9- Guilt-trip
Laff woke up, confused. His head has been aching for no reason, and he had been feeling weird ever since he met L4FF in his dream.
Laff got up subtly and faced the window in his room. After opening the curtains, he was met with a calming blue light. He suddenly had a strange idea to take off his mask.
He reached for his mask and took it off slowly. But what he saw left him petrified...
"No way..."
Laff couldn't believe what he was seeing. A fair amount of grey had reached his mask, causing him to panic.
How is this happening?
Is L4FF real? He is real, I need to stop thinking he isn't real.
No thought could calm him. Will he really turn into a terminator? Will he become the one that haunted him?
"I need to carry on with my day, see how everyone else is doing." Laff mumbled, as he quickly continued to get ready.
After about 10 minutes or so, he decided to visit Meme and his medbay. He wanted to see the full building as it was being accomplished.
*At Meme's medical centre*
Meme was doing well with business. He had around 2-5 customers every few days and although they were his friends, he was still happy that people came.
This time, it was Socks.
"Hey Meme!" Socks said
"Hello Socks, what's up?" Meme welcomed, as he opened the door and let Socks enter first. Socks immediately entered and glanced around the room.
"Just seeing how the medical centre's doing"
"It's doing pretty good, although Muffin keeps coming and asking for random tools..."
"Sounds like normal Muffin to me"
Socks and Meme both laughed and Meme noticed Socks new clothes.
"You are wearing something different! Instead of the space suit you have an Orange-red armour"
"Yeah, I was wondering if you were going to notice that. Anyway, why don't you join our team in the furry war?"
Meme looked at Socks strangely
"Really? Why?"
"I mean it's good to get a Doctor in our team, you know?"
"I don't think I want to join any team Socks. It may be a bit too dangerous"
"Since when did you care about danger?"
"Since..."
Laff had knocked on the doors of the medbay centre, startling both Meme and Socks.
"It's just me, Laff." Laff reassured.
With a sigh of relief, Meme opened the door and Laff entered.
"Hey mates! Nice armour Socks!" Laff complemented.
"Thank you Laff. Nice Mask" Socks pointed directly at the Grey on Laff's mask.
"Y-Yeah, Thank youse" Laff gulped, he wanted to forget about his mask, or even L4FF.
"So... Do you want to have a tour of the medbay Laff?" Meme asks as he gestured at the medbay itself.
Laff hadn't even noticed the medbay. Wide, white walls were around the room. At the entrance, there was a red cross symbolising that it was a medical centre. Inside, there were 4 cyan beds and a green intricate scanner. Right next to the scanner, there was a computer and a cupboard full of medical equipment.
"This looks very familiar..." Socks stated, as he walked towards the scanner.
"Is this medbay from among us?" Laff questioned, half-jokingly.
"Yes, yes it is." Meme sighed, Socks chuckled at his response.
"This looked great Meme! Although you weren't creative with the idea it's still nice." Socks acknowledged, Meme had given him a small 'hey' as a reply.
Laff toured around the medbay and Meme looked at him confused
"So Laff, what do you think of it...?" Meme asked.
"It's really nice! Although I do agree with Socks on the idea." Laff answered
Laff walked at the end of the room, where a large window was placed. After peering out of the window, he admired the view; large, sandy hills could be seen for miles. But one hill in particular caught his attention.
Just like all the other hills, it was filled with sand, but this hill in particular had a red and Orange carpet on it. Without hesitating, Laff suddenly was reminded on how memorable it is.
"Is that the wedding?" Laff thought aloud, grabbing both Meme and Socks' attention.
"What wedding?" Meme questioned, as he looked out of the window Laff was, confused.
"Y-Your wedding" Laff stuttered, he quickly turned to Meme, who was very confused and didn't understand.
"Meme? This Meme? Meme could never find anyone to marry!" Socks Joked
"Wow thanks Socks. But Laff is this a joke?" Meme replied, but the confusion didn't remove from his face. He stood still for a second trying to remember what Laff claimed to be 'His wedding'.
"You had a wife Meme. Her name was Wiktoria, but on the day of your marriage she was- sh- shot." Laff mumbled certainly. His voice was tearing, but both Meme and Socks knew something wrong with Laff.
"Are you okay Laff?" Socks worridly questioned
"I'm fine but the problem is... I killed her." The words gloomily echoed the building ominously. Both Socks and Meme faced each other in disbelief.
"Laff... I think you need rest, you're probably sleep deprived" Meme replied.
Silence had encased the room after that. Meme thought that Laff was joking, or he was staying up too late, either way it was going to end up badly.
"I... think I should go." Laff mumbled as he started to make his way to the door.
"Yeah, okay, bye Laff." Socks replied, after looking at Laff strangely for what seemed to be the 7th time.
Immediately, Laff left leaving Socks and Meme alone.
"That sure was weird..."
------------------------------------------------------------
Dino sternly walked out the Military base, the furry war had been very unexpected. Neither Woolfster or his team were attacking, so Dino decided to get more weapons. A few days ago, his team decided to get similar gear, with each of them getting a red and their own colour.
When was the last time I properly rested? Dino thought.
Its been a while, but I don't have time...
Dino paused and saw somebody approaching him, so he quickly took out his gun and waited until he saw the person's face.
Thankfully, it was Laff.
"Woah Dino mate, Calm down!" Laff Exclaimed, eyeing the gun carefully. Laff looked very tired, Dino assumed he wasn't sleeping at all.
"Whose side are you on?" Dino questioned, his hand tightly gripping the gun as he pointed it towards Laff. He knew that he could easily pull the trigger and instantly kill Laff, that was the plan if Laff was part of Woolfster's team.
"What do you mean?"
"The furry war. Are you part of Woolfster's team?"
"No..."
Dino lowered the gun slightly, but showed no reaction.
"Then whose team are you on?"
Laff looked confused for a second and seemed as though he had never heard of the 'Furry war'.
"The furry war Laff." Dino repeated
"If I'm being honest mate, I have no idea what you are talking about"
"What happened to your mask?"
Dino had just noticed Laff's mask. Laff nervously explained
"Just thinking about changing the colour mate, and the..."
Laff had trailed off and Dino looked at his surroundings. He didn't want to be wasting time. Yet here he was.
"Do you know what Laff? I'll show you around."
Laff had finally stopped being oblivious and agreed. After a few minutes of walking around the base, Dino finally explained the furry war.
"So thats the furry war..." Dino explained, a stern expression was planted on his face.
Laff stayed quiet the whole time, firstly, there is a terminator speaking to him and now there's a whole war going on. He sighed as a response.
"So you are saying that you and Woolfster have gone to war against each other to claim these wings? And so whoever doesn't get the wings is a furry?"
"Yeah, I know it sounds stupid but it's real."
"Who is on everyone's team?"
"Socks and Blaza is on my team. Wollfster has Tbh on his team, however we are suspecting that Muffin and Nadwe are on their team"
Laff paused for a second.
"Nadwe and Muffin? Two 14 year olds?" Laff questioned, still trying to process the whole situation whilst Dino nodded slowly.
"If I'm going to be honest, this whole thing is very pointless. Do you really have to go to war with each other?" Laff sighed
"Yes, we both hate each other. Now, whose side are you on?" Dino added
"I'm not picking sides Dino. I'm going to talk to Woolfster, have a good day" Laff replied, as he quickly trudged towards Woolfster's house.
---------------------------------------------------------
Woolfster and his team were working hard and soon, they were ready to discover the wings. Muffin and Tbh had gone to the plain grasslands not too far ahead to try to search for the wings- The sooner the better.
The clouds had gathered as the sun was nowhere to be seen. The sky had turned into a misty blue, and the air had a cool breeze. Woolfster was quite busy, as gathering endless supplies still wasn't enough. He knew deep down that he would win, its obvious, isn't it?
Woolf quickly stared at the paper in front of him; A list full of things he had to complete. So far recruitment and supply-gathering had been checked, but the rest wasn't finished. He gave a small sigh and he moved the paper away and looked out of the window.
Nadwe sat at the balcony of Woolfsters house. He was bored, and helping out more was the least that he could do. He took off his hat and admired it; black velvet covered his hat whilst a singular pink ribbon was wrapped around it.
He carried on thinking until he saw a figure approaching him, but quickly came to realise that it was none other than Laff.
Nadwe stood up and saw a more clearer view of Laff; He looked quite confused to see Nadwe. As soon as he was close to him he saw that something was different with Laff. His mask was half stone-grey. His hair was quite messy and he looked generally oblivious.
"Laff! Are you okay?" Nadwe asked, without hesitating.
Laff (Still trying to catch his breath) stood still for a moment but quickly stared at Nadwe for a while. After a moment or two of absolute silence, he quickly replied:
"Yeah mate... I'm good! How are youse? After the whole thing..." Laff mumbled the last part but Nadwe had still managed to hear it. Nadwe knew that there is something wrong with Laff but didn't mention it to him- he looked sleep-deprived already.
"Oh yeah... its been great Laff! I've been healing, and I'm helping on Woolf's team. I never really got the proper time to thank you so Thank you!"
"You're welcome, don't mention it" Laff had replied sternly. But something was awfully wrong; Nadwe's concerns kept lingering in his head.
"Hey Laff, whats up with your mask?" Nadwe asked, his eyes widening with curiosity. Laff stood still for a moment. Again and again everyone repeated the same question and it was getting quite frustrating.
"Just deciding to change up the colour a bit." Laff sighed, the same question kept repeating and he was trying to comprehend the same thing: why?
Deciding to talk to Woolfster, Laff quickly said goodbye to Nadwe. Without hesitation, he quickly bursted in Woolfster's door, almost making him jump.
"Laff! You kinda scared me there..." Woolfster stated in shock. Laff walked over to Woolfster.
"Yeah sorry mate, how are you?" Laff asked, trying to sound less like a mad-man and more sane. He leaned against the window whilst waiting for the repetitive answer everyone else gave.
Just as he predicted, Woolfster had said the exact same 'I'm great, how are you? What happened to your mask?' Speech. Although it was a bit disappointing hearing the same things Laff decided to carry on with the conversation.
"Great mate, just changing up the mask colour" Laff sounded quite bored. So instead of listening to Woolfster's, he just decided to explore Woolfster's house.
Woolfster's house had changed compared to the last time he saw it. He was greeted by a humid air and a gigantic room that was filled with different types of weapons. On one side of the room there were many wands and spellbooks, which seemed to ne a perfect match against Dino's guns and heavy artillery. On the other side of the room there were crystals that came in different colours.
Laff stared in amazement at his house and began to roam around whilst completely forgetting that Woolfster was watching him in confusion. After suddenly appearing back to reality, Laff stopped touring and spoke to Woolfster.
"Woolfster, this is great!" Laff complemented, as he started to further investigate the magnificent crystals. He reached his hand out to one, being slightly cautious incase something happens. As soon as he touched the crystal he felt a small amount of warmth.
"Thank you Laff, I do appreciate it, are you on Dino's team?" Woolfster asked, almost too casually.
"I'm on nobody's team. I'm neutral"
"Oh really? Or are you a Spy?"
Laff chuckled at his response, instead of staying perfectly normal, he felt a strange urge to argue with him.
"Me a Spy? You must be crazy mate. Last time I knew you, you were dead, so maybe just should stay that way" Laff angrily muttered, before exiting the room in fury.
Before Woolfster could say anything, Laff was gone. Deciding that it wasn't anything serious, Woolfster realised that he had more important issues to take care of and quickly started to make his way to Meme's medical centre.
---------------------------------------------------
Laff rushed home quickly. He bursted into the door and locked it. His hands touched the mirror he looked at.
This isn't right. I shouldn't be acting like this, I should be focusing on the war. But you... you won't let me.
Don't you see Laff? These people are useless, they are pathetic. You wanted to kill Woolfster back there so why didn't you?
Laff shivered at those thoughts. Is this what he is meant to be? A Mad-man, running around and killing his friends? Or are they even his friends?
You've got a choice Laff, make the right decision. Your friends are long gone...
He punched the mirror in pure rage, hearing the shatter as the mirror pieces scattered across the floor
"They shall die... retribution is upon them."
