Chapter 23: Value
After Jimin asked that question, Jihyun had no idea how to answer if he never really know the answer. Even he didn't seem to understand why the boss chose Jimin out of him. This was just like Jungkook and how he chose to talk with Jimin in order to collaborate with the Phoenix. It made Jimin feel uncomfortable that he didn't know the boss' intentions… However, he did know Jungkook's intentions as to why he chose him out of his brother. Taehyung's boss? Not so much.
Jimin sat on the couch and in seconds, a timer went off from the man's coat before his eyes pulled wide and batted his gaze around. "Taking a nap for under or at least forty-five minutes could prevent you from feeling groggy and upset when you wake up." Taehyung suddenly mentioned and sat up before looking to the side where Jimin sat. "You must be the oldest Park brother. Hello, Jimin. My name is Kim Taehyung and I represent Mr. Yoshida; the man you were supposed to have this meeting with. Mr. Yoshida is busy handling business overseas, but he sent me here to talk with you…" Taehyung spoke into his raspy and deep voice and looked at Jimin. Almost as if he was observing him completely and taking down every note about him.
"I see… So, may we get started? Sorry about being late-"
"Mr. Yoshida forgives you." Interrupted the young man as Jimin grew silent and looked ahead where Jihyun suddenly ran out of the living room to go upstairs. Not wanting to intervene with the meeting.
"I- okay…." Jimin silenced himself and felt like biting his own tongue from the worries that came over him. He had no idea what this Boss wanted from him, but for sure he sat there and listened to whatever Taehyung had to say. "Can you first tell me what is the company you are working for? And what could we benefit from your company into ours."
"Well, our company is called 'Shooting Star' in our company we sell clothing and perfume. If we collaborate here, we would launch a campaign with your liquors along with our fragrances. Let alone the outfits as well. Who can turn down the offer of colognes, best suits, and the best liquor in all of Korea? Phoenix has potential to match with our aesthetic in this new campaign. Mr. Yoshida wouldn't want me to come back empty handed. This is a chance to spread more of your sells and our company to work with you. What do you have to say about that?"
"I love the idea. Launching a campaign like that with a dark and seductive theme would match with that as well. I can picture it perfectly." Jimin added and began to think on it. "The commercials and photoshoots for it will be perfect! We can think up of models to pay for in our commercials to promote those things."
"I love the idea too! I'll be sure to mention it to Mr. Yoshida. Give me a moment. Do you accept to let us work with you?" Taehyung asked as he held up his phone to call his boss. "If you do, please read our contract and sign with it." Taehyung mentioned before setting his phone down once more and set the papers out for Jimin to sign. As Jimin scooted closer to the table to hold up the contract to read, he crossed his leg over the other and began to read it. Silently, Taehyung slowly rose his phone up to take a picture of Jimin silently and then began to call his boss. Once he took those pictures, he sent them to one of his contacts named 'Boss' meaning to send those pictures of Jimin to his boss; Mr. Yoshida before he gave him a call.
Jimin didn't notice Taehyung taking a picture of him without him knowing as he read over contract carefully. Hoping he wouldn't find anything off. "Ah, Mr. Yoshida. Good evening, Boss. We have a deal and Phoenix is interested in working with us. We also made up ideas for the campaign commercials if you're interested?"
Jimin watched the smile erupt from Taehyung's face as he held the phone to his ear. "Yes… I'll tell you about them. We'll need to order models to take this into consideration. Celebrities as well! Public faces are a must. Yes… Yes… Alright. I'll talk to you about it later." Taehyung mentioned before fixing his gaze over to Jimin and hanging up. "Did you sign?"
"Still reading them." Jimin answered and managed to get through the first page and sign at the bottom before reading the next one and signing it after. Everything seemed very promising and Jimin trusted the Shooting Star company with every signature he did. Signing for the company after ensuring that this was safe for the family business. "Done. That's all you needed me to do?" Jimin asked and watched how silent Taehyung grew. Almost as if he was speechless in front of Jimin completely as he observed every point to him. "What?"
"My boss… Mr. Yoshida would love to know more about you… I'm here to represent and being an interesting person to work with, is a big deal to him." Taehyung added and gazed down to Jimin's muscular and petite body. "A… Big deal…"
"Hm…" Jimin hummed and right where he knew exactly where Taehyung's eyes wandered, Jimin suddenly stood up and folded his arms before stepping up to the younger. "You can't keep your eyes off of me… What's your deal? I'm not going to do anything with you to seal the deal. If you think that's what I do, you are wrong." Jimin uttered. But, Taehyung was still gawking and becoming too observant.
"I-I'm sorry… I like to observe when I meet someone new. So, I take time to look at them! I don't mean any harm… Please don't try to think I'm doing something other than that!" Taehyung begged as he looked down. However, it wasn't the truth. He was sent to learn more about Jimin for his boss and took many pictures of the man when he wasn't looking.
"Oh, I think I should be the one who says that…" Whispered Jimin as he placed his hands into the pockets of his boyfriend's joggers. "What else do you need to learn from me? Is it necessary for you to know?"
"Believe it or not, Mr. Yoshida loves it when I tell him about his new partnerships and absolutely adores it when I mention them. That's you. He can't help but to get so excited over you, Jimin. He discovered you through the night he entered one of the most elegant nightclubs that are invites only. He saw you there and noticed you look a lot similar to your brother and your father. By there, he did some research, tried one of the many great boozes from Phoenix, and began to think that your father's company will make a great collaboration! Oh just telling him made him excited."
"How old is your boss?" Jimin asked as Taehyung tried to recall in his head.
"I don't remember the exact age but he's around his late twenties. He's young." Taehyung added in walking over to Jimin just to sit down on the couch and look up at him. "Mr. Yoshida would have loved to come here today… But business called and he had no other choice but to go. I guess it's pretty unprofessional for him to do such a thing and hide away from people like you. Jimin, Mr. Yoshida cares and focuses on the value of this partnership. He's a good man. You just need to choose a right day to meet up with him." The way Taehyung spoke made it seem as if he was trying to get Jimin interested in his boss. But, Jimin just could never see it.
"Maybe soon, I'll get to meet him in person. Until then, tell him that I am extremely grateful for having this collaboration with your company." At that moment, Jimin's gaze fixed upwards and locked onto the clock above his head. Wanting to go back to his lover, but Taehyung just wouldn't leave. "At what time will yo-" Suddenly, Taehyung's phone began to ring as the younger quickly snatched it and got up to answer as quick as lightning.
"Hello? Yes, Boss. Right now…?" Taehyung asked and slowly rose his gaze onto Jimin and cleared his throat in seconds. "I'll talk to him about it, then." Taehyung promised and had Jimin tilting his head to gawk at him longer. "Thank you… I'll call back if there is an answer. Yes, I will…" Taehyung spoke into the phone and hung up before setting his phone away seconds after. "Change of plans on the commercial…"
"What is it?" Asked the older in worry. He believed the idea would be rejected, but once Taehyung made a smile, Jimin felt a little at ease. "Is there something wrong?"
"No. Mr. Yoshida would love you to be in the commercial. He doesn't want any other public figure or celebrity to be in it. He wants you! He believes you hold value to this collaboration and would like for you to be the model to the commercial. Would you like to take it? We have all year and we can shoot it in a month from now." Promised Taehyung while Jimin pondered the thought longer to himself. Why did the boss invest so much time on Jimin? The man grew silent as he thought to himself. "Please say yes… It's a perfect opportunity and Mr. Yoshida will be pleased. Take all the time you need to make up your mind! We can't go on any further without an answer. No pressure!" Taehyung continued.
The boy spoke as if his life was on the line. There was something Jimin didn't know about the boss and that was the fact that Mr. Yoshida ordered his representative around just to fill in his business necessities. It was an important job and Jimin could see how much Jihyun wanted his spot. Representing the company was a big deal in the Phoenix and Jimin was now realizing it. "Of course… I would love to be the model for the commercial. It's not my type of thing, but I'm interested. I think it would be a great opportunity." Instantly, Taehyung smiled with excitement and clapped his hands in gleefully.
"Thank you! I'm so glad to work with you on the commercial and have you on set for it! You'll be perfect, Mr. Yoshida will be very pleased!" Taehyung continued as Jimin began to giggle to himself just seeing how happy the representative has gotten. After an hour into the evening, Taehyung stayed to interview Jimin; yet, it was like they got to know each other and became friends. All the information Taehyung gathered was to be given to Mr. Yoshida so he could be able to connect as if he was in the meeting at that very moment. Jimin found it odd how desperate Taehyung was to serve his boss and how involved he was with his work, but he understood that this was an honorable spot to be in.
That evening, Taehyung gathered the signed contracts and set them into his leather briefcase. After he successfully met Jimin, had him sign, and know more about him; Taehyung sent pictures he took of Jimin when he wasn't looking, to his boss along with all he learned about the man that night. Taehyung walked out of the house as Jimin stood at the doorway to ensure nothing happens to Kim Taehyung. However, he didn't seem to notice that there was a car parked a block down. Inside that car, was no one other than Jungkook. Spying at the man who stayed long at Jimin's house.
Jungkook gripped onto the wheel and rolled the tip of his tongue along his inner cheek. Watching Taehyung make it to his own car and sit inside while Jimin watched him leave. Jungkook took a moment to stare longer before he made a soft smirk and tapped his fingertips along the wheel. He grew suspicious of the fact that the meeting took too long and couldn't help but to question many things. Of course, it wasn't his fault he was like this. Jungkook just didn't like the fact that Jimin was away from him almost every day and at any point of day, Jungkook grew to despise being lonely when he knew his Swan was just a call away. Jungkook just couldn't leave Jimin alone for a day. The love he had for him was this sweet and aching addiction; begging him to see what Jimin was up to every second.
