Chapter 15

Adam lays his head on Tim's chest as he pays absentmindedly with the spirit's fingers.

"What's keeping you here?" The blonde asks. "Being a physic medium, I know of different reasons why a spirit can't cross over. Their lives were taken from them in a gruesome way such as murder, suicide, or tragic death. I've even known of spirits not being at rest because of unmarked graves. Your situation fits a lot of those categories."

"True." Tim nods as he runs his fingers up and down his lover's back. "But the reason that I'm still here is that my murder was very violent and it was never brought to justice. My body is lying in an unmarked grave. No coffin, no tombstone, no nothing. But. I was already here before my body was buried."

"You weren't even buried in a coffin?" Adam asks as he raises his head to look at the spirit.

"No. My body actually hung in that tree a couple of days before they cut it down. They just dug a hole and threw my body down in it. I actually watched from the balcony. After they filled in the grave, my dad spits on it." Tim says with a heavy sigh.

"That's so sad." Adam says as he swallows the lump that had risen in his throat.

"One of the slaves that I managed to free did slip up here and put a handmade cross on my grave." Tim says with a slight smile.

"Well, that would mean that a marker or tombstone would not affect you." Adam says.

They stop talking as they hear heavy footsteps coming up the hall and stopping just outside their bedroom door.

"Yes, Austin?" Tim calls out with a slight chuckle.

"Tell Blondie that he has company coming up the driveway." Austin says.

"Thanks, Austin." Adam says as he gets up and begins to get dressed. "Why was he stomping?" He giggles as he pulls the tieback from his ponytail and runs his fingers through his hair.

"So we'd hear him." Tim answers as he too begins to get dressed.

"That's probably Chance and Sami." Adam groans slightly as he bends down to get his shoes.

"You okay?" Tim asks.

"Yeah. Just answer me this, am I walking funny?" Adam asks before limping across the bedroom toward the door.

"Uhhh, no comment." Tim chuckles.

Adam slowly makes his way down the stairs while Tim and Austin watch from the balcony of the stairs.

Austin rolls his eyes and shakes his head at the way the blonde was walking.

The doorbell rings just as Adam reaches the bottom step. He stops long enough to try to regain his composure. His ass hurt so bad.

"Hey." Adam smiles as he opens the door for his friends.

"Did we wake you?" Chance asks as he notices his friend's rough appearance.

"Uh, I just got up from a nap." Adam says as he heads into the living room. He paid close attention to the way he was walking. Trying hard not to limp but was unsuccessful.

"You alright? You seem to be limping a little." Sami asks.

"Charliehorse." Adam answers with a slight chuckle before changing the subject. "So what's up?"

"Sami and I were planning on going to the club tonight and we stopped by to see if you wanted to go." Chance says. "You haven't left this place since you've moved in."

"Besides that, there's another reason why I'd like for you to come with us." Sami smiles as she pulls out her phone. She pulls up a picture and hands the phone to Adam.

He sees a picture of a guy that he would have to admit was very handsome but still, no Tim. He slowly looks up from the photo.

"His name is Geoff Castellucci. He's a friend of mine. I showed him a picture of you and he's really interested in meeting you." Sami smiles.

"As in, a date?" Adam asks.

"Uh oh, Cowboy. There may be a storm brewing." Austin whispers with a smirk on his lips. He receives a not so pleasant glance for the cowboy.

"Yeah, he could meet us at the club tonight." Sami says.

Adam could feel the watcher's eyes staring down at them from the landing.

"Thanks, Sami, but I'm really not interested." Adam smiles politely as he hands her back the phone. "I'm very happy the way things are."

"He's a very sweet guy, Adam." Sami continues to try and persuade him.

"I'm sure he is but I'm still not interested." Adam chuckles.

"You know I love you, Bro., but you've been acting kinda strange since you've moved into this house." Chance says. "You're not possessed are you?"

"Possessed?" Adam laughs. "No, Chance, I'm not possessed."

"Are you seeing someone that you haven't told us about?" Sami asks.

"Would Y'all like a beer?" Adam asks as he gets up and heads to the kitchen.

"You're changing the subject but yes, I would." Chance calls out from the living room.

"He has to be seeing someone. Did you see that big hickey on his neck?" Sami whispers to her boyfriend.

"Shhhh." Chance silences her as Adam reenters with three beers.

"So who is it?" Sami asks as she takes the beer that was offered to her.

"Who's who?" Adam asks as he takes a seat.

"The guy that put that big ass hickey on your neck, that's who." Sami says with a raised brow.

"Okay, guys, don't lose your sh*t alright?" Adam says with a smile. "It was Tim."

"The ghost?" Chance asks. "Is he the one possessing you?"

"I'm not possessed, Chance." Adam laughs.

"Is he the one not allowing you to leave the house?" Chance asks.

"What?? No, I can leave whenever I want. Just don't feel the need to." Adam answers.

"Did you two make out?" Sami smiles as she leans over wanting to hear the details.

"Uh, that's kinda personal, don't you think." Adam chuckles.

Sami gasps as she covers her mouth with her hand.

"Oh, my God." She whispers in a soft voice. "You did! You did have sex and that's why you're walking with a limp."

"Are you fricking kidding me right now, Bro??!!" Chance asks. "You're living with a f*cking incubus??"

Tim's jaw drops and a look comes over his face as if he had been slapped.

"Oooooo, I wouldn't take that if I were you." Austin says.

"Oh, Hell Naw." Tim growls as he begins to descend the stairs.

"This is going to be sooo good." Austin giggles as he runs over and sits down on the steps so he could watch.

The sound of footsteps on the stairs catches everyone's attention. To be precise, the sound of boots on the stairs catches everyone's attention.

"Oh. My. God." Sami whispers as she could not believe her eyes.

Chance's eyes widen with fear as he sees a figure forming as it comes down the stairs.

"Two things, first of all, I find it very disturbing to be called an incubus. An incubus is a demon. I am NOT a demon." Tim says as he makes his way to the bottom step. "Second, an incubus f*cks a woman while she's sleeping. Adam is definitely not a woman and he definitely was not asleep."

Tim slowly walks into the living room. He was now in full human form.

"As a matter of fact, the first time that we made love, I was the one who provoked it. Not Tim." Adam says.

"Why, Mr. Chance, you look a little pale. I'd like to officially introduce myself. I am, in fact,..." Tim says as he extends his hand out to Chance. "Timothy Foust."
