Chapter Fifteen
The next morning, Sabrina woke up and looked around. They were still at the hotel and Chris was sleeping in the other bed. They hadn't been dating that long, so she didn't feel comfortable with him sleeping in her bed. He respected and understood that, gladly sleeping in another bed.
It was nine o'clock, but she didn't want to wake him up. He looked so peaceful when he slept.
She got up and went into the bathroom. She took a shower and got dressed, choosing to wear a black, off the shoulder sweater, galaxy print leggings, and boots. After drying her hair and putting on a little bit of makeup – Chris told her that he liked her best with as little makeup as possible – she left the bathroom. Chris was still asleep. Although she had quickly learned that he was a heavy sleeper, she thought the hair dryer would've woken him up.
She walked up to the nightstand and grabbed her phone. After glancing at Chris one last time, she left and started walking down the hallway. She looked through her contacts until she found her brother's name, and called him, putting the phone on speaker so she wouldn't have to put the phone to her ear and balance on her crutches at the same time.
"Hello?" He answered, drowsily.
"Good morning, Heath!" She says in a sing-song voice.
"What the hell, Autumn?" He asks. "Do you know what time it is?"
Sabrina stepped onto the elevator. She took her phone away from her ear and checked the time. "Uh, it's about 10:30."
"Really?" He asks.
"Yeah," She says. "Why aren't you up?"
"Why should I be up?" He asks.
"I want to eat breakfast with you," She replies. "C'mon, wake up! I have to go back home later, Heath, and all I want is some one-on-one time with my big brother."
He groans. "Fine! I'll meet you in the lobby."
The elevator reached the lobby and Sabrina stepped out, walking into the lobby.
"Thank you, Heath!" She says, grinning. "Bye!"
She hangs up and finds a seat on a couch. Once she sits down, her phone vibrates, indicating that she got a text. It was from Chris.
Hey, where'd you go?
Hey, sorry. You were asleep when I left. I'm going out for breakfast with Heath. :)
It's fine. :) Have fun...
Autumn.
Oh no, you've done it now. You'll regret that. ;)
She didn't get a response, so she looked around. Heath was nowhere to be found, so she decided to go on Twitter.
BrinaSlater: "Last night was so awesome! So glad to have been back on Monday Night Raw, where I belong. Have to go back home today though. :-/"
She looks around again, and after seeing no sign of her brother, she decides to call him. After a few rings, someone finally picks up.
"Hello?" It wasn't Heath. He had an accent.
"Jinder?"
"Yeah," He says. "Hey...Autumn?"
"Yeah...Don't call me that," She says.
"Sorry," He says quickly. "I'll call you Sabrina. What can I do for you?"
"Where's my brother?" She asks.
"In the shower," Jinder answers.
Sabrina groans. "He didn't tell me I'd have to wait for him to take a shower!"
Jinder laughs softly. "I'll let him know you called."
"Okay, thanks, Jinder," She says.
They say their goodbyes and hang up. Sabrina sighs and leans back on the couch.
"I thought you were going out with Heath."
Sabrna lifts her head and Chris is standing in front of her. He was dressed in a black t-shirt, leather jacket, and jeans. He probably would've been wearing sunglasses, but it was dark and rainy outside, so he decided against them.
She shrugs. "He's apparently taking a shower. I'm waiting for him."
He sits down next to her. "So...?"
She rolls her eyes. "You're not invited, Christopher."
"Oh, you called me by my real name," He says. "I'm so scared."
Sabrina punches him in the arm. "Shut up."
Chris frowns and rubs his arm. "Ow...Brina, that hurt."
"I'm sorry..." She says. She leans over and kisses him on the cheek. "Better?"
All Chris does is shrug, not looking at her. She rolls her eyes. He smirks.
"You're not getting anything else," She says.
"Are you sure?"
"Of course I'm – "
She doesn't get to finish her sentence because Chris is suddenly kissing her.
"Ugh, Autumn!"
Sabrina pushes Chris away, blushing. Heath is covering his eyes and Chris is smirking.
"I win," Chris whispers.
Sabrina punches him in the arm again. "And this time you don't get a kiss."
"Is he coming, too?" Heath asks.
"Actually," Chris says, standing up. "I'm going to the gym."
"Dressed like that?" Sabrina asks.
"No," He says. "I'm changing."
Sabrina was confused, but Heath's impatience outweighed her confusion. He rushed her out of the hotel. They get to Heath's car and he starts the car.
"That was weird..." Sabrina mutters.
"So where are we going?" Heath asks.
She shrugs. "You can choose."
"Autumn..." He says. "You woke me up and dragged me out here – "
"Actually, I didn't touch you."
" – and you're telling me you don't know where you want to go," He finishes.
"I figured since I woke you up, I'd let you decide where we eat," She says.
"Well," He says. "I guess when you put it that way, I'll decide."
Heath pulls out of the parking lot. Sabrina notices the doors of the hotel open, and Chris is walking out, wearing what he was wearing when he first arrived in the lobby.
She frowns. "What the hell...?"
"What is it, Autumn?" Heath asks.
"Chris said he was going to change before he went to the gym," Sabrina explains. "He's wearing the exact same thing he was ten minutes ago."
"Maybe he changed his mind," He suggests.
"Yeah, maybe..." She sighs.
Heath pulls into the parking lot of Denny's. The siblings get out of the car and head into the restaurant. Once they're seated and they've received their menus and ordered their drinks, they begin talking.
"I'd glad you wanted to do this," Heath says. "I've been wanting to talk to you."
"About what?"
"Chris."
Sabrina groans. "Heath! If you're going to give him one of those talks you give to all of my boyfriends, I'm going to be pissed!"
"I just want to see what he's like," He says, shrugging.
"You work with him!" She exclaims. "Just have a match with him or something."
"I also want to find out how he treats you," He adds.
"If he treated me badly, I would've kicked his ass by now," Sabrina says. "Come on, Heath, you know that."
"I just want him to know if he treats you badly, he'll have to deal with you and me," He explains.
The waiter eventually comes back, so they order their food. It comes later, so they eat and continue talking. Once they're done, they pay for their food and they leave. When they get in the car, Sabrina gets a text.
Hey Sabrina. I just wanted to let you know that I won't be back when you go back to the hotel.
Yeah, I figured you wouldn't be. I'm on my way back now. Have fun at the gym. :)
"I just texted Chris," Sabrina says, looking at Heath. "I told him to have fun at the gym. I'm going to find out where he is."
"Autumn, I'm sure he'll tell you," Heath says. "You shouldn't worry about it so much."
She got a text.
Don't worry, I am. :)
Sabrina sighs. "He's trying to make me believe he's at the gym."
"When he comes back from wherever he is, are you going to hit him with your crutch?"
"No." She shakes her head. "If he doesn't want to tell me where he is, there must be a good reason. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt."
"If you end up wanting me to beat him up, let me know," He says.
She laughs. "I'll let you know if it comes to that."
They drive back to the hotel. When they arrive, they get out of the car and walk into the lobby.
"Let me know when you guys are leaving," Heath says. "I want to say bye."
"Don't worry, I will," She says.
They both get on the elevator. Since they were staying on two different floors, Heath got off first, then Sabrina got off. She walked to her room, unlocked the door, and walked in. Just like Chris said, he wasn't there.
Sabrina sighs and walks over to her bed. She sits down and grabs the remote, turning the TV on and waiting for Chris.
