Chapter 3:: Possibilities

Author's POV:

Salad, salad, vegetables, soup, salad again— breakfast? This was what he called breakfast?

You just stared in front of you with a blank look and snorted, looking at the bald man who said, "Well... this is the breakfast, I guess."
"Bald man, do I look like a goat to you?"
You asked, trying your best not to scream seeing the unappetizing food on the table. He pressed his lips, glancing at the food once before looking at you.
"It's Jo... umm, and, I'm also not pretty sure why this is the breakfast. We usually don't have so much grass but..." He gulped, trying his best not to anger you.

You rolled your eyes and said, "He did this intentionally, didn't he? To take his revenge?"

"Then let him. I will eat this, unlike what he thinks." You sounded adamant, so strong— so stubborn. But you hated every bit of the table you were seeing right now. Just the first morning and you were already so disgusted by everything, you hated it here.

You sat on the chair and took a piece of leaf from the plate in front of you. You tried to eat it but it was bad— very bad. It tasted horrible! You shut your eyes, you wanted to puke. You were feeling so frustrated. After sleeping on that cold floor in that dress, eating grass? You were starving right now, starving so hard. You were feeling tired as well, even after sleeping.

The last time you ate was at 4 pm. And now it was 9 am of the next day.
You somehow managed to get a few bites of the salad and a piece of bread, dry bread.

You drank 2 glasses of water and walked inside the room, sitting down. You stared at your reflection in the mirror, the tee and trousers you were wearing were loose.
"Ugh, he bought such oversized stuff, that douche." You scoffed.

"What am I going to do here? I want to go home." You said, looking down. A sudden rush of sadness awakened in you. That guy was probably out of home— thankfully.
You brought this all upon yourself. But, at least your best friend didn't have to sleep on the cold floor and eat grass in the morning after starving for almost an entire day. You were regretting your decisions but at the same time, relief rushed in you. At least she was okay now.

Were they working on finding you? Would the police come? If you somehow tried to call the police, you could escape! Right, you'd successfully escape.

You thought about it for a while and came to a conclusion that— you needed to somehow contact the police or at least Tzuyu and inform them about your whereabouts. But you didn't even know where you were right now. You needed to know where you were.

You got up and searched for that bald man. As much as you hated him, you figured that he was probably a dumb guy whom you could befool.
Walking here and there, near the living room, you noticed him standing there while talking on the phone. Standing behind him quietly, you were about to call him but stopped as you heard him speak.

"Yes, sir. I'll make sure to make your arrangements tonight. You can gain a lot from her." The guy said. Your eyes widened as you stared at his bald head from the back. You frowned and intensely stared at him who continued, "Yes, sir. She's in her bedroom. She ate a little bit."
"Okay, sir."

He hung up and turned around just to flinch. You were staring at him, your face dreaded out.
'Gain a lot? Tonight?' Was he going to- No, no! Never. He couldn't even dare to touch you without your permission. Just the thought creeped the shit out of you.

"What are you doing here? Hey, how much did you hear?" He asked, a sense of panic evident in his voice. You just shook your head and said, "I didn't... I just came here to ask you something."

You sounded a little unsure, kind of— hesitant? After overhearing that creepy shit, how wouldn't you be?

"Yes?" He asked. You just blinked a few times before looking at him and said, "Where are we?"
"In Mr Kim's mansion."

You were this close to smacking him, this close.

"No, I mean... what's the location of this place?"
"Oh.. that's confidential."
"Look, I'm just asking. How many days am I going to be here?!"
"I can't say those... only Mr Kim knows."
"What's with this Mr Kim... that douche should get beaten up.."

The guy named Jo just stared at you, a little scared and gulped.
"You shouldn't badmouth him... he'll be really angry if he hears."
"As if I care, he's such a chicken. And you- why are you so scared of him? Just cause he stares like he's going to eat you up? Doesn't matter."

You rolled your eyes. The bald guy just sighed and said, "Well... if you have to ask anything serious, please consider asking Mr Kim. Everything goes according to his rules... I can show you around the eligible areas of the mansion where you can go. You should actually be thankful he's still letting you stay in a room, I suggest you not anger him."

You just stared at him before scoffing.
"Fine, I don't want to know anything." You stomped out of that place, leaving the bald guy standing there dumbfounded. You entered the bedroom and plopped on the bed, groaning.
"He's of no use!"

After a minute of frustration— you realized— you overhead Jo talking to Taehyung.

'Yes, sir. I'll make sure to make your arrangements tonight. You can gain a lot from her.'

Tonight. Leave escaping here, was tonight safe for you in any way? You were wondering if what you heard was right. You slapped him, insulted him— would he really leave you alone? He was a mafia, not some ordinary kidnapper. More like a perverted gangster.

What if he really tried to take some dirty revenge on you? You did watch some mafia-related movies, mafias were disgusting and inhumane. He also seemed just like them, with that dirty smirk. You were confused and anxious and scared at the same time. You needed to save yourself.

You quickly took out the pocket knife which you hid under the bed as soon as you entered the bedroom. Defence.

You needed to save yourself from whatever had possibilities of happening. Maybe it wasn't as complicated and scary. Maybe you were overthinking but you watched too many thriller movies to trust that guy. No, never. Not after you hit your own feet with a hammer.

Hours passed by, lunchtime was over. What was for lunch, you might've asked? Well, again- vegetable soup.

You were disgusted. You didn't eat this time, you were feeling nauseous. You only drank 2 more glasses of water. You were hungry, so hungry. You looked at the time, 6:30 pm.

"I want to go home... this place feels so unsafe." You gulped, looking down. Your eyes were brimming with tears. Being in this place felt so scary and unsafe. You felt like you were in danger, all of the time. You were scared, so scared. Everyone around you felt like strangers, that bald guy who just followed you around when you exited the bedroom was so dumb and idiotic yet he was not trustworthy at all. The maids did their own work and you didn't feel nice to them. The cook barely even did anything other than staying in the kitchen.

Not like you were interested in the people or something but— being so alone in this mansion being kidnapped, not knowing where you were or how long you were going to be here, anxious thoughts about what was about to happen. It wasn't funny at all, as much as you acted strong and played it cool, all your stubbornness was melting right now.

Right now, staring outside the dark window in this closed room. Knowing well, outside, it was filled with unfamiliar and unsafe people, gangsters who carried guns. And there was no way to escape right now. You couldn't run away, it was the truth. There were so many bulky men guarding the doors inside the house, outside the house. You saw them through the window.

If you were at your home, right now, you'd be happily giggling with your best friend and her husband, teasing them and eating yummy food. But instead, here you were, starving and tired. But you couldn't become weak, you had to save yourself, unsure of all the events upcoming tonight, you had to somehow defend yourself— from the possibilities.

You felt a wet drop falling on your hand. You were crying. You were so scared, you couldn't help yourself. You shook your head and wiped your tears aggressively before breathing deeply.
"I'll make sure that guy gets a lesson tonight if he tries a thing." You scoffed, angrily.

You were trying to calm yourself down but your heart dropped to your stomach when the sound of the door opening was heard. It was him...
