Diego P.O.V

We went out of the cave and Carol was leading us. Then a pack of white sabers out of the woods.

The sabers looked like Shira. They had their eyes locked on me and the two cubs are like me. Which they went underneath me.

Shira looks happy to see her friends again. Shira hugged each one of them. It seems Carol is the closest to Shira when she was little.

I remain hostile who came close to me and the cubs. I could feel the danger and my two cubs.

Shira spoke to me, "Diego why are you hostile with them."

I responded with a deep voice, "You wouldn't understand."

Shira spoke to the cubs, "Come on let see your friends."

The cubs were underneath me and wouldn't move at all.

The cubs spoke, "Dnger."

The cubs were hissing at the sabers to stay away. I was willing to fight on the spot.

Shira spoke, "Don't worry they are friendly."

As Shira was about to get the cubs. I stopped her.

I spoke, "Shira don't."

Shira seems confused why I'm acting like I'm not willing for them walk away.

Shira spoke, "Why Diego?"

I responded, "Because we are different from them or you have forgotten?"

"Diego there is no more war. That from the past."

"Maybe there will be one."

Shira seems frustrated with me and started talking to Carol. As I was watching the other cubs were doing okay with the pack. I notice Carol is trying to win Shira's heart.

But I can't do anything because of fear of a another war. Shira was having a time with her pack. While I remain away from them with the two cubs.

I had to hunt our own food. I knew it getting worse they showing threats to my cubs.

Carol began to show affection for Shira but Shira always backs off from him.

Shira asked Carol, "Why are you showing me affection?"

Carol responded, "Because Diego isn't giving you. It seems reasonable."

"You know I'm his mate which you shouldn't do. I don't understand why Diego and the cubs would be hostile to you all."

Carol responded, "Well we were enemies once. I get it why. We are trying to be friendly to him but he wouldn't."

After hearing that I returned back to the cubs well protected. Carol was putting lies on Shira's hear.

After a while Shira came back to me.

Shira spoke, "Diego we need to talk."

I spoke, "Let me guess about being friends with your pack."

"Yeah but you have to let it go."

"I can't because the pack hates my kind."

Shira seems to upset that I wouldn't be able to be friends with her pack.

Shira spoke, "I hope you will."

Shira went to her cubs take care of them.

When the night came everyone was asleep including Shira. As I stayed awake.

Not long I heard voices from a distance. I decided to go out check.

I sneak to hear what they are up to. When I able to see who was it. It was Carol and few other sabers.

Carol spoke, "Tonight you guys will kill Diego in his sleep and the cubs. Then throw  their bodies into the lakes. Pretend that Diego left into the woods asking for help. Got that?"

"Yes alpha we got it what about Shira and the other cubs?"

"Well I intend to make her my mate. Become a father to them and have my own legacy."

I was there hearing their plan. They going to kill me and the cubs. I have to run away. How I'll be able to tell Shira?

Shira is sleeping within the pack. I have no other choice but run away. I quickly returned back to the cubs.

I took Cathy and Skyler with me. I started to head to the mountains in the cold night. I wouldn't let my family get killed.

I spoke, "I'm sorry Shira have to leave you. I hope we find each other one day. I'll keep our family safe."

I kept walking away from the area. Knowing I can't return. I promise I'll protect them with my life.

I wonder what else is going to happen.
