Diego P.O.V

I was in my cave resting after hunting. Shira was next to me Shira was watching our cubs play. Two of them looked like Shira and and the other two like me.

Shira's cubs are named Olivia, and Andy. The ones are like me are named Cathy and Skyler.

Shira was smiling that we were happy. Our cubs are happy even though they looked different from each other. They loved each other as siblings.

I could feel deep down telling me to kill them. I always hold myself back. Cause I care about my family.

Shira spoke, "Hey Diego."

"What is it Shira?"

"I'm happy with you and our cubs."

"Same. I wouldn't ask more."

Then our four cubs came at us running joyfully.

They spoke, "Datta, mama."

Shira spoke, "What is it my little ones?"

"Come... play"

"Okay."

They spoke, "Datta?"

Shira responded, "Daddy needs to rest for a while."

They began to pout that I wouldn't play with them.

I spoke as I was stretching, "Okay daddy will play with you."

They began to mew happily together.

I spoke, "Okay what you want to play kids?"

Skyler responded, "Hid and sek."

"Okay."

"Datta and mama seker."

"Okay opening our eyes. In 1...2...3...4...5"

When we opened our eyes. Our cubs are gone. Shira began to sniff on the ground her mom instincts kicked in.

Shira easily found them. Which I was standing there doing nothing.

Olivia spoke, "aw mama fond us. Mama cheter."

Shira spoke, "I didn't cheat. I found you."

After a while of playing. The cubs got tired. Shira started to hear their stomach growling.

Shira spoke, "Diego go out hunting. The cubs are hungry."

I spoke, "Okay."

I left the cave and Shira stayed with the cubs in the cave. I started searching for prey. Which luckily I found one in short time.

It took a while to hunt it down. Then it to snow hard it was a blizzard. I quickly grabbed the prey and started going back before I get lost.

I was able to get back in time before I got stuck. I dropped down the prey.

Shira spoke, "You are covered with snow Diego."

"Yeah I brought food."

Shira took the prey to the kids. Shira began to tear in small pieces and soft meat.

I layed down on the ground gladly I was able to feed my family. The snow continues for a while. It was pure white.

The cubs were close to Shira and Shira is close to me. My body was facing the entrance of the cave feeling the cold wind. I was covering Shira's body giving her warmth and Shira to the cubs.

I had to endure the coldness but it was worth it seeing my family healthy and happy.

The next morning I woke up hearing a lot of purring. My back was covered with snow again. My family is warm not freezing to death.

I didn't want my family suffer the way I did. I had to endure cold, hunger, and despair.

Then Shira woke seeing herself warm and her cubs too. She looked up to me covered with snow.

Shira lick my face and spoke, "Thank you Diego."

"Is because I care about you."

Then I got up and shook off the snow. Then our cubs began to wake up. Nothing can stop us from being a happy family or I thought so.
