Arthur was sitting on a table alone, eating some homemade scones while sipping some nice, hot, English breakfast tea.

He sighed. "You know, it isn't the same as Earl Grey, but it'll have to do."

"Talking to yourself again I see, ya' loon."

Arthur jumped in his seat, only to calm down a bit after seeing Alfred's face.

"Goodness gracious, Alfred. Has anyone ever taught you to not just simply sneak up on people like that?"

"You seriously need to get out and socialize more."

"Oh shut it, Alfred." Arthur rolled his eyes and took another sip of his tea. "What do you want?"

"I'll get right to the point- You're into dark magic and rituals and all that jazz, right? Can you tell me everything you know about the Midnight Man?"

Arthur suddenly spit out his tea in surprise.

"Damnit, Alfred, what the bloody hell?!"

"So you do know a thing or two about the dude?"

"HE is one who cannot be referred to simply as 'dude'. I may not know where you heard about HIM or what your intentions are regarding HIM, but whatever it may be, I HIGHLY suggest that you forg-"

"Yada, yada, blah, blah, I've heard this all before. Don't ya' realize that the more people talk about him like that, the more I wanna summon him?"

Arthur sighed at his ignorance and arrogance. "Alfred, as much as I hate you with every fiber of my very existence, I just do not have the heart to potentially get yourself killed by a force you can't even begin to comprehend."

Alfred wanted to argue, but it seemed that Arthur wouldn't have it anymore.

"Now leave," Arthur demanded. "the fact that I have to drink an English Breakfast instead of my usual Earl Grey is stressful enough. As if I need your presence to make it even worse."

"But-"

"Now, Alfred."

Alfred groaned angrily. "Whatever. I'll find some other way to learn more about him, one way or another." And with that, he left Arthur sitting there alone and left the cafeteria, leaving him to contemplate on what just happened.

//Later that evening...

"Are you sure that you don't wanna come, Al?"

"Nah, I'm good. Besides, soccer-"

"It's futból."

Alfred rolled his eyes. "Whatever. I'm not all that crazy for... futból."

"Now that wasn't so hard, was it, gringo?"

"Just f***in' leave already, Jesus Christ."

Matthew put his hands up in the air. "Ok, ok. Come on, Miguél. You heard the gringo."

And with that, they left.

//An hour later...

Alfred was on his bed, watching Netfl!x as he was trying to work on the essay for Mr. Vargas.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

'Huh. Mattie and El Burrito must be back already.' Alfred thought.

"Mattie, I know you brought the key with you. Unlock the door yourself, damnit." Alfred commanded. "I'm actually trying to do my work for once!"

Silence.

"... Mattie? Mig?"

A book suddenly slipped in through the mail slot on the door.

"What the f**k?!"

Alfred was confused and didn't know what to do.

Hesitantly, Alfred walked towards the mysterious book and picked it up.

"Damn it, what kind of book is this? It's so heavy!"

He turned on the lights and read the title of the book.

"The Midnight Man."

Alfred gasped. "But... how? Just... how?"

He looked up towards the door and gulped.

He took a deep breath then mustered enough courage to open the door.

"Uhh..."

The halls were empty.

"Ok, this is getting freaky...." Alfred whispered to himself and closed the door quickly and locked it.

He headed back towards his bed and began reading the book.
