4. A Coffee

"One time we're fighting, the other time we're worried for each other. Love, what sort of hate do we possess?"

----

"Of course! Thank you." The woman took the beverage in her hands feeling its warmth, a small smile crept up on her face, her cheeks flushed up to rosy pinkish colour. Sierra sat beside her with another cup of coffee for herself.

"We have the next scene together, can we discuss and practice it once?" She asked, almost pleading. Well, it's her first day on the set, no matter how much of a popular actress she is, it's natural to feel nervous and Violet understood that. She nodded at her proposal and being the professionals they were, they swiftly started practicing the lines, their characters flipped in mere seconds.

Meanwhile, Jungkook was closely observing the two ladies from the corner of his eyes. He has worked with Sierra before and as far as he knows her, he's well aware she doesn't like to mix-up with her co-stars, let alone take the initiative herself and ask for practicing the lines and she's especially full of attitude in front of him. She's a pro in this field and she doesn't need to practice, what's with the sudden change of attitude?

"Is she trying to be humble nowadays?" He tilted his head wondering and then soon, another thought awakened in his mind.

"Nah... not possible. That woman's body is made up of seventy percent ego and thirty percent water." He thought to himself, Sierra's actions and that innocent face of hers was giving him eerie vibes.

Although, he knows she hasn't done anything weird in this industry, rather it's quite the opposite- she's one of those handful of actors who have never been caught in some controversy, but to Jungkook her innocence was the most suspicious thing. He didn't know why, though he hates Violet but looking at both Violet and Sierra together, he's getting suspicious vibes from the latter for some reason.

At this point he was staring at the two females, who were unaware of the two dark brown orbs observing them keenly. Just as he was about to look away to focus on his work, the cup of sizzling hot coffee fell from Sierra's hand and it landed on Violet's thigh making the woman jump from her seat. She groaned in pain, the hot liquid must've scaled her skin.

Jungkook too jolted up from his seat and was about to approach her but something stopped him.

"Why am I worried about her?" He wondered but a sudden sense of humanity awoke inside him.

Everyone surrounded the two women and Yoora too rushed towards them but Jungkook remained at the same place, rummaging through his belongings, searching for something. A worried expression made its way on his flawless face.

"I'm- I'm so sorry! Are you alright?!" Sierra hysterically took up the wet wipes with her and started to wipe the stain off her dress. Tears welled up in the corner of Violet's eyes as the beverage was terribly hot and her thigh region- where the coffee fell- was hurting so much. She tried her best to not burst out crying and nibbled her lips, her shut close for a moment and a painful groan made its way from her mouth.

"Hyun, where are the cold ice packs you bought for me?" The actor annoyingly asked his manager and the latter gave the younger a weird look, but he kept the conversation for later and immediately answered him.

"They're in the car, I'll bring them asap!" He answered and rushed at the speed of light, while Jungkook worriedly gazed at the woman in front.

They were just a few meters apart from each other but the distance between them appeared to be huge. He wanted to approach Violet but a rush of indecipherable emotions made him stop on his track and he remained at the same position.

"Violet please sit! Someone, please bring some ice packs!" Yoora shouted horrified looking at Violet's state. The expensive dress that she was wearing was sponsored by an international brand and above all, her thigh region was totally reddened by now. Steadily, she sat on her seat.

"Violet, I'm so sorry-" Sierra apologized for the nth time by now and Violet cut her words off by showing her hand to make the woman stop from speaking anymore.

"It's alright Sierra, I know you didn't do it on purpose. Please don't apologize." Violet portrayed a sheepish smile to her and the woman, almost on the verge of crying, nodded at her statement.

"What happened here?" Mr. Hwang who was apparently busy with his work came back and saw the whole cast and crew near Violet. Of course, he thought Jungkook and Violet again had a fight, but now things appear different. The woman instantly got up from her seat and replied back.

"Nothing big. It's just a stain on the dress, don't worry I'll pay back for it. I'm sorry to you all too, let's continue the shoot." She apologized, slightly bowing to everyone.

"Apply something on your wound. We'll continue the shoot in twenty minutes." Mr. Hwang understood the situation and ordered. Everyone got back to their positions except the actors and their managers.

"Violet, does it hurt a lot? Do you want to see a doctor?" Sierra enquired, placing her hand on the woman's shoulder. She glanced at her hand and then displayed a small smile towards her, shrugging off her hand.

"No, I'm fine. Let's not delay the shoot, we have the next scene together so I think you should go for your touch-ups." She assured her. Sierra nodded at her statement and slowly went away towards her makeup artist.

Meanwhile, Jungkook and Violet clenched their fists in rage, making the knuckles turn white, when they glanced towards Sierra. He was observing the two women for quite sometime by now and he can make out why Kim Sierra was being this suspicious and Violet too was observing her and she too, can make out very well, who's being genuine and who's putting on a mask. Afterall, they both are the two top actors of the nation. Being in this field for such a long time, they can make out people's intentions quite well.

Both of them glared at Sierra's fading figure, as she went away to her room and thought to themselves, "She did this on purpose."

"Violet, use these." Hyun rushed towards Violet with the ice-packs and the woman straight-away denied using them, again, glaring towards Jungkook. She knew he sent Hyun here and she was super annoyed by Jungkook, as always, let alone make use of the things given by him.

"I don't need anyone's help." She coldly retorted looking straight into the man's eyes and rushed towards her changing room to change the dress and get ready for the next scene.

"This stubborn shrimp." He muttered.

Her words did hurt Jungkook, he gloomily lowered his head but didn't say anything. He knew what he did and her hate for him is natural. Jungkook too hates Violet but in this situation, looking at how someone succeeded in hurting her and she could not do anything against it, he couldn't help but lose his calm. A muscle flexed in his jaw and he tilted his head and started reading the script to divert his attention, trying to control his anger.

"Violet, are you alright? Should we cancel the shoot?" Yoora asked her as she noticed there were blisters on her thigh by now. Her skin is sensitive, Yoora's aware of that and the hot liquid must've hurted like hell.

"No, I don't want to create trouble anymore. I've delayed the shoots enough because of my bickering and fights with that dumb fuck." She explained and the older nodded, taking out some cooling cream to apply to the burned area.

"By the way, Sierra, she almost cried after accidentally doing that. Poor girl, must've got so nervous." Yoora spoke out, making the younger scoff at her statement.

"Poor girl my foot!" She retorted, frustrated.

"Huh? Why so?" Her brows crouched in confusion.

"Yoora, I've been in this industry for so long and I have played almost all sorts of negative roles. This 'coffee spilling' thing and then putting on a sorry act is such a childish and cliché plot. She straightaway comes in the category of a bitch, don't get swayed by that beautiful face of hers." She scoffed and explained which made Yoora's eyes widen in surprise.

"Kim Sierra is the top-notch actor for a positive role these days. I mean, she's at the peak of her career. Why would she do something as cheap as this?" She questioned placing her finger on the bridge of her nose thinking hard for all reasons and Violet shrugged.

"No idea. Maybe, she likes to bully me just like that bunny bastard." Violet proclaimed and the older chuckled at the new name she just invented for Jungkook.

"Honestly, I want to know the reason she's playing this good-girl act. The day I put my hands on some evidence and get to know the reason, trust me I'll destroy that face of hers." Violet clenched her fist and showed it in front, her nose flaring in anger. A concerned expression was plastered on the elder's face.

"Violet, Starlight entertainment plays dirty many times for the protection of their artists. I'll suggest that you maintain a safe distance from her. Certainly, we'll back you up if anything weird happens but just know that Sierra, she's never been involved in any controversies and if something gets to the media about you two arguing, you would be the one to face the backlash. I can't see you hit the bottom, just like seven years ago. History shouldn't repeat." Yoora explained sternly and without any further say, Violet's eyes softened and she pulled her into a tight hug.

"Awie Yoora! Nothing will happen to me. Thank you for caring for me." She gave a toothy smile to her manager and broke from the hug.

"Smile more often Violet, you look pretty." Yoora complimented making the woman giggle at her statement and they soon got back to their work.

With a long day and a tight schedule that ended just an hour ago, Violet could finally breathe in peace at her home, without lights and cameras, without the blaring speech of the director for the next shot, without the group of makeup artists and hairstylists following her twenty four- seven, it felt tranquil. She breathed an air of privacy and serenity and soon rushed towards the bathroom to have a long, cold and relaxing shower.

She made her plans to watch some drama and have a drink to calm her mind down with what all happened today. The shooting went smoothly except for Jungkook's bickering and that coffee incident. She still couldn't get it off her head.

After a long shower for an hour or so, she wore her comfy clothes- a deep V-neck top paired with matching shorts and made her way towards the living room with a bottle of whisky and a bowl of chips. Just as she was about to turn her television on, her phone buzzed and she took it in her hands to see the caller-name. She internally prayed that she isn't summoned for work, after all who would like to work again after such a tiring day? She just wants to sleep soundly like a pig.

"Why is he calling me?" Her eyes widened in surprise when she glanced at the caller-name. 'Dumb fuck'. She instantly denied the call.

Meanwhile, Jungkook's jaw dropped when his call was denied and he rolled his eyes annoyed at her behaviour. He glanced at his phone screen and the name by which he saved Y/N's contact- 'Stubborn shrimp'.

"Not only is she mean to me, this woman doesn't even pick the calls of the nation's husband!" He stomped his foot frustrated. Certainly, man's narcissism is at its peak.

After ten minutes or so, her phone stopped buzzing and she was again, about to turn on the television, when her doorbell rang.

"Ahh! Heavens don't like me to have some me-time." She growled, huffing and walked towards the main-door. She was quite certain it was Yoora as she informed her that she'll come over, to discuss the 'modelling' thing. Violet opened the door and 'getting shocked' would be an understatement of whom she saw in front, she was goggle-eyed looking at the man.

"Why don't you pick up the calls you stubborn shrimp!" He rasped taking some breaths.
