you're not alone
After Nadia had stopped crying on the way to the cabin, she forced a smile onto her face just in case her friends were in there — which they were.
"Hey, guys," she greeted, trying not to sound in any way but it didn't really work.
"Hey. Are you okay?" Maddox asked, genuinely seeming concerned for her since she noticed her makeup had gotten all smudgy and her expression was downcast.
"I think I just broke up with EJ," she revealed, making all of their eyes widen in shock. "I don't wanna talk about it."
"I guess tonight did end with a bang," Ashlyn commented, her mouth parted in surprise.
"Well, as long as it sends soon. I mean, who knows? Maybe I can wake up as someone else," Kourtney shook her head.
Ashlyn slowly stood up from where she sat next to Kourtney. "Hey, Kourt, can I...borrow your prayer?" she asked. Kourtney looked up at her before she nodded.
Ashlyn:
You're not alone
Ashlyn then looked over at Gina, and nodded at her.
Gina and Ashlyn:
You're not alone
Maddox and Nadia glanced at one another before they decided to join in.
Gina, Ashlyn, Maddox, and Nadia:
You're not alone
You're not alone
Kourtney:
Can't believe I'm here right now
I can see myself lift off the ground
Kourtney stood up from the bed determinedly.
I know how cliche this sounds
But I can hear a voice say through the crowd
Gina, Ashlyn, Maddox, and Nadia:
You're not alone
Kourtney:
My fear, they keep on rising
Gina, Ashlyn, Maddox, and Nadia:
You're not alone
Kourtney;
But I won't stop trying
Kourtney made her way towards the door, walking outside followed by the other girls.
Here I come
Loud as a lion
I'll keep on fighting
I've just begun
See the horizon
I'll just keep on climbing
I've shown that I've grown through the changes
They then made it back to the climbing wall where Kourtney put on the helmet.
Had to prove to myself imma make it
Here I come
I won't stop till the war is won
Nadia frowned lightly, knowing that she and EJ had lost the Great War when she thought they had made it out.
They kept on singing as Maddox hooked Kourtney up to the rope. She stepped up to the wall and looking up, releasing a scared sigh.
She then placed her hand on one of the grips and began to climb, not even looking down. The other girls watched from the ground with proud smiles on their faces.
She then made it to the top and all the girls cheered for her, pulling each other towards one another. "Hey, Gadget? You know you're one of us now, right?" Ashlyn told the girl.
Maddox let out a happy chuckle, smiling to herself since she had finally made some friends after all these years of people hating her.

After surprising Ricky on his birthday with Big Red, Nadia departed from the group to have some time to herself. She hadn't spoken to EJ or Dakota ever since the came prom, and she didn't even want to.
So, she decided to just grab a book she brought and sit outside to enjoy the fresh air. "Hey, uh, can I interrupt for, like, two seconds? I'm sorry," Val spoke up, causing Nadia to look up from her book.
"Uh, yeah, sure," Nadia said, bookmarking the page before she stood up from her seat. "What's up?" she asked awkwardly, not really knowing where she stood with the blonde.
"I'm starting to make the rounds and saying some goodbyes, because I gotta get back to campus tomorrow, so I'm leaving right after the show," Val told her.
"Back to college already?" Nadia asked, starting to get nervous since she hasn't made a decision about whether or not she wanted to go to Duke.
"Yeah," Val nodded before she saw the worried look on the girl's face. "I wouldn't worry that much, Nadia. Just do what you want to do. I wouldn't let anyone make the decision for you."
Nadia started to nod. "Yeah. I'll...try."
Val gave her a sad smile. "Look, I know we haven't really gotten on well this summer, but I wanted to let you know that you're a great girl. And any guy would be lucky to have you," she began which made Nadia swallow hard. "Nothing was happening between EJ and I, I promise you. He just gets crazy with things like that and can't really see what's right under his nose."
"Which I knew, so I should have already seen this coming," Nadia sighed.
"Don't blame yourself. It isn't your fault," Val told her before she stepped forward and gave Nadia a hug. Nadia paused for a second before she hugged the girl back, glad that they seemed to finally be getting along even though it was a little too late.
"I'm sorry for being such a bitch to you. I tend to get...competitive over things. It seems to be the same way about boys," Nadia apologized once Val pulled away, feeling bad for being that type of girl.
"It's okay. I understood that," Val assured her.
"Right. Psych major. You were probably psychoanalyzing me the whole time," Nadia realized, chuckled awkwardly.
"You and everybody else," Val confirmed. "It's a habit at this point." Nadia laughed even more before the blonde cleared her throat. "Well, it was nice talking with you."
"Yeah. Bye, Val."
"Bye."
Later that night, everyone was getting ready for the show. Since Nadia wasn't in the actual musical, she just got some makeup up to look nice just in case Channing wanted to zoom up on her face or something like that.
She basically avoided EJ and Dakota at all costs until Dakota decided to walk over to her once the ensemble was done preparing.
"Hey, Nadia. Can we talk?" he tried to ask.
"No. I told you I never wanted to speak to you ever again," she shut him down, turning around to try to her away from him.
"No, please, wa—"
"You heard her, Dakota," Marcus stepped in since Nadia had told him what had happened. Since he was never really good at sticking up for her before this, since he usually couldn't stick up for himself, he wanted to finally help her.
Dakota looked in between the twins before signing and walking off in defeat. "Thank you, Marcus," Nadia thanked, giving her brother a grateful grin.
"No problem," Marcus nodded at her.
"Greetings, theater children!" Channing spoke as he walked into the dressing room. "Listen up. You see this camera? There are another 10 of them planted throughout the theater. It all comes down to tonight. Okay! Big new announcement. We will be live-streaming tonight's Frozen performance on Disney Plus in order to drum up interest in our documentary."
Carlos shrieked in shock. "Oh!" Channing pointed at him. "Save the scream for on stage, snowman. When you find out your carrot's been replaced by a stick of dynamite."
Every gasped. "No," Carlos shook his head.
"Dude, what are you talking about?" Ricky questioned.
"I may throw a few things at you guys, last minute. It's fun stuff to shake up the show," Channing revealed.
"You mean, different than how we rehearsed it?" Gina asked.
"You guys were so great at that last rehearsal, remember? We need that, but more. Okay? So just change some dialogue, slap each other. I know Nadia's good at that," he pointed at her, which made her furrow her brows in confusion. He knows about that? she thought worriedly. "Pull some wigs off. It's fun stuff to amp up the livestream, right?"
EJ cleared his throat. "We can do that," he spoke up, earning surprised looks from everyone, Nadia included. "No, we will do that."
Channing placed a fist to his chest. "Excellent. Okay. Have fun, all right? At each other's expenses." Channing let out a laugh even though no one else joined in. "If you aren't trending in Brazil at midnight, you haven't done your jobs. Okay? Yay!" Channing then left the room, leaving them to question EJ all at once.
"Elton! Even I think we shouldn't pull each other's wigs off," Carlos pointed out.
"Exactly!" Marcus and Gina agreed with him.
"Dude, we're not doing this!" Ricky exclaimed.
"I can't believe this," Nadia muttered under her breath, thinking that maybe EJ would change after she broke up with him but she had been wrong.
"Settle down!" EJ shouted, making them all stop talking. "You guys, I was acting, okay? To get that jerk off our backs," he told them, which made Nadia rethink what she had just thought.
"You sure?" Ricky queried.
"Channing may know what makes a good TV show, but we're theater kids. And we're gonna do tonight our way. Final decision," EJ preached determinedly.
Everyone began nod at that, releasing sighs of relief. They then dispersed to continue getting ready, but Nadia decided to go up to EJ even though she wanted to avoid him. "Hey. Um, I know things are weird, but if we aren't trending in Brazil, won't your dad get all..." she trailed off.
"That's tomorrow's problem," he responded, which made her look at him with wide eyes. "You'll do great, Miss Co-Director," he then said before walking off.
Nadia watched him walk away, unsure of the decision that she had made last night.
