The Cortez was filled with people. It was strange, it never normally had all that many visitors that weren't permanently stuck their, outside of Lotus.

Due to so many people being around Lotus had practically stuck herself with Elizabeth and Donovan in order to feel safe. Not that the two minded, Lotus was a fragile girl who had been broken, and stuck back together simply to be shattered again.

Despite being in the limelight more often then not, Lotus didn't like extra attention so she had found herself a seat before the lights could turn off and music could begin.

When the music had started, and the room was dimmed Donovan and Elizabeth had sat down, the male between the two women. He place his arm around his lover, before gently patting Lotus on her thigh, being sure only to touch the part closest to her knee.

Lotus gave him a smile before beginning to watch the show. She wasn't particularly a huge catwalk and fashion show kind of person herself, but she rather enjoyed watching them, through usually it was from behind a screen.

The models walked up and down in their clothes, a cool and collected atmosphere around them. For the most parts they looked like they should off been behind glass with a 'do not touch' sign, showing their beauty and delicacy.

"There's that cop that moved into 64." Donovan pointed out to Elizabeth.

"The police don't worry me."

"Isn't he a friend?" Lotus pointed out, keeping her voice low as her eyes briefly drifted over to Detective John Lowe.

No one answered the girl, not that she cared. Her eyes were back on the show and ignoring the many people around them.

"Hm, he's very handsome."

"You do have a type."

"He's married and has kids." Lotus chimed in.

"More the merrier." Elizabeth reminded Lotus.

Lotus hummed, not truly paying all that much attention. It was a pain having to hear them talk next to her as she tried to enjoy a show.

Silence soon passed over the other two as Lotus took Elizabeth drink, taking a swig.

Elizabeth let out a breath of air, but allowed Lotus to have it. The mere mortal needed to drink more so then she did.

Lotus gently tapped her fingers against the glass. It was a common action that often brought her great comfort.

Lotus looked away from the glass of alcohol in her hands and watched as a man clad with red began to walk. Unlike the others he did not have a cooler aura, but rather radiated fire and anger.

She felt drawn to him. Amongst the change in tone he was beautiful, in a rough sort of way rather then the elegancy she often hung around with.

The glass was plucked out of her hand by him, and she simply shrugged it off. He downed the drink as he walked further up the designated area.

Upon finishing the liquid, he brought his hand to the fabric around his neck and pulled it off.

"Did they hire a stripper?" Lotus whispered to Donovan.

"No."

"Oh." She muttered, her eyes running over the man's body. "Shame."

Lotus was blind to Elizabeth interest. It seemed the two women had become intrigued by the same man, and that was a recipe for disaster.

They watched as he began to walk down again, grabbing the back of one woman's neck and placing his lips to hers rather roughly. When he pulled away, he teasingly went to do the same to the man next to her, but the man turned his face. He slapped him, leading to him being shoved down to the ground.

He grabbed glass before looking up, his eyes meeting Lotus'. And in that moment, she felt like she was looking at her end, her heaven and her hell. Her heart had picked up its pace, so maybe it was all coincidence.

She smiled at him. A gentle friendly one, the one with undertones that were so innocently sinister that they became confusing.

The two could only stare at first, a few seconds of staring.

A few seconds was a small time frame. But I'm a few seconds so much could happen — decisions were made in split seconds.

A small shake of her head — a shake so small he was sure he was reaching for a reason why he didn't react so negatively — was enough to stop him.

It was her beauty. She was an Angel, and those were not to be ignored. At least, that's what he convinced himself. How else would one explain the beauty that was her.

He stood up, towering over the man, before continuing the walk.

Lotus had blocked out Elizabeth and Donovan, trying to get her mind to rest on just the show and not the person she had barely met eyes with.
