." Ender said and I gave Gracie one last squeeze before she crawled off my lap and then sat down next to Ender.

I ruffled Ender's hair as I stood up and waved at the girls who had watched the whole exchange before going back into the back room.

Standing by the window again I watched Gracie carefully and relaxed as she leaned over onto Ender, her bunny in her lap.

"You're a good Dad." Luke clapped me on the shoulder and I smiled.

Andy and Jessie finally went out to introduce us and I watched Gracie sit up, getting excited.

"So please put your hands together for Five Seconds of Summer!" Jessie said and we walked out into the lounge, the 20-30 fans that had bought the private tickets cheering for us.

I couldn't help but grin as I saw Gracie and Ender clapping in the front row as well, Both of their eyes wide.

I took a seat on the cajon and brought the microphone to my lips.

"Hello everyone here in the live lounge, how are you?" I greeted them and the fans replied with different answers simultaneously.

"Well I'm Ashton if you don't know me, and I play the drums in this band."

The guys went on to introduce themselves.

"This first song we're gonna play is called Out of My Limit." Michael said and I counted us off before we started the song.

I looked up occasionally during the song to see Gracie and Ender both singing along with the rest of the fans, a huge smile on my little girls face.

Applause and cheers filled the room as we finished the song.

"So I brought my kids in today." I said into the mic. "If you didn't already know. And they are sitting right there in the front."

"Ashton is like super dad." Michael said. "Literally we're back there and he was like creeping through that little window watching them."

I laughed.

We played Beside You next and all I could think about was Carter, and how I wished she was here.

The next song was Teenage Dream and I was trying so hard not to completely burst into laughter when I saw Gracie dancing from her seat on the floor.

Ender was laughing at her as well as she moved her little arms and wiggled and swayed from side to side.

The last song we played was She Looks so Perfect and Gracie danced to that as well.

When we ended the song we waved to the fans and then left the lounge, Patsy brining Ender and Gracie back to me where Gracie had me hold her while Ender dove in to an excited conversation about the show; asking questions and commenting on different things.

After we were done at the radio station we got back in the SUV and headed over to an office in downtown Sydney where we were doing a magazine interview.

Lunch was provided for us and Gracie tired out after that, falling asleep on me while we finished the interview, her head on my chest with her thumb in her mouth.

After that was done we went out for dinner downtown and I took Gracie and Ender's picture in front of all the city lights and sent them to Carter.

Then I had the guys take one of me and the kids, wanting a photo to place in the memory book Carter had given me to commemorate this day, even though bonding with my kids was something I knew I could never forget.
