Chapter 31
~Ina~
"Are you going to be alright here on your own?" I was sitting on my bed in my room when Tom came into my room.
He said the he needed to do something in town and that I would be on my own for a few hours.
"Go Tom I'm going to be alright." I said looking down at my sketchbook.
He said okay before turning around.
"Wait Tom." He turn around looking back at me.
"Do you know if there is a cure for Alex?" For a sec he just stood there looking at me. I have been thinking for the past couple of days. If the Dawnseekers can do magic then they can turn him back right?
"Ina I have been looking for a cure ever since we got out of the asylum, but there isn't one." There have to be one.
There must be.
"But what if the Dawnseekers know one? You haven't talk to them right and if."
"Ina." Tom cut me off before I could talk further.
"There isn't. I already asked them, but they just don't know anything." I refuse to believe that.
"Tom just think about it. If they know so much about this world and all his secrets, then they have to know something." I push on hoping he would agree with me.
"Ina stop!" I jump a little when he raised his voice at me. He closed his eyes taking a deep breath before opening them. "There isn't."
I didn't answer and just nodded my head not wanting to make him more angry. Without saying anything else he turn around and walked to my door.
"It's like you don't even want to save him." He stopped at my door for a sec before walking out my room slamming the door behind him.
I let out a sigh looking down at my book. I had drawn myself and Tom. We were at the park when I was sixteen. It had been a hard week for us. We had to run again and we needed a break from everything. It was one of the best day we ever had. No ghost, not Blackhunters, just us.
I know Tom is up to something and he's not gonna tell me what it is. I hear the front door slam shut and I ran out my room. The wooden floor underneath my feet cracked while I ran down the stairs.
I grabbed my jacket and looked outside the window. I watch how Tom drove away before I ran out the door. He's going to town, so that's where I am going.
After a ten minute run I came into town. Okay I didn't think on how to find him. Great thinking Ina. I'm just going to walk around town. It isn't big so I have to find him. Let's just hope that I don't run into Ian again. I'm not in the mood to see him again.
Thirty minutes past by before I finally found him. I watch him as he walked into Drew's book store. I made sure he didn't see me before walking in after him. Is going to talk with Drew? I hide behind some bookshelves hoping he would see me. Tom looked around at some books until picking one up.
A cold hand grabbed my shoulder and I quickly turn around. My eyes met Drew and I knew he was going to tell Tom I was here. He put his finger to his mouth and walked away from me.
What was he doing?
"Tom."
Tom looked up at Drew and put the book away that he was holding.
"Drew did you find something?"
Find what?
"No, when my grandmother died my granddad throw everything away that had to do with here or her witchcraft. I couldn't find anything, sorry." What the hell was Tom planning on doing?
"Do you have any idea where I can't find help?"
I watch Drew shake his head.
"No I'm sorry. If I would know something I would tell you. I need help myself with all of this. I don't have someone who can learn all of this to me." He explained.
So Tom was looking for something that had to do with witchcraft. "It's okay. I'm gonna keep on looking. Thank you for trying." Drew nodded his head before Tom walked away.
I watch how he walked out the store before I came from behind the bookshelf. "Come on I need to show you something." I gave him a confuse look, but followed him.
We walked to the back of the store and came into a dark room. A weird feeling came to my stomach the moment I came into the room.
"This was my grandmother room. She would do all kinds of things here." Drew explained. My eyes scanned the room. There were a lot of old books, bottles and other things that I didn't know what they were.
"Your grandmother was a witch too?" I asked looking back at him.
I was a little shocked to see an old lady standing behind him. I have seen her before. The first time I was here she was here too. I guess that that is his grandmother.
"Yeah, she was pretty wise. She was a witch for the Dawnseekers and really respected by them." I nodded my head.
"She's here." I said giving him a small smile.
"Oh I know, she's always here." He said with a laugh.
The old lady smiled before walking towards me. "She told me to bring you here so that she can talk to you."
I watch as she stopped in front of me.
"You want to save your brother." I nodded my head.
"Your older brother have the same power as you why don't you work together with him to help you other brother?"
"I don't know. I don't even think he want to save him. He try in the pass, but now I don't know." I explained.
She put her lips on each other making a thin line. "You're born on October 31. That's pretty special for someone like you."
Yeah a lot of people have been saying that. "You can save him you know, but first you have to talk to him. His soul may be changed, but deep down he's still himself. You just have to find it."
She walked to a cabinet and open it. "Take that book. There is a ritual in it where you can call for him. If he comes you can talk to him, but do it before your birthday tomorrow. The mutati side is going to be weak then. That's what the Blackhunters were planning. They were planning on keeping him inside, so that you couldn't change him back."
I walked to the cabinet and took the with leather wrapped book.
"Ina you can do this." I turn around when I hear Drew's voice.
"I hope so." I whisper.
