Chapter 5:: Agony

Author's POV:

You looked at the clock in front of you, at 6 am. You didn't sleep a wink last night, you just cried. You hated yourself so much, you hated your stubborn self so much.
Only if you listened to him and said some lines like— "I'm okay, I think they left me in a forest. Please come and pick me up!" and not screaming like a goat, it would've helped.

You sighed. He didn't do a single thing to you as you imagined. Was that all about the use? So simple? Did you exaggerate it to the point it ended in a slap and countless insults and also— your bruised wrists?

Whatever it was, he was still a disgusting person. He kidnapped you and wanted to use you for his own good. Selfish... inhumane... He made you starve with just grass and water. He was inhumane, he was indeed a motherfu- no, not that- a b*stard. Yeah, sounded a little more decent.

Hours passed by and you were tired now. Your eyes felt heavy but your stomach was crying loudly. You only had a leaf last night. He was so merciless. Patient? Kind? Jo must've been on drugs... he was maybe driven by magic.

In no way was Kim Taehyung patient or merciful. He was the worst of all.

You were seriously feeling so tired right now. Your eyes were feeling heavy. You got out of the room to see a quiet house. A maid was cleaning the house and came towards you asking, "What would you like?"
"A glass of water, please.." You said. She nodded and fetched some water. You immediately drank it and went inside the room.
"It's so torturous... I'll die in a few days out of starvation, 3 months?!" You sighed and looked down. Your eyes were teary again. Your face was puffy from all that crying already and now, another heartache.

You held your stomach which was aching and shut your eyes, praying to God to get some relief.

—Time skip

You sighed and sat at the table, grass again. But you were so hungry. You somehow drank an entire bowl of the bitter soup. You were hungry, you had no choice. It somehow soothed your tummy but wasn't enough. The taste was disgusting.

You craved some cookies, your favourite choco chip cookies or... maybe some pizza. Those sounded like luxuries right now. You were in such an expensive mansion, starving on some grass and water for nearly 2 days now. 2 glasses of water again.

You sat inside the room and looked out of the window. It was so depressing. Living on grass and water, kidnapped in a mansion. The same thoughts occurred to you, again and again, you hated it. Jo came inside the room and served a glass of orange juice saying, "Well... this might be better than plain water."
"Juice?" You asked, eyeing him. He nodded and placed it.
"Mr Kim will come in an hour, pretty early today though... so you shouldn't act too stubborn around him."
"I don't care. What worse could he do? The grass is the worst already, would he feed me worms next?" You asked, rolling your eyes. Jo sighed and left.

You rested your head on the window and mumbled, "Home... is really a blessing. This place has no feeling of home at all."

—On the other hand

Taehyung sighed and kept his watch on the table, looking at himself in the mirror. He remembered last night's events.
"What a ridiculous woman... touch her? As if I'd want to." He scoffed and took off his tie, placing it on the counter.

He suddenly heard his phone ringing. Looking at the caller ID, he smirked slightly, picking up.
"Hey.. Lee." He said. He heard a scoff from the other side and smirked wider.
"Kim. How dare you? You tried to abduct my daughter but failed... and now her? She's like my own daughter. Leave her alone."
"Well... why would I? She seems to be of good use, the only mean which will make you give me all the information about the gold mine."
"You greedy b*stard."
"I was wondering where she got that attitude from, maybe genes isn't all?" Taehyung's remark made the other one scoff.

"Don't even dare to do anything to her. I'll... tell you the information. Give me a few weeks."
"Well... her safety is up to you. Your actions determine her safety."
"You... will repent."
"As if."

Taehyung scoffed and said, "Make sure to know that your actions determine the security of her life."

In a moment, he hung up. Rolling his eyes, he took a black shirt and jeans before entering the bathroom.

—Lunchtime

How did all your hours pass in this house? Either by staring outside the window or arguing with people... and crying. The only normal thing you did was eat— that too grass and water, 3 times a day.

You sighed and looked at the food, your face dreaded out. You were tired of the grass now. You sighed and drank water when a familiar figure entered the dining area, sitting across you. You eyed him before scoffing, looking away.

"Nice menu.." He said, his eyebrows raised. You rolled your eyes and looked away. He looked at your plate and then at the table. All the food was left untouched, just a piece of half-eaten avocado. You were struggling to eat the grass now. He guessed you hated salad items and he was right. He smirked slightly and said, "Bring my food, then?"

You gasped as you saw a beef steak in front of him. He smirked and said, "Well... seems good?"
He was doing this on purpose— he was a devil, a complete devil. You scoffed and looked at your plate before sighing. You ate the half avocado but frowned hearing him speak, "It's well seasoned... only a few people deserve to eat this... people who know how to act."

The audacity of this motherf*cker. Yes, he was one. You weren't even going to show manners anymore, he deserved it. He deserved every bit of your curse.

You sat there, sipping your water as he ate in a strange manner. He was showing off his lunch, pretending to be unbothered that a starving person was in front of him. You glared at him for a moment saying, "Could you eat in silence?"
"Well, it's too good." He said, chewing the food, trying to control his smirk. You sighed and got up saying, "I'm done."
"After eating a piece of avocado?" He said. You side-glanced at him once before leaving.

You sat on the bed saying, "B*stard. Idiot. Dumbass. Son of a b*tch. A complete dog. That jerk. That bullshit. He's such a motherf*cker!"
You groaned. You were mad, so mad. After starving for 3 days, you saw him devouring that beef steak so well, showing it off to you. You hated it, you hated him.

You really wanted that. You were craving some good and REAL food as well, not grass. You hated him so much for this.
"No, don't cry! Don't cry. It's okay-" You were trying to calm yourself down but groaned, gripping the bed sheets. Fat angry tears left your eyes as you glared at the bedsheets.
"He's so... disgusting." You swallowed hard, your anger filling up your chest. Your grip on the bedsheets tightened as you sat there, crying. Your anger soon turned into frustration which turned into pain.

He was too much, he crossed the line. He crossed every line that existed.

—In the dining room

"Sir... that was harsh," Jo spoke in a low voice. Taehyung sighed and said, "She brings it on herself. Her stubbornness deserves all that."
"You know it's not her fault too, sir. She cries in her room all day."
"She has to know that her stubbornness won't give her anything. She has to learn how to survive. Such a fathead..."

"Go arrange some good food... but don't give it to her until she is obedient. Rebelling will only put her in danger but her fathead won't understand."

Jo sighed as Taehyung stared at the closed bedroom door where you were in.

—In the bedroom

You tiredly sighed, laying on the bed, staring at the ceiling. You closed your eyes mumbling, "Gosh... dying would be better than this hellhole." You were feeling so exhausted, you felt your body giving up.
"Am I dying...?" You asked yourself, feeling everything around you roaming around. You closed your eyes muttering, "I lived... a nice life then."

And in a few moments, everything went blank. You lost consciousness.

—A few hours later

You felt yourself waking up slowly. You opened your eyes but squeezed them immediately due to an unwelcoming bright light. Gosh, did you really die and become alive again?
Your head was aching already and you felt very tired. You opened your eyes, adjusting to the light. Looking around, you frowned but your face straightened seeing a familiar face.

It was him, staring down at you. You were lying on the bed, canola in your hand and him beside you, sitting there quietly.
"You... w-why am I here? What's thi-" You were moving your hands but he held your wrist, this time, softly.
"Stop moving." His stern voice made a shiver run down your spine as you stared at him, with ceased brows.

"You fainted, thanks to your stubbornness." He said with sarcasm. You scoffed weakly and said, "No, thanks to you making me starve with that grass." Your voice came out low and weak. You felt weak right now. You hated this, this feeling of appearing weak— in front of him.
"You can't live off the saline for long. You need to eat."
"That grass? Never." You scoffed. He sighed and said, "Apologize... to me. And I'll arrange good food for you."

"Apologize? To you? For what?" You asked. He took in a sharp breath and said, "For slapping me and assuming ridiculous shit." Right, those were unnecessary but that was the reason he made you starve for 2 days? He made you struggle like that for that?
"You deserved it... either way, you still made me struggle with that grass. You petty b*stard." Your voice came out so low and weak, yet it held so much rage and disgust. He shook his head and said, "You're the one who started it."

"No." You spoke. He stared at you, his frown reappearing with those icy cold eyes.
"You started it... you kidnapped me, though I wasn't the target.. it was all for your own use. You kidnapped me, made me sleep on that cold floor in that rusty windowless room... you gave me a room the next morning but what? You took... y-your revenge by serving that grass 3 times a day. You're the one who made me starve. You don't deserve my apology, you don't deserve anything."

He just stared at you quietly before looking at the corner of your eyes where tears were falling down nonstop. You glared at him with your teary eyes. He didn't speak, he just stared at you and said, "You'll be safe here, as long as you stop trying to rebel and escape. 3 months, it is. I promise you won't be tortured at all, not in any way. But if you continue with your stubbornness and anger me, I can't guarantee a single thing."
"Why 3 months?!" You asked, your breathing getting quicker.
"It's unfair to me.." You cried out. You couldn't hold it in anymore. Just 2 days here was so torturous and tiring, you were worn out. You wanted to escape, the agony was arising in you every moment. But his next words hurt you, they pierced your heart in some way, they really did.

"You shouldn't have saved your best friend, to begin with. You're the one who tried to become a great friend and got yourself in this."
