The sounds of muffled voices, fax machines and stamping feet intruded my peaceful sleep yet again. I groaned in annoyance and buried my face into my pillow; hoping that everything would shut up for once. Seriously, this place was like a freaking beehive. Every person rushing around trying to get their job done with not a moment to waste.

Ughh, have you people no respect. There's someone trying to sleep here so can't you peasants just SHUT UP ALREADY.

I pulled the covers over my head, not that it helped but at least I tried. A small smile formed on my face, as I blocked out the outside world letting my breath even itself out. However, just as slumber was about to consume me someone let themselves into my room. Rude much.

The Unknown trespasser only sighed and made their way to, my bathroom???. Ignoring their actions, I focused on getting some shut eye; when said person came back and decided they wouldn't have it.

**SPLASH**

"ARGHH WHAT THE FUCK!!! I screeched, disgusted by the fact that this person has just ruined MY PRIZED POSSESSION (aka my bed and all its glory) with ice, cold water. And who even knows if it's clean or not, ewwwww.

"HEY! What. The. Hell, do you think your doing!" Shooting up from my ruined ground, I glared fiercely at the perpetrator.

After waking up from my half asleep state, I instantly regret everything, for I was in the presence of the devil himself.

First-class investigator: Kureo, Mado

Getting chills down my spine I take a step back and avoid eye contact to prevent looking at his unhealthy, bony face. However, all is futile when he drags me into a conversation.

"Good morning (l/n)-san, I do hope you've rested well because we have a lot of work ahead of us today" he croaked with a creepy grin on his face.

"Yes sir" I saluted him but went straight back to the bed and snuggled into the covers "in five more minutes" I smirked. I didn't even have to look up to know his patience was running thin with me. You see, this wouldn't have been the first time he's had to deal with my morning problem. In fact, you could say, I almost feel sorry for him. But in the end I don't really care, sleep is my top priority.

"Tsk' don't test me (Y/n)! You'll be up and ready in five minutes if not I'll call investigator Arima to talk some 'sense' into you again." Raising his voice slightly he continued to stare his watch.

"OK OK I'M UP, PLEASE DON'T CALL ARIMA!!"

After running around like the flash, I completed my morning routine and stood in front of Mado panting like a marathon had just finished, well more like a sprint.

"Hmmm, you've broken your record good job" Mado stated, clearly impressed.

Glaring at him slightly, he surprisingly returns with chuckles (which creeps the crap out of me) and ruffles my hair. This then leads us causing a racket throughout the CCG halls on the way to his laboratory.

⌛️⌛️Time skip to the lab⌛️⌛️

"Yo" I greeted everyone letting my presence be known, which was responded by many 'hellos' and 'good mornings'.

As we made our way to the all familiar room, that could almost be called home-just based on the endless hours spent in there- I started to tense. Mado who noticed this reassured me that everything would be fine but...

How can the Guinea pig sit still, knowing that it's bound to face with unknown terrors

Mado allowed me to enter first and closed the door, blocking any means of escaping but...I was used to watching freedom slipping from my grasp now. Like the many dreams, hopes and emotions were shut out; and the fear, grief and darkness were forced in. Whether I liked it or not...

" Now" Investigator Mado's voice echoed through the tiny yet spacious room.

The selected piece was secured

"So, previously we worked on the 'Rinkaku' section. As for today, we will be advancing to the 'bikaku' section." Mado recited, checking the past results on the records.

I inhaled and exhaled deeply, trying to at least mentally prepare myself for what was to come.

"Let us continue where we left off, shall we."

And the gate to the Guinea pigs cage was opened, to invite the unwelcome dangers of the outside and unknown to the Guinea pigs eyes.

Ok, I know this might've not been an interesting chapter and a bit confusing. But I hope the following chapters will help to answer any unanswered questions :).
