Chapter IX: Invisible

I just wondered how people often go through the reeling parts of life — do they let it be? Turn on a new page? Or go through it fully? Some people wanted to experience this through just for the lesson, other people were victimized by the harsh reality that the other individual couldn't have the ability to love.

I was a disconcerted soul. I watched his tall and bold figure in full view with his black coat that brought out the intense blue irises out and I didn't want to deal with the reel just yet.

Lucas was right in front of me, but his eyes were on the person behind me. His face paled even more, his eyes held sadness when he met his dad's eyes and I stepped aside to let him go through this by himself.

"You fucking failure." I could make out the words his dad said to my heartbreaker, and I glared at the way his dad grabbed on his son's upper arm tightly.

"Leave me alone." his voice was in a whisper, he was either depressed when it came down to his dad or he didn't like the people to see the fued.

I was about to listen more.

Becky's hand was on my shoulder and I looked at her to my side since we were the same height. She arched a brow at me, her nose pierce a purplish color that made her light eyebrows pop out.

"Already got a number there, I see?" She wiggled her eyebrows as she held my hand open, Lowe had to have a big hand-writing.

"It's just a friend I made in history." I came to my own defence, and she had a suggestive smile on while I tried to cover my own with my other hand.

"Let's make him your future." She joked, we both giggled at her dorky side. Although she had a rock-ish style to her, she was anything but bland. She had radiant killer vibes to her, more than she let on.

"Or I could play the matchmaker and get you two together." I suggested, and she had a simple smile on her full lips.

"Wait till Ivan hears that, he will flip," she commented, and I gave her a confused glance. "Here he comes." She pointed to the most elegant guy in this college.

He had an exhilirating presence to him as he walked with a navy cashmere jumper that matched his cobalt eyes with denim jeans and boots. Okay, snap out of this, this is her boyfriend.

"Hello ladies." His full-on russian accent hit through as his arm automatically linked around Becky's waist once he gave her a forehead kiss. No wonder he looked that good.

"Hell-o...I am Becky's friend." My mind was jumbled on what to say, but Becky was gazing at her boyfriend when he spoke.

"Becky's boyfriend, Ivan." He held his hand out when he stated proudly. Their well-formed relationship was shown in the way he peered down at her and the way that she had a different kind of smile for him.

I shook his hand, his strong soft palm warmed mine when he gave me a smile to show a dimple on his left cheek.

"I have Chemistry right now, see you both later." Becky pecked her boyfriend on the lips, and I shyly casted my eyes away from the precious scene.

"You can look now." Becky said, and I was stunned at how bright Becky got after Ivan went to his class. She was wide-eyed dreamy and the blush was constant on her rounded cheeks.

"How did you land him?" I sputtered without thinking, and I wanted to facepalm for the third time today.

"It's okay," she chuckled at my mortification, and she linked her arm through mine. "He was a mutual friend with the social elite, we met through a party." She answered, her other hand fixed her red sweater.

I didn't know what came over me when I asked the question. "Who's the social elite?" The bustling crowds lessened as each student went to their second courses at the narrowed hallway.

"Lucas Hughes." Of course. It had to be fucking him.

It was ironic how every friend of mine was familiar with the rich bad boy. I didn't want to exaggerate, but even the gays and lesbians knew him.

It was impossible not to know the guy with voluminous curls.

On the brighter side, they didn't know that I was the popular guy's one-year ex. I was on the safe side and Lucas-free after more hate letters. As cheesy as it was, I was victoriously proud that my letter had grasped his attention enough to dwell on who I was.

Becky had the same Business course as mine, so we decided to go together until we had came across to Lucas and Reign. Becky just had to scream out at the two guys.

"Lucas, over here." She chose to run off to him for a hug, making this the perfect time to escape. I walked fast and away from the two people I wanted to avoid for now.

I managed to be embraced by the wind when my eyes looked at the frozen trunks of the trees just outside the college. It was time for a walk I guess, that and I had to think of an explanation to the busty girl that I ditched.

It was bad enough that they both knew him, closely, might I add. This day kept getting better and better if Lowe knew them too.

I kicked the snow out of rage as I felt the hot tears that spilled through at the memories of us playing chase through a different winter. The kind of gracious winter that bound us together the night he asked me to be his girl.

We had kissed on these piles of snow, but I wasn't cold in his arms and I wasn't distant with his eyes.

He made me that way. Cold and distant.
