Chapter 38: Accusations
Throughout the early afternoon, Jimin was at work and contemplated many things as he sat in his spacious office. He recalled the long and hot morning he shared with his Master and then after, they sat in the bathroom with Jungkook crying over his lap. Yet, Jimin knew those tears were fake. It was the fact that Jungkook's new behavior caused him to react like this and it was obvious Jungkook's tears weren't real. Jungkook would only cry if he lost Jimin… Not over something so pointless at that. Jungkook teared up so easily and it was noticeable how he pouted and his bottom lip quivered right after. Whispering in a soft voice that he wanted to protect Jimin, all of this just to make his boyfriend's heart feel heavy.
"Oh my Jungkookie… He seems different. Of course those tears weren't real… I know him already but at the same time, I don't. I didn't know he had this side to him. He's difficult… Yet, I put up with him because I love him… He might hurt someone and the worse thing I'll do is stay with him and try to help." Jimin thought on in his mind while he folded his hands together and pressed his head against his own knuckles. "I need to have a talk with him… surely I can't sit and ignore these actions." As Jimin thought about his boyfriend longer, the landline telephone began to ring. Causing Jimin's thoughts to be cut short.
Jimin rose a finger to a button and cleared his voice. "What do you need, Jihyun?" Jimin asked as he awaited his brother's voice.
"Kim Taehyung is here to see you. He brings you a gift from Mr. Yoshida, should I send him in?" Jihyun asked. Leaving Jimin to roll his eyes and drop his head forward. Not wanting to see anyone before him.
"Send him in." Jimin answered and removed his finger from the button. Waiting for Taehyung to walk in. As soon as the doors were opened by an elderly lady dressed elegantly, Taehyung walked in with a wide bouquet of roses in his hands and a card that had Jimin's name written on it. Taehyung made an appearance with a black turtleneck sweater, beige khakis, held with a black belt along with brown classic shoes. The younger walked in with the bouquet as he stopped and gave a rose to the elderly lady before walking forward as the doors closed. Jimin stood up and tilted his head before fixing the cuffs to his white dress shirt.
"Hello, Jimin…" Taehyung greeted Jimin and reached the desk to place a bouquet of roses. Carrying such a pleasant and lovely smell. "These are from Seung-Woo. You are such a lucky man." Taehyung spoke carefully as he rose his gaze up to Jimin. "You don't like them?"
"The roses are lovely… But getting roses from him endlessly ruins the purpose of being friends or keeping things professional." Jimin mentioned and let out a scoff right after. "He sent you to bring these roses to me now?"
"If you don't like them-"
"Leave it here, my father will kill me if I reject another gift of his." Jimin answered and sat down on the office chair to let out a sigh. "You can go."
"J-Jimin… Do you know anyone by the name of… Jeon Jungkook?" Taehyung whispered and the way he looked down with his eyes that grew teary, sent many signals to Jimin. "Boss mentioned the name to you yesterday and I rather hoped you knew who he was. Mr. Yoshida told me that he's your boyfriend and I… hope I can help you." Taehyung uttered and bit his lip as he sat down and tears fell from his eyes so suddenly.
"Yes… I know him. What about him?" Jimin asked and wondered what Taehyung had to say about his boyfriend. Flags went off in Jimin's head but the way Taehyung cried, was enough to make Jimin worry. Taehyung cried so much emotion and pain; Jimin just wondered if something about Jungkook, left Taehyung looking nervous as if he was traumatized. "Taehyung, you can tell me… Right?"
"R-Right…" Taehyung sobbed and looked up at Jimin. "Jeon Jungkook… Is a bad person…." Taehyung weeped and covered his face. "He's a bad person who hurts others… Including me… I met him once in the same club he invites many others and I didn't want to dance with him. So he hurt me. Pulled me into a room and thought I was some spy! He punched me and left me helpless… I thought he was insane! I didn't know him and he claimed he worked for the big boss but he was the boss all along! I had no one to complain to…" Cried Taehyung and rose his sweater to expose a scar down his chest. "He's unstable and he's a maniac, Jimin!"
Jimin was left shocked. He looked at the crying mess Taehyung was in and grew sympathetic. He let out a sigh and looked down. Everything in his mind told him that this didn't seem right. Jungkook wasn't like this at all… Or was he? Jimin couldn't tell how he felt and was left believing every word. "Is that why you look afraid most of the time? Because of what Jungkook did to you? It must be a traumatic experience..."
"Y-Yes… Jimin… I'm warning you. If Jungkook didn't raise his hand on you, he will do it soon! He's unstable and he's insane. There are… People who are worthy of love… and there are people who are not. It doesn't take much to know that Jungkook doesn't fall under those who are worthy of love." Taehyung concluded and rolled down his sweater to hide the scar. Taehyung never said when this took place, but the scar over his chest looked as if it happened years back. Leaving Jimin to think that this was before he himself met Jeon Jungkook.
"Thank you… I'll be sure to have a talk with him. Take care, Taehyung." Jimin concluded and before the young man could head out, Jimin gave the younger a hug. Causing Taehyung to smile and hug him back. Longer than what Jimin expected. Jimin didn't know what to do. Taehyung was a walking evidence of Jungkook's bad side to his behavior. Accusations like these just couldn't leave Jimin's mind all day.
As soon as the day concluded, Jimin carried the rose bouquet in his hands and walked out of the building where his brother complained about the long day he had; running around and bringing coffee to his father. Along the way, Jihyun learned to appreciate his job and treat Jimin better! Jimin was relaxed about it now and no longer had to worry about his younger brother excluding him from everything. Once they reached the parking lot, Jimin sat in his car as his brother joined him and that was when the grey clouds were already swarming around them.
"Oh, look Jimin! It's going to rain! I'm actually craving some 'bro' time. Let's drink today and order pizza." Jihyun spoke happily. However, Jimin looked out at the grey skies. Only then, Jimin handed Jihyun the bouquet of roses and began to pull out of the parking lot.
"I'm busy. I have to go meet up with my boyfriend." Jimin told his brother and began to drive as rain sprinkled onto the windshields. Leading Jimin to turn on the windshield wipers. As he heard the noise of the wipers, he thought of Seokjin and then the gang. He longed to see them but knowing he wouldn't be able to guide them this time left him to sigh. Having to let Jungkook take over after so long.
"Ah! You're always going around with this man and never spending time with me!" Hissed Jihyun and folded his arms to look away. "You're mean…"
"For a mature professional… You do like to sound like a child." Jimin shot back and drove home to drop Jihyun and the car off just so he could go walking to the base. Jimin wasn't in a good mood for the day; mostly because Taehyung reached out to him and warned him about Jungkook. Jimin knew not to let these emotions show especially when he was going to face Jungkook and the gang later. Finally, Jimin dropped Jihyun off at home and parked his car before walking off when the rain began to pour. All Jimin had at work was two cups coffee along with four muffins… however, he couldn't eat anything else after seeing Taehyung like that. This only left Jimin with no other choice but to talk this one out with Jungkook later.
Once Jimin reached the base, he knocked on the door six times as soon as a knock was heard while the rain grew heavy over the streets of Seoul. Jimin waited for the door to open and that's when his eyes met with Seokjin's gleeful face to see Jimin made it once more. "Boss!" Seokjin spoke happily and stepped aside to let Jimin in. "Six is already here, should I bring you to the meeting?" Seokjin asked as Jimin nodded his head and made a smile. Trying to disregard those accusations Taehyung made before. As Jimin walked with Jin to the center of the private building, he noticed Jungkook was already wearing his Oni mask and speaking to the group. Jimin didn't want to interrupt, so he stood next to Jin to hear Jungkook out.
"Missions have succeeded with Jimin and now I am here. This is my first time back and I'm glad to be back. Work has stacked on top of me for so long that's why I left you all with Jimin. Let alone my injury, that became one of the reasons why I had to let Jimin take over. I hope you all like him as a leader since he will be working alongside me. You'll have two leaders just so if one of us can't make the mission, you'll have the other. Just so there wouldn't be any more excuses. Today we have a mission at a museum. But it's not like any other museum… This museum is private and the owner… Let's cut this short and just say that they are bad people. Everyone we steal from is bad." Claimed the man as Jimin folded his arms and leaned back to listen further.
"Ah, Boss… Stealing for charity is too much work and then exposing the owners." Complained one of the gang members as Jungkook only shrugged. "No one nowadays is good in these businesses...I'm surprised you know so much about them."
"Well, it's every dark secret behind a business. Of course, you all get paid don't you? Let's stop talking now and get your masks and gears on. We have a museum to invade and don't forget to hack into their system to find evidence. We can't report them if we don't have evidence." Jungkook mentioned as the gang stood up and walked out in single filed lines. Jimin smiled just hearing how nice of a leader Jungkook has become, but even then… These weren't enough to flick off Jimin's thoughts on Jungkook that grew based off the accusations from earlier.
Once the room was cleared from gang members, Seokjin had to gear up as that left Jungkook and Jimin alone for once. "There's my Swan~ I thought you weren't going to show up!" Jungkook chuckled and rose his mask above his head before approaching Jimin with a smile. "But you showed up just for us…"
"Am I not needed for this mission?" Jimin wondered and walked up to Jungkook to meet him halfway before wrapping his arms over Jungkook's neck like always. Pushing their serious conversation for later.
"You always are. Just… Be careful, my love… I don't know what I'd do if I were to lose you…" Jungkook whispered and hugged Jimin against his body. Jimin noticed that his rough side was constantly hidden through his caring side. No matter what, Jungkook was desperate to keep it in and hide it from Jimin even if Jimin knew Jungkook to the point where he could read his actions like a book. On the other hand, Jimin just couldn't deny those accusations alone… Jimin looked back to when Seokjin mentioned how unstable Jungkook truly was back then. Leading Jimin to believe it and long to tear up into the hug he shared with his boyfriend at that very moment.
