Chapter 55

Whistling a soft tune to myself, I walk down the sidewalk with Angel by my side. The little Samoyed strutting beside me as I walk down the street, heading back home after spending half an hour taking my little dog for a walk around the area toward the park before playing a bit of fetch with her for a small while. My feet gently tap against the pavement of the sidewalk as Angel and I cross the road and begin heading down the street that Keigo and I live down. Legs slowly begin to cramp up slightly (since I've been practically housebound for the past few weeks), trying to get used to the long walks again.

Keigo and I have slowly begun to get back to normal now that our jobs begin chasing after us on the horizon. The pair of us beginning to get back into a routine and waking up earlier than usual instead of staying in bed until we feel like it. Recently, I've been hounded by my previous agency ever since I handed my three week notice in. I've been told that it's going to be a 'bad decision' and that 'I'm never going to be successful if I change agencies' yet I didn't really care about what they had to say. They're just being bitter because they've lost me. That Keigo is no longer being a model for their agency because he refuses to have another makeup artist that isn't me (plus he knew that the other artists would try and get into his pants). Which wouldn't look good if anything happened. So I knew I needed to leave.

Besides... It's my life. It's my career and I'm becoming known for my talents! Which is amazing!

Then, on the other hand, Keigo has been hounded by the Commission and other heroes about my kidnapping. Apparently, according to Endeavor, they've uncovered something about the gang that kidnapped me and they need Keigo to give them more information. That's all I knew about the situation; that's all Keigo will tell me at the moment. For all I know, they could be affiliated with the League of Villains considering Dabi was doing their dirty work. So, while I've been at home looking after Angel and cleaning the house, Keigo has been at the agency sorting out paperwork. Going back to his hero duties despite his wings not entirely recovered yet (they feathers are there but they're like baby feathers at the moment).

As Angel and I reach the front porch, I grab the front door keys to unlock the door. Obediently, Angel sits by the door with her tail wagging happily. Her bright blue eyes shimmering with utter happiness as I unlock the door and allow her to walk in before I shut the door behind me. With the door locked behind me and the latch on too, I kneel down to take off her harness and kiss her forehead when I've finished. A faint smile on my lips as Angel immediately scurries to the kitchen to have a drink while I place Angel's leash and harness into the little wicker basket that Keigo and I have reserved for Angel's walking gear.

Our house began to feel more and more like a home since we've been staying at home more and more. We arranged the living room properly and painted the walls, the kitchens all fitted and done and so is the downstairs bathroom. Our bedroom is also finished (we did that first) and we've also sorted out a spare room... yet we've reserved one (just in case) for when (hopefully) Keigo and I finally decide we're ready for a baby. Currently, it's a storage room. However, we have been planning what to do with it when we have the time. Even Angel had her own little area that is just hers.

Pushing to my feet, I run my fingers through my hair to work the knots out of it while walking into the kitchen. I fill the kettle up with cold water, smiling to myself as I notice the collage of pictures of both Keigo and I when I turn the kettle on and the water starts to boil. A bark leaves Angel's snout as she looks up at me, waiting for me to give her a treat for such a good walk (to which I happily oblige) before pouring hot water into my teacup. The teabag inside making the water turn into a brown colour before lightening up as I add milk and sugar to my tea.

With Angel curled up in her little mini dog bed, I walk into the living room and slide down onto the couch. As the soft cushion envelopes around my limbs, I release a relaxed sigh and sip at my tea before narrowing my eyes at the small little note sitting on the coffee table. A faint giggle leaving my lips as I notice a small cluster of rose petals bordering it in shape of a heart. Shaking my head, knowing it's probably Keigo playing a game, I pick up the small envelope and open it up. My heart swelling with joy as I read the scruffy handwriting on the piece of paper.

Hey Baby Bird,

I have something amazing planned for tonight, go upstairs in our bedroom. There's a beautiful dress with your name on it, put that on and get ready for six o'clock. I promise you'll love it! Trust me! I love you!
Xxx

Keigo

Smiling to myself, I set down the envelope back onto the coffee table before going to head to my bedroom, my eyes widening when I notice the many rose petals scattering on the floor. A faint giggle leaves my lips as I follow the rose petals up the staircase and into the bedroom where the rose petals follow through and scatter across the bed. On the bed, laying on the plush bedspread, is a beautiful red dress with a v - neck collar that ends just above my knees. Taking a deep breath, I shimmy out of my jogging bottoms and sweatshirt before sliding into the dress and checking my reflection in the mirror.

Man I look good!

Smirking toward my reflection, winking at it with a grin, I clear my throat and grab my hair tools. After spraying my hair with the heat defence spray, I begin to straighten my hair with my hair straighteners before twisting it around to give it a little curl at the end of the strand. Being careful not to burn myself, I continue to straighten my hair and curl it at the end all over my hair before smiling at my reflection as my appearance starts coming together.

With my hair done and my outfit done, all that's left to do is my makeup. This is the easy part. Unlike most, it doesn't take me forever and a day to do my makeup because I do it for a living! A full face of makeup doesn't take me more than fifteen minutes nowadays (sure it's not as fast as five minutes but I still have to make it look decent!). My heart hammers happily in my chest as I finish my makeup and blow my reflection a kiss before I stand up when I hear the front door open.

Immediately, I head out of the bedroom and toward the stairs where Keigo is already stood dressed for his surprise date. The winged hero is clad in a crisp black suit with a red tie wrapped around his neck. His yellows irises lighting up with love as he watches me head down the stairs toward him before wrapping my arms around his neck to pull him close for a quick kiss. Our eyes meet as we kiss before pulling away and smiling toward one another.

"You look breathtaking," Keigo mumbles toward me, keeping his hands on my waist while I gently play with his shaggy blonde hair like it's no mans business, "Beautiful as always, my dear,"

"You look so handsome," I compliment, kissing his cheek. The male immediately allows the comment to go straight to his head as a grin spreads across his lips, "So what's all this for? Why the surprise date?"

"All in good time, my love," Keigo replies, giving nothing away as he checks his watch and nods to himself, "Now, shall we be off? We have a dinner reservation in half an hour at this nice place in Fukuoka,"

"Really?" I ask incredulously as I grab my black clutch bag and slip into a pair of black heels, "Keigo, are you feeling okay? Our dates are usually takeouts and movie nights,"

"I wanted to spoil you tonight," Keigo admits as we leave the house and lock the door before heading into his luxurious car, "To celebrate your new job opportunity and for managing to pull ourselves out of that rut we were stuck in after the kidnapping,"

"Wow... Kei, I don't really know what to say," I hum, sliding into the car and taking a deep breath as he switches on the ignition and the car rumbles to life, "Thank you,"

"Anything for you, baby," he hums, kissing my knuckles before pulling out of the driveway and beginning to drive us toward the restaurant where we'll be having our dinner, "I love you so much,"

Smiling softly, I relax against the front seat of the car as Keigo drives. Soft music, obviously some sort of music that he chose specifically for this date, gently wafts around the small space of the car. The engine softly rumbling every now and then as he switches gears as we race down the motorway. Excitement bubbles away in my stomach as I gently lace my hand with his over the gearstick, Keigo squeezing my hand every now and then as he focuses his eyes on the road. A grin plasters itself across Keigo's lips as he turns into the parking lot of the restaurant that we're going to.

And when I tell you that my jaw dropped. It definitely did. My jaw hit the floor with how prestigious and expensive looking this restaurant was! It felt a crime that my ass was even in the parking lot!

As we leave the car and shut the doors, Keigo takes my arm with his before kissing my temple. Locking the car, we head toward the double doors of the restaurant and slowly walk in, gouging every single detail of this very luxurious restaurant that I had no idea existed. The whole scenery, the decorations and the furniture fitted so perfectly. It's almost like those fancy restaurants you see in the movies that the main character takes his love interest for a date night or when there's an unexpected moment.

It's so beautiful...

As we walk in, it's almost like it's a different world to the one outside. In the corner, there's classical musicians playing music to suit the ambience of the restaurant. Waiters and waitresses clad in white dress shirts, black ties and black dress pants holding silver platters. A faint smile plays on my lips as I notice the layout. Polished Oakwood tables scatter across the room with freshly ironed tablecloths draped over them. It's so fancy. Fancier than most other restaurants we've been to. Then again, we've mainly been to fast food restaurants for convenience.

After being showed our table to, we take our seats and sigh in relief. Both Keigo and I immediately grab the menus and have a look at the prestigious foods being presented to us. I couldn't help but salivate at the thought of all of them. Lobster. Salmon. Steak. Ravioli. Pork. Veal. Not a single chicken dish in sight. Is this heaven? All I could think of is how amazing this night is going to be.

"We're gonna go for the whole shebang," Keigo tells me as he looks through his menu before staring toward me, "Starters, mains and desserts. We're gonna leave with food babies at the end of this and I'm not ashamed of it,"

"Sounds good to me," I hum, looking toward the starters and groan to myself at the thought of garlic mushrooms or bruschetta or even their soup, "Gosh... it all looks so good,"

"I might go with the bruschetta," Keigo tells me honestly before humming and groaning when his eyes find something else, "But those garlic mushrooms look so good too... and the grilled scallops... this is so hard..."

"Mm... the prawn dumplings look so good," I hum, biting my lip as I go back and forward between so many things, "How about, you and I order like two each and then we share?"

"That sounds like a good idea," Keigo hums, smiling to himself as the waiter walks over with a little notepad to hand, "Good evening,"

"Good evening, Mr. Hawks," The waiter hums, sending him a small smile as my boyfriend rubs the back of his neck at the recognition with a faint blush on his cheeks (fame really has gone to his head), "What can I start you with today? Ma'am?"

"I will have the potstickers," I tell him softly, smiling gently toward the waiter as he quickly writes it down on his notepad, "And I'll have a glass of champagne as well,"

"Glass of champagne," he reiterates as he quickly scribbles it down before looking toward Keigo who grins, "And for you sir?"

"I'll have the grilled scallops," Keigo tells the waiter who nods and writes it down, "And I'll have a glass of sparkling water please,"

"Of course, I'll come back to order your mains soon," The waiter announces before smiling and turning on his heel to walk away.

Once he's gone, Keigo takes his hand into mine and kisses my knuckles while I smile happily toward him. His lips brush against my knuckles, chasing butterflies in my stomach as he looks toward me and smirks against the skin of my hand. It felt like Keigo and I were the only people in the world right now. That no one else was around and we were the only ones left... it felt amazing. A giggle leaves my lips as he pulls away and winks.

"What made you choose here?" I ask, thanking the waiter for our drinks as he sets them down in front of us and leaves a bottle of champagne on ice beside our table for us to divulge as and when we want before he walks away to grab our food, "Usually it's fast food?"

"Well, I wanted to treat you and Endeavor suggested this place," Keigo explains with a smile as he sips on his water, the little lemon floating through the carbonated drink (I'm assuming it's flavoured as normal sparkling tastes like tv static),  "This is where he and his wife had a lot of his meals, he's also recommended the ravioli. Apparently, it's supposed to be very exquisite,"

"Big words for such a small mind," I tease, snorting as Keigo gawks toward me with a small pout, "I love you Kei,"

"I love you more, (Y/n)," Keigo coos, smiling as the waiter returns with our food. On sight, my stomach rumbles as the food is placed in front of me and my mouth water, "Oh, this looks so good,"

"Enjoy," The waiter hums softly, sending us a smile as we thank him, "I'll be back soon to take your main,"

As the waiter leaves, we stare toward our meals and immediately grin at one another. Both our plates full of food that will be easily devoured within seconds. On Keigo's plate sits two grilled scallops sitting on a bed of lettuce with a small bowl full of sauce to dip them into. On my own plate, sits four little pan fried dumplings with chopsticks on the side and a dipping sauce. God this looks so good!

"Dig in, baby," Keigo coos, grabbing his chopsticks while I sip at my champagne and grab my own, "Bon appetite,"

Immediately, I dig into my meal happily. I grab the small dumpling with my chopsticks and gently dip it into the dipping sauce. Once coated, I put it whole into my mouth and chew down on it before humming in happiness. A dozen flavours burst in my mouth and attack my tastebuds happily as I chew and swallow it happily before grabbing another one to eat. Keigo groans to himself as he eats his scallops and sits back happily as he finishes up his meal. Once I've finished my own, I set my chopsticks down and smile.

That was so delicious!

With our starters finished, we grab our menus again and look at the mains. My eyes immediately hone in on the pasta dishes before I bite my lip and stare toward the steak dinner and the lobster. They all look so good. There's lobster ravioli, there's beef ragu, a carbonara that looks heavenly... usually I would go for a pasta dish as Keigo and I don't often have pasta for dinner. It's not that we don't like it, I love pasta... man I need to make more pasta dishes.

As if on cue, our waiter arrives to take our empty plates away before pulling out his note pad. His eyes looking toward us while Keigo bites his lip and hums to himself with a small nod. The blonde finally making up his decision as he looks toward me for confirmation, once I nod back, I send him a smile and look toward the waiter who smiles back.

"Are you ready to order your main?" He asks, watching as I set down my menu and nod to myself, "Sir?"

"Alright, I will have the lobster Thermidor," Keigo informs the waiter, smiling as the waiter nods and writes it down on his notepad before looking toward me, "And you, honey?"

"Mmm... I will have... the ravioli," I tell the waiter happily before looking toward Keigo who winks my way and nods toward the waiter who nods back, "Thank you,"

As the waiter walks off, Keigo sips at his drink and smiles toward me as I lean back against the chair with a deep breath. My chest warms up happily as Keigo winks my way and takes his hands into his. A faint giggle echoes from the back of my throat as he clears his throat and smiles toward me. His phone goes off, a simple text message notification, which he immediately tends me making me smile gently as he rubs the back of his neck and checks his phone. My brow arches as soon as he does a mini fist bump to himself before turning his attention toward me. He freezes slightly before chuckling nervously.

"I won my bet," Keigo tells me nonchalantly making me giggle and shake my head as he grins and sticks his tongue out at me, "Rumi and I had a bet, I've just won,"

"What was the bet?" I ask, smiling as the waiter arrives with our food and sets it down in front of us before leaving us to it after we refill our drinks, "Please tell me it isn't anything stupid,"

"Uh... it's not stupid," Keigo says matter of faculty making me roll my eyes playfully and set a serviette in my lap, "I just bet Rumi that she couldn't have a hundred arrests by August, and I was right,"

"How many did she get?" I ask as I grab the salt and pepper and gently season the ravioli before grabbing my utensils to begin eating the spinach and ricotta ravioli, "Was she close?"

"She got 96," Keigo explains making me whistle slightly and wince at how close Rumi actually was for their bet while I look toward his lobster Thermidor, "Well, are we ready for your main, my beautiful baby?"

Nodding happily, I look toward our meals before licking my lips happily at the sight of our food. Keigo's plate looks absolutely delicious. His lobster is cooked to perfection with butter oozing out of the meat with a delicious salad to the side made of radishes, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and a dash of hummus. My stomach grumbles happily as I look toward my own meal. Ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta drizzled with olive oil and truffles. God, this date just keeps getting better and better and better.

Once again, Keigo and I dig into our meals happily. Keigo humming happily as he bites into his lobster, eyes shimmering with utter happiness as he swallows the perfectly cooked lobster while I swallow down the pasta parcels full of cheese and spinach. My heart swelling happily as I look toward him before stabbing one of the raviolis with my fork and offer it toward my boyfriend who smiles and takes a bite. His eyes lighting up.

"That is good, man... that's just so tasty," Keigo hums to himself, smiling toward me as he offers me some lobster to which I happily swallow down and smile, "This was a good idea wasn't it? Good call?"

"It is," I tell him, sipping at my champagne gently as he continues to eat the rest of his meal happily. My stomach happily takes the meal, swallowing each every morsel of food while I clear my throat and smile, "Kei, this is so amazing... you have no idea how great this is,"

"Well, you're my girlfriend, and my girlfriend only has the best," Keigo tells me, finishing his meal before leaning back and calling the waiter toward us. The waiter immediately walks over and begins to collect our plates, "Our dessert, if you please,"

"Kei, we haven't even ordered our —"

"I have it covered, don't worry," Keigo reassures me as the waiter takes our empty plates and heads toward the kitchen with them while my boyfriend grins, "I pre - ordered our desserts,"

"How come?" I ask arching a brow toward Keigo who chuckles to himself and bites his lip as I cross my arms over my chest and watch as he fumbles, "Did Endeavor tell you to?"

"Yes and no," Keigo hums, smiling to himself as our waiter returns with two plates full of dessert making me lick my lips happily, "I just wanted to surprise you with dessert because I know how much you love your sweet treats. Plus, this is special as I had it custom made just for you,"

"Custom made?" I ask, arching a brow before looking down at the plate of dessert before giggling to myself at the beautiful display in front of me, "Oh wow..."

Once I look at my plate, my heart squeezes happily before I look toward Keigo in utter shock. On my plate, are two mini cheesecakes with the words 'I love you' on one and 'My One and Only' piped onto the top layer of the cheesecakes. A giggle leaves my lips as I look toward Keigo who grins and winks my way before allowing me to dig into one of the cheesecakes while he takes the other one and eats it himself. Both of us humming in delight at how delicious the cheesecake was.

This has got to be the best date ever.

After we finish the cheesecake, Keigo pays for the meal and refuses to even allow me to look at the bill. The blonde grinning to himself as he wraps his arms around me as we head toward the car with fits of giggles. Both of us almost drunk on love. Sharing soft and quick kisses as we journey toward the car. Keigo peppers kisses all over the back of my neck as we slowly waddle toward the car. The blonde gently squeezes my ass playfully before sliding into the car and switching on the ignition. Once we're both securely fastened in the car, Keigo drives us home with a small hum.

"Tonight was amazing, Keigo," I hum, smiling to myself, looking toward him as he speeds down the highway with a grin, "Thank you so much... I love you so so much,"

"I love you so much more," Keigo hums, kissing my hand gently before pulling into our driveway with a small hum. A grin on his lips as he pulls himself out the car and opens my car door for me, "This way my love,"

Giggling happily, I lean into Keigo and kiss his cheek as we head toward the front door and unlock it. Immediately, Keigo opens the front door and leads me inside to the living room. As soon as I'm in the room, I freeze and gasp at the sight before me. My eyes widening as I take a step back and cover my mouth in utter shock. Shaking my head, I look toward Keigo who smiles gently and kisses my cheek before allowing me to look around the living room.

Someone's come in and changed it all... it's... oh my god...

It's beautiful...

Scattered across the living room, on the couch and even on the coffee table is rose petals. My eyes look toward the tv where there is a video of a fireplace. Soft romantic music plays in the background to set the mood. Hanging across the skirting boards of the ceiling are red, pink and white fairy lights that twinkle every so often. There are balloons in the corner shaped like hearts. My heart swells a million times bigger as I look around the living room before turning toward Keigo who smiles and takes my hands into his own.

"What do you think?" He asks softly, rubbing his thumb over the back of my hands while I flush bright red and smile toward him, "You love it?"

"It's... god... it's so beautiful, Kei," I tell him, smiling toward him as I admire the many candles that are lit up around the living room, a blush crawling itself across my cheeks as I sniffle to myself, "I don't know what to say..."

"Well, this is all for you," Keigo says gently, kissing my forehead before clearing his throat and taking a deep breath, "And I have one more thing for you,"

Confused, I look toward Keigo before gasping softly as he slowly gets down on one knee. A faint grin on his lips as he looks up at me while reaching a hand into his suit pocket. Seconds later, he pulls out a small velvet box and opens it up to reveal a beautiful engagement ring. My eyes begin to water as he clears his throat and takes another deep breath to prepare himself for what he's about to do.

"(Y/n), you and I didn't start off on the right foot... I was completely out of line with you and I nearly made myself lose the one person that I loved so much," Keigo hums, looking toward me as I cover my mouth and sniffle as tears run down my cheeks (slowly beginning to ruin my makeup), "Then, you gave me a second chance... that chance really opened my eyes to see how beautiful and how gorgeous you really are. You're such an amazing person and you're the only person for me. You're kind, you're sweet and you're so funny. I want to spend the rest of my life with you,"

"O — oh my god..." I hum, sniffling as I grab a tissue from the coffee table and dab at my eyes while I clear my throat and sniffle, "Kei..."

"So, (Y/n) (M/n) (L/n), would you do me the honour," Keigo begins, looking up into my eyes and smiling as I break down into happy tears as he pushes the ring closer to me, "Will you marry me?"

"Yes! Yes I will!" I hum, tackling him into the floor and pulling him tightly to me before smashing my lips against his. The male chuckles as he holds me close and kisses back before pulling away and sliding the ring onto my finger, "I love you, I love you so much,"

"I love you more," Keigo coos, kissing me again and wrapping his arms around me as I snuggle into him tightly, "My beautiful fiancé,"

"You make me so happy, Keigo,"...

"You make me happier,"...

We're engaged!..
