A S T R I D

After what happened, Mr. Pierce has been trying to prove to me how indispensable I am. It's been day two and I've already forgiven him yesterday because when I thought about it, he had every right to believe Jennifer and her friend. Even if he did screw her or if her reputation at the company wasn't the best. Her work ethic was good and I am still new. So, I didn't hold it against him.

Blaire knew what I was doing and she was enjoying every second of watching her cousin stress about trying not to get me to quit.

He, of course, didn't know that I was milking it. It felt good. I felt like the teacher's pet. Not to mention, this gave me a chance to know all the departments inside and out. Yesterday, I helped the Production Department. I never did a business course in college, so I was a little lost in some areas but it wasn't hard to catch up. I made a note to study up on it, just in case I had any ideas to pitch.

Today, he assigned me to the Research and Development Department. It may be a few hours but I loved it here. It was fun with all of us brainstorming together to come up with a new project. We even found a way to make it fun. Combining a bunch of stuff that seemed entertaining to the world then laughed and trashed the idea.

Knowing we were going nowhere with it, we looked at other projects to see if they needed updates. Only a few did. We wanted to invest somewhere in Vermont but we put the idea in the 'to do later' list. With the investigation going on looking for the girls, we didn't want to make more problems for the police.

I sat at my desk, going through a few files and checking old projects. While I wrote down the names of those where the marketing strategies needed improvement, a knock was heard on my cubicle. I looked up and wasn't surprised to see Mr. Pierce standing there.

"Yes, sir?" I asked, bringing my attention back to work.

"I was just wondering how things are going?" he asked, tentatively. I almost laughed at his effort of tiptoeing around me. It was cute.

I slide the list over to him, pointing to the paper, "These need renovating. They're not making as much money as they used to. Employees are quitting because their salary is decreasing."

He hummed and nodded his head. "I'll take a look at this and we can discuss ways with them to figure out how to bring the numbers back up."

I nodded and continued typing away on my computer. I noticed that he was still standing there so I glanced up at him. He was looking overhead at the other employees in their cubicles. I stopped working immediately and gave him my full attention.

"Is there anything I can help you with, Mr. Pierce?" I asked in a professional manner.

"It came to my attention that you haven't eaten," he pointed out. I almost told him it wasn't lunch break yet but when I saw the time, my jaw dropped.

It was 2:30 pm.

Right on cue, my stomach grumbled. It was so exhilarating doing something different than my regular responsibilities that I lost track of time. It may have been a bad choice to push my work aside to focus on those of R&D but I can regret it another day.

"Let's go. We're getting something to eat," he said, taking my hand in his and pulling me from around my desk. I quickly grabbed my bag and followed behind.

Controlling as always.

Liam drove us to the diner we went to when he hired me. I ordered a Tofu Pad Thai with lemonade but Mr. Pierce didn't order anything because he already ate, apparently. It was nice that he took me here to make sure I ate. This is a shocking move for someone who seemed emotionally detached. We sat in silence as we waited for my order.

"How are the departments?" he asked, which made me laugh aloud. He looked at me confused, making me laugh harder.

"That's not what you really want to know, Mr. Pierce. The answer is no. I'm not thinking of quitting any time soon." His chest falls, his eyes depicting slight relief.

"In fact, I'm quite over the Jennifer situation." His eyes widened at my confession.

"Why didn't you tell me?" he asked, folding his arms over his chest making his biceps bulge. I tear my eyes away, reminding myself of the conversation.

"Because I was enjoying getting a feel of what the workload was like in each department. The Production Department is a bit confusing but only because I never took Business in college or did well in it in high school. The R&D Department is exciting. They are a fun group," I explained.

My order finally came and my mouth watered at the sight of it.

"Even so, Astrid, you really are an asset to this company and you helping and getting involved in the other departments proves that. None of my previous Personal Assistants did that," he said and I twirled the noodle around the fork and shoved it in my mouth.

Because they were too busy trying to get you to fuck them, I thought to myself.

We continued eating and I couldn't help but notice the many eyes from young and older women eyeing Mr. Pierce. It was quite funny how they would bat their eyes and twirl their hair to try and get his attention. But somehow a sense of satisfaction waved over me knowing that he was staring at me and not them.

I paused to swallow the food in my mouth, almost finished with my meal. To avoid his intense stare. I looked out the window and at the people walking by. I saw his hand move in my peripheral vision and reach for my chin, moving it in his direction. I watched as his thumb swiped the sauce at the corner of my mouth and instead of wiping it into a napkin, he brought it to his mouth and licked it off.

HE BROUGHT IT TO HIS MOUTH AND LICKED IT OFF.

That shouldn't be attractive but it is and this is where I knew I needed to see a therapist. Goosebumps rose on my arms and the room started to get hot.

"You might want to close that mouth unless you want me to stuff it full again," he said in a low and raspy voice.

I wasn't even aware that my jaw had fallen to the floor but I quickly closed it as I got flashbacks of me sucking his dick in his office. I started to feel my pussy pool and clenched my legs together.

This man was seriously messing with my head.
