HR 54: VIRTUAL REALITY

Sanskar rushed inside the home. Literally he had lost his mind. “Ragini..” he called as he scanned the home. But there was no response. “Ragini...” he screamed this time. He was beyond frustrated. He sat on the couch and covered his face with his palms. He looked up when he heard the creaking sound of the door.

Ragini was relaxing while she was closing the door. But her heart had to jump to her mouth when she turned finding her husband who looked not less than any monster right now.

She wasn't expecting him to be at home at this time. And plus his expression sure killed her momentarily. She gathered herself and tried to smile at him.

“Hi”  she said weakly. He stood crossing his arms pointing his looks. Only if look could kill Ragini would have been dead by now.

“Ha...how are you early today?” she fumbled. Her heart was still beating fast. “Where were you?” his one question was enough to raise her heart beat ten times than it was already. It was so fast that her chest started to hurt.

“Um..Me? I was just outside. In the garden” she smiled weakly. “Doing what? Cat walk?” he pointed at her dress. She looked at herself and internally cursed herself. She could have told she went to the market or somewhere else like temple which sounded more convincing. But no she had to give up to her anxiety at the wrong time.

“I...I actually thought of going to the temple. But I wasn't feeling good so I just was taking a walk in the garden” she held her head and walked past him. He continued to glare her. And Ragini sensed his eyes not softening. She worked her brain out to think of something more to tackle the bombarding of more questions.

“You did not answer me” she looked up at him. “Where have you been?” he countered her with one more question. She narrowed her eyes looking at him. He had lost all his patience now.

Holding her elbow he dragged her near to him and she hit his chest. “Don't play dumb with me” he warned her. “I am not playing dumb okay” she tried to get out of his hold but failed.

“I repeat again Ragini. Where the hell were you?” he screamed this time which jerked her. “Let go off me” she tried hard to get out of his hold. “No unless you answer me. I am not going to let you go” he spoke determined. “I told you where I went” she looked into his eyes. His strong hold was hurting her. But this was not the time to give up.

“Lie...One more lie” he hissed nearing her and she looked up at him shocked. “What are you talking about?” she asked trying to act normal. But her heart was galloping when he dragged her still near to himself.

“You knew there were cameras in our room. You knew there were other ways to track our moment in Maheshwari mansion” he neared her face which went pale in a second. “Wha.. what are you talking?” she asked him maintaining her expression.

“I am talking the truth. You are the reason that my sister is not in this world any more” he spat bitterly and his nails pierced her skin. She winced in pain and her eyes started to tear.

His heart was sinking. He shouldn't have told it but his mind argued that he was in right path.

“Sanskar” she whispered painfully. “How can you say that?” a tear tripped her eye. “Then tell me why did you hid it from me? You knew there was a camera in our room and Uttara was forced to spy on us. You knew everything because you were part of it” he screamed and Ragini closed her eyes and let out more tears.

“Why?” he let go of her this time defeated. “Why?” he collapsed on his knees. “Sanskar...” Ragini reached him but he stopped her staring up at her with rage.

“I don't want to hear more lies from you. Either tell me the truth or don't speak at all” he stood up pointing his finger at her. “You could have told me Ragini and Uttara would have been with us” he looked painfully at her. She nodded her head still crying. “Sanskar please” she pleaded him. “I said either truth or no words” he warned again. She formed a fist and controlled herself.

“Trust me” she choked. “Trust you? Trust you? You knew everything and you knew Uttara was being compromised then you did not feel it necessary to share it with me?” he neared her dangerously.

“Have you told me everything Sanskar? Have you told me everything till now?” she countered and there was fire in her eyes. And he stopped his approach. “That makes us horrible persons for each other then” he looked down and then stared in her eyes.

“What the hell...” she was interrupted. “I finally understand why are we facing so many problems in our life. Because...” “Because.?” she expected him not to say it.

“Because we aren't meant for each other” he closed his eyes. “You so didn't say that” she charged at him furious. He did not answer. “You so didn't say that you moron” she started to hit his chest as she could no longer hold the pain which arouse due to his words.

“You didn't” she collapsed still holding him. He made her to stand. And she continued to hit him with her fists. Anger pain all the emotions were killing her in that moment. And her heart was paining.

“Why didn't you just kill me before saying all this?” she screamed nearing him. Sanskar had no courage to look at her.

She wiped her eyes furiously. “Fine” she walked from there and walked to the kitchen. Sanskar turned to watch her. She held the knife and slit her wrist in a go. “Ragini....” he screamed when he saw her collapsing with the wounded hand and looked at him with painful eyes.

The honks of the vehicle behind him awoke him and he realized it was all his illusion what he saw till now. How can he even think of speaking all that to his wife. “I...I am sorry” he apologized to the person who was banging the car window angry for applying the break suddenly and making his scooter hit Sanskar's car.

He lowered the window and apologized and handed his card to send the bill for the repair. He drove his car from there.

He stopped at the door and then entered the home. Ragini was arranging the folded clothes. He placed his head on her shoulder hugging from back side. Ragini jerked initially but recognized his touch and relaxed.

“OMG. I didn't knew I will blessed with your presence so soon today” she turned to him happy but her smile faded as she saw him sad. “Hey” she cupped his face.

“What's wrong?” she asked clueless and he crashed his lips on hers and closed his eyes. She was dumbstruck for the moment. He needed to lose his mind right now and better than this there was no other way. He pushed her to the wall beside  and she was still grasping the things just happening.

“Sanskar...” she hyperventilated when their lips separated but his body was still pressing her to the wall. She could feel the passion in his eyes and there was something else also with it. Kind of hurt emotion.

“Shhh” he stopped her from speaking further and kissed her neck. She closed her eyes and arched her back while he pulled her near. “Sanskar...” she struggled to speak with her hitching breaths.

“Hmmm” he hummed and his breath hit her bare skin. She did not knew what to tell him right now. “What has got into you?” she asked confused. “Loving my wife is any kind of a crime?” he looked into her eyes then stared at her lips. She smiled gulping the lump down her dry throat.

“I did not say that” she stuttered. He kissed her again passionately locking her hands above her head. She lost herself in that needy kiss of his. “Then don't stop me” he demanded breaking the kiss. She looked down blushing. He kissed her neck and she bit her lips not able to contain herself.

Ragini's phone ringed jerking them. She released herself and adjusted her distorted Saree and started to move towards the night stand. But she was stopped when Sanskar held her wrist.

“Someone is calling Sanskar” she turned to him while he dragged her and she crashed on his chest. “Everything can wait Ragini” he spoke and leaned to her. “But what if it is some emergency?” she tried to get out of his hold.

“It can wait” he kissed her earlobe and she shivered. They moved towards the bed still kissing and Sanskar silenced Ragini's phone and then turned it off.

Ragini lied beside Sanskar who was asleep. She grabbed the phone which was on the other side of the bed. She felt his grip tightening on her waist and fell back. He mumbled in his sleep. She closed her eyes and then opened them slowly.

He turned and hugged her naked form locking her in her place. She had no escape now.

The sun rays entered their room and disturbed Sanskar. HE looked on his right where Ragini was sleeping. She moved in her sleep and he smiled kissing her forehead.

Something inside him made that feeling fade and he stared her blankly. He could not be angry on her or blame her for whatever was happening. He had to stop her from whatever she was doing. After last night he hated himself. This was not the way he wanted to consummate their marriage. But his anger and hurt had to come out some way and they preferred this passionate way.

“Ummm” Ragini mumbled in her sleep and he moved to the curtains covering them. He walked to the washroom and stood below the shower and let the cold water touch his skin.

He walked to the kitchen after freshening up. Placing the breakfast in the tray he moved to their room. Ragini just woke up and was rubbing her eyes.

“Hey Biwi” he placed the tray on the side table and rubbed her forehead. She yawned and opened her eyes. “You look so cute” he cupped her face and she smiled with her closed eyes. “Get freshen up. I have already made the breakfast” he kissed her cheek which turned pink.

She did as she was told to do. As she walked out of the washroom she found Sanskar at the balcony staring the sky. She walked to him and placed her head over his shoulder. He stiffened feeling her presence.

He turned to place a sweet caring kiss on her forehead and she smiled. “I am sorry” he spoke and Ragini looked up at him confused. “What for?” she asked.  “For last night” he closed his eyes. She chuckled. Then her smile faded.

“Are you sorry for what happened yesterday?” she asked and he could feel her pain. “You are” she held the tear which wanted to set free from her eye.

She controlled her cry and moved towards the room but Sanskar held her wrist. “I am not sorry for what happened. I am sorry for the way it happened” he confessed.

She closed her eyes. He reached her and turned to face him. Cupping her face he touched her forehead with his.

“I did not wanted to make you feel this Ragini” he spoke looking into her eyes. “But you already made me feel the worst” she rubbed her nose and he kissed her eyes.

“I am sorry for miscommunication” he apologized. “I love you and the consummation of our marriage was the best thing happened in our relationship but we both weren't ready for it” he spoke honestly.

She looked down and he made her look up. “And I am sorry for that” he apologized.

“This was so special. I thought it was special for you also. But I never knew you are feeling sorry for it” she moved away from him and he cursed himself for saying it.

“Ragini please” he pleaded. “Go away Sanskar” she screamed and he hit his fist to the wall beside and cursed himself.

Laksh looked at his phone again. “Damn” he cursed when one more recorded voice played. “What the hell is wrong with her? I have to tell her what I found in the chip” he worried holding the chip in his hand.

“Laksh?” he heard a voice and jerked. As he turned he found Swara walking to him confused. “What are you doing here at this time?” he asked worried. “I just woke up from my sleep and you weren't there. So I came here” she placed her hand over her baby bump.

“Oh... I am so sorry about it” he apologized. He really felt bad for making his wife walk up to the terrace. “Come” he helped her to walk. “What's that?” Swara asked when she saw a pen drive in his other hand. He immediately placed it in his pocket. “Nothing. Some important office stuff” he smiled at her and she nodded her head walking with him.

Laksh though closed his eyes could not sleep for a long time. The information he had was dangerous and he had to convey it to Ragini at any cost as early as possible.

“Ragini..” Sanskar held Ragini's wrist while she moved away after serving him breakfast next morning. He wanted to talk to her but his phone ringed and he had to let go off her hand.

“Sanskar...” he heard a lady's voice and she was weeping. “Badi maa” he asked worried. “Beta... Laksh” she hiccuped. “What happened to Laksh?” Ragini's ears sharpened when she heard Sanskar and rushed out of the kitchen.

What Annapurna told stopped Sanskar's heart beat for a moment. His eyes bulged out.
