2 • Scary Showers

Taehyung awoke the next morning, and was still jumpy apparently, because he lurched back and fell out of bed again, like last night, when he saw Jungkook standing over him.

Jungkook began to cackle as he walked around the bed, helping Taehyung off the floor.

"You're stupid. You know that, right?" He asked.

Taehyung flushed, embarrassed, and hit Jungkook, "shut up."

Taehyung took in Jungkook's appearance.

His eyes were still droopy, and he looked like he was about to fall asleep.

"Did you sleep much last night?" He asked.

"No," Jungkook responded, "I had a nightmare, and then when I woke up I was too scared to fall asleep for a few hours after I saw-"

Jungkook then looked at Taehyung, but shook his head, "nevermind."

"No, what did you see!" Taehyung asked, remembering Jimin's texts.

"I saw a figure in the bathroom. It was so fucking tall. Right when I looked at it, it went back into the bathroom and out of view."

Taehyung shuttered. His bed was right next to the bathroom. What if the figure Jungkook saw was watching him sleep?

"Jimin told me this hotel is haunted," Taehyung muttered.

"Figures," Jungkook responded, before he was walking to the bathroom.

Taehyung ran in front of him and got in the bathroom just before he could, before slamming the door shut.

"Damnit, Taehyung!" Jungkook yelled, banging on the door, "open the fucking door! I was literally going to get in there!"

"No!" Taehyung yelled back, beginning to undress so he could get a quick shower in before he and the rest of his colleagues on this trip were supposed to head over to a company owned building across town, at ten. It was eight right now, but Taehyung wanted to take the time to look good.

They got ready while actively avoiding each other, and Jungkook left before Taehyung to get breakfast.

Taehyung got down a few minutes later, and headed over to where his boss and Jimin were conversing at a table.

There were still two open seats.

He sat down in one of them, without getting food, and started excitedly chatting to the two about what had occured in their room the night before.

Namjoon was on the edge of his seat, biting his nails, and Jimin was leaning in excitedly.

As Taehyung was in the middle of telling the two about Jungkook seeing the figure, the very man sat down in the last seat across from Taehyung, a plate of hotel breakfast in his hands.

Taehyung glared at him, and he ignored the tense looks Jimin and Namjoon shared.

"Really, Jungkook? You couldn't have chose to sit somewhere else?"

"Um, actually, smartass," Jungkook replied, a flare on his face, "I was sitting here before you decided to finally come down-"

"You were hogging the hair drier! I couldn't come down!"

"-But got up for a second to get breakfast." Jungkook finished explaining, choosing to ignore Taehyung's whines.

"Guys?" Namjoon said, smiling somewhat awkwardly between the two, "I know you don't get along well, but please, for the sake of this trip, try to? Remember?"

Taehyung sighed, "sorry, Namjoon hyung, I'll try harder."

Jungkook patted Namjoon's arm, "sorry, hyung."

Namjoon nodded, "well, let's eat quickly, we have to go soon."

The day was full of interacting with important business people, signing papers, and Jungkook and Taehyung trying to ignore each other.

There'd been a few incidents, like when Taehyung had "accidentally" sprayed water on Jungkook's fine suit in the bathroom.

And when Jungkook "accidentally" tripped Taehyung, causing him to fall in front of a few of the important people.

Which, ensued a heated argument in an empty hallway between meetings and an angry Namjoon telling them to sort out their childish quarrels elsewhere.

But, they were finally back at the hotel.

It was already late at night. They'd been out since 9 that morning, and it was now 11 that Jungkook was putting the key card in, shutting the door quickly behind him and smirking as he heard Taehyung try to keep the door open, fail, and then bang the door with his fist.

He was gathering his belongings for a shower when Taehyung got in, using his own key card, and stomped over to Jungkook.

"Why the fuck would you trip me in front of the people we're trying to sign a business deal with?" He yelled, blocking Jungkook off from getting in the bathroom, "that leaves a poor impression on the company's workers, which reflect the whole company. Who'd want to partnership with a company who has employees tripping?"

Jungkook only sneered at Taehyung, "well, I thought it was funny. And so did Mr. Seo. You need to chill out, Taehyung. Now get the fuck out of my way, I wanna shower and get to sleep."

"Oh, I'm sorry, does the baby want sleep?" Taehyung taunted, following Jungkook as he pushed past Taehyung, walking into the bathroom.

He slammed the door in his face, and Taehyung continued to taunt for a few moments, before he gave up with a huff, going back to his bed.

He layed down with a sigh, and suddenly found himself more tired than he thought he was.

He began to doze off as the muted sound of the shower spray filled the air like white noise.

Before he new it, he was pulled out of his sleepy haze when Jungkook threw the door open and stomped over to Taehyung, still dripping wet and holding a towel loosely around his waist.

"I'm so sick of you, Taehyung. Look, I'm sorry for tripping you, alright? But that doesn't fucking give you the right to come into the bathroom when I'm showering to take my clothes! Give them back."

Taehyung stared up at him, confused.

"I didn't take your clothes? Are you dumb?" He said, his voice groggy, "I've been dozing off the whole time you've been in the shower. And why the hell would I want to take your clothes, in the first place?"

Jungkook scoffed, "there's no point in lying, Taehyung. Cut the bullshit. Just hand them to me, you literally just have to reach over and grab them."

Taehyung tilted his head to the side, and turned his head to, initially, look at Jungkook's bed to see if his clothes were there.

He jolted, however, when he saw each article of Jungkook's clothing neatly folded and laid out beside him.

His shirt. His shorts. His boxers.

He stared at them for a few seconds, then slowly looked back up at Jungkook, confusion clear on his face.

"I didn't do that! I swear!" He said, starting to get up, "besides, I don't even have a key to the bathroom! I couldn't have gotten your clothes."

Jungkook must have taken notice of the pure confusion on Taehyung's face, because he sighed, and scrubbed a hand down his own face.

"Alright," he muttered, "whatever. You didn't do it. Then who did?"

"Um...the ghost?" Taehyung said, and then face palmed.

"The ghost, Taehyung?" Jungkook said, walking around the other side of Taehyung's bed, "really?"

He grabbed his shirt, and then Taehyung watched in horror as Jungkook's towel dropped.

He snapped his eyes up to Jungkook, who was smirking.

"Never seen a cock before, Taehyung?"

Taehyung blushed, and glared at Jungkook, "go to hell, Jungkook. Of course I have! I just didn't want to see yours!"

He huffed, and got out of bed, ignoring Jungkook who was starting to get dressed as he gathered his own things, and stomped into the bathroom.

He was unsettled by what had happened to Jungkook, but he didn't want to go to bed without a shower, so he trudged through and shut, and locked, the bathroom door.

He was in the middle of washing his body, the last step before he was going to get out, when he saw a shadow pass by in his peripheral, heard footsteps, just before he heard the light switch flick again, and the lights went out, plunging him in darkness.

The crack of light streaming into the bathroom under the crack in the door lit up the small room enough for Taehyung to see the figure standing by the door.

He screamed, and covered his face as he crouched down, scared out of his mind, cowering in the corner of the shower.

He knew he had locked the door, so there was definitely no way Jungkook had flipped the lights off.

Jungkook, having heard him scream, jumped out of bed and ran to the door, trying the handle but to no avail.

He knocked on it hard, "Taehyung! Open the door!"

He knocked a few more times, but Taehyung still didn't open it.

The shower was still on, and Jungkook was worried the boy wasn't responding because he was injured.

He looked around the room frantically, and began pulling open drawers.

Some of Taehyung's things were in them, but he found a key ring with a single key on it in a bottom drawer, the only thing in it.

He ran back to the bathroom door, and tried the key, sighing in relief when it opened.

He turned the lights on, and saw Taehyung huddled in the shower on the floor, covering his head.

"Are you hurt?" He asked, crouching next to him and turning the water off, silence ringing out for a moment.

"Taehyung, answer me, did you get hurt? What happened?"

Taehyung sniffled, and then removed his trembling arms from his face and looked around frantically, clinging to Jungkook's arms.

"Someone was in here!" He yelled, looking at Jungkook, "someone was in here, I saw them pass by and-and they turned the light off! I couldn't see anything, I thought they were gonna do something to me!"

Jungkook looked around the small bathroom.

There were no spaces someone could hide, and there'd been no one in there but himself when he'd showered just moments ago.

"There's no one in here, Taehyung. It's okay," he said, "come on, I'll help you up."

He helped Taehyung stand up on shaky legs, who was still looking around, clutching Jungkook's arms.

"Just get dressed in the room. We can shut the bathroom door for the night," Jungkook said.

Taehyung nodded mutely, and took his clothes from the counter, almost running out.

He was trying to put his shirt on his still soaking wet body when Jungkook came out holding a towel, and handed it to him.

Taehyung took it, and then blushed as he realized he was standing naked.

"Don't look at me," he muttered, embarrassed.

Jungkook walked to his bed, and turned away from Taehyung as he laid down, fiddling on his phone.

Taehyung dried and got dressed quickly, and disgarded his wet towel on the floor.

"How'd you open the door when it was locked?" He asked, hurrying to get into the safety of his bed.

"I searched the drawers and found a spare key," Jungkook said, turning over and pointing to the bathroom door.

Taehyung looked, and saw the key still dangling in the doorknob.

He nodded, and turned back to Jungkook, "we're sleeping with the lights on tonight."

Jungkook sighed, but didn't want to argue so late in the night, so he just rolled over without a word.

It took both of them a long time to find sleep.

Taehyung, because he was still scared out of his mind, trembling under the covers.

And Jungkook, because he wasn't used to sleeping in a room that was bright as day.
