(2) Hate the friends of his
Guys, give me some time before things get into motion. Enjoy!
---
I continued to stare at the back of his chair. I could barely see it from all the way behind, but it was enough to annoy me and keep me busy.
He's so annoying.
How could he just sit and listen to the teacher as if he isn't bored? The least he could do was flinch a little. No movement what so ever.
"Alan!"
I snapped my eyes to Mr. Rick. He was staring at me with his eyes wide and arms out in the open. Oh, he must've been calling for me for a while. He looked, annoyed.
"Can we have you back in my class so we can move along to the next paragraph of the book that's going to grade seventy-five percent of your term marks?" I nodded swiftly. It was always either me or Brian who get told off for not concentrating in class. Not my fault the man didn't teach well.
Then again, he never get's told off. The perfect Max Winters.
I wondered if he notices me staring at his back in English. Again, not my fault that he always sits at the front. And just like that, after the little shout from Mr. Rick, the morning classes ended quick and it was lunch.
The whole school was always busy at lunch. Most hung out in the cafeteria which was better since Drake and I always took over the benches in the fields. It was our place. The senior squad. It was stupid to be possessive over an eating spot, but who could blame us, we literally spent half of school time playing soccer.
"Hey Alan, move over." I didn't get a chance to figure out what was happening. The next thing I know, I was shoved onto Tracy's side, making her squeak and Brian was sitting next to me on the other.
I opened my mouth to tell him off. He plays soccer, he was fit. He didn't need space enough for two. That was until I found Max Winters sitting on the edge.
Of course. Max fucking Winters.
"What the hell is he doing here?"
Brian shrugged and I wish for a moment that he wasn't my friend. "The cafe's full today so I decided, why not let Max and Mason join us. We don't have Finn and Derick here so, why not?"
I lost my appetite. "Why not? Why the fuck not?! You know how-" I pulled Brian closer by his collar. He almost choked in surprise. Good. I whispered the last part, trying my best not to let Max hear it. "You know how much I hate him!"
Brian nodded but being the oblivious fucker he is, he decided to announce it to the whole school. "That's why I thought why not. You know, you guys could get to know each other better and make our lives easier so we can all enjoy our time together at school before we part and do the world greater good."
I wanted to punch him hard in the face. He'd get a bruise that'd last a month long.
"Actually," it was Max who spoke. "I have nothing against him." He was looking at me but I was busy smashing my already mashed potato. "I honestly don't know why he hates me so much."
Drake snorted and I took a second to glare at him in front. He was sitting alone. Why was everyone trying to sit on my side?
"Right, right! Wow, I honestly thought that you'd know man! What? Has it been like, how long? Since the start of high school?"
Brian Bright was a dead man to me.
I stood, pushing my lunch away with no effort. It toppled over and a few pieces of the mashed potato spilled. I didn't care. I hated mashed potato.
Glaring at Brian, making sure he got that I was mad at him, I waked away from them. I can't believe I couldn't even stay with my friends for lunch. All because of him. Fucking Max Winters.
I didn't walk far before I was stopped from what I wanted to do, again. As I almost made it to the doors to the school building, I barely caught the figure bumping past me as Katie.
Right, Katie, my sister.
"Katie? What's wrong?"
I normally would've been pissed at her for always ignoring me and all but one look at how she cowered away back to our lunch spot, head bowed, I knew something bad must've happened.
I didn't run, but when I'd fast-walked to her side, pulling at her forearm so she could stop running away, we were back at our table. Everyone noticed Katie's expression. Everyone was waiting for an explanation. I didn't like how Max stared as well. He could go to hell before he started to pretend to care about my sister.
"You have to tell us what happened for us to take care of it Paws."
The nickname must've gotten to her because she broke down, clutching onto me and cried. I shared a glance at Drake. We knew what the crying meant. Katie had only cried like that once, because she was so stubborn back then.
Drake and I made sure that she never had to go through it again, but then Mason Hut happened. Max fucking Winter's best friend.
Tracy was beside Katie the next second and so were the girls who knew her from class when they caught onto the situation from another bench.
I turned my attention to Max but he only stared at me, clueless. How could one person still think that they're so perfect when they're being pointed accusingly at?
"Where the fuck is Mason, Winters?!"
He didn't even think about standing up. He didn't even react defensively.
"How would I know?"
I pulled Katie off of me and Tracy caught her. I took a step to Max and he finally stood up. "What the fuck is wrong with you and everyone you converse with?"
What made me even more mad was that he smiled. Amused; he was amused. "Do you always swear in every sentence you make?"
He was so lucky that Brian stood on his side because he stopped me from landing a fist on him. I was heaving, angry that I let someone like Mason, who was a friend of fucking Max Winters, hurt Katie in the end.
"Katie!"
My gears turned fast but Drake was faster. He was out of his seat and running to Mason before I even turned around. I was rushing up to catch up but from my view, I loved how Drake took a full swing at Mason, making him land onto the field in seconds.
I was pulled back before I could even process Drake's next move. Someone grabbed my hands from behind and tuned it back, locking it with their's like a cuff. I tried to nudge the guy, whoever he was, off, but he had the strength of being taller than me.
I saw Brian's dirty blonde hair rushing to stop Drake. It was a good move. As much as the fucker deserved the beating, Drake didn't deserve any suspension coming his way. Not with the games and final year all mashed up together.
"Stop struggling."
I knew that voice. I knew very well of the perfect voice.
I only made it harder for him, kicking my legs back. He held on pretty well for someone who doesn't do sports. "Let me go Winters or I swear you won't see the light of tomorrow!"
He didn't let go. Of course, he probably wanted to use the situation to get himself the perfect peacemaker award.
"I said, let go!"
He let out a heavy breath. I felt it on the back of my neck. He was close. Really close.
"Only if you stop making this whole thing harder. Don't lash out on Mason and I'll let go."
I didn't want to stop but I knew I didn't have any other option. I came to a stop and soon, the weight of Mr. Perfect was off of me. I didn't jump at Mason, who was being dragged away a few meters from Drake.
Drake'd cooled down too, but I could see that it was only because Brian was there and he didn't want to disrespect the dude.
I made sure to give Max a hard glare. He didn't take it and it only pissed me more.
Why was he so perfect?
I ignored him and walked to Katie only to realize that the girls weren't there. Of course, they're probably off hiding in the toilets or something. Katie's told me that that was like their secret hide out where they could do anything. Girls were like fucking superwoman inside their restrooms; apparently, they owned it.
"Look, Alan." I groaned. Did the guy want more? Was Drake not enough? "You have to believe me, I didn't do it. Sarah just came onto me! She knew that I have a girlfriend but she just pushed me back. Honestly, I was too shocked to-"
"Had." That was all I responded with.
Mason looked confused but I turned to Max, raising a brow at him. I knew he didn't, wouldn't, understand why I was looking at him. Hell, even I didn't know why I was looking at his way. I stared at his forehead, that's all I ever do whenever I look his way. A habit, I guess.
"What?"
"Had. You had a girlfriend Mason." I turned back to him, tugging at Drake so we could get back to our table. "Don't you ever think about standing near Katie ever again."

How was it guys? It'd be great if you could tell me.
