Chapter XII: Faithful

It always started with the fascination of faith between two individuals that had fairly seperate lives. I was awestruck at how far anyone would go for the other. Ever since I was little, my family raised me to accept devotion and embrace life's blessings.

They never told me how I would be let down by the one thing I agreed to the most in life. The only thing I convinced myself to love.

I had to experience it on my own. It was raw and time wouldn't pass by. I was crystallized into nothingness that I tried to get out of endlessly.

Why is it that most of the time we are torn down by the things we gave effort into?

The two forbidden couple disappeared from my view, and Reign was a seething fire.

"How dare she lie to me?" He was riled up as he kept pacing back and forth, clenched fists and a scowl damaging his face.

"Maybe she didn't bring it up," I whispered, I was trying to get over it myself. "What are you doing here early?" I asked, attempting to change the subject.

"I ditched the lame class." He casually said, his broad back was seen in a flannel after he took off his sweater at our kitchen bar.

"Looks like you had company," he noted with a quirked eyebrow at me, I was dazed enough to forget about the teapot in the sink. "Is it a new lover?" What was with the whole speed dating thing around the dorms?

"No, it's my friend Lowe, he came by to check up on me." I dismissed his excessive thoughts.

"I recognize this name, what's his full name?" He pushed further into the subject.

Lowe's eyes on the poster.

His job as a waiter.

Wait–

"Lowe Adams." I gasped out. Reign's eyes went saucers at my surprise.

"What the fuck, Naya? my childhood sweetheart was here in my room and you didn't tell me?" He ranted, his chest heaving up and down.

"I swear I didn't know until now." I excused in a rush. The guy that I crushed on turned out to be the same guy Reign had feelings for.

Talk about the turn of events.

I did have a hunch on his sexuality, but I never believed it. Reign grabbed me by the arms to urge me to continue.

I spilled all the details to the engrossed boy, who listened attentively. A big, wide smile colored his face when I told him how he took in the poster all the time.

Reign blushed profusely at the thought that the guy he never saw except once or twice recalled his memories with him.

Their connection was faithful even when they didn't see each other again. Just by both of their reactions, I highlighted the loyalty and their raw feelings that cocooned them even in their farthest time.

I knew that because I had it with Lucas. At least, Reign had a heartfelt moment with Lowe and that was enough for me to offer him a meeting with his crush.

"You'd do that for me?" His eyes gleamed in pure elation as he took me in for a hug when I nodded, giggling as he tickled me.

The fresh and disordered piles made the trees decorated with soft and sodden white beauty of snow. It created footsteps of the memories of a mistletoe tree and a passionate kiss. Lucas and I had our kiss under the mistletoe with eyes that were stuck on each other; it reminded us that love protected us from the pain of the blistering cold.

Becky barged into my peaceful moment, and I didn't want to talk to her. I just felt worn out to confront her about anything I saw.

She chose to do the job for me.

"Hey, doing alright?" It was a simple question, but the fake sadness in her eyes only showed me otherwise.

"Yeah, you?" I sipped on my lemon and ginger mix.

"Yes, I just want to vent it out to you, remember the Lucas I told you about? how he was my friend..." – a very close friend – "well, he kissed me and told me that he only wanted me, I used Ivan before our college began to spite him but I am deeply in love with him," love triangle, "I don't know how to tell Ivan, Lucas would try to sabotage this." She fretted as she fidgeted on the chair that faced the couch.

"Don't tell Ivan." I voiced out, I turned sinister at her crocodile tears. I knew now how manipulative she could get by her luring looks.

I wanted Lucas to tell. That was exactly what my next letter would be. To all the people who were like Lucas and Becky, they deserved what was coming to them.

The moment she wanted to speak, Reign meddled in at the perfect time. He frowned at Becky, who was taken by shock at how Reign changed his perception of her.

"What's wrong? why are you looking at me like that?" She tried to act innocent, but I hid my quirky smile when he told her to get out.

"You fucking lied to me, you told me that my best friend used you when you dated him and he forgave you. I almost believed you." I grimaced at how mad Reign could get and how unforgiving he appeared.

I didn't want to see how he would turn on me if he found out what I did to his best friend. For all that was worth, I would get my fair share of justice.

"Let me explain, Naya, tell him–" she wanted me to fall into her bait. I didn't utter one single word, and Reign had to take her out by force as she cried to him, wanting to mend things.

My plan was beginning. My eyes returned to the notebook that laid on my pillow with a dark grin on my face. I was going to create my own hell.
