Gee Thanks, Boys in Blue
I narrowed my eyes again, not waiting for his response at first. "You know, I don't believe you. Are you planning on torturing me? From the lore I know, your race care for nothing but shedding blood, and you sure as hell have proven me right there by literally tricking me away from my home," I muttered. The darkfallen winced, looking to the floor in thought.
"Yes, fine, I had been planning on putting you through hell because our banter annoyed me. But I was a mage in Dalaran recently turned into a San'layn and ended up gaining most of my personality back. Your world fascinated me, but I wanted to do something to remind myself of what I am now, a being more powerful than I ever was before. I was also both homesick and hungry, and a cruel joke sounded so amusing. When you refused to sacrifice your wolf, though, my goal dissipated," he replied. I stared at him in disbelief. Oh, so now he felt bad for this mistake of his? Fine then.
"So are you letting me go then?" I asked with malice. Loki was gone, I'd lost my home, and it was his fault. I glared angrily at Dreven, gritting my teeth. My pet was out there, and I had a feeling I couldn't call him back if I tried. This place was cursed, and I felt spiritually weaker.
"Unfortunately, I can't. I can try to help you though. What chased you into my clutches in the first place?" He asked curiously. Oh so now he was curious. Bit late for that.
"An orc chased me into here. I'd either die by being clobbered to death, or apparently by your sword. Looks like I'm still due to be cut to pieces. Alright mister emotion, why can't you let me go if all of a sudden you care?" I asked miserably.
Dreven's eyes flashed angrily. "By walking into here, you became mine. I don't let those who are mine go, simple as that. Most have ended up, well..." he glanced toward a pile of bones. "But you. I'm not going to kill you, but I also am not letting you go. You said so yourself an orc was chasing you. It's too dangerous to go out there alone, so you might as well stay here with me. We can discuss Earthly matters and such, because I'm curious about your planet," he finished. Just my luck, he really was a nerd, but didn't look like one.
I glared, twisting the daggers in my hand. Now my voice rose in volume rather considerably, and my eyes gleamed with sheer malice. "Oh so it's going to be this way, is it?! You rigged my computer... you almost got me killed by orcs... you forced me to part with Loki. He's out there alone, and now you expect me to stay here as a prisoner to you?!" I snarled in disbelief. I lunged forward, suddenly pressing my daggers to his neck. He gasped in surprise at this daring move. "Not happening. I don't care how afraid of you I am--I'm getting out of here."
Despite his hesitation to kill me, I knew that the San'layn wouldn't have a problem imprisoning or weakening me. I sliced at his face, dodging his attempt to grab my arm. He hissed angrily, eyes glowing a fierce red. No doubt I was just pissing him off now and sealing my fate further, but I didn't care.
"Well then... since you've challenged me, you're doomed to be eternally hunted no matter what. Let the games begin. Prince Dreven catches his prey no matter what," he hissed assuredly, and I believed him. He stepped back and melted into the shadows. I knew I only had moments before he'd grab me, so why not confuse him?
I took the knife and sliced my hand, gasping through the sharp pain. Blood seeped from the wound, and I didn't waste a moment. I leaped for the walls and rubbed it on them, running in a zigzag to spread the flowing crimson liquid everywhere. Applying pressure, I reached into my pocket and withdrew gauze. I wrapped my hand and ran as fast as I could, praying he'd fall for it.
To my surprise, he did. At the moment he was tracking via scent, not heartbeat. I glanced back as Drev appeared where I'd spread the blood. He looked confused, then a moment of realization dawned on him. His eyes locked on mine, but it was too late. I'd run far enough while he'd appeared at the wrong spot. He'd need to hunt me down now without having the advantage of knowing where I was.
Wincing, I heard his yell. "Alright little human. You've slipped through my grasp this time. I promise when I catch you, my fangs will pierce your flesh and your screams will echo off of the walls. No, I won't kill you. But these games will be won in my favor!"
I didn't even pause to think--I just ran. I turned one corner, then another, but it all looked the same. There was hissing up ahead that was probably the final monsters of the dungeon. I knew that at the end of it would be another portal to freedom.
Laughter drew closer from behind me, willing me to push on even faster. Dreven was on his way, and he knew where I was running. I refused to give up, though, and I leaped on an enemy, probably a spider person of some sort. Burying my blades into its head, I dodged its attempt to slice at me from off of its back. Green slimy blood gushed out from the wound, splattering upon me somewhat. Dirtying my clothing at the moment was the least of my concerns. The spider monster fell, providing me a chance to bolt onward. The footsteps of my hunter were gaining in volume, so I could tell he was almost here.
I burst into the final boss's room and felt myself tensing. A dreadful 'forgotten' one turned its featureless face toward me, the tentacles dangling down from a grey-skinned, elephant-like head. Its trunk-like arms gave way to more writhing tentacles moving about along a bulky grey body. Its voice echoed in my mind. You've doomed yourself by entering here. I narrowed my eyes, for behind him was the portal. Like hell was I stopping now. Taking a step forward, however, I froze as a low chuckle sounded behind me.
"She's mine," came Drev's voice. Was he challenging the Forgotten One? The final boss lunged at me suddenly, causing me to shriek and dodge to the side. I narrowly missed being grabbed by a large tentacle.
No. Now mine to destroy, was the tentacle beast's response.
"Ladies ladies, I know you both want me, but I don't care what shitty fanfiction this feels like. NEITHER of you are gonna get me!" I snarled, without a doubt somewhat losing my mind for the moment.
Drev ignored my quips and hissed, running at the forgotten one as it made to grab me again. I rolled away and remained fixated on that portal. Getting to my feet, I lunged forward and almost made it too, however my progress was halted as I felt my foot being grabbed. I was lifted into the air by a tentacle and brought to the forgotten one's face. Staring into its beady eyes, I winced, trying to slash it with my daggers. Right as it raised me above a maw with many sharp, pointy teeth, a sword flew through the air and chopped the tentacle clean off. I gasped as I fell, groaning as my leg snapped on impact. Dizzily sitting up, I saw Dreven leap on the Forgotten One. He withdrew his blade and sliced through some tentacles of its trunk, spilling out a faucet of black blood.
This was my chance. I crawled forward toward the portal, just barely reaching it as Drev's voice hit my ears. A simple statement. "See you later."
Not wanting to pause, I dragged myself through it and gasped as I fell to the icy ground. Colors swarmed in front of my eyes as the sharp pain in my leg caused me to shake. A huge blob of blue covered my vision as growling filled my ears.
"L...Loki?" I gasped. A warm wet tongue dragged along my leg, causing the pain to recede. He was using spirit mend, that special ability he possessed to heal wounds. I smiled and leaned up to hug him. "Thanks...bud." I whispered. No longer able to keep my eyes open, I sank to the ground and blacked out.

I awoke to a huge black nose in my face accompanied by a whimper of concern. Loki licked my face and wagged his tail, his blue eyes wide and glowing brightly. I giggled, leaning up to give him a big hug. "Good boy! Thanks for protecting me," I whispered, squeezing the wolf tighter. Loki wagged his tail and leaned on my shoulder, giving a saber-toothed smile. I examined my leg, awestruck at how it only ached a little. I ran my fingers over my wounded side, feeling a nasty scar but then again just that. Maybe now I'd get a break from being wounded.
"Now, where to next? We got away from that dungeon, at least. The air isn't safe. I know. Let's try to find a camp." I suggested. I was not one of the horde, but of the (ugh) Alliance. I stood up and tested my weight on my bad leg. It only had a bruise now, but the ache got stronger as I put more weight on it. Healing a broken leg was no easy spell, I knew that Loki did all that he could. Frankly, I was forever grateful for him. I limped and leaned on Loki for support, narrowing my eyes against the biting wind and swirling snow.
After what felt like hours, the dark outline of tents appeared. I smiled and quickened my pace, hope rising. The colors of blue and gold reached my eyes--maybe the very faction I used to hate could be my salvation. Unfortunately I didn't know how wrong I was until too late.
I walked forward and spotted a human clad in armor, probably a guard. Smiling and waving my arm, I rushed on over with Loki by my side. When I was close enough, I met the eyes of the guard and took a deep breath. "Hey!" I called. "I need help..."
The man narrowed his eyes and stepped forward. He walked at me and stood a few feet away, seeming to watch me like watching a dangerous enemy. "Young Lady, what are you doing out here all alone?" He asked in a snarl. I blinked, frowning.
"Well, I was abandoned in Durotar, and the Horde found me. They banished me to die in Northrend, but I got away," I summarized. The human growled, eyes narrowing.
"You're of the Horde! You wear the symbol like it is an honored emblem," he hissed. I gasped and looked down, that couldn't be right! I'd ripped out the symbol before, but there it was again. It was bound to me, and it could very well be my death. "That's a disgrace. You must be a banished one, and you know what we do to them." He lunged forward before I could react and grabbed a fistful of my hair. I cried out, causing Loki to lunge at the human.
Caught by surprise, the guard let go of my hair and drew his sword. He slashed at Loki and caught the wolf's eye. Barely missing slicing it open, the human smirked as he left a scar from the wolf's eyelid to his cheek. I roared in outrage and lunged with my daggers at him. When I sank them into his neck and forced him to scream, he shouted out, "BACKUP!"
Suddenly, I felt an arrow sink into my side, reopening my scar. I gasped and fell, watching as a night elf ran at me aggressively. He grabbed me by the hair and dragged me to the center of the camp. The guard wiped the blood flowing from his neck and approached me with a smirk. "Time to show exiles what happens when they challenge the Alliance."
He drew his sword and sliced at my leg, making a painfully deep cut. He wasn't going for fatal blows; no, I saw in his eyes that I was in for slow torture. A draenei trotted to me, smiling evilly to raise his hoof and slam it into my chin. My teeth closed onto my cheek, causing me to spit out blood. Now almost all alliance at the camp gathered around to watch blades sink into my flesh. I cried out as my blood seeped into the ground, closing my eyes while tears mixed with blood.
