Chapter 15:: Broken

Author's POV:

"I told you not to get drunk." He spoke. You shook your head and mumbled, "Drinking away pain.."
"What pain?"
His voice didn't sound annoyed or irritated. It was normal, a normal question.
"The pain you caused... by kidnapping me." You spoke. You still didn't look at him. He was right behind you, gripping the glass which you gripped first.

You felt the glass being detached from your hands as it drifted away making you groan a little. A moment passed by as you lay down, feeling drained.
"You're wasted." The same voice spoke from behind.
"Because of you." You retorted, scoffing slightly. He didn't speak a word but you could sense his stare on you. You wanted to sleep. You closed your eyes, snuggling in your arms. You felt him keep the glass on the other corner of the table. A moment passed by as you were almost asleep, 80% asleep. The slight awakeness in you. And you felt an unknown warmth wash over your body as you fell asleep, deeper.

It was a cloth on top of you which provided you with warmth in this cold venue. A coat. His coat—which he put on you.

You heard something coming from behind you. But you were so drowsy and tired, so sleepy that it all came muffled. You were sure of one fact, it was his voice. That was all.

—Next morning

You felt the bright sun rays falling on your face, earning a deep groan from you. Ouch— your head was throbbing.
You slowly opened your eyes, getting up lazily. Your eyes were hurting as you covered them with your palms from the scorching sunlight. Gosh— it almost blinded you.

A frown appeared on your face hearing a meow coming from beside you. It was Azure.
"Morning.." You murmured in a raspy, pained voice. Your head was throbbing in pain. You wanted to scream and die. Gosh.

A few moments in silence until you realized you had drunk 5 glasses of wine last night and got hella drunk. You even had a 5-minute conversation with Taehyung with only 15 words at most. Oh... and then you fell asleep.
"I possibly couldn't do anything weird.." You mumbled, shaking your head. But as you heard Azure meow, a feeling of anxiety rushed in you. That 'meow' sounded more like— 'You did a lot of things you can't even imagine.'
A warning... was it?

You quickly jumped out of your bed in panic. No way, why couldn't you remember a thing?

You wanted to throw up. Gosh, you were feeling nauseous now.

30 minutes in the bathroom and when you came out, you saw Azure sitting there, staring at the bathroom door.
You were in a complete sense right now but your head was throbbing. You groaned and sat down, gulping down a glass of water. But a frown appeared on your face as you heard a knock on the door. Opening the door, you saw the staff entering with a food tray. They placed the food on the table near the couches in the room and said, "This was ordered especially for you."

You noticed how there were some of your usual orders for breakfast along with warm honey water and hangover medicine.
"Who sent this?" You asked, confused.
"Room no 707." He said, leaving politely.

You stood there for a moment before looking at the food. It looked good. But before anything, you quickly gulped down the medicine after having a few bites of the food. Right, now it felt better. Your head was still aching but it was better than before.

"Azure... did I do something yesterday?" You asked, confused. You were gulping down your food as she looked at you, nodding.
"Huh? I can't remember... what did I do?"
"Meow.. meow meow!"
She said. You sighed and said, "Alright... let's get my answers in a more understandable and humane way."
"So.. did I do something crazy?"
You asked. She meowed.
"I did."

You gulped. What did you do? You had no idea.

With an anxious heart, you finished eating and just sat in your room trying to get completely 'not' understandable answers from Azure or just wasting time with Netflix. It was 2 pm right now, you woke up 4 hours ago. No one came to your room other than the room service this morning.
"Good no one's bothering." You smirked slightly and looked down. Your head was still paining a little, way better than before though.

Another hour passed by... and one more. And one more.

It was 5 pm right now. You were watching a movie and the girl suddenly lashed out at the guy drunkenly saying, "I f*cking hate you! Moron! You're the best of all worst men out there and the worst of all the best men out there!"

Wait a minute.

Your body straightened up as a deep frown appeared on your face. The hatred in their eyes, the drunken girl, the cold guy. You definitely saw this somewhere. Your eyes widened as flashbacks kicked in. Shit, these flashbacks were from last night...

—Flashback

Taehyung sighed and put you in the backseat. Jo, who was in the driver's seat spoke, "Sir, are you sure she won't break her head? I think she moves a lot... She's been pretty hard to carry here."
"I'll sit here."
He said and sat beside you, making sure you both were on two corners of the car. Your head rested on the backseat as you were sleeping. He was focusing on his phone.

"Yes, I know. The gold mine is just a few doors away from me. Once Lee discloses the location, we can go there and get everything."
"We have kidnapped Lee's family member... he should be telling us the location soon."
"Yeah... only Lee knows the exact location. His father was the one who smuggled all the gold mine in there."
"But sir, what if Mr Kim gets to know about this plan?"
"No, my father shouldn't know about this. He will never sit back, he'll try his best to snatch the gold from Lee and use it for his own gain. What I'm doing is, in no way, related to the mafia business... so we need to keep this a secret."

You frowned, hearing a few voices. You couldn't hear them but they ruined your already half-sleep. You opened your eyes and looked beside you with a frown. You saw how the conversation stopped as soon as the guy beside you laid his eyes on you.
His gaze changed into a cold and quiet one. His dark brown eyes stayed steady as he noticed the slight quiver in your lips.
"You..." You pointed at him with your sleepy eyes. He raised a brow at you, earning a bitter chuckle from you.
"Right... I'm kidnapped. I thought I was at home."

Your voice came out drowsy and raspy. You heard Jo sighing and rested your head on the backseat.
"I miss my home... can we go there, please?"
"You're still drunk. Sleep."
You heard the same cold voice making a scoff bubble up in your throat. It was dying to get out and it did.
"I miss home..." You sighed and looked at the guy beside you. His raven hair was messily covering his forehead, the hairstyle was gone.

"Bad gel... it messed up." You pointed at him as he slightly touched his forehead realizing what you were saying. Shaking his head, he looked away.
"Hey... am I dreaming?" You asked again. You couldn't stop talking.
"You are," Jo said in a pleading tone as you chuckled bitterly shaking your head.
"I'm not, right? I wish I was... I miss food from home... and Tzuyu's nagging... and my parents... and Uncle Lee... and the caretaker Ann..."
"Caretaker Ann?"
Jo asked. Taehyung's head raised a little, his ears perking up to hear you but he pretended not to notice.

"Yes... she took care of me and Tzuyu all the time. You know... when I graduated middle school, I still couldn't eat myself properly. I was clumsy and dumb. So, she fed me and taught me how to eat on my own." You chuckled. But it wasn't bitter this time. It sounded pleasant and happy. As the memories were rushing back, you couldn't help but speak some more.
"Oh! I miss my mom the most. She was the only one who knew how to cook... my favourite kimchi fried rice. Her recipe is my favourite. But it's been so long since I've had that... I miss those the most. I always do... when I'm happy, when I'm sad and when I'm drunk."

Your voice was slow, clumsy, raspy and not very clear. But no one spoke a word, even Azure was quietly sitting on the passenger's seat.
"But being kidnapped is sad... I miss everything more. And I don't have friends and family." You sighed. You sounded so hopeless and sad. Unlike the tough and stubborn Y/N, everyone else knew you to be, you sounded broken. Jo gulped and looked at you from the window before focusing back on the road. Taehyung was staring at his black phone screen.

"I hate you." You said, looking at Taehyung who looked back at you. His eyes seemed calm. The anger that his eyes always carried wasn't there anymore.
"I wish I'd at least not hate you all... for the time I'm here." You said, smiling a little. It was a sad smile. It was hurtful.

You could've sworn you saw his eyes turning into something else... something like pity. But it was just for a second until he blinked it away, looking down.
"Why is no one talking?" You asked, sulking. You were clearly drunk and trash-talking but everyone listened and felt you.
"Sleep. Don't talk so much." You heard the cold voice again. You smiled sadly and said, "Oh... I'm not dreaming then."
"You are in a bad dream. So sleep."
The voice spoke again. Somehow those words felt nice, it was just a bad dream, it'd pass, right?

You wanted to talk more but you felt something warm on your head. A hand. A big one.

And your mouth which had opened to talk, closed. You were now resting as the hand which pressed against your head slowly got up. It felt soothing, even if just for a moment, you forgot about all possibilities about the hand. It was the warmth which shut you up. This a silent message for you to rest now, to stop and feel better.

And without realizing it, you fell asleep.

—End of flashback

You choked on your own saliva. Shit, you did all those. You exposed your own grief to people you barely trusted. Your kidnappers. Did you expose yourself to him? The broken self of yours... you really just-
"Shit." You gasped out as Azure meowed. She sounded sympathetic but you were completely freaking out. You were panicking and about to go all crazy until you heard a knock on the door.

It couldn't be from service. It already came twice. Then it definitely was someone else. Maybe... him.
