Chapter 43

Taking a deep breath, I walk into the kitchen and tuck a strand of hair behind my ear. My eyes roaming around the room as I bite my lip and debate what to make myself for a quick snack. Wondering whether I want something small and quick to eat or something much better like a little mini meal. Something that could keep me going until Keigo comes home with our takeout. Clicking my tongue, I open up the cupboards and bite my lip. A small whine leaving my lips as I don't necessarily know what I want to eat.

Letting Angel play in the living room, I lean against the kitchen counter as I decide to settle for some toast instead of anything else. I grab two slices of bread and slide them into the toaster before pushing it down and letting it cook. While the bread is toasting, I pull out the butter and the jam and set them on the counter. I pull out a plate as well, setting it down on the counter too so everything it ready for me to eat.

With Keigo out on patrol, there isn't really much I could do with myself. I couldn't exactly go out due to having someone threaten to kidnap me and with them still not being able to pinpoint who it is, I would rather not risk it. I didn't want to do anything without Keigo being here, I just couldn't bring myself to do hand to hand combat. Mainly because I couldn't do hand to hand combat. I can't defend myself so I don't want to risk getting kidnapped because of my weaknesses.

Plus I couldn't stand to put Angel in danger!

As the toast pops up, I pull them out and set it down onto the plate. I grab a knife from the drawer and begin to spread the butter across the toast then adding the jam. Once it's all finished, I grab my plate and sit up at the dining table to dig into the toast. The fruity flavour of the jam exploding on my tastebuds as I lean back against my seat and take a deep breath. My stomach twisting slightly despite the fact I have bolted down every single window and door that I could.

Swallow down mouthfuls of my toast, I set down the plate and push to my feet. A small sigh leaving my lips as I set it down onto the sink before heading toward my bedroom. Paranoia clawing its way into my gut. Tucking a strand of hair behind my ear, I look at my reflection before checking the window to make sure it is bolted down. My heart beating in my ears as I check the kick and sigh in relief as my bedroom window is locked shut.

I then head toward the bathroom to check, making sure that's locked. It is. Then I went to the kitchen, checking the window. It's locked. Then I went into the spare room. Locked. It's okay... They're all locked... I'm safe... nothing is coming in.

After reassuring myself that I'm safe, telling myself that the paranoia in my brain is just playing with me, I push myself into the living room and slump into the couch. Leaning into the pillows, I turn on the tv and pull up Netflix to watch one of the many series the streaming service has. A smile on my lips as I turn it on and begin watching a new series (one that I know Keigo won't mind me starting or one that Keigo isn't interested in).

However, before I could get past the theme song, Angel starts barking. My eyes widening slightly as I pause the show and look behind the couch. Clearing my throat, I whistle to call Angel over before cursing under my breath when she refuses to come over. The dog continuing to bark at whatever she's barking.

I swear to god if it's a squirrel I'm going to cry!

Pushing to my feet, I tuck a strand of hair behind my ear and walk out of the living room. Following my dog's barks, I head through the hallway and sigh to myself as I see her sitting in the kitchen staring out the French windows with a growl. She was on all fours, her tail straight as a tailpipe as she grits her teeth and growls. My eyes widening slightly. She's never been like this before...

"Angel," I call out, walking toward her and gently running my fingers through her fur making her quieten down before snarling and running to the glass and getting on her hind legs, "Angel! What's gotten into you? Huh? Are you okay?"

"I don't know doll, you tell me,"

Freezing in my place, breath catching in my throat, I stare out the French doors. I see the glint of someone's reflection standing behind me. My eyes widening like saucers as I immediately slide my feathers into my back to avoid them being pulled. I scoop Angel into my arms and take a deep breath. Slowly, I turn around and stare toward the intruder. My arms tighten around Angel who growls toward the stranger and bares her teeth.

Why is Dabi in my home?...

Clearing my throat, I stare toward the ash black haired male. My eyes focusing on the scarred male as I slowly back into the french windows. Slowly, ever so slowly, I slide one of my hands down to my back pocket where my phone is. Once I have my hand on my phone, I press the off button five consecutive times to alert Keigo (it's something that Keigo had programmed since I have been threatened).

"You can either go easy or I'll have to start doing something that I think you won't like," Dabi speaks up making my back go numb as I tighten my grip on Angel, "Drop the dog,"

Clearing my throat, I bend down and drop Angel to the floor. Once she's on the floor, I usher her out of the kitchen and shut her in the hallway. My eyes never leave the villain as I curl my hands into fists and stare at him. A small sniffle leaving my nose as fear chokes my throat. My chest feeling tight. Keeping by the window, staying in sight just incase Keigo appears so he knows where I am, I stare at Dabi who arches a brow.

"What do you want?" I ask, trying not to make myself sound so shaky, while I press the off button on my phone five times again and again to make sure the alert has gone to Keigo, "You're the one that sent the messages aren't you?"

"Could say that, I'm only doing this because I'm getting paid," He says, looking behind me for a second before smirking to himself, "The details can be spoken about later,"

"You're not taking me anywhere," I hiss at him, taking another step back as he begins to stalk toward me, "How did you get in?!"

"I have my ways, plus it's pretty easy to find the spare key," He hums, looking behind me again and smirking. My heart in my throat. Keigo must be here, "Looks like lover boy's here,"

Like a fool, I turn around to see if he is in fact there before I'm pinned against the french windows making me shriek. Kicking myself, I struggle as he pushes me against the french windows with his knee in between my legs to stop me from kicking him. The male chuckling gently as his hands begin to heat up, my eyes widening slightly as it practically burns my skin. His breath tickling my ear as I struggle with a cry.

"Aren't you a little naive?" He teases, squeezing my wrists making me wince. My head throwing back as I try to headbutt him, "I suggest you keep still. I have someone at your mom's place, and they will do whatever I tell them to,"

"Let go of me," I say through gritted teeth, whining at the burning sensations on my wrists, "Hawks is going to come here and kick your ass,"

Dabi couldn't help but chuckle behind me. His chuckle echoing through the kitchen before he kicks the french doors open and pushes me into the arms of someone I have never seen before in all my life. My eyes widening as I scramble in their hold. Adrenaline pumping through my veins as I kick the person behind me in the crotch and release my wings from the back, I push myself into the sky and turn around to have a look at where the villains are.

My heart beats against my rib cage, threatening to break out. As my breath quickens, an array of blue flames is sent my way making me shriek and dodge it. My wrists were a horrible red colour, the skin burning to the touch. I couldn't exactly punch anyone. My wrists were in so much pain!

Trying to think of something to do, I look around hoping for Keigo. However, a wire wraps around my ankle making me scream as I'm pulled down to the floor and slam into the grass. A wince leaving my lips before I squeak out in pain as they pin me down to the floor, one of them holding a knife to my wings making me shake my head before sheathing my wings back into my back.

"Just knock her out," One of them growls making me shake my head and squeal as one of them grabs a white cloth soaked in what I can only assume is chloroform, "Quit squirming! God, you're making this so difficult!"

"Oh, I'm sorry, am I supposed to want to be kidnapped?" I hiss sarcastically, wriggling in their grip and shaking my head as they try to push the white cloth against my face. Once it's pinned to my face, I hold my breath and refuse to breathe it in. However, the longer I hold my breath, the harder it is to stay awake. As soon as Dabi punches my back, forcing me to breath, I inhale the chemical and curse under my breath, "Get off me!"

I still have five minutes...

Wriggling in their grip, I kick out and managing to land one on one of their stomachs, a whine leaving my lips as I push to my feet. My eyes staring toward the villains, my back in so much pain. My wings couldn't be let out, I couldn't get out as easily as I wanted to and Angel is still at home. Taking a deep breath, I back up slowly.

I still have five minutes...

However, as I stare at them I can feel my brain being consumed by something. Dizziness choking my eyeballs as I slowly fall from my feet to my knees. My breath getting quicker as I shake my head and whine to myself. Dabi takes a step closer, wrapping his arms around me and picking me up.

I still have five minutes...

Wincing, I weakly push at the scarred male and shake my head. A small choked sob leaving my lips as I try to push him away. His arms tightening around my body as I try to wriggle out of his grip. My movements beginning to get sluggish. My arms not working. My legs refusing to kick at them. I couldn't move. My eyes couldn't keep open.

I still have...

Five...

Min...
