Chapter 13: Two Beating Hearts
Jimin couldn't even clear his own mind just hearing the way Jungkook brought his own words to life, left the small feeling of fearing Jungkook; growing much more deeper than before. Those same cryptic words and feelings Jimin got from Jungkook, left him realizing why he felt that way. How could Jungkook talk about his brother's death like it was okay? Jimin sat there and watched the rich man smile and place his order ahead of Jimin's. Right there, it felt like all Jimin could hear was the piercing sounds of nothing filling his ears. But only then, those muffled voices were put away once Jungkook then turned his head to face Jimin.
“Jimin?” Jungkook called out for the third time as the man then snapped out of his inner thoughts and looked up at Jungkook and then the waiter. “Do you want me to order for you, or do you want to?”
“O-Order for me…” Jimin answered as Jungkook then closed the menu before him and handed it to the waiter.
“He will have the same.” Jungkook answered as the waiter nodded his head before looking at Jimin in concern. That worried and scared face Jimin masqueraded around with, did not go unnoticed by the waiter who took down the order. As soon as the employee left, Jungkook drew his attention to Jimin once more before sliding closer through the booth and sat next to Jimin; just to ask him what was wrong. Jimin silently heard Jungkook slide over the curve within the booth, raising his hand to the older's chin to point to his face once he was close enough to share a breath. “What's wrong with you?” Jungkook whispered and looked down at Jimin's lips before looking at his eyes.
“Everything is fine…” Lied the man as Jungkook removed his hand from Jimin's chin.
“No it's not… You got that way as soon as I told you about my brother.” Jungkook mentioned and tilted his head. “What do you need to know about it?”
“He… He died and you said it in a tone as if… It didn't matter at all!” Uttered the man as Jungkook then leaned back against the booth seat and exhaled.
“You don't think… I killed him, did you?” Jungkook questioned and looked at Jimin. Hoping he would deny that assumption, but the silence seemed to fall across their faces and that's when Jungkook understood that, that was where Jimin's head was at. “Jimin… I would never kill my own brother over this position! I can't believe you would think that… I'm numb to it, I don't have the emotion for it. I cried everyday years ago and now, I just moved on. That's the only reason why I don't react to it in a sad way. I only reply and keep it professional.” Jungkook confessed as Jimin looked down.
“I'm sorry…”
“It's okay. You'd be surprised how many people think that. Especially my father… I was with my brother on the day of his death, then someone… happened.” Jungkook whispered and looked over at his date. “That someone… It was some man with a black bat. He came around the corner and beat him up for no reason! I remember his face… his voice… he then ran off in his motorcycle with his stupid mask. I tried to get to him, but he was already running off before I could reach him. Before I knew it, my brother was already dying.” Jungkook added and scoffed right after. “Ah, I never told this to anybody… Only you…”
Right there, Jimin thought of the description Jungkook made and just knew it had to be the Oni. The Oni carried the bat and only now, the bat was in Jimin's possession. “Jungkook… I think I've seen the man who killed your brother.” Jimin spoke out as Jungkook looked down and shook his head while touching his silver Rolex over his wrist. “H-He's in a gang an-”
“Can we… Talk about this later? I don't want to talk about my brother and his killer while this night should be about us… tell me about it later, okay?” Jungkook asked as Jimin nodded his head. With silence swarming around them once more, Jungkook then felt Jimin's hands wrap around his body. After that, Jungkook was blushing once he looked down to see Jimin hugging him for comfort. But as Jungkook kept Jimin there, the younger wanted to cry, but he held those tears back now. “You're so caring towards me, Jimin…” Jungkook whispered and rolled Jimin's hair back as the man pressed his head over Jungkook's shoulder and leaned it against his neck carefully.
They shared a thoughtful and pleasing moment where their hearts beated in sync and they sat close for comfort. Jungkook just didn't know that this was what he was missing out on for so long before Jimin came into his life. Jungkook sat there with Jimin; caressing his Pink hair like it was cotton candy before the younger left a kiss over Jimin's head carefully. “Jungkook…” Jimin whispered and let out a cute giggle before looking up at the younger. “Why did you sign a six when you sent me that letter?” Jimin asked as the thought locked into mind.
“Six… that's my brother's favorite number.” Jungkook answered as Jimin nodded his head and understood. “Jimin, are you close with your brother?”
“No… But we used to. Stupid work got in the way and… I just couldn't try to get him back on my side. He hates me.” Jimin claimed. “He doesn't like that I got the position close to chairman. Once father retires, I'll take over and not him. He worked so hard for that spot and I just stepped in and took it! Then, he begins to make fun of me, take my car so I would have no way to work… Tells me how bad I've lived before getting this position, I can't help but to wonder what would happen if I step down from it? Will he talk to me again? Do you know how that makes me feel?”
“I think it's best if you go to him and talk to him… you would feel horrible just knowing that he's gone the next day. So, I think it's better if you talk to him.” Jungkook added and tried to assure Jimin a much more better idea to recover the friendship he had with his brother. After a while, their food was served. They had the same dishes of Kimchi Stew, side bowls of hot rice, another side dish of shredded beef that was sprinkled with pepper and drenched in the bitter soy sauce. The scent was mouth watering but, that wasn't all. There was a glass of white wine poured into two glasses alongside the meal and even then, there was plates of lettuce underneath barbecue sauce ribs. Jimin looked at the meal being set before him as he looked up at how much filled the table.
“Anything else?” The waiter asked as Jimin was mesmerized by the many dishes of food set before him like a king. Just then, Jungkook looked up at Jimin and awaited his answer. Wondering if he was thinking of anything else to order.
“No, that will be all.” Jimin answered to the waiter and his glance fixed over the meal once more. “Jungkook… This is too much! I don't eat like this normally…”
“Then I guess you will be taking home leftovers… A lot of it.” Jungkook mentioned as the older began to giggle to himself. “Do you like everything set before you?” Jungkook asked as he waited Jimin's answer. Jimin's eyes focused on every plate before he met eyes with Jungkook and nodded happily. “Let's eat, I can tell you had nothing all day. Of course, I wouldn't blame you… I've felt the same!” Jungkook chuckled and pulled his Kimchi stew close to begin eating once Jimin started. Together they ate and talked over their favorite meals in which, Jimin pointed out that this was one of his many favorites and those words made Jungkook excited to know more about the man.
As many minutes passed them by, Jimin was finally eating ribs and happened to get the barbecue sauce over his lips as the warm sauce slid down to his chin. Jungkook then looked up and had to hold a napkin to Jimin's face to wipe his lips clean. They spent their first date happily; Jungkook observed Jimin and talked to him like no other. They were perfect for each other and together, they realized it as well. Jungkook wiped the barbecue sauce from Jimin's chin and smiled sweetly.
“Jimin, you're a messy eater.” Jungkook whispered as Jimin let out an adoring giggle before looking away. “Why are you looking away? You're so adorable when you get flustered~” Jungkook continued to praise Jimin and make his date blush to the point where he covered his own face shyly.
“Stop it, I can't breathe!” Jimin laughed and finally caught his breath before looking at Jungkook and see the younger wipe his lip once more.
“Jimin, should we get going? I'll give you the rest of my leftovers for you to keep. If you want, I can also order-”
“No.” Jimin answered as Jungkook rose his brows in confusion. “This is enough, thank you, Jungkook.” Jimin added as Jungkook held Jimin's chin within his grasp. “Jungkook…”
“Where are you going? Don't leave now…” Jungkook whispered as he caressed Jimin's face carefully. Jungkook then leaned in and pressed his forehead against Jimin's head; having their noses touch while Jungkook kept Jimin's face pointed towards his. “Don't leave now… Don't you want to come home with me? Spend the night?” Jungkook continued to ask. His lips hovered over Jimin's as a tease.
“Spend the night… Come home with you…” Jimin thought and nodded his head. With that answer, Jungkook leaned in and kissed Jimin for the first time outside from sex. The younger dropped his hands onto Jimin's shoulders; kissing and moving his head along with Jimin as well. “I want to…” Jimin whispered and smiled into the kiss until their lips finally detached. “I want to go with you.” Jimin stood up and hugged Jungkook's body. “I don't want to go home for the night…”
“My place?” Jungkook asked as Jimin nodded his head. “Oh look at us… We've gotten too attached to even leave each other alone.” Jungkook laughed carefully against Jimin's ear as Jimin hugged him tightly. “Do you regret meeting me?”
“No…” Jimin answered and closed his eyes against Jungkook's soft and warm chest that felt like home to him. It was obvious that they felt a deep connection with each other. There was nothing holding them back from a potential relationship since their faces would turn red from every action they did that revolved around a simple gaze. This was a start of something new and Jungkook just couldn't think of doing anything else with his life without Jimin in it. When they hooked up that first night, they ended up growing attached from the very first second their lips touched. That night was just the start of everything and Jimin couldn't help but to treasure it altogether.
After Jungkook paid the bill and Jimin's leftovers were stored into plastic containers to take home, Jungkook walked Jimin to his own car and helped him inside. “I'll give you directions to follow me.” Jungkook assured. Holding the door open for Jimin and watched Jimin sit in the driver's seat and set the containers over the passenger's seat. “Don't get lost.” Jungkook added once more and before he could pull away, Jimin tugged Jungkook by the wrist and had him lean closer to him in the car.
Within seconds, Jimin threw his hands around Jungkook's neck and pulled him in to initiate another kiss. Jungkook's hand slammed against the steering wheel to grip onto the side, as his other hand dropped over Jimin's seat. Kissing Jimin underneath him as the pleasure of kissing Jimin's round lips, seemed to satisfy Jungkook greatly. Jungkook pulled his lips back and watched Jimin pull him in to kiss again. Hearing the older giggle into the kiss; left Jungkook's heart beating faster just knowing that Jimin was the one he wanted to kiss every morning he wakes up to this man's perfect and adoring face. Before, Jungkook was interested.. But now, Jungkook was falling hard for Jimin just the way the older did for him.
