HAUNTED
୨⎯ chapter one ⎯୧

Bianca's inner child was left behind at the beach house in cousins. she left her childhood and went back home being the seventeen year old bianca wayne.

bianca was like that kid from diary of the wimpy kid who got the cheese touch and had to move away and it showed the car and him in the back seat. that was what bianca. she was on her knees watching as the blue beach house, her house, grew smaller and smaller the further they got. bianca stayed like that even where there was nothing to see.

"c'here, baby." lena said. she was sitting in the backseat not being able to drive so leo was driving. bianca sighed deeply and sat down on her butt. bianca laid down her head on her mothers shoulder and the older woman wrapped her arms tightly around the fragile girl.

"mom, why do they have to go through the same pain as us? they don't deserve it." bianca mumbled rubbing the back of her hand over her nose but letting the tears fall down.

"no one deserves this baby. no one. but the best you can do, my darling baby, is be there for them. you understand them better than anyone else because, sadly and unfortunately, you've gone through it already. it sounds so shitty, i know." lena said kissing her daughters head and rubbing her arm.

"cancer is a bitch." bianca said remembering when leo said that during their dads funeral.

"cancer is a bitch." lena said causing bianca to have a tiny grin at her mom cussing. "no te pongas triste mi cielo, susannah simpre va estar en tu corazón."

"god i really wish i understood that." leo muttered shaking his head.

"she said, to not be sad because susannah will always be inside of our hearts." bianca said sniffing up her tears and blinking rapidly. "just like dad with the ocean."

lena was taken back by what she said. "he told you that too?" she asked glancing over at her son who nodded his head and gave her a frown. "of course he did."

the three wayne's stayed quiet for the rest of the car ride. to take her mind off susannah and getting even more depressed she thought about her upcoming year as a senior. she knew what schools she was going to apply to but she was still scared. she had to be on her a game the entire time. she wants to make her parents proud.

she wants to be the second generation of their family to graduate. blaise and lena were the first generation in america since their parents migrated from their country's. it was much more easier being the second generation due to their parents going through the harder part. but it still didn't mean that bianca didn't want to make her parents and grandparents proud of her. the second generation in america.

her innocent was hanging by a thread there to begin with at the start of summer. now, it's on the other side where she can't reach.

steven. steven. steven. steven. steven. steven. god how badly she was and is still in love with the oldest conklin sibling. it hurts her sometimes on how strong her love for him is. it hurts how easily it was to wreck.

"okay, so, what's the plan?" a voice rang through her ear. bianca frowned her eyebrows and glanced at the pink haired boy. yoshi. he is an exchanged student from spain who came to her school at the start of senior year.

him and bianca hit it off easily during their first period on the first day of school. he noticed how sad bianca was and then started telling her some very ridiculous jokes that bianca didn't laugh but she gave him a frown for the effort.

soon yoshi knew everything. he knew about cousins beach. about the fishers, about the conklins. about the love of her life. about susannah and her dad. and bianca knew everything about yoshi. turns out their life's are both fucked up.

"plan? for what?" bianca whispered tapping her mechanical pencil on her geometry text book.

"for after graduation? you did say we were going to have loads of plans for the summer." yoshi said leaning all the way forward on his desk and grinning at his only friend. "oh and guess who i had a heavy make out session with."

by the way he was wiggling his eyebrows bianca let out a groan. "please don't tell me it was car—"

"carlos! ugh, i know. he's just so," yoshi turned his head and eyed the hispanic boy that was on the other side of the room with dreamy eyes. bianca glanced at him as well and cringed. "cute."

"a fuckboy." bianca said at the same time and looked at yoshi. "yosh, couldve you have fallen in love with the nerd from robotics club?"

"bianca, you shouldn't be talking because we're literally going to your boyfriends graduation ceremony and party. oh wait, i forgot the ex in the front." yoshi said squinting his eyes at bianca.

"what are you talking about, bianca." steven said frowning his eyebrows deeply. the rain pouring hard and no roof above them to cover. they were both drenching.

"i made a promise, steven." bianca whispered shaking her head and wiping away the tears and the rain coming down her face.

"you made a promise?! stop the bullshit bianca! you dad suggested it but you never promised it. you can't-you can't bianca. we can make it work, we've made it worked so far! we don't even live states away we only live five hours. bianca, bianca, please."

"i'm breaking up with you steven. i'm sorry."

"sorry, sorry, i didn't mean that." yoshi said realizing the way that bianca's whole mood changed. she was being reckless. between susannah, the stress of being a senior and making her mom proud she didn't know what to do. she hates herself for it. she feels stupid for doing it.

"at least you're going to be there with me to keep me steady. like my emotional support animal." bianca said grinning softly at shrugging her shoulders.

"can i be a golden retriever?" yoshi asked wanting to brighten up the mood as well. bianca managed to make the grin turn into a smile. yoshi didn't even have to do anything to brighten up her mood. without yoshi, bianca doesn't think she would've been able to go through senior year if yoshi wasn't there.

yoshi is like her spirit animal and bianca is his anchor.

nothing was going according to plan and bianca was about to stab someone dead if anything went wrong again. shayla decided to come down last minute and leo went to go pick her up. that was four hours ago. yoshi ripped his pants. and bianca couldn't find the dress she wanted to wear.

"how in the world did you— oh my gosh!" bianca groaned throwing yoshi's pants inside of the hotel closet and grabbing leo's pair. "here, wear my brothers he's probably not even going due to him and shayla being too busy shoving each others tongues together than go to this graduation. where's my mom? mom?! mom! mom, i can't find— mom!"

"bianca,"

"mom! i cant-i cant find my dress. mom!"

"bianca, i think you need—"

"i don't need anything, i need my mom! mom i can't find my dress! we have an hour left and i can't find— yoshi where is my mom!" bianca snapped screaming through the small hotel room while scanning the room for the purple dress that she still couldn't find.

"bianca seriously, i think you really need to take a breather." yoshi said putting the pants down but bianca shook her head starting to pull apart her entire suitcase. "bianca," yoshi said kneeling besides the girl but ignored him. "bianca." bianca started hyperventilating but didn't care until she found that dress. "bianca."

bianca broke down into tears clinging on the side of the suitcase and breathing heavily. yoshi scooted closer to her and wrapped his arms around her. bianca continued crying as she moved her head down to his shoulder and fisted her hands on his shirt.

"i know you're nervous about seeing him, bianca. but you can't let yourself get like this, it's not healthy." yoshi said and his eyes landed on the purple dress inside of the suitcase.

"what if he hates me so much. what if he doesn't want to see me. i know he doesn't want to see me. i didn't want to break his heart, i didn't want to break up with him. i wish i could go back to december and turn around and make it all right." bianca said her breath starting to get back steady but her fists still clinging onto the boy.

"i don't think he will ever hate you. from what you've told me and from what i've seen from videos and pictures of you two, steven is head over heels and no one and nothing you do can make him hate you. is he mad and sad? most likely. but hate you? bianca i think he rather have dinner with the entire suicide squad than hate you."

"you think he doesn't hate me?" bianca asked like a little kid asking if their mom or dad is mad at them for causing trouble.

"i think he will totally get jealous when he sees you wear this dress," yoshi said picking up the purple dress. bianca smiled softly at the pink haired boy. "and the outfit for the party."

"val and vlad. just saying, we can totally pull off as undercover spies." steven said coming out of the dressing room with an all black tux and a hat that made him look like a spy or someone from a high social class.

"those sound like vampire names. val and vlad." bianca said coming out at the same time with a purple dress. it was from an antique store but it still suited her like a modern dress. she loves it and steven sure did seem to love it too.

"imagine us being vampires. we can be the queen and king of our own kingdom." steven said wiggling his eyebrows and taking a step forward.

"you're a huge nerd, you know that?" bianca teased lifting up the dress slightly but smiled at her boyfriend.

"mhm, so i've been told, val." steven said taking another step forward causing bianca to take a step back. the two continued in that same step routine until bianca and steven entered back to her dressing room and bianca's back hit with the wall.

"lucky for you," bianca said as she felt her heart beating out of her chest as steven took one last step. their bodies pressed up against each other and his fingers finding their way to her hip dips. "i think some nerds are cute."

"some?" steven muttered both of his fingers trailing up and down her waist. one of his arms went behind her body and pressed onto her back. she arched her back pressing herself even more against him.

"like one percent of nerds." bianca whispered bringing her arms around his neck. steven smirked to himself and leaned down until their lips connected. she loves his lips on hers.

her lips his lips create a pure apocalypse.

"you look beautiful, bianca." belly said excitedly once she spotted bianca come inside of the auditorium. bianca smiled at the girl and went to go hug her. belly's eyes then shifted over to the pink boy behind her.

"hi, i'm yoshi." he said shyly waving his hand and fixing his clear glasses.

"nice to meet you, i'm belly." the girl said waving back at yoshi who seemed relived. "come, i saved you guys a seats."

bianca nervously glanced up to the front rows of all the graduating students. they were all wearing the same thing but she couldn't spot him. bianca was kind of missing her own graduation. they wore red instead of yellow and blue.

yoshi was the one doing the speech and bianca cried from the beginning to the end. especially when yoshi made his only special dedication to her, his mom and his dog.

bianca flattened down her layered purple dress and fixed the strips on her shoulder back up. her leg bounced up and down. she was feeling anxious knowing that they were only a few feet away from each other.

lena sat down besides laurel and john sat on the other side of laurel. belly was sat besides her dad with bianca and then yoshi. the class of 2023 then made their ways up the stage to receive their desplomas. steven didn't even glance towards her as his eyes were only on his mom who gave him a proud look.

then it was time for his speech.

"everyone says that everything happens for a reason. now they are exactly unclear. maybe a theologian coined it," everyone laughed softly with him. "or, i don't know, whoever configured the simulation we're clearly living in." bianca managed to crack a small smile but it didn't go all the way. "maybe it was rhianna."

bianca and yoshi gave each other a look and almost burst into laughter but contained it inside.

"no, no, no. rihanna can do no wrong. it was definitely not her." and then his eyes landed on her. he knew that she was going to be here but he never prepared himself to actually see her. sitting. at a perfect view in front of him. she's beautiful.

"but we've heard it time and time again. it's supposed to convinced us. you know, that everything had to happen exactly so, in order to teach us something about ourselves. in order for us to grow and meet out destiny."

bianca and steven locked eyes and it was as if the world stopped completely for them. god how much she still loves him. she doesn't think shes ever or will ever stop. and his eyes can never have enough of her.

"i think that's bs." steven said letting out a chuckle and shaking his head. "i'm sorry, mom and lena, sorry." the two moms laughed and held each others hands. "you know, breakups don't always lead to breakthroughs. sometimes the girl that you have visioned your future with, breaks up with you and it sucks before you never understand why. why. and no matter how much you overthink it, how much you beat yourself over it, you never learn something from it."

yoshi squeezed bianca's hand noticing the way that her eyes whelmed up with tears and her leg was bouncing up and down even more than before. belly did the same thing with her hand other. taylor joined as well, a bit in between the speech, and looked confused.

"but you eventually force yourself to move on anyways. but then the unthinkable happens, and you realize it's pointless to think of life that way because everything just happens. you know, good things, bad things, all in ways that you'd never expected. all in ways that are so completely out of your control that they could just drive you insane."

"where's my beautiful girl?" blaise asked kneeling down while looking around the very pink room. he had a unicorn blanket draped over his shoulder and he had the biggest smile that no one was going to be able to wipe away because he's with the girl of his dreams. his girl. his daughter.

bianca let out a giggle putting her small hands over her mouth as she hid underneath her bed. blaise could recognize her giggles from country's away. it's hard to imagine, but his smile only grew.

"is she here?" he pulled a blanket over but she was clearly not.

"no daddy!" bianca giggled out.

"is she," blaise got closer to the bed and checked on the bed. "here!"

"you're so bad at hide and seek." bianca said continuing to giggle. blaise smiled before kneeling more down to the ground until his head was underneath the bed. "oh no!"

"there you are my perfect little girl."

"there are times when it feels like the world is happening to you but remember are also happening to the world. so don't wait, make what you want happen because tomorrow isn't promised so you better make fucking sure that you are living today."

everyone started clapping as loud as they can and cheered for the boy that just made an impactful speech to the entire high school. bianca wiped away her tears along with yoshi who was close to sobbing and clapped her hands together. yoshi whistled and bianca followed along with him.

steven spotted bianca with yoshi but despite his jealousy burning inside of him he smiled. he smiled because she was here. listening to him. being there for him.

and the story of steven and bianca look a lot like a tragedy now. next chapter.
