Greenie
Working with the Med-jacks was an easy life. If Elizabeth wasn't needed in the kitchen, she would be working with Jeff and Clint. If the Med-jacks had it all covered then Elizabeth was allowed to mess around. She would mostly be bothering Newt or was hanging out with the animals while yelling at the chickens. For example, the day before Winston allowed Elizabeth to murder a couple of chickens. Which made Elizabeth very happy, but today was different. Today marked the day that Elizabeth spend a whole month in the Glade. And according to Newt, when the box came up with the new Greenie. Elizabeth would no longer be a Greenie, which made her excited. But it also made her sad since no one deserves to be stuck in a Maze that they can never escape.
Elizabeth was jumping on the balls of her heals. She was ready to show the new Greenie around and share her knowledge with him/her.
"Calm down, Lizzy," Newt told his sister. Elizabeth suddenly jumped up in the air when a loud sound started to go off. Elizabeth narrowed her eyes as she stared at the Box.
"It's just a Greenie," Minho added. He was able to send one of the backup Runners into the Maze to cover his section, just so he could see the new Greenie.
"He or She also has a beating heart, a working brain, and has a soul!" Elizabeth ranted on. "And a bloody body!"
"Calm down, Greenie." Alby commanded. Elizabeth rolled her eyes and continued to jump on the balls of her feet.
"Legit hope it's a girl." Elizabeth commented. She watched as Newt and Alby opened the doors to the Box. Newt looked up and looked straight at his sister and shook his head. Elizabeth frowned that she will still be the only girl for another month until the next Greenie came.
Elizabeth stopped jumping and sat down on the floor, waiting for Newt and Alby to bring up the bloody Greenie.
"Day one Greenie." It was official, Elizabeth was no longer a Greenie. She waited until she saw Newt brought a young boy up. He was short and pudgy, maybe twelve or thirteen with his brown hair hung down over his ears and neck scraping the tops of his shoulders. The Greenie also had a nice set of blue eyes.
"Welcome to the bloody Glade, Greenie." Elizabeth welcomed the boy.

"And that's the Homestead." Elizabeth finished off the tour for the young boy. "You know, through this whole thing you haven't told me your name or asked any questions."
"Chuck."
"Chuck. Well, Chuck, tomorrow before the wake-up call, I'm going to give you a bloody speech that Newt gave me. Then you'll go with him and bother him since I actually have to work tomorrow." Elizabeth explained to the boy. She noticed how stiff he was and how his eyes were red. "Were you crying?"
"No," Chuck answered.
"It's okay to cry. I weep in the corner of my room every other night." Elizabeth told the boy. "If you want, we can go to my room and cry. I feel the tears coming."
Elizabeth wasn't lying, she really did feel the tears. She didn't understand how the Creators were so cruel to send a young boy into the Glade. It didn't seem like the right place for someone his age, or anyone.
***
"Beth, Greenie." Minho sat down at the picnic table after going into the Map Room to talk with the Runners that returned. To say he was mildly disappointed that he didn't really get to talk with Elizabeth today would be weird. To say that he missed her daily remarks was more believable.
"Hoe." Elizabeth acknowledged the boy before turning towards Chuck. "And this Chuck is the sassiest shank you'll meet in the Glade."
Chuck laughed at what Elizabeth said, causing Minho to glare at Chuck. "Hey! Don't glare at my buddy! All because I'm not putting attention to you doesn't mean you have the right to glare at Chuck."
There were two reasons why Elizabeth was making more comments than usual. One, she really enjoyed making Minho mad or sassy. Two, Elizabeth was trying to cheer Chuck up after crying in Elizabeth's room.
"Hey, Lizzy? Do you know what was the crying sound that was coming from your room?" Newt asked Elizabeth who froze at the mention of crying. Elizabeth didn't want to tell them that she was crying with Chuck and she didn't want to make Chuck seem weak.
"It was probably Minho," Elizabeth answered before stuffing her face with baked potatoes. Hoping that Newt didn't notice her puffy eyes or the tear stains.
"Than what are those? Sweat?" Minho asked, pointing at Elizabeth's face. Newt examined Elizabeth's face to see she had bags and tear stains.
"I'm honestly tougher than I look. But if you don't cry once in a while, how do I know your not a Griever?"
