When Ragini turned to see the owner of the voice could not believe her eyes.

"Why?" Her words were almost whisper.

His already dropped shoulders had no more room to fall.

He turned to move to his room like a broken man.

"Sanskar" Ragini followed him but he closed the door before she could even get him.

She kept banging the door.

"I need your answer" she demanded with her choking voice.

"I don't have any answers for any question Ragini" he leaned to the door.

"Sanskar please let me help you with this. I know you will be drown in greater grief if you don't punish the culprits. Then why are you doing this" she asked helplessly.

"He is my family Ragini. More than the pain of losing Kavitha I won't forgive myself if I won't be able to protect him" he said experiencing peak of pain.

"Hiding his sins is not protecting him Sanskar. You're putting him in greater danger" she requested him.

"I'm done Ragini. Please I have niether energy nor interest to argue" he walked to his bed.

Ragini tried to get him talking but failed.

She walked away from there defeated.

She found Laksh still standing with the same smirk waiting for her.

"Oh sister in law. I know Bro can be stubborn at times" he gave her a pity look.

She closed her eyes huffing and her nostrils flared up.

"Don't you think you won it" she pointed her index finger at him.

"For the record. I have won it already. I'm not just thinking it" he shrugged his shoulders.

Sujata stood beside Ragini and her anger cooled a bit when her mother in law nodded her head.

Ragini closed her hand forming a fist and her nails pierced her skin.

Her tolerance had blown away. One side it was her husband who was stubborn and on the other side it was the new threat which was always in front of her but came into light recently.

"If you don't mind I have to check on my pregnant wife" he gave her a tight smile to Ragini before walking towards the stairs.

"Laksh" Swara walked to her husband to hug him tightly.

"God I thought I will never see you" she spoke emotionally.

'I know wifey. Given the first chance you will never want to see me' he spoke in his mind but gave a weak smile to his pregnant wife.

"I'm a bit exhausted" he said as he walked to get himself freshened up.

'Something isn't fitting. I'm  more than happy to find out that you were always against your elder brother who literally spoiled our life but...' Swara was confused.

'Why did he hid it from me?' she looked thoughtful.

But her confusion was not going to get a solution soon.

Ragini closed the tap after she washed the last vessel and wiped her wet hands.

She was near the door of the kitchen when suddenly the power surge made the whole mansion dark.

"Damn. This power cut" she cursed.

"But why the inverter has not turned ON?" she looked towards the Power supply board where there was not even the light of the inverter glowing.

"I think it has damaged. I have to tell the servants to get it repaired in the morning. Let me light some candles at least" she walked towards the table.

She felt someone's presence suddenly behind her. She stopped herself and turned.

But it was nothing but darkness. She thought may be it was just her hallucinations.

But her senses got alerted when she heard a weak tap of leg.

She quickly searched for a candle and lighted it and turned.

But there was none.

She was sure it was not her illusion. She surely heard someone's foot steps.

She walked further towards the stairs to check.

She looked around analysing the stairs.

She turned to walk towards her room when she jerked suddenly finding someone just behind her.

"Badi maa" she looked at Annapurna.

She did not answer but walked towards the table and lit One more candle and walked towards her room.

"Badi maa" she tried stopping her.

"Aren't you happy ruining the happiness of this home?  Why are you walking around to scare the people. What if Swara gets shocked due to it" Annapurna spoke without turning.

Ragini kept looking at her while she felt the foot taps again and turned but there was none.

Suddenly the power returned and the mansion lit up scaring her again.

She closed her eyes taking a deep breath to relax her fast beating heart.

When her mind rested but thoughts still kept roaming thinking about her recent experience she walked towards her room blowing the candle.

She sat on her bed and kept analyzing the incidents just happened.

She felt foot steps near the steps and when she reached there she suddenly turned to be greeted by Annapurna.

But Annapurna's room was on the other side. She walked towards the guest room where Sanskar stayed.

She quickly rushed to the guest room.

She found the door open and opened it slowly and found Sanskar sleeping peacefully.

She slowly walked in and analysed the room for any changes.

There was that locket Sanskar was holding dearly from morning. It laid near the window.

She was about to walk towards it when her wrist felt a grip.

She stopped her steps and turned to find Sanskar looking at her.

He got up and sat straightening himself.  She looked around to find an apt revert.

"Ragini... I..." he looked at her apologetically. Ragini thanked her luck and maintained the straight face.

"I...  Just came to check on you" she spoke stiffly.

She released her hand and walked out of the room to get saved from the questions Sanskar might attack her with.

She relaxed herself and sat on the bed and opened her hand where she held the locket.

It had an unique pendent. She tried to open it but it did not. She used every thing she could to open it. But nothing worked.

She was tired. So placed the locket inside the locker of her dresser and lied on her bed.

She replayed the things she observed in Sanskar's room.

When she last time saw the locket it was on the side table drawer near the bed. But it was lying near the window.

And the water jug near Sanskar was replaying in her mind.

That wasn't covered the way Sanskar always keeps it.

She narrowed her eyes trying to understand each puzzle but everything looked so messed up.

Laksh looked up from his system to find someone.

The person smirked and Laksh gave him a sceptical look.
